KOTOR is arguably the most famous, and universally fan-approved Star Wars game. I grew up with it and many believe this Bioware game to be the grandfather of larger-than-life RPG titles of Jade Empire, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. The graphics may not have aged well but Knights of the Old Republic makes up for it with amazing narrative depth.

You actually did it 😂
HK-47 Well commented my loyal friend.
omg this made my night!
HK-47 I love you
you made my day xD
back in '03 when I was 8 a best buy employee talked me into getting this instead of the episode 3 game. I have been playing it non-stop since then. Such a fantastic game!
I know it’s been a *loooong* time since then, but the Episode 3 game is actually a lot of fun, if you haven’t tried it out. KOTOR is better, obviously, but Episode 3 is a hidden gem
@@MyGamer125 I'll definitely give it a try then! I've been replaying the classic Dark Forces games recently so it'll fit right in. Thank you for the tip
Wow irony. Ya. The episode 3 game is also good *not as good as kotor) its literally just *the* star wars fighting game. Its got its usual going through levels of the movie part. But the main part is its "multiplayer" (can be played against bots) part thats just an literally fighting game like street fighter but for jedi.
That employee is a saint
Episode 3 is hella fun though. Especially if you had someone to play with
"Lando's granddaughter" ah, if only you knew.
The poor fuck. The poor, stupid fuck.
Louis Wilkins watch episode 9 and you'll know what hes talking about
@@Err0Rose never
@DaBaby Yoda He is missing out on another shit film, in a shit trilogy. So your point is invalid lol
@Louis Wilkins bless you for not knowing that. You lucky bastard
To quote Darth Malak:
"This game was jaw-dropping"
Bro 🤣💀
Not a quote from darth Malak
My favourite game of all time. I have my copy of the game signed by Jennifer hale (voice actor of bastilla).
Let's hope for a KOTOR 3 in the future...
SuriiK seeing how EA has a stranglehold on the Star Wars IP, that'll never happen. If it did happen, then expect loads of microtransactions and other crap. They'd probably give you only green sabers for Jedi and red for Sith and then make you have to pay for loot boxes for a chance to get the other colors
You what???
Oh, never sell that
Daaaamn you are lucky!!!!!
Lucky Bastard. This was the only dialog option i had.
To hope for KOTOR 3 one must hope for a miracle.
And that miracle is *Obsidian Entertainment*
"Go away."
"I saw how you mopped up those Black Vulkars. Nice work."
"One."
"I'm not looking for a fight. I just want to talk."
"Two."
"Okay, I see your point. I'll be off, then."
"Smart."
―Calo Nord and Revan
What would happen if you successfully killed Calo then and there?
You wouldn't have succeeded. Actually, I'm not sure but I think(if I remember correctly) that he's programmed to be able to kill you at that point.
Same line set Woolie picked.
+August28 - Unless you're just talking theoretically it is indeed impossible. If you cheat and give yourself infinite health, ridiculous damage and the best weapons you'll just be stuck in a never ending battle where you can't kill him and he can't kill you.
Wow, spoilers
👋 You will review Knights of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.
Your pathetic Jedi mind tricks will not work on me
Just kidding I love the Jedi. I always wanted to be one.
Prolly won't since the game is a broken buggy mess without Mods
@Short For A Hoe That's your opinion and that's cool, but Revan for life (minus SWTOR Revan. They ruined him.)
@@CookiePieMonster The Restored Content Mod does fix 90% of the games problems though. If you never played it try it out like this. Kotor 1 had the better story but Kotor 2 with RCM is a better game overall.
@@EskChan19 I know about the mod, that's why I said *without* mods. Kotor 2 does upgrade the gameplay compared to kotor 1, but that doesn't change the fact that without mods kotor 2 is so buggy I'm amazed it was sold in stores.
I remember being so hype to get to Dantooine and upgrade to Jedi status, and then I'd get my ass kicked by Kath Hounds because I spent my 2 force points on dominate mind...
