I remember a friend banging on about Still Game for years and all I could think is "why would I want to watch a tv show about a load of old codgers?" anyway long story short I got bored one night and I've now seen it more times than I can count, love it.
Side note; I also now work in a care home for old people, best job I've ever had.

    OK, suggestions.
Underrated - Space, Above and Beyond. Short lived, inhumanely cancelled sci-fi stuff from the states. The story ended on a cliff hanger, never to be resolved. Speaking of which….
Terminator - The Sarah Conner Chronicles. One of those bits of media poorly remembered, but really solid. Also inhumanely cancelled, and on a helluva cliff hanger. Also starred Shirley Manson out of Garbage, and if that’s not reason to watch it, I don’t know what is.

    Underrated: Mine All Mine.
A miniseries from the mid 2000s written by Russell T Davies and starring Griff Rhys Jones as an eccentric taxi driver who believes the city of Swansea rightfully belongs to him. He claims his ancestors owned the land Swansea was built on, and he has the paperwork to prove it. It was a funny, quirky show that I’d almost completely forgotten about. It’s definitely worth a watch.

    Probably posted before but
Underated: How Not To Live your Life: 20 something single man inherits a house and comedy comes by way of his inner thoughts which we get to see. I know only 2 people that watched this and I dont think its been repeated. Has a similar feel to Peep Show but a bit more bizarre.
Great: Round the Twist: Strictly speaking a kids show but I bought the boxset a few years back and its a great show even in my middle years especially the earlier ones, they changed the cast a few times but series 1 for me is the classic. Short stories about a family moving to a lighthouse in Australia and all sorts of crazy things happen with ghosts and curses etc. So well done and the stories are well written, probably my favourite show as a kid + it was on a Friday afternoon so can associate it with the weekend.
I dont think I have anything bad, I'm sure Friends has been offered up many times for its sheer plastic-ness.

I discovered Still Game in early 2022 when it came up as a suggestion on Netflix - I gave it a go after several of my Scottish friends recommended it to me years prior. I've never looked back since, it's a masterpiece of a sitcom and it got me through some very dark depressive episodes in the last two years!

This is such a fun channel! I always enjoy your videos and this series especially.
Anyway, here are a handful of picks off the top of my head:
    Good:
My So-Called Life - Gritty and realistic teen series that was far ahead of its time and featured a who's who of actors, who became stars in the following years. That it only lasted one season is evidence that back in the 90's, the TV networks didn't know a good thing, when they saw it. Ever since it aired however, it's sparked a world full of imitations of varying quality.
The New Statesman - Rik Mayall led comedy series that provided some of the best political satire seen since "Yes Minister" and especially for those who weren't fans of the Thatcher era, it was a much-needed middle finger to her style of governing. It's just sad that it didn't last longer on TV than it did, because it arguably ended at its peak.
Firefly - Joss Whedon's follow up to his hit series "Buffy- the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", that soured him on working in TV ever again. Brilliant episodes, brilliant characters and the kind of world building that you only rarely see, especially on one of the big networks. Thankfully though, a movie was made to cap the series off, that's one of my favorite sci-fi movies of that era.
    Underrated:
Swedish Dicks - Dark comedy series about two Swedish guys, who start up a private detective agency in the US and starring the brilliant Peter Stormare (the guy who put Steve Buscemi in the wood chipper in "Fargo"), not to mention that they had Keanu Reeves in a couple of episodes playing one of the best bad guys, I can remember seeing on any TV show. Why it wasn't better received is a mystery to me, because all of the elements were in place to create a truly one-of-a-kind detective series.
The Lone Gunmen - Spinoff of the X-Files, that for the most part was just a great, if not better than its parent series. In the end though, ratings decide everything and it sadly wasn't appreciated in its time, like it should have been.
The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour - First you're confused, as to what the hell is going on. Then, you become even more confused, before you realize that you're watching something that's truly original and not the least, very funny! The series was a creation of the three leading actors from "Trailer Park Boys", who all play lots of different characters in what was a delightfully politically incorrect series, before that sort of thing became a no-no. That it also stars a pre- Parks and Rec Amy Poehler in a couple of the episodes only makes it even better. Not to mention that you have a radio station in the series, who are counting down the one thousand "Gayest Pirate Songs of all-time" and the lyrics to all of those songs are just downright hilarious!
    Bad:
Thunder in Paradise - A series starring Hulk Hogan, where the only good thing you can say about it is that it was cancelled after its one and only season! The characters were all generic Baywatch knock-offs, Hulk had clearly given up on the series before they were halfway through shooting the season and ever since I watched it back in my teens, I've tried my hardest to block it out of my memory!
Baywatch Nights - Speaking of Baywatch, how about a series where "The Hoff" plays the same character as he did on that show, only now he does private detective work in his spare time? The acting was bad, most of the stories even worse and after the first season flopped in the ratings, they tried a make a C-level X-Files knock-off series out of it in the second season, to sometimes hilariously bad results, although for the most part it was just bad, period! It's one of those series that you should only watch, if you REALLY love TV when it's at its worst!
The American version of "Coupling" - The original British series is still one of my all-time favorite comedy series, that I can watch again and again and still laugh, but the American version of it is nothing short of horrendously bad! What's worse is that all they did was cut and paste entire storylines from the British series, only there was none of the comedic energy that made the original work and for this reason, all of the jokes just fell flat. Honestly, how anyone could think that such an approach would work baffles me, but thankfully it was mercy-killed after only one season!
    Keep up the great work!

    Neverwhere: i liked it.
I remember in like 2004 there was a show in the UK that revolved around a girl who had some sort of magical powers or some kind of a witch or something and I don't remember it being on for more than a couple of seasons, and I don't think it was called hex, but I can't remember because those years were very blurry for me.

