Agreed, I thought his character in the game was inconsistent. How can you kill so many jedi masters, destroy giant behemoths and even best vader himself and then go out from a little bit of force lightning? It really is a type of plot armor You beat everybody but the main villain because it was already established that he will be beaten in the future.

+TheRezro They're pretty much doing the same thing with the New material. someone on the Storygroup at Lucasfilm said they will choose to ignore things in the New Canon at will if they want and things will be canon until they are contradicted.
@Ironinquisitor Because that always is a option. But at least they do make numerous reference to EU, Lucas in fact always did ignore EU as a whole. Anyway point is that childish outrage against Disney is a nonsense.

I did say this during the stream, “I like to think this game is canon, taking place sometime before Rogue One.” The sequel, on the other hand, isn’t part of my canon.
The only problem with that is the origin of the rebellion is different in this so it does kind of contradict it canon. Still a totally awesome game that's just pure over the top fun
@GalleryOFSuicide Well, it does matter for the continuity reasons. Like when everyone think that Dark Knight is the real Batman when in comic it is else world story. I'm generally pissed when idiots bring TDKR in debate about Superman when those are literally different characters then regular ones. But I totally agree that some people act artistically and start shitting pants about stuff what literally doesn't matter. Everything regard New Canon of Star Wars is so cancerous now with people literally lying about fact to prove own imagined reality. And all that just because of childish hatred of Disney.. ugh!
@Raiden Crow Not really. We do know that there were many rebel groups, so presuming that it brake canon somehow is dumb. Furthermore I don't recall old canon ever mentioning that topic (and by that I mean THE canon, not EU).
the old star wars cannon was a mixed bag. on one hand you have things like the thrawn trilogy and the force unleashed, on the other hand you have Cyrstal Star and Darksaber where Luke joins an evil cult led by a child eating golden blob cuz he thought they were cool and Jaba the Hutt's father builds a third death star to avenge his son but only uses space monkeys to build it.
A few bad stories doesn't instantly make it all bad. There was more good than bad. I agree about The Crystal Star that book was GAWD AWFUL. Jedi Prince was bad too. in that young readers series there is this this kid named Ken who was the grandson of Palpatine. Palpatine's son and father of Ken was a three eyed mutant. weird huh?
when did I say it was all bad? I said it was a mixed bag and cited some things that I think were really good. . . and I burned my copy of the glove of darth vader (another one of the young reader books) I hated it that much when I was a kid XD
Marie Stokes A lot of the EU reads like bad fan fiction. Even though Mara Jade and Thrawn were interesting characters, their stories still had really stupid plot devices. The ones that come to mind are the space monkeys Thrawn has that create a “Force-free zone”, or that he knows his enemies tactics by looking at their art, and the silly “U” thing with the clones.
I think Zahn explained the 'U' thing later as basically a visual way to distinguish one character from another in a non visual medium so he could do things like 'Luuke attacked Luke' and not have to phrase it like 'Luke's clone attacked Luke' but that still doesn't really explain the whole Joruus vs Jorus thing and how Thrawn was able to figure out he wasn't the original because of it. Zahn is one of my favorite sci-fi writers as a whole, I've read a bunch of his non star wars stuff too, but he's always been kinda goofy, even in his own work. But lets face it, star wars has always been a little goofy. Its a series about space wizards.
I remember playing this, then discussing it at school with my friend, and talking about all sorts of secrets (got to love that black lightsaber). This was he first game where I started looking up stuff to find more, and found that cheat code that gives you a million different costumes because why not. Goods times
You know there are some people that truly love and appreciate the Prequels such as myself. I love almost all of the Star Wars movies, OGT, Prequels, FA, but the Prequels are my favorite. And that bad dialogue that everyone is always talking about is actually brilliant. For example the “I don’t like sand” line is referring to Anakin’s life as a slave on Tatooine. The politics in those movies were 100 percent necessary and they were actually really interesting if you payed attention to them. All of it was explaining why and how the Galactic Empire happened. People seriously need to just use their minds and form their own opinions instead of just jumping on the bandwagon.
