That's an 1986 I bought mine brand new in 86 . Didn't have it long got drunk on zambooka got chased my town police and crashed at 100 plus . Broke all my ribs on the left side and put two threw my lung. Broke my hand in five places , Left wrist and my right radius . Had a collapsed lung. Oh and my hot girlfriend left me for her pot dealer. Those were the days.

Lol I bought the same bike, this video brings back sweet memories. After I laid it down the 3 or 4th time I traded it for a VW bug.

Yes. That was an 1986 and my first motorcycle. I like that paint better than the 87.

This is a fast bike with no frame or suspension capable of handling the speed, this thing was made to break bones,or worse,i have this and a radian,i love the radian but it has similar issues all old bikes have these issues,if you ride one you know.

Yeah I got one in 1988 ,second hand , same model as this. With the square looking rear end , seemed every part wasnt really designed for the bike lol. Still loved it but it wasnt the best just what i could afford. Unfortunately crashed at about 80mph couple of months after getting it, flew through the air and landed on my ass at about 60mph, shattered my spine. Got myself a new set of wheels after that. (Wheelchair that is)
Still can't blame the bike , it was my driving! Still love the look of that thing , strange , you'd think I'd hate the sight of one but no , just makes me remember the late night rides and the sheer fun. Wasn't worth it. Many many years of pain since. Sometimes the bikes aren't worth it.

Maybe, but your past decision making doesn't define a riders passion.

@jessemumphrey9588 30 years of spinal nerve pain that required operations to insert a mechanical morphine pump directly into the injury site, plus oral morphine , gabapentin, fentanyl patches and diazapham just to be able to not writhe around in agony will kill all "riders passion" I assure you. Some passions however great you think they are when you're young aren't worth the cost. Sometimes as you get older you realise there's plenty of yet to be discovered passions available out there and you sure as he'll don't want to deny yourself the opportunity to find out if they're for you. Just a warning from someone who's lived through it.

@@hazed1009 I understand that is probably rough. I'm in the middle of a build so that's probably why I'm not as discouraged. Preciate the insight for sure I'm already knowing there's other passions, I have a few lol.

Some things we can't avoid when it comes to the ride, even Guys that have gotten hurt or killed due to elements or people who don't share the road. That's why I always have full Gear when I ride to at least mitigate anything that may or may not happen.

@jessemumphrey9588 I'm glad to hear you have other passions , I certainly wouldn't want to discourage any passions , just that sometimes when we are young we tend to feel invincible. Not a bad thing , makes us bold and try new things which is fantastic. I for instance did parachute jumps before my accident and I actually did tandem jump after , you gotta take a leap no doubt to experience stuff. Just wish I could warn a few of those youngsters to take it a little easier. There's plenty of time , you know? When I was 18 I wanted everything ASAP, as fast a bike as I could get etc. I have to say , I've had a pretty unusual life , met some amazing people dealing with life changing events. Seen sides to humans that I really consider a gift, also I tend to see the best in people who want to help.Even been the first to do a few things , like white water rafted the sun kosi river in Nepal , the first in wheelchairs to do it, It really isn't all bad. You're life leads elsewhere of course, But if I can, by reminding people there can be some heavy long term consequences for a short term bit of fun, if I can maybe prevent that momentary lapse in judgement , make someone think actually I don't need to prove anything here and save that accident well , hell. That will be worth it. I can maybe save someone a lot of pain and help them go on to do a hundred other things too .
I kinda doubt me at 18 would have listened tbh but you never know, something might strike a nerve with someone. If you can excuse that pun! (I hate nerves!!@ lol)

That was a later iteration in the FZR600. I own an 87 FZ600 and mine doesn't have it.
