Absolutely gorgeous. I’m going to find a piece of furniture with carvings so I can give it a try. I’m 74 with health issues and a creative cottage is being built to make my furniture painting easier and more enjoyable. It 20x35 with large work surface overlooking the pool, a faux fireplace surround I’ll be using moulds on and painting. I also will have a full bathroom with shower accessible for my old lady friends who have walkers or wheelchairs. I guess part of it will be considered a lounge for us. We love your videos and plan to start painting when cottage is completed in time for my 75th birthday on November 6. We’re looking for furniture to have to work on. Keep entertaining we vintage ladies😃Thanks so much.
Fabulous! I wanted to tell you I learning a lot form you. Thank you . I am about to finish my first decoupaged piece. Greetings Jonathan from North Carolina, USA. So fabulous! I love your work and have been inspired to try my hand on a lovely table I just found at Goodwill. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us in this amazing video! Looking forward to the next one. You are truly a master.
This came out so lovely. At the very end, when you staged it, I absolutely love how the draperies in the background puddle on the ledge. The way you sort of folded the puddle effect, is so pretty. Of course long drapes that puddle on the floor has been done for a long time but it never occurred to me to do that on a ledge. Such a great idea. I’m stealing it! 😊

I am shocked that nobody mentioned it, but I have always used a feather to create the veining in the marble. You just put the paint on the feather, then pull it over the top while twisting the feather between your thumb and finger. The lines created are completely random in thickness, but have a general direction, you can't control it which is the best thing. Anyway one of my favorite results yet, that you have done.
If I could create a piece to be even close to this, I would be thrilled! This is superbly beautiful; anyone would be fooled with the marble. Great job!

@@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove Jonathon: I don't know how I missed this one, it is a most valuable duo of techniques. It amazingly aligns with a 0roject I have, although mine includes a a real Italian Marble top. I have a French Pervential Coffee Table that my Parents bought back in 1959, a wood frame base, mostly legs, and a sort of cream and ivory color Marble top with a series of light Sienna Brown featherings of lines. I need your thoughts on something, if you have a moment. The marble needs to be buffed to return it to a shine, and it has a couple of circles, likely olive juice (vinegar) etches, "Martinis', or possibly, Pickle Juice from when I was a kid, lol. I had a thing for pickles and olives, and I do love a Dirty Martini! It's the base, I want to paint it a Soft Black, and I want it to have a light look of suede or linen texture. There's 2 points though, this table is absolutely gorgeous, I've never seen one that comes close to it's level of value, it literally is the quality of a Royal purchase. It is a Classic without overly ornate, a thick and heavy piece of marble. It requires a large man to lift it off the base. My Questions: 1. Do you think it a piece that I should restore rather than refinish? (I can inquire with an appraiser, if I can locate one ) 2. What paint and technique will result in the light texture I desire? (I just know, you will get the visual of an polished ivory marble, setting a top this light base of elegant legs, with that black suede finish. It is a Mid-Century yet understated Elegance, French flair. Delicious beauty. I thought about adding a bit of marble dust to the chalk 0aint, or even mixing my own. Anne Sloan is hard to get here, in rural Tennessee, an order only product and the shipping make it expensive. Not a problem if only getting 1 or 2, but to stock the brand would be an investment. Exquisite! The spray bottle idea gives a much more natural effect than I've seen with doing a white wash and dabbing back with a cloth. Thrilled to have seen this because I'm going to try using the first technique with the colors on the plate and a wet brush, creating a water-color, dreamy effect. You are great to watch, as you bring out the fun with throwing caution to the wind. This seems to lend itself to a less studied finish, which ironically looks more expensive.