This is my favorite game of all time. I remember on my 8th birthday I was entirely obsessed with Star Wars and as such, they got me this game for the Wii. I played it over and over and loved it, and got so good at it I could beat it in an hour with out cheats or glitches. About a year later, I used my saved up money to buy the DS version. Once again I loved it and got very good at it. Around 2015 I finally got the XBOX 360 version, with all the DLC. I still play that game and love it to this day. Something about playing as an unheard of Jedi Knight/Sith apprentice (Starkiller) and the fact that it was a Star Wars game where you could wield a lightsaber and the Force. Then I played the second one
Web Head yes because dantooine was there first base then the moved to yavin. It is legends it even says so on the new prints for the book. It was canon under the legends banner.
Ultimate Hedgehog Lmao found the salty... Well i can't really call you a fanboy since you keep acting like an ill informed dipshit. Would edgelord or 12 year old suit you better? You are typing in all caps like it means we're all gonna listen to you, while using some pretty bad grammar
Ah my favourite speedrunning game. Pretty sure I'm the only one who runs the ps2 version, more people should give it a shot! Perfect way to spend an hour or two
I forgot this was part of the original 120 episodes but it was good to see this again and very fitting for this week glad it was still as good as you remembered
These games were always fun to me, the first and the second. I’ve beat them countless times, and I’d put them on my list of my favorite games of all time.
I played the hell out of this game on PS3 when it was released. I have since sold it and regret it because this video has made me want to rediscover it all over again!
I posted this on the original review :p but I remember the PSP port being pretty great. All the cutscenes were in-engine meaning all the skins were shown in cutscenes, no matter what skin and the DLC missions were integrated into the storyline, with most levels being completely different than the main game. It was a great portable game.
I remember having this game in the Wii (I still do in storage, I think), and using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in sync with Starkiller’s power was amazing!
Just speculation here, but he does do this as a job ( i think) so he'll have a lot more time than others, plus he's how many episodes in now? several hundred? So he's had plenty of practice at completing games quickly
He has a team. He's the one that plays the game and record the movie, but he has other's that do the editing, wright the script, etc... Also, he uses his time wisely, sometimes he'll complete faster games and uses his time to start another game that will take more time.
I'm also aware he has a team. Just completing a game like Kingdom hearts 100% will take you 50 hours +, to just complete that in a week seems extremely difficult.
Does anybody else prefer the Wii version to the 360 one? I loved the Wii one, and somehow I felt that the Xbox version controlled worse than the motion controls, and the camera angle and lack of ship HUB just turned me off from it
Years ago I played this game on the ps2 and I loved it. Last year it was free on Xbox one for a month and I was so overly upset with it. It was practically a different game. Entire missions were missing. Cutscenes. Going back to the ship between missions. Apparently they differed between platforms. There was no Jedi temple. No cloud city. No mission to find Kota. You just were like “we need to find Kota” and then it cut to you meeting him. There were minor things too that didn’t matter such as the Vader mission being during the day rather than night. But holy crap the Xbox version seemed like such and inferior version of the game.
Yes this will always be reminder of what good Star Wars use to be, and my light saber color would be a solid Orange fire/ Lava color if I was a Jedi and a solid red color dark saber for Sith.
When was Mace Windu EVER the most badass dude to wield a lightsaber? Forget fora moment he's played by Samuel L. Jackson, Did Mace Windu do ANYTHING cool? I mean, he killed Jango Fett but that's a really low bar.
defeated Sidious, created Vapaad, his feats in original Clone Wars microseries and the list goes on and on, I mean dude was #2 in the order after Yoda.
He didn't defeat Sidious...he was blasted out a window. And If you bring EU stuff into this there are many other jedi with far more impressive feats worthy of "most badass". The only things Windu did in the films was walk, talk, and kill a bounty hunter of note.
Right because Sidious ALLOWED Mace to DISARM him, kick him to the ground and destroy his face. It was stated by Dooku that he and Yoda were the only Jedi capable of defeating him in duel.
Is it weird that I find the Wii version's graphics much more appealing? For those who don't know, the lighting is much less saturated, the colors are better and there is no bloom and fewer particles. The Wii version also had additional levels set in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, which were very well done.