This is why you start off as a melee focused Soldier
Diamonte Lol I started off as a scavenger. Never even played a game remotely similar to this. Looking back now, I’m surprised I even managed to beat it
@@timotheninja next play through don’t level up before you leave taris
I never liked blaster, it's really sad because i love hk-47
I remember unknowingly gimping myself when I was little because I was a melee character but picked consular cause I wanted a green saber lol
Psst... Girard... Just save your game before you play pazaak. If you lose, load your save. Repeat for infinity. You'll win... someday..
indeed, never play Pazaak without saving, you're gonna lose a lot until you get hardcore skilled.
So you'll lose a lot of money because there is no "harcore skill" in pazaak.
I don't know, if you have the right cards and strategy, winning pazaak is really not that hard.
Yep it's all about your cards.
To me Kotor is still canon. I don’t care what disney says.
Takashiari To my understanding of The Clone Wars and it's sequel Rebels series, nothing outright conflicts with these games. Then again, I still haven't finished these games either, but until something outright conflicts, I'll agree that it's Canon.
it doesn't counter any of the movies or TV shows, Disney just doesn't like it cause they know they'll never do anything that'll top it
George Lucas went on Record many times saying if it wasnt something he directly worked on it was not canon... It was not Disney that made this non Canon
then Disney's Star Wars movies and Rebels aren't cannon
My point was they were non Canon Before Disney took over so nothing changed Obviously George Lucas has no say in what is canon anymore
Famous last words:
“I’m personally excited for the last Jedi”
It was imo good but its hard to like when 2/3 is literall dog shit
I loved last jedi.
Mojo Ethan to each there own my friend, I’m more of a clone boy myself.
I like TLJ! But yeah it super funny that he said everybody's looking forward to TLJ and then the release happend...
@@mojoethan4141 good for u, but it was just bad
Ah yes. The iiban hawk. The ship I remember from my childhood.
EBON HAWK!!!!!!
Ah nerds being pissed off over a pronounciation of a name is always gratifying lol
Ben Moreno To me, it’s just baffling that someone can’t pronounce a word as common as Ebon.
@@benmoreno5882 It makes it seem like the guy didn't even play the game. The name of the ship is mentioned multiple times. So did he actually play this or did he just get a script from reading a walk through.
@@c_f0rce probably both who know until he releases some gameplay we shall never know
I agree, I recently watched his dark souls 2 video and he kept mispronouncing the name of the kingdom that's mentioned multiple times. No way he actually played the game. Probably paid someone to play it and write an essay. And when he reads it he butchers the names.
Fun fact KOTOR 1 and 2 use the 3.5 dungeons and dragons system.
Barry Bend Yes and no. It uses the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars RPG system that's based on the D20 system which is the same base system that D&D Third Edition uses.
I wish someone told me this sooner! Now I want to play it
To be precise, KOTOR 1 runs on a barely modified version of Neverwinter Nights' Aurora Engine (3.0 d20), while 2 runs on a prototype Electron Engine (3.5 d20). Yes there is a slight difference.
Correct! Give this man a cookie!
I played both 3.0 and 3.5 and there is very little difference compared to 3.5 to 4.0.
Could you imagine if EA put pazaak mini games in Star Wars Battlefront 2? Then it really would be a Star Wars themed digital Casino.
lol
Baron Harkonnen no it would have to be DLC
+assassin gamerdie All DLC is free, so it wouldn't matter if it was.
SSSHHHHHH
It's in Star Wars The Old Republic MMORPG.
Me: I know everything about KOTOR
Completionist: You can have a romance with Johani as the female protagonist
Me: WHHHHAAAAA
i already knew that.
Gary Good wow well done
I wasn't a Furry in 2003 and in 2020 after 17 years I'm still not lol and I've played the game MULTIPLE times over 🤣
I remember them mentioning it on xplay
"Dysfunctional jedi counsel", we'll you'll see more of that in KOTOR 2
Zeta_Legion They did some pretty fucked stuff in the first KOTOR too.
