The entire content was so creative and informative! The additions of the little corbels and the marble top made it achieve a very unique look!! Using salt wash as a gesso is def on my list of things to try soon!! And I thought the sanding of the edges on the marble to add a ‘wear’ feel and look was absolute genius!! Another great project Jonathon!!! Bravo…risk it for a biscuit indeed!!!👏🏻❤️💃🏼😻
I’m glad you chose to use the chair back vertically for trim and I love the repeated pattern curves from legs to wreath to trim. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture.
Hi ya Jonathon. It’s just GORGEOUS ❤️❤️❤️IT I’m Definitely going to do that saltwash technique 👍 I Just ❤️ EVERYTHING about and I just ❤️ Your long tutorials 👍I could watch you All day ! Have an Awesome day 🤗
I LOVE your channel! I have a resell store named Crooked Crown - as we clear out estates as a business. I found you when I was looking for guidance on napkin work. And I am obsessed. I love how you combine techniques. I have a large store and put a large TV there to gain inspiration from people like you! And it worked. I would travel to take a class from you! Thank you for your channel.
I LOVE watching you for inspiration. Right now I'm struggling with an antique Chinese 'Library" piece I have. The once vibrant colors have all faded into something very drab, it's been misused and needed some repairs, and it lost most of it's pulls. The top has wood lattice in front of glass in the doors and glass shelves. The bottom has a pull-out desk. The whole piece used to be beautiful black lacquer with vibrant colors over it. On the bottom, it has raised images . I took a pic of it and the camera grabbed the colors and showed me what it must've looked like new. I was blown away. The colors are amazing. I'd like to recreate the colors for the top but I've no idea how or where to begin, so I'm here getting inspiration.
I'm so glad I found your chanel ~ you cover all the techniques I'm interested in and even more! I find your detailed instruction on point and so detailed I feel I could actually do it in spite of the complexities a piece may offer. The length of your videos allows for every bit of the information to be explained. Please keep up the wonderful work you do!❤🧡‼
Oh Jonathon. It’s beautiful. This was such an odd little piece, and you’ve turned it into a masterpiece. I love your creativity, and your generosity in sharing it with all of us. Chiptastic! Shabbyliscious! Thank you 😊
Really did enjoy your video loved the way it turned out I’m going have a go at the weekend on a small cupboard door your a master at what you can do 😘 .
Awesome!!! I get so excited watching you create. The coffee is perfect. The entire piece is so elegant! It makes me want to do a piece, too. I’ve done marble finishes. I once marbleized an ugly vinyl floor. My son’s girlfriend got down to look under the baseboard heater because she didn’t believe it was painted. 🤣 ❤ Shirler
I loved the transformation of this side table the marble looking top was spot on with the aged patina , although for me I would liked the look of the solid paint job rather than the distressed look but I know so many people prefer that look also. Another fabulous work of art Jonathan.
I really love how you fixed the top and that weird little space with the mirrors. Your solution makes the piece look like it was supposed to be done your way! Love the faux marble treatment. ThanKs so much!
I found a tall little cabinet at a yard sale for $5. Unloved as well . Perfect for a project. Did a Google Lens search and discovered it was a humidor. And that’s where the similarities end! I chalked painted, decoupaged and distressed and love it. You created a miracle! Such awesome work. Thank you!
Oh my goodness, I can't stop smiling 😍, you're just an amazing person who loves what he does. I just love how you try new things and it always comes out perfectly. Thank you for sharing your talent with us all. Blessings to you always 🙏.
My workshop is quite small and I’m not normally this tidy but for the purpose of you guys watching I have to keep things clean mostly I’m a messy creative worker I could have at least 20 or 30 brushes on the go at once sometimes 🥴🥴🥴😊
You made one more masterpiece! I don’t believe that it’s the same piece! You don’t seize to amaze me! So the gesso makes the paint unstable because I thought it was the other way around!
Yes that’s a great call you’re right it does make it more stable the other way round it’s just when it’s wet or moisture it is added it becomes kind of unstable then once it’s dried and cured then waxed it becomes really tough it’s one of those weird conundrums 🥴😊😊😊
I absolutely love love love you! I love what you do, and you’re so good at it and it seems like you’re so very sweet! Keep doing what you’re doing! you’re making the world a better place
I typically love your work. I adore your color choices in this project as well as your decisions to bring balance to the design of this piece. My only suggestion is to remember the excellent advise of Coco Chanel related to less is more. Keep bringing on the 😅tutorials and giving voice to your critical thinking process around your choices. Sometimes, as in this case, I have more take aways when I don't agree with all your choices!
Thank you very much and that’s what I truly hope for everybody that watches anything that I’ve done just take away the things that you love and make him your own and wishing you all the best for some beautiful projects to come 😊😊😊
Thank you so much and I am super pleased with the outcome and I will definitely try this technique again it’s apprising how it helps the paint peel off in a really authentic way and yet once it’s waxed it feels solid as a Rock 😊😊😊
I’m going to definitely try your technique with the saltwash. It turned out beautiful!!! Posh Chalk is out of gel stain on their website, as I intended to buy you some and you could pick it up next time you visit them. I really do wish you would make an Amazon wish list Jonathon. I’m certain there are loads of us that would love to give back a little something to you.
Hi I really should do that it would be a help with the revenue stream for me I just can’t seem to find enough time do you know what it’s like I just want to do all of the creative stuff 🥴🥴😀❤️
I totally agree that it is time consuming but you could monetize the “wish list” by creating your own Amazon store and that way when we buy products you recommend, you would earn commissions.
I like the tecnique you've used on the wall behind the finished piece. Do you have a video on how you did that? Thanks, and this little cupboard is really a step up from what it began as.
I love what you did with the wood-u-bend and the savaged pieces at the top, the colour is beautiful and I really like the marble top. It's a very natural chippy look. I'll have to try it
Thank you very much I’m really pleased with how this technique turned out it was trial and error but I can safely say I will use it again it seem to work out really beautifully 😊❤️
Lovely and fun Jonathan. I especially love seeing this odd problematic piece go through your collection of ideas, skills, experimentation and come out renewed and lovely. I guess thats artistry and you have it by the bucketful :0). Then on top of all that you share, teach and inspire us. Nuff gushing as I don't want you to have neck cramp from holding up a swelled head lol. Take good care, have a happy productive creative day Jonathan.
Your videos are sooo long .. but you are very knowledgeable and I learn so much. Even though it takes several sessions to watch one of your videos (don’t have time to see them all) I try to watch from beginning to end as much as I can. I appreciate your craft!
JMM --- There sat an odd quirky piece ... but you saw what was good about it & ideas to fix the not so good-- Turned out fab ... amazing how chalk paint can be manipulated & how the wax & wax colors just take a remake to a different level . Your vision & skill & diligence to teach the techniques inspires your fans to do & share & spread your legend..... of course , the staging photo is always especially grand ! Faithful Fan ....
Oh thank you very much you know how much lovely comments like yours mean to me and this one is really lovely I really appreciate your support always❤️🙏
