Your videos are like watching a movie. That's a good thing. You take us from introducing the characters, to the action, then letting us love the ending. These videos are HARD to put together. Yet you have such amazing talents as a master furniture artist. It's always a treat for me to see your work in action. Thank you so very much. I watched this just last night and was in love with this sideboard. ❤❤❤
I tend to steer clear of craft- DIY-ish channels, and I can’t say yours is the exception because this is very much a professional trade channel- so I just love the incredible results you get, and the copious learning that I get from your videos. Great teacher, great artist, great channel.
I love the bird and bough print on that fabric. It looks marvelous on that furniture. Good to know that certain types of sheeting and drapery fabric are good for decoupage as the scale of those prints tend be larger than is typical of paper.

Jonathon you are always such an inspiration! I will try faux marbling now. It would have been so much fun to see your reaction to Hobby Lobby and Target 🤣
He gives me so much confidence...if he does something and does not like it he changes it...i feel like i could do anything because he shows an escape if it comes out horrible ...best furniture artist ..love your work❤
I've just watched this one after your recent update on the V&A floral napkin decoupage update ...This one is another example of your creative ingenuity- I'm scouring the charity shops for duvet covers now ! ❤...Thanks so much for the detailed content you put out !
I'm also wondering whether you have any videos on using wrapping paper...there are some wonderful patterns out there - so much choice and to be honest a cheaper option than the made for furniture transfers . Anyway ...just a thought ❤
Those are two of the most gorgeous pieces of furniture, omg! They both turned out exquisite! Your color matching skills are mind blowing, you are a master. How you got the exact color of the background of the cloth making the whole thing meld together to where it looked like it was hand painted was astonishing! That, or I am easily astonished 😂 When I think of yellow for a furniture color, that is what I think of! So awesome. ❤❤❤❤❤
The veining on the sideboard is stunning! I absolutely love it! The end table, awesome! Thank you for showcasing fabric as decoupage! I may just try it!
I can see why you are in demand to teach at events! I was kind of hesitant to try the marbling technique but your clear step by step and concise instructions instilled a confidence for me to try it! Also love the fabric decoupage; I agree it is easier than other media! Love love love this!
Love the print! I have a sideboard which I want to change up and it looks like using fabric would be the perfect solution. I will try this technique on a smaller item to get the feel of things.
Hi Jonathon🥰I love that fabric. Yes it is a beautiful sheet. I covered a chair in that fabric in 2000! love it!! Your furniture decoupage looks just beautiful with that fabric!❤
I have never tried using fabric before. The results were beautiful. Jonathan. You are an amazing artist and true inspiration. 😊❤. Deborah. North Carolina
PVA glue has less water in it. Elmers glue has more water in it. The water makes paper/fabrics swell and stretch. I try to use PVA glue when possible. Also 3M makes a lot of glues and they love to help people on what would be best for their project. Maybe next time you're on this side of the pond you can call them or message with them. I'm sure they are inventing new glues every so often.
Jonathon, I don't have big enough adjectives to describe your finished work..The marble top, its utterly AMAZING STUNNING!! You are so TALENTED!!! And the brilliant thing about you, is that unlike other artists, your projects are so diverse. We learn so many different techniques from you. You are one of the BEST out there. I ❤ you and ❤ your marble affect top and table. One question please. I noticed that after applying your gold veining, you applied clear wax and brown or black wax. How long do you wait between doing the veining and applying the waxs? And then again, how long do you wait after the waxing to do the second layer of the veining?? Thank you so much for this tutorial. xx
What an artist! Will be trying the fabric decoupage! 🩷 It seems more accessible economically than the napkin method with all those gorgeous paints for blending and dimension. Any suggestions for low cost alternatives to chalk paint (or lower cost brands) for detailing on the napkin decoupage? Love from Canada!!🇨🇦
I do love the final results but wonder why you do not sand surface like all other furniture renovators do to avoid chipping of paint or undercoat to avoid bleed through
Do you keep separate brushes for waxing and painting or just wash and use for both.....love your work .recently watched your bathroom makeover.the mural is stunning ..
That is simply beautiful Jonathon! Cheers from Canada

I love decoupaging fabric onto furniture. In fact, I now have 6 pieces of furniture that I had decoupaged fabric onto it.
I love the bird and bough print on that fabric. It looks marvelous on that furniture. Good to know that certain types of sheeting and drapery fabric are good for decoupage as the scale of those prints tend be larger than is typical of paper.
The gold mable look, was the perfect touch it needed and that table turned out absolutely stunning😍
You are the master. That fabric is the same as a set if sheets I had back in the 70's .
@@nataliepastor1497 it’s such a great pattern. They should re-release this one.
Beautiful John. All custom. Your own mixed paint, faux marbling and antiquing. Just everything signature John. A masterpiece.
Watching you changing your direction with the marblings was great for my confidence in trying this. Loved the end results on both pieces.
Sometimes, if it’s not working, you just have to change directions and you always learn something new when doing this 😊😊

You absolutely nailed the marble top! I much prefer it over the original colours and design 🖤🤎 And the table turned out absolutely gorgeous also 🖤🤎
This looks very tedious for faux marbling. Love the outcome.

That’s for the inspiration, picked up an old table for $7. Was not sure what I was going to do w top. 💡 fabric on top.
Jonathon you are always such an inspiration! I will try faux marbling now. It would have been so much fun to see your reaction to Hobby Lobby and Target 🤣
Why not put a piece of glass on top of the sideboard to preserve the marbled top?
Yeah it’s a good shout or you could use an epoxy resin over the top 😊😊
Both pieces turned out BEAUTIFULLY!!!
I can’t get over how well you matched the color of the back ground of the fabric❤❤❤
The magic of mixing colours, it’s my favourite thing to do 😊😊