Bioware needs to remaster this series, it would help them out after the new mass effect game!
there been rumors about it
Also someone is remastering it by themselves I watch them on twitch every stream as they remaster it.
No. Please no. I don't want EA to get anywhere near this or KotOR 2.
GreenBean bioware now isnt the same bioware as back then, so hell no
GreenBean if it would be just hd 4k ultra edition, then why no, but it wont
HickoryDickory86 I mean after battlefront 2 I'd hope Disney would find a new publisher
Ah, yes, the memories. Refusing to level up until you become a jedi, only to be a full jedi guardian with only 2 levels of soldier. It's a bigger power trip than force unleashed, IMHO.
infantMajesty I've never tried that before. How difficult is it do not level up until you're a Jedi.
WorldHunter a lot, the arena fights are tough without a nice set of grenades, but the parts where you can rely in your party are a breeze if you avoid pulling aggro with your main.
infantMajesty I'm gonna have to try this the next time I play. Sounds interesting.
infantMajesty I remember doing that once with a Consular run. UNLIMITED POOOOOOWAH! *shoots all the lightning*
oh man, the constant dying, the inevitable buying of stim packs to get through the simplest of fights, placing mines everywhere to win bastila, all to reap the reward of being a badass is totally worth it... if you've tried this you have my respect.
wow, lando's grand daughter. if you only knew.
If only it were true...only if it was possible.....
She still could have just been nobody. Like not everyone needs to be connected to the originals
@@masonpellazar6543 not if you ask Disney
I have been playing this game since I was a small child, so I'm very used to all the systems and aspects of the game. Done every quest, completed every side objective, played every type of character combination you can play. It wasn't until watching this video that I started to realize the absolutely MASSIVE scale of this game and the truly staggering amount of ingenious content it gives us. Truly a masterpiece deserving of its reputation as one of the greatest pieces of Star Wars content.
Right?
I was 7 when this came out and it’s just… never really dawned on me how much content its got. Such a solid classic.
Lol you haven’t completed every quest kid. Do you even own the game?
Jedi _Counciler_ ?
_E-Bon_ Hawk?
*unholy screeching*
They say the name of the ship so many times during one playthrough, he played it 4 times and still doesn't remember the pronunciation? Sounds fishy.
Ebon Hawk's pronunciation had to have been a troll decision. It had to...
Jirard mispronounces things all the time through-out all the videos, including things stated many, many, many times in the game - like "T-arr-is" as opposed to "Tar-is"
I wouldn't be surprised if he just plays them with mute on the whole time with how often it happens.
-Or that this is all a social experiment to see if you can believably review video games without ever actually playing or experiencing them and getting someone else to write a script.-
Pretentious Elizabeth
You know, I really got the felling that he didn't play the game. He didn't went to a spoilers discussion about the outcomes of the choices you can make in the game, did he? Even when he praises precisely that so much.

@@GaleHUN It's good apart from that part near the game where you play as the little droid, that bit was almost unplayable it was so hard since I'd barely levelled him up and took way too long to beat

Just curious
Maesterful I killed all the enemies with the exile before that bit so it was easy for me
Watching this after rise of sky walker is very unfortunate
10:47 Oh man, that background Ahto music. I don't know why I loved that song so much but it really got to me

2:08 at this moment, my heart just stopped. Hell, it stops every time I listen to KotOR's main theme.
Same
One of the best SW themes
I see profile pic changed when the remake was announced. That's cool
When I played this game, I was so under leveled that by the end, I had to cheese the Malak fight using mines
you should've side quested and slain every enemy you can, you should be at least on par with Malak, if not stronger.
Easiest way to beat Malak... Y'all ready for this. Use his strat... Force Drain the captured Jedi :p
I was far overleveled and still used the mines and force drain, sorry. ;)
Poly Rolf Try beating the game with a blasters only run. You HAVE to cheese Malak for like 90 minutes.
