Hey bud, I have an 86 FZ600 as well, the idle speed should be set at 1200 when the bike is fully warmed up...it should still hold an idle at 1000 though. Check your spark plugs, maybe it's miss firing from being too rich which can cause it to die when idling
hey dude, your bike looks great, but, i think you should have it adjusted a little more. the engine is not that responsive when you give it some gas, it's kinda sluggish. probably it just needs some synchronizing and check the carbs if they're a bit dirty.