Fun fact: the original review was the last of first 120th episodes I watched on UA-cam, right before it was deleted (fortunately, I have downloaded all those lost episodes).
The first time i felt like a badass in a star wars game was before the 2000s. Roll back the clock to the mid 90s and a little LucasArts gem called Star Wars: Tie Fighter. You are put in the shoes of an imperial pilot cadet and tasked to defend the empire from rebel scum who are dead set to destroy the beloved empire you have sword allegiance to. You go from piloting the plain jane Tie-Fighter and over the course of the game you find out secret plots to your beloved emperor and advancing in rank till you are piloting the most advanced Tie-Fighters in the imperial fleet. You become one of the most trusted of the emperor, flying wingman to Darth Vader and even flying escort for the emperor himself.
I want it to be canon again. So much better than the crap they have in its place like Rebels. I hope one day they’ll make a force unleashed movie trilogy where they can take the first two games, and adapt them to fit in with the new canon. And then finish off the trilogy with a third film that rounds off the story we never got a satisfying ending for. (They kidnap Vader in part 2 and we never see what happens after the game ends because 3 was cancelled when Disney bought Star Wars)
The Force Unleashed makes Vader wanting Luke to turn to the Dark Side make alot more sense. Vader wanted to take down the Emperor, he failed with Galen so he tried with Luke. In the end he took down his master, just not how he wanted
Amazing job dudes! And it's still awesome to me how you guys took on the challenge to complete these games again because of the circumstances. Keep up the great work!
I still don't understand why they can't both be separate canons. It makes sense for Disney to say "For these new movies, we're writing new backstory" because that means they can avoid trapping themselves by accidentally ignoring some other part of the Expanded Universe. Nobody said you can't enjoy the other canon in tandem with the new one.
Before i had a 360, i bought it on Wii, amazing game. Control are little "cluncky" but the story is a little different from the HD version. For me, its a Win-win situation.
Star Wars is Shit now, sadly. ( to clarify I like Episode 1-6 more or less, hell Episode 1 produced one of my favorite games of all time, Star Wars Podracer.)
If only we could go back to the prequels....truly the greatest iteration of Star Wars. Really miss the amazing storytelling of the midichlorians and well-written, likable characters such as Jar Jar
UncleFriis There are. I consider myself one of them. There are others too, but they seem to avoid comments sections like the plague whenever they can....I don't blame them.
I was a fan of the original Legends. Ever since Star Wars became more of a corporate cash cow it lost its identity. I was young enough that I found Jar Jar funny and kid Anakin relatable and my siblings skipped the romance parts in Attack of the Clones, so I actually have a soft spot for the prequels. Yeah. We're kind of trapped when it comes to commenting behind the whole philosophy of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." I have no problem if people like Disney Star Wars, but every time we critique new Star Wars, we just get called whiny bitches who are angry they didn't make "our Star Wars". Since it's the internet, it isn't like we can expect that to never happen so we just stay away from unnecessary drama.
Jacob Greenstone Yeah the extremists on both sides really ruin it for the rest of us. If you don't like the new films and explain why. then you're just a "Whiny fanboy". If you like the new films and explain why, then you're just a "SJW", or "not a TRUE Star Wars fan". I'm all for a good debate on the topic, but the attempts to try and invalidate the other person's opinion before an actual discussion can even start are just sad.

What color would your lightsaber be?
The Completionist
Purple because I would use both dark and light side powers.
That and SAMUEL L. MOTHER F***ING JACKSON!
Orange or black
Malevolence Dark
Why not both?
A dark orange
I was always told in KOTOR I would be a Sentinel or Consul...so Green. But I always picked Guardian (Blue)...because Force Jump was just worth it.

that was a very interesting and weird alternate timeline, huh?

Yup
And his ghost can still talk to Luke.

Starkiller was originally Luke Skywalker's name. I agree its a shame he isn't canon any longer.
Yup, that's kinda funny. When they were making the game they took inspirations from some of George Lucas very first ideas concerning the franchise.