I recently went back and played KOTOR 1, as a light side Consular. Since he's immune to pretty much every stunning move I had, I too had to cheese him out with mines that I placed while using Speed to get away from him lol
If you play the second game then you NEED to use the Restored Content Mod! It actually finishes the game and brings back all the removed content that was originally supposed to be in
i played KOTOR on the XBOX originally, for somebody new to PC gaming, how much modding exists between the two games? i would love to know.
There's quite a lot, and they're quite varied. Heck, some mods like The Brotherhood of Shadow (which is huge btw) and The Restored Content have become so popular that some consider them essential.
I usually stick to the Restored Contents mods and a few cosmetic changes, but there are others you can that really change and/or improve the experience.
The "Mod" is considered offical now and comes with Kotor2 on Steam now.
It's been patched since the buggy release...yes. But that isn't what Nirvashv7 is talking about. The restored content mod is unofficial and separate from the Steam release. The mod is available on Steam though. In the workshop. And it does add a bit of extra to the game. Aside that is the planet M4-78, which was also cut from the game and adding in via modding.
That said, beware of planet M4-78. It was also meant to be in the game, and if added will be tied into the story. Personally, I could have done without it, and thought it could have been better optimized and a bit less tedious than it turned out to be. Still awesome that they put all the work in that they did to put it back in the game. I just think they could have done better with some major parts of it.
I just started playing kotor2 and am past the tutorial planet. Hate it. Just wasn't as fun as interesting as koto1's. Anyways I was gonna say I avoided m4-78 when I heard the issues with it. I just want to do a playthrough that will be quicker and not lose a shaz ton.
Who came back to this in anticipation of the remake
I'm so excited, I've always wanted to play it, I'm so happy I'm finally getting to play it
Me too
yep
I actually like Pazaak but it sometimes seems to be rigged in the AI's benefit.
Like how it would get several 20 in a row only with random cards and you end up getting 20+ after only three cards.
Such an awesome game overall, I think I completed it 10+ times (on Xbox, PC and Android).
The reason KOTOR isn't Canon to Starwars is because it takes place in the Zelda universe. See Han Solo with the goddess insignia behind him drinking coffee.
Eric Beall makes sense.
Don't forget about Darth Ganondorf the most powerful Sith Lord of them all.
Haha same
I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when I play Kotor.
Sir Dorky lmaooo
It's like the opposite of watching the Last Jedi
Do you?
Hm..
This is the only game I skipped school for the next day. I finished it in two days my first playthrough non stop. I was 14. It was the best time of my life. I really felt that afterglow affect that practically everyone who played the game back then felt.. that this had to have actually happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..
E-bon Hawk?!
Say it with me, EBON
Eh-bonbon
Just wait until you see the Millenial Unicorn in "episode IX"
Ps:There are only 6 Star Wars movies and 1 holiday special.
@@roberth4395 Rogue 1 is good too
The fact that the fanbase will accept the Holiday special before the new movies shows how horrible the Disney movies are
KOTOR was basically my introduction to games that played like PnP RPGs. It was a blast, and both it and 2 have a special place in my heart.
Rinvak totally! 🍓
me too, I used to think RPGS were JUST about stats and dice rolls, and the 'fun' came from sifting through hundreds items to eqiup the one with the higher number, so you could make some more numbers go down, so I strayed away from the genre. However, I played KOTOR and Deus Ex and it forever changed my views on RPGs and video games in general.
man, I adore this game I'm 17 I first played it with my dad around the age of 4-5 with my dad. after forgetting about it till I was 10 I bought it on steam it was the first game I ever completed and now it's a yearly tradition that I play through both one and two. it's nice to see you play it.
Micah Bell That was beautiful. :')

I like how this game is being reviewed well over a decade after it released.
That just shows how much better a lot of games were back then compared to today's *Coughs* Star Wars Battlefront II *coughs*

Either purple, white or the dark saber for me but each to their own

The original Xbox version is so damn buggy!
Maybe he can also play an updated PC copy
Maybe when 9 comes out

Damn....I wish KOTOR was Canon
Tarlo The Boar I feel like KOTOR becoming canon again in some form is inevitable. I mean, look at Thrawn, a popular EU character that was brought back into the new canon.
