This clicked so well for me. My biggest block over the past few years has been raising my larynx. These exercises have made such a difference even in just a week. Thank you so much, this is life changing for me
I LOVE THAT 😭 I’m so afraid that I’ll put out a video and find out afterwards that I have bad advice so I try to be as mindful as I can about what I put out. It means so much to me that a vocal coach approves tbh 🥺
Been a year since i started other things and gotta say, as day one of voice training, thanks for telling and showing me through this. I have high hopes about this for the first time in a while (thanks to your voice and honestly your confidence) and I'm really grateful you're giving help!
I had basically given yp on voice training, but your tutorials are giving me hope again! Also, super looking forward to the discrete training video, my partner makes fun of my voice excercises 😅
Ty you are anazing😢 i recently came out to my mother and basically feel free enough to get my life back in track. I have been avoiding voice lessons just thinking i could do it myself and that itll just happen. I have gotten to a point where things just switch when im talking or laughing and have to quickly “shut it off” so there’s that but i just haven’t officially sat down with THIS type of training. Thank you nice person 😢
ZOMG YES!!! quickly jumping into more resources 😂 i love it! im already fairly mid in my voice journey but i will follow these reguardless for reinforcement
I am really glad I found your pages today, so many helpful tips and so many things I never knew about trans people, I think I might be an egg, but we'll see :3
No shade on Alyssa’s channel but yr a much clearer and concise teacher, I’ve watched her stuff for hours and can’t make heads or tails. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos when u can!
Thinking about it and going over yr training videos a few times, I think your work benefits from the tightness of the editing and the fact that you don’t include a lot of ancillary details your audience doesn’t need to know. Digressions are rly normal in any kind of vlog, but I think because this can be kind of an emotional subject for ppl to learn about it’s better to just focus on only what we absolutely need to know about this topic and leave miscellaneous trivia for another video. For example this video is just what someone needs to know *right now* (relaxing and breathing exercises for the throat), but I see videos on the same topic that are 10 times longer.
Thank you so much! Yea, Alyssa is amazing and such a phenomenal researcher and vocal expert, but I understand that it's still difficult for demoralized people to get into. I've always been praised for my ability to explain complex topics in simple ways, so I like to be able to use that skill and share her research so that it reaches more people. And for those that want to go more in-depth with their understanding and training, I'm happy to direct them to her c:
i'm trying the little dog exercise, and can't go above my current voice level, the adam apple won't go up. however, i can lower it to the abyss. I guess i just haven't figured it out yet. nevermind, it disapearred into my chin
oh em jesus as a baby trans i must say you are so pretty‼️‼️‼️ and i love your voice, all the effort you put into it really shows, and its inspiring me to try to make myself actually stick to voice training! lmao i tried not to write this comment and then watched some of your other videos and i just couldnt, i aspire to acquire even a fraction of your style and voice :3 (also yes i use :3 unironically dw abt it i swear im normal) (i am not in fact but thats irrelevant)
I talk to myself a lot, and I tend to not vocalize but I do whisper. Recently I've been trying to apply these muscle exercises to my "whispering sessions", could this be prejudicial to my vocal training?
I don’t think so! Voiceless exercises are all about whispering and breathing. However, I would say be careful because it could lead you to overworking your vocal muscles if you haven’t developed much strength or endurance with them yet. One session of voice training is likely to be much more beneficial than whispering while applying the knowledge of the exercises, so if you ever have to pick and choose between one or the other due to vocal strain, choose voice training and rest your voice muscles during the whispering. However! You might not ever need to make that choice, and if you feel fine doing both the voice training and the whispering with the applied techniques, go for it! As long as you’re careful and prioritize the health of your vocal muscles, I wouldn’t worry too much!
Hooray, you're not dead! Although, if you were: has anyone called dibs on your gorgeous hair yet? Asking for a friend. 💙 I guess I have 2-4 weeks of homework... I'm both very grateful and stubbornly grumpy about it.
Unironically, in my personal life I’ve had many people talk about wanting my hair to the point that I cut off a lock of my hair and gave it to the amazing receptionist at my old therapists office. I found out she was retiring soon during my last appointment and we had been joking for over a year about me eventually sharing my hair with her. She was so sweet and called me a few days later to thank me and we had such a wholesome conversation. I’ll never forget you, Miriam
@@Ellerellie Aw, what a sweet story! 🧡 Probably very silly of me, but after reading that, my brain yelled "she's an ENFP too!" I don't know if you've ever done those Myers-Briggs personality tests. I did them when I was young and it meant nothing to me back then, but I did them again a year ago at a free site (16personalities), and boy did it nail me perfectly. It helped me shed some old false ideas I'd based my self-worth on, like being a very logical thinker (nope, turns out I'm a very emotional thinker), which turned out to be pieces of egg-shell that were still stuck to me. I have no idea how many other people look at that stuff, though. 😊
I am sorry but I got distracted by how jelly I am of your hair. It looks so good.
You’re so sweet, thank you 🥹

incredible resource, you are going to impact so many people's lives with this
I've sent some of your videos to my vocal coach and she loves what you do, thank you so much for your concise videos

I watched one fashion video youtube. ONE. And you already know what's up. You shouldn't know things before I accept them.
is holding for 10 seconds voiced or voiceless? tysm
I need to know too