Starkiller Base was a metaphor for Snoke and Ben Solo's relationship.

Everything regard New Canon of Star Wars is so cancerous now with people literally lying about fact to prove own imagined reality. And all that just because of childish hatred of Disney.. ugh!
@Raiden Crow
Not really.
At least the old EU didn't trace artwork from random star wars fans art
I used to watch this game religiously as a smaller kid and getting it now when I can play if for myself is absolutely magical
I always love popping in my copy of The Force Unleashed. I just wish a lot more people got the opportunity to do so. Not everyone has heard pf it
I grew up playing the wii version, the force unleashed remains my favorite game of all time
I remember playing this, then discussing it at school with my friend, and talking about all sorts of secrets (got to love that black lightsaber). This was he first game where I started looking up stuff to find more, and found that cheat code that gives you a million different costumes because why not. Goods times
I can't believe this came out 10 years ago! I remember so clearly being amazed by the game's reveal trailer.
Ps2 version is best. It literally has more levels and I feel like more abilities and atmosphere. Just better overall really.
And the Textures aged a lot better
Yeah I felt like the upgrades by the end of the game you were more powerful too
No that’s just my opinion
No. Heard this before and it’s never true. Get over your nostalgia.
The lightsaber customization was also better imho
played through that on the Wii like 9-10 times
One cutscene would cause the game to freeze and crash on my 360. Even worse that I don't think I could have skipped the cutscene.
It was a bit to strong for that gen
Still waiting to see how Darth Vader escapes the rebels at the end of Force Unleashed II :(
Web Head k
Web Head it is, it's in the legends timeline list
Web Head Woah there bud, calm down
Web Head yes because dantooine was there first base then the moved to yavin.
Galen Marek and his story of the rebel crest was so cool and I accept that origin of the rebellion because the hella cool main character
Ah my favourite speedrunning game. Pretty sure I'm the only one who runs the ps2 version, more people should give it a shot! Perfect way to spend an hour or two
This game along with the clone wars tv show was my introduction to Star Wars. It was so much fun.
TFU!?! I Love TFU!! (Says it like an actually word not an acronym. Cause saying TFU!!!!! is really fun.)
The wii port of this game was flawless. Love the motion control force powers. Super psyched for the switch re-release.
The PSP version was the real deal!👌 But this one enjoyed alot I did!😜
Boi DS all the way👏🙌
Psp ps2 and wii were all the same original versions. Xb and ps3 are changed
Garcia Hotspur you don’t sound like Yoda, you sound like a dumbass
I forgot this was part of the original 120 episodes but it was good to see this again and very fitting for this week glad it was still as good as you remembered
I played Force Unleashed 2 on May 4th and I have to say it was pretty fun.
Kratos Aurion Plays Liked for the user name as much as the comment
How does this guy not have over a million subscribers like wtf the content is good
Your videos are always so fun and funny! Keep up the incredible work!!
Hope you hit a million subscribers soon. You deserve every one.
Thanks my dude!
I'd love to play this game one day. Also a black lightsaber would be awesome.
"A faithful representation of the use of the Force." Oh yeah i remember when Luke pulled a Star destroyer out of the sky
Loved finding Jarjar frozen like Han Solo in Stern's trophy room
Loved this. Can't wait for the force unleashed 2 completionist 📹
He already did it👍
These games were always fun to me, the first and the second. I’ve beat them countless times, and I’d put them on my list of my favorite games of all time.
One of my favorite games thank you Beard man
I played the hell out of this game on PS3 when it was released. I have since sold it and regret it because this video has made me want to rediscover it all over again!
2:58 WAIT WHAT ANAKIN COULD USE FORCE LIGHTING?!?!?!
As always, wonderful video!
Yeah he couldnt do as vader cause it would of fried his cybernetics
I posted this on the original review :p but I remember the PSP port being pretty great. All the cutscenes were in-engine meaning all the skins were shown in cutscenes, no matter what skin and the DLC missions were integrated into the storyline, with most levels being completely different than the main game. It was a great portable game.
I've got the PS2 version.