Darth Caesar Not only that but iirc, Revan was actually planned to be in a Clone Wars episode but was scraped at the last minute.
Tarlo The Boar Hey at least we got that Revan ripoff Rey, right? Right?!
Tarlo The Boar it’s canon to me!
"There is always a bit of truth in legends"
It has not been contradicted or replaced so you can still count it as canon
Watching this after the remake reveal.
I was in college when KOTOR II was released and this was the talk of all my friends for a long time. I was so happy seeing the 1st one is being remade, it really deserves a more modern look.
seeing that 2 second clip of ME1 has me itching to play again
I never saw the star wars movies, but KotOR 1&2 were a huge part of my life, back before Bioware sucked.
I still hold out hope for a KotOR 3, though I don't trust Bioware or EA anymore, so... Ehhh
Pominator lets hope if their is a third obsidian is developing it(i think cd project red would also do a good job)
the problem is Ea owns the rights to Star Wars games for the next 5 years
KotOR 3 will never happen, mainly because they've already moved past that era in the series. Revan, Bastilla, Meetra, and Carth are long dead, by this point (Ok, so Revan's not *exactly* dead, but that's getting into spoiler territory for the MMO) The closest you'll ever come to a true KotOR 3 experience is the Jedi Knight storyline in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Which is a damned good story, too, and *does* tie into the previous two games. Actually, *all* of the class stories in SWTOR are pretty great, albeit some moreso than others, but it's subjective and really about the kind of person *you* are. I do know people who preferred the Jedi Consular story over all others, but I personally found it a bit boring, at times. The "at times" part is a very important distinction because I *am* glad I played through it, and I *did* have a lot of fun as a Consular, as well. Just not as much as a Knight or Smuggler, which fit my personality (in gaming) as both a man of action and a sarcastic jackass, respectively. Actually, ironically, considering my own dislike of ranged characters, I probably had more fun as the Smuggler than as anyone else. Anyways, point is, SWTOR is great, it's F2P, go play it right now.
Bioware sucks now? I'm way out of the loop, but that...that hurts.
people didn't like Andromeda, the story was fairly generic and didn't live up to the quality that the previous trilogy set.
You didn't miss much with the Yavin DLC. I just remember it being a space ship with extra items.
Oh ho ho ho, you're so wrong. The Yavin DLC contained two most powerful lightsaber crystals, which basically made up the end-game content he found so lacking in the base game.
Expensive, yet broken items. Heart of the Guardian and Mantle of the Force come to mind, plus being unique lightsaber colors.
Wow 14 years later I found out there was DLC for KOTOR 1 I know KOTOR 2 had the restored Content which was great .
there was lot of lore about Exar Kun and battle of Yavin plus one side quest though
I had the dlc and never used it. Didn't know the items were so broken
so many great memories of this game, all my friends and I in middle school would compare playthroughs and give each other tips on how to beat certain parts of the game.
you still got the best intro for a show on youtube. I always restart if i miss it !!

if bioware had a clue they would remaster this game and leave everything alone only graphics....they would make more money off it than any of the other shit they been putting out
Why would they waste money on a remaster when people are still buying the original version at 15 bucks a pop without them having to lift a finger?
Lol you right
better remake 2, with current graphics and actually finish the damn game
Play Kotor 2 on the PC and install the restored content mod.

Cool seeing him do KOTOR. I'm a bit tired of seeing TLJ stuff everywhere though. Also tired of the "Legends stuff disappearing" stuff people come out with, it didnt go anywhere, just because Disney choose to ignore it doesn't mean everyone has to.
He didn't say Legends stuff was disappearing, he said that SWTOR is the only Legends property still being actively developed, which is just a fact.
KotOR 1 and 2 are my favorite games of all time, I’ve played through them both about 50 times combined, sure I played it the same way most of the time and heard the dialogue all those time with out skipping, but every time I play it, I still feel the same as I did the first time I played them

I missed HK in my first playthrough but played it again and it was so funny
so, when do we get kotor 3? Never? ok.
i would love a KOTOR 3, especially after all that Bioware has done with RPGs like this since, it would be the Star Wars equivalent of Skyrim.
