Before any of more y’all Californians move here just know it got down to -30f in Missoula last winter and this one is supposed to colder than that! Go grizz!
@@ridetofoodwasn’t trying to call you out lol. Just an unnecessary PSA, it just sucks to see so many out of staters move here then leave because they cans take the cold and short days when so so many locals can’t afford the housing anymore. Meant no offense, not that being from Cali is an insult air anything haha
WOW. I left Redmond Oregon in Aug 2 2024 at 6:25 am headed to Kooskie and then to LoLo Hot Springs lodge. So nice to have been sharing the road with you. I was a hot one 550 miles I was a piece of toast by 6:30 checked in and had 2 cold beers at the Restaurant. And then Saturday off to Glacier followed by a 2 Week trip to Sturgis and back thru Red Lodge .. Around Bend Oregon out on 2 wheels
Excellent job of showing Lolo Highway. I get to ride this route often and I love seeing other people's view of it. Amanda is wonderful and her Rocky Mountain Roll takes me back to what is probably considered old-school motorcycle campsout. I wish there were more like it. I hope I get to cross paths with you one of these days and get to meet you. In the meantime keep up the great work, you do an incredible job. Thank you! ~ Ladybug
SIMPLY... AMAZING... !!! What an AMAZING road. Of course the camera work is on point as always. Because of your videos i have a notebook, full of bucket list, must do rides....👍😎👍😎
I rode the pass on my Harley in 2011 and it was a great ride. I have a pix of the sign "Winding Road Next 99 miles" at the top. I could have coasted all 99 miles! It is hard to believe that it took so long for Lewis and Clark and so easy today. There's some good geology along the old Indian trail. I have a Dyna Street Bob and my bile looked almost exactly like yours at 11:11 when I rode that Lewis and Clark Trail after Sturgis in 2011 and when I rode to Alaska in 2012 before Sturgis. Keep it up, youngster! I have also done Beartooth HWY - another killer ride!
@@ridetofood On the Beartooth HWY - it is very beautiful and also very, very curvy. Watch the speed limit signs. One state is 25 mph and at the state line it is 70 mph. It is hard to go faster than 25-30 mph on both! Have fun, I did!
Great episode, as always. Great camera angles, editing and, of course, being in that part of the country, the drone shots. I will watch this one a few times more during the WI winter to help get me through to the riding season.
I never had the pleasure of doing the trip on a Harley but I have several trips in both directions in a long haul trucking combo and it's a wonderful experience for sure.
Thanks so much for taking us all along that amazing pass! There is so much riding to be had both in western Montana and Idaho! Those delicious pastys were the working person's staple in their lunch box. The ones I grew up on were stuffed with all sorts of veggies and a bit of a budget cut of meat. The crust HAD to be made with lard or it just wouldn't be right! In the northern areas of Minnesota and Michigan, the miners and loggers were all sent off to a long day of hard work with a hot pasty wrapped in a tea towel in their metal pot that served as a lunch box. Should you find yourself up in that neck of the woods, try some local pastys, you won't leave hungry! Thanks for the amazing views of Lolo!
This is one beautiful country we have here, and you do an incredible job sharing it with us Staci. Not to mention teasing us with some delicious looking dishes along the way. My usual thanks and appreciation for your work.
What a spectacular road! You really can't be dropping such exciting trips at the end of the season!! A 7 month wait till i can try it. Thanks again, I'll be rewatching in spring.
lol this wasn’t live streamed….I have to go ride and film stuff when it’s warm just like everyone else 😂🤘 mostly have time to edit when the season tapers off
I've driven that road many times in my truck and have even camped next to the river on one of my trips. This is definitely a bucket list bike ride for any biker!
In 2007 I went to Yellowstone in a new to me jeep. I randomly chose to take Lolo on the way back. I'd love to go back and ride it....maybe this summer.
Staci, awesome trip. I absolutely love the western part of Montana and need to get back there at some point soon! Lolo Pass will be on the list of things to do. Thanks for the inspiration! Cheers from Alabama!
Montana is one of those states that will always be pleasant to visit no matter how many times you get the opportunity, I think! Hope you get back there sooner rather than later. Cheers! :)
All the cool people know Amanda! I've followed her on Insta for a while, she's an amazing person, rider, and cook. Glad I found your channel, that's some beautify riding and scenery.
Awesome. The views are breathtaking. I do have to laugh though. Every time you say it's so hot in that you're burning up you have your jacket fully buttoned up and all the way zipped up!!lol. 😂😂😂
Looking Good and always riding to show us and putting food in our face😂..yumm yumm👍 Stacia, VAROOM 💨 to you and your Iron Horse❤ going thru the Lolo Pass . Good ride. Thank you and sending Hugs to you. Always checking your travels..girl🤗 From California Goose 😊
Looks like so much fun. I had a ticket, but I went around the Olympic Peninsula instead due to the heat. I had to get a motel one night because the campground I went to was too cold and windy to sleep.
Beautiful country out that way. Back in 2017 I was north of where you went as I was on US-2 and the scenery was just as beautiful. Looked like a great time
Great video as always, also may I compliment you on a great pronunciation of the word Pasty! So many folks say it totally wrong but you nailed it, being born in the UK where the Pasty originated from as a food for the Tin miners around the 1200’s believe this Brit is impressed! Also some truly beautiful riding there with some very cool scenery and of course great food!
Rode the Lewis and Clark trail in 2004 on my 2003 Electra Glide Clasic. Back to Michigan thru Oregon,Calif , Nevada hwy 50 , Utah and points east. Great ride!. Also did the Natchez Trace in 1998 on my 1994 H/D Wide Glide. Some really wonderful riding memories. You bring them back.
My bucket list just got bigger. It’s so funny how 130ish miles can take so long to ride. Yet if the road is fun enough, it’s totally worth it. Now I want a steak! Thank you for another great video. You have a gift for story telling. Love your channel! (and Amanda’s!)
Haha yeah when you’re not going 80+mph in a straight line it tends to take a little longer to get places but usually, those are the best types of roads! 🏍️💨🏔️🏔️🏔️

Oddly enough, I've driven that route hundreds of times in a semi truck hauling grain to Idaho, but I've never done it on a bike. I need to make it back up there. I lived in Corvallis and miss MT so much. Thanks for giving me a taste of "home"!

I get so excited when you come to my back yard. I’m in Coeur d’Alene Idaho and we ride lolo at least once a year. Next time try the lochsa lodge for a burger!
For those of you ride this with plenty of time to spare be sure to stop at the DeVoto Cedar Grove just before the pass on the Idaho side. Also if you like to hike and stay in Hamilton be sure to check out Blodgett Canyon; it is absolutely spectacular. Another great place to check out is Missoula's Hip Street; it hasn't changed much since the 1970's when I lived in Montana. If you can handle Missoula's god-awful traffic it's a fun little city.
I have ridden Lolo a couple of times, coming from Gibbonsville where we have a small Moto Guzzi campout. Lolo isn't to technical but very pretty. Continue on to Lewiston/Clarkson and go over Rattlesnake to Enterprise. Another great ride. Thanks for the memories.

Jealous!
The ride from Lewiston, Idaho down to Joseph, Oregon and back is absolutely packed with a huge overdose of majestic scenery!
The ride over rattlesnake pass is fun too. There is a good camping spot just south of Joseph. Don't forget the distillery in Joseph!
Lived in Lewiston for a short time. I can second this ride. It’s a great one!
I rode in Montana. Got a dish with French fries. When I asked for fry sauce, the waitress said “ You must be from Idaho”……
@wrigman LOL!