I remember having this game in the Wii (I still do in storage, I think), and using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in sync with Starkiller’s power was amazing!
I originally played on the PSP.
Excellent game.
Gray Griffon
What was the PSP version like?
360 PS3 And PC version,
Wii and PS2 version,
Or the DS version?
Scott Radcliffe the PSP version is the same as the PS2/Wii version but it has an arena mode
"Reshaping what we expect"
Something something pride and accomplishment.
You should review Lego Starwars 3 The Clone Wars since you reviewed the complete saga
"Reshaping what we expect from our virtual trip to a galaxy far, far away..."
Yeah, that's putting it lightly, especially with Battlefront 2 footage.
Love this game!
Wish we got a new game. I enjoyed the 2nd one also.
My ALL TIME favorite piece of Star Wars media. PERIOD.
Oh god I love and miss playing this game
dudebox1
Then go buy a copy on Amazon.
Scott Radcliffe I still have it smartass. Thanks for your input though there bud
11:18 "Nobody touch me! This is my personal bubble!"
Love that line!!
How does this guy complete so many games so fast?!
Project Gamer it's his full time job dude.
Just speculation here, but he does do this as a job ( i think) so he'll have a lot more time than others, plus he's how many episodes in now? several hundred? So he's had plenty of practice at completing games quickly
I'm aware it's his full time job, it's still an extremely difficult feat to complete 2-3 games a week 100% and then finish a video on each of them.
Starkiller Jirard makes that bearded Sith Acolyte look amazing.
Jirard, you've mentioned killing kids an alraming amount during this video. You okay dude? (Lol)
You have never ceased to dissapointed me you are amazing and your content is the best I have seen in youtube in ages! Keep making great content 👍👍👍
Does anybody else prefer the Wii version to the 360 one? I loved the Wii one, and somehow I felt that the Xbox version controlled worse than the motion controls, and the camera angle and lack of ship HUB just turned me off from it
Yeah Wii was better gameplay wise and the other consoles story wise
Agreed controls are better plus it was the only version with duel mode
this is the first game i played in my life when i was like 5 or 6 on my ps 3
i played this on ps2 and ps3 i think? starkiller was cool but 2 really just bad imo
your original review of this game is what made me go and buy it, one of my favorite games
Yeah the PS2 & PSP had the better version. At least story wise.
Mason ps2 Force unleashed >>>>>> Xbox Force unleashed. let's be honest
PS2 was much better, Everything felt more fluid
This game was so epic. It really showed how powerful the force could be. If any game needs a HD remaster it's this one
I prefer the KOTOR and Jedi Knight games over Force Unleashed.
Ironinquisitor
I got a copy of Jedi outcast recently for the GameCube.
me too, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy made you feel what it is to be a Jedi or Sith. People still play the MP of Jedi Academy today!!!
Gotta play on the PC, though, and try out the wealth of mods available. :D
Duh, KOTOR is a masterpiece rpg and Jedi Knight is the best lightsaber simulator. Force Unleashed is just a dated, bland action game.
I have it on Gamecube as well as PC
Holding the light saber backwards is the Star Wars equivalent of holding a gun sideways
"Worst Day Shift Manager Ever"
This is still my favorite achievement in any game, bar none.
Jackson,
Did Mace Windu do ANYTHING cool? I mean, he killed Jango Fett but that's a really low bar.
defeated Sidious, created Vapaad, his feats in original Clone Wars microseries and the list goes on and on, I mean dude was #2 in the order after Yoda.
He didn't defeat Sidious...he was blasted out a window.
And If you bring EU stuff into this there are many other jedi with far more impressive feats worthy of "most badass".
The only things Windu did in the films was walk, talk, and kill a bounty hunter of note.
In the movies he simply doesn't get a whole lot of attention. He's pretty damn badass if you take the Clone Wars franchise into consideration.
Right because Sidious ALLOWED Mace to DISARM him, kick him to the ground and destroy his face. It was stated by Dooku that he and Yoda were the only Jedi capable of defeating him in duel.