Soupmaster101 well obsidian can make it after EA loses their license forms Star Wars games.
I want KotOR 3 _only_ if Obsidian is able to do it, and given all the money and time they need to do it well.
I would not trust modern BioWare to do anything of quality. They are an empty shell of what they once were. No thanks to EA.
yeah. ive been clamoring for a 3rd installment for years, but given the state of the industry as whole right now, im afraid if they did make it now it would just sully the entire series :/
Please buy more lootboxes to fight the Sith Empire. No, my name is not Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts.
KOTOR 2 has just a good of a story and is even more in depth, I recommend trying it out if you ever have the chance. Unfortunately that one DOES have achievements, but they're more there to give you small challenges along the way, rather than making you gather feathers or anything else that's ridiculous or time consuming.
the thing with two is the ending was rushed, some plot points weren't finished and the final fight was... 'ugh'. EA wanted to release it for christmas time and ultimately ruined what would have been a 20/10 game. Having said that, to me, it's still a 15/10 game and i'll always play it after the first one.
If you purchase it through steam it comes with the TSL Restored content mod integrated into the game. So now it is actually a full game :)
Well, sort of. From my experience the restored content's content is not quite as good as the actual game's content, but still adds much more to the game and Kreia's motives, which ties very strongly into the ending.
Matty H it wasnt published by ea tho lol
Kotor 2 has a much more interesting story tbh
Man, I just heard the music in the intro and the magic was back again. The soundtrack is among the best in SW.
Now we just need a remaster
Good news!
Knights of the Old Republic II is arguably better... IF you install the Content Restoration mod (which also fixes gazillions of bugs as well). Fortunately the Steam release of KotOR 2 has been updated more rigorously than KotOR 1's Steam version, and has not only Steam Workshop support, but also support for modern gamepads. This last is actually really good to have, as the KotOR games were previously console exclusive and were noooooooot designed with keyboard and mouse in mind. PC control is a bit awkward.
But in spite of how rushed the original release was, Obsidian is better at writing and designing WRPGs than BioWare is, and that really, really shows in KotOR II.

BrainScratch Commentaries hell i'll drink to that
I would agree with that being able to train your own apprentice is bad ass
I would agree with that, KOTOR I & II are my favourite games of all time but if I prefer TSL overall, especially with the Restored Content Mod.

jeremy arecco No. I'm including spin-offs, not remakes. I don't have seperate listings for Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden. I'm just including the spinoffs: Persona Q, Persona Dancing All Night, and both Arena games (which have seperate plots and thus are two different games). I'm also counting both Persona 2s, as both are mainline Persona entries, even if America didn't get the first one until the remake.
I’m currently a 19yr old college man. When I was younger my dad got a raise and with it a Xbox and this game. It is my favorite game of all time. Surpassed only by Age of Empire II for personal reasons.
Unfortunately I no longer have the Xbox or the game, but that’s why Steam is a thing.
It's on the app store too, the turn based combat works pretty well on a phone.
I love AOE 2 lol
AoE 2 someone did his videogame homework...
if it is surpassed by age of empire, it is not your favorite of all time.
Coming back here after the completion of the Sequel Trilogy and seeing the Completionist talking about some of it has me feeling like i have run face first into a time capsule.
@10:20 was expecting "Galaxy's greatest smuggler" mug with Han's face on it.
Bioware made KotOR once, and then tried to remake it over and over for the rest of their existence.
Mass Effect 1 was a great remake of it.
MrDeedsly not to mention dragon age.
Indeed Chris the first one was amazing.
MrDeedsly I have to agree the first Mass effect was amazing . Mass Effect was what KOTOR 3 could have been.
It lacks lightsabers
But yeah Mass Effect 1 is awesome and a good spiritual successor (I prefer ME2 but ME1 is a really close second)
This is definitely one of my favourite games ever. I remember playing it for the first time when I was around 15 in high school and being sick for a few days but managed to convince my mother to take me to choices (they were a smaller UK blockbusters rival company at the time, now gone) and I chose this to rent for 2 days. Oh man what a perfect choice I made! I was hooked from the start, I got as far as Dantooine and have nice memories of that murder side quest and just watching that giant manta ray fly around the sky. I remember being scared shitless of the Manaan planet (ocean world with the sharks and giant fish) when I was younger and on repeat play throughs id stop when I reached there.
I may be wrong but I believe I went back and rented it once more before purchasing or my parents got me it. What an amazing and wonderful game. The soundtrack is phenomenal too and I always go back and listen to it. I would have never played it if I wasn’t away from school sick too! Anyone who hasn’t played this game should do so, Star Wars fan or not.
Oh I miss old bioware. I love mass effect 1 and 2 and dragon age but new bioware is so bad... such a shame...
I remember Choices; we had one in Bury St. Edmunds. Rented a lot of great '80s action movies there.
Hell yeah, I relate to so much of this experience, down to falling asleep watching the mantas and listening to the music on Dantooine
I have played kotor 1 and 2 like 8 times each to completion and they never get old. Every time is just as fun as the last and I almost always learn something new about the game every time I play. There's so much content, so much stuff you simply cannot see and learn in a single run that makes these games bar none my absolute favourite RPGs of all time. Timeless classics both of them.
A Jedi Counselor?? "Using the darkside is bad, mmmkay."
both starwars and south park references i give you points mate
"in the emperors voice"
Good, good, now do Kotor 2.
Do it!
I shouldn't it not the Jedi way DO IT
Dew it!
You weren't missing much with the Yavin station. The two exclusive lightsaber crystals were OP and threw off the balance of the game, not to mention if you did the dup trick back in the day with the Dragon eye, you could have a dual wielding Jedi/Sith that was virtually unkillable in auto attack.
Laughs as I was already op before that.
Laughs in sith.
Laughs in Solaris crystal Knight with 40 strength. I was on shotting Malak.
That music is just pure nostalgia roaming the fields of dantooine is always great
19:15 should have put a snip of “dark side points gained” 😂. Great video!
Also, the second one is a lot better, you should give it a go, it is much more in-depth, there's a full on crafting system they introduce, more feats, more force powers, more companions, cooler and better items and more in-depth light/dark options that aren't comically over the edge like in the first game. Plus, while playing the game, interacting with characters and gaining influence by sympathizing with their ideals and appealing to their personality traits is super beneficial, not to mention they begin to stray towards whatever your alignment is as a little bonus. Having conversations and learning object lessons from them will grant your character bonus powers that can make a world of difference. For instance, completing the Handmaiden will grant you access to a power that lets you add your wisdom bonus to your defense, which is fantastic for characters, typically consulars, that have inherently high wisdom scores.
BronzieBlue Nothing beats the first ones twist, but I agree, KOTOR 2 is my favorite completely.
Nah, kotor 2 is way worse. It's waaaaaaaay too unpolished. Even with all the restored content, the game feels clunky and as if it was still in alpha stage. Not even beta.
MrKosobi Um...KOTOR 1 is pretty much the same. Kotor 2 is still good, it is much more fleshed out in terms of roleplaying, mechanics and how you interact with characters. Plus all the dialogue options and character dialogue is great. Is it unpolished here and there? Sure. But it doesnt detract from the experience.
Spookerd00dle Gaming Yes, some characters were great, some not really. Mechanics themselves were indeed polished. They way you interacted with characters as well as interactions between themselves were incredibly well executed. Dialogues were great, for the most part. I don't disagree with any of these points.
However planets' design was beyond awful. Kotor 1 had enjoyable planets all the way, Kotor 2 had incredibly boring Peragus, then Telos which was the most dull experience ever (both in terms of claustrophobical interiors as in terms of hyper-dull environmental plot), Korriban robbed of its content, Malachor V is hack'n'slash, Nar Shaddaa on which you just roamed around without a goal, Mandalorian moon with hedious textures taken straight out of Duke Nukem 3d...