He defeated Darth Sidious, he destroyed an army of over 500 B2 battle droids without a lightsaber, he crushed general grievous chest. Need I say more?
The metroid poster on the background is so dope
Do Paper Mario TTYD
And also do Stardew Valley
Please!!!
Jirard isn't a big fan of slice of life games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and the like.
I completed this game. It was like watching a ballet of death.
The Wii port is the superior version, hands down.
Is it weird that I find the Wii version's graphics much more appealing?
For those who don't know, the lighting is much less saturated, the colors are better and there is no bloom and fewer particles. The Wii version also had additional levels set in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, which were very well done.
Anyone watching this after finishing Jedi fallen order?
David B sadly I havent played Fallen Order get. Looking forward to it though.
This was the first game I ever completed. I was so obsessed with it.
I can't even remember the last decent Star Wars game anymore...
minonano Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens
The Lego star wars games.
But yeah you can thank EA for that.
Fun fact: the original review was the last of first 120th episodes I watched on UA-cam, right before it was deleted (fortunately, I have downloaded all those lost episodes).
Kyle Katarn would like a word, Jirard.
Edit: On PC
This was the first game I ever played on Xbox 360. Here's to good memories!
Best lightsaber combat? Ummmm, no. That would be Jedi Knight 2. Not to mention Kyle Katarn was more badass imho.
Joseph Curry I thought Force Unleashed combat was better than any of the Jedi knight games
Force Unleashed will always be my go to Star Wars Game
When can we get a jar jar binks spin off game?
Madshepherd actually I believe TFU3 was cancelled prior to the sale because the devs were angry at how much flack TFU2 got.
The Force Unleashed makes Vader wanting Luke to turn to the Dark Side make alot more sense. Vader wanted to take down the Emperor, he failed with Galen so he tried with Luke. In the end he took down his master, just not how he wanted
The Wii version was my favorite. Motion-controlled Force powers, it was my favorite game to play as a kid.
To me, all Star Wars is Cannon. Just take's place in a parallel universe. I blame Rick and Morty for this.
One thing you (probably) didn't know: "Starkiller" was originally supposed to be Luke's last name before the movies were made.
Incoming Star Wars' quotes.
Sovash Chetty Hello there!
HOO BOY GENERAL KENOBI
Would you like a death stick?
Do it
I have the high ground!
Great job recompleting this Jirard and crew! I can't frickin wait for final fantasy 7... I'm foaming at the mouth my dudes.
The Wii version is the best one.
Change my Mind
I had forgotten how well the original score for this game fits with those classic Williams themes.
Did you unlock the hidden hank hill skin
That boi ain't right....
Amazing job dudes! And it's still awesome to me how you guys took on the challenge to complete these games again because of the circumstances. Keep up the great work!
Disney's canon is #NotMyCanon
ok
+Jake Cuervo
Disney Canon= Star Wars Infinities.
Legends= REAL Canon.
Look! More salty fanboys!
Sorry kids. Disney canon is the real canon.
Children of the Force everyone. That is all.
Congrats dude, you're 1/10 of the way through New Game Plus! Keep up the good work!
Did anyone else REALLY prefer the Wii version?
Skrr Skrrt i did.
The wii version graphics were awful.
Skrr Skrrt I played it before the HD version, but I still prefer the HD version.
Before i had a 360, i bought it on Wii, amazing game. Control are little "cluncky" but the story is a little different from the HD version. For me, its a Win-win situation.
Artisbot it was all I knew
this game was my child hood favorite with his new half human half robot costume. but my favorite light saber color is classic good old red
Star Wars is Shit now, sadly. ( to clarify I like Episode 1-6 more or less, hell Episode 1 produced one of my favorite games of all time, Star Wars Podracer.)
UncleFriis no
If only we could go back to the prequels....truly the greatest iteration of Star Wars.
"Never before had players been able to express themselves so effortlessly and violently in such a faithful recreation of the Star Wars universe."
Dark Forces: Jedi Knight - _| ̄|○
I miss this game sooooo much
I had this on the PS3 and I really wanna go through it again
So the DS port of this was my exposure to The Force Unleashed. Loved that port with a passion.