Furthermore, quests themselves were very boring and had 0 epicness of the quests from the first game. Just compare the swoop racing: in first kotor you had very elaborate questlines, with various characters, both good and evil, participating in them. In second kotors they aren't even a third of what they were in the first game.
Each planet had something interesting going on, taking you on a trip to explore the planets' secrets. Kotor 2 has boring, dull plots on every planet.
MrKosobi
I couldn't even finish kotor II, I think it was worse when I installed that mod wich expanded the content. I just couldn't bear all that exposition and boring stories.
I mean, I didn't need all those video records about how those people from the mine were killed, just give me a summary and a couple of scenes, man.
They need to make a modern version
nooo thanks. microtransactions and half assed releases are not welcome in my favorite game.
Dan Potato didn't they remastered this?
anime fanboy101 for ios
anime fanboy101 no. Not properly.
Dan Potato nope. They need a fuckton of fans to do a remake. If a company does a remake, it will probably be a super shitty cash grab. Like TOR. But, if fans do it, they have a better chance of getting it right.
I wonder what he thinks now that he found out whose grandaughter Rey is.
Tektum was just thinking this
Honestly? I would have rather had it be Lando
The music makes me full of nostalgia
you should do dragon age origins
Welcome to Episode 3 of me asking Jirard to complete Yakuza 0.
Please complete Yakuza 0.
Haha I'm with you on Jolee's name. I kept calling him "Jolene" in my playthroughs :D
Just started playing it today on my iPad. Impressed so far!
The Star Forge would have make 1000% more logic then starkiller.
EEbaun hawk?
plainstroller
Jack Imaginário boulder's gate
It's funny he got it wrong when it is mentioned several times in the game... in a fully voice acted game...
Big hype for the new remake, dear god please be at least allright.
REMAKE COMING SOON!!!!!!!!
My favorite game of all time!
Yellow light sabers rule also fun fact Jedi who use yellow light sabers are guards who are assigned to protect important people and unlike normal Jedi there light sabers are not important to them they just pick up a random light saber and use it
@Ross O Brien
First of Jedi Guardian use special yellow sabers and special wardrobe, but generally those same rules apply to anyone else. People of specific colors have inclination to specific functions. But Jedi with yellow saber doesn't need to be a guardians. Hell.. there are a Jedi who use pink sabers (natural red crystals) and no one did complain.
TheRezro sorry a UA-camr did a video on some of the saber colours and im not sure if he said all or some use yellow sabers
You guys should explore lore yourself in the actual stories. UA-camrs don't get everything right.
TheRezro I thought it was the sentinels that used yellow sabers. At least KOTOR seems to say that
I thought yellow lightsaber users in KOTOR were "Jedi Sentinels"?
@2:06 - I mean..._technically_ it's Legends. But considering that this series takes place _tens of thousands of years_ prior to the films, it's mostly considered by the quieter fans that this is a "Canon until new material comes out" situation.
But dude, awesome to see you cover one of my fandom's biggest loves!
Have no idea the LOVE I have for this game. By far my favorite top 3 games of all time. The story, the progression, the combat. Something they definitely need to go back to. The story of Darth Revan is barely talked about, and he is one of the most interesting sith in star wars.
I want a KOTOR 1 and 2 HD remaster with the restored content for KOTOR 2.
I just got back into this game when I found out Xbone was compatible with it I’m 3 planets in but god my spark of Rpgs and Star Wars are so high right now love it so much 👏
i didnt know that it was compatible with Xbox one, but now that i do, i SO want to play it right now, you have no idea...
The Gaming Paladin it’s been like that for a minute bro...
I really loved this review and see that you have the sequel on the shelf behind you. PLEASE review The Sith Lords as well? This is great :)
I'd just like to bring to everyone's attention the fact that you can now download the first KOTOR as an app on the app store (for iPads, at least). It comes with the Yavin Space Station DLC by default, btw.