Never "got" Still Game despite the efforts of a Celtic-supporting neighbour. It ran for long enough though, so I guess that's my loss.
Of shows you've covered before, Big Train deserved a better review. Unlike so many sketch shows it didn't rely on repeated catchphrases that you could see coming a mile off (cough, cough, Harry Enfield). I also remember enjoying Spatz as a young lad, but that's probably best left in the past!
    Suggestions:
Underrated: Wonderfalls. An American series by Bryan Fuller that was cancelled after 4 episodes on Fox, but later had the full 13 episode season released on DVD.
Good: What We Do In The Shadows. A mockumentary-style sitcom about a group of vampires living in Staten Island, created by Jermaine Clement (of Flight Of The Conchords, another great show) and Taika Waititi; and starring Matt Berry.
Bad, or rather Weird: Night & Day. A soap-opera/Twin Peaks-style drama which aired on ITV in the early 2000s. The "gimmick" was that it initially had a prime-time version coupled with a late night version with more "adult" content. Occasionally had odd "meta" scenes, such as a character referencing previous entry Sunset Beach (in Spanish!) when her partner suggested fertility treatment. Very odd it was!

Here are 2 underrated and excellent police shows -
Wellington Paranormal. A New Zealand comedy show based on the Paranormal division of the Wellington police department, its really 3 cops in a cupboard. Ran for 4 series from 2018 to 2022 in which they deal with all manor of things including Aliens, Werewolves and Vampires. Kind of a spin off from the What We Do in the Shadows movie.
Backstrom. Set in Portland, Oregon, Everrett Backstrom played by Rainn Wilson leads a team of criminologists of the Portland PD Special Crimes Unit. Pretty basic crime show but has an excellent cast, sadly cancelled after one season in 2015.

Two shows I feel were underrated:
'We Are Klang' - An early Greg Davies vehicle on BBC 3 that was a cross of Monty Python and The Office.
Criminally never repeated but thankfully on UA-cam.
'Urban Gothic' - One of Channel 5's earliest original programmes. A horror anthology set in London that covered the vast umbrella of sub horror genres including 70s B-Movies (EP: "Pineapple Chunks"), Psychological (EP: "Sandman") and Found Footage (EP: "Vampirology").

    This one's getting weird.
Good: Something Is Out There (1988)
Three hour American miniseries with a sci-fi/action/horror vibe in the vein of The Hidden, The Thing and Alien, where a homicide cop teams up with alien Maryam D'abo to track down (mostly) disguised beasties. High production values and great effects work by American Werewolf's Rick Baker.
Bad: Something Is Out There (1988)
Hastily pushed into full series production after the success of the miniseries only with a fifth of the budget, they pulled a V. it was decided aliens weren't the hook, gave D'abo psychic powers and sent the duo on vaguely supernatural romantic detective 'adventures' with minimal FX. Genius.

There was also a graphic novel adaptation of Neverwhere. Which is well worth a look.
Came back to me the other day: Superstars. BBC1 in the 70's had members of the public doing silly sports in it's a knockout. But they also had Superstars. Actual sports people competing in various sporting events. Usually ones outside their own discipline. For the title of Superstars. I think David Vine presented it. One of those things that was fine at the time - because there was nothing much else on - but wouldn't interest so much now. Sticks in the mind because in one edition, after one event, British Squash Champion Jonah Barrington pulled out of the show before the episode had finished because he was unhappy with how the rules of the event had been implemented. Which did not impress my dad at all, who called him 'Cry Baby Barrington'. A name which stuck in our house for a little bit.
One other contestant was British Ladies Javelin champion Tessa Sanderson. Who I met at the end of 1977 and got to shake the hand of, when she did a meet and greet among spectators at a football match I attended. Don't know how far that would get me in six degrees of Separation.

Long time watcher, but first time... uh... Suggester? Is that the word? Anyway, here are a few:
Excellent - What We Do in the Shadows (FX, 2019 - Present): Due to end with a sixth and final season, which is a shame because the show is good enough to go on for many more! Has a brilliant cast, with a particular highlight being the incomparable Matt Berry as Lazslo Cravensworth (a.k.a normal human bartender - Jackie Daytona). But then again, Berry is hilarious in everything he has ever done. Also builds off the foundations of the 2014 film of the same name.
Excellent - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX, 2005 - 2012, FXX, 2013 - Present): I'd always heard good things about Always Sunny but never saw it until a few years ago. The first season didn't have Danny DeVito in it, but you could tell there was something special there between Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Rob McElhenny and Kaitlin Olson, but with DeVito joining from Season 2 onwards, the show has been one non-stop ride of hilarious moments that'll make you cringe and think to yourself "How has this show not been cancelled online yet?".
Underrated - Blake's 7 (BBC1 1978 - 1981): Wobbly sets, bizarre costumes, easily broken props, and some way out there scripts all done on a budget cheaper than the one Doctor Who had at the same time. This one is more interesting from a character standpoint, especially for scenes with the late Gareth Thomas' Roj Blake, and the sardonically witty Kerr Avon played by the deliciously scene-chewing late Paul Darrow. (Fun fact: If you ever played the video game MediEvil on the PlayStation, Darrow voiced the evil warlock Zarok!)
Underrated - Ted (Peacock, 2024 - Present): Just finished watching this one with the missus, the other day. If you enjoyed the two Ted films with Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg, this prequel show is good for a few laughs. The main character's father is played by the guy who voices Steve Smith in American Dad, another MacFarlane creation, so it gets a bit weird to hear his voice at times. Has now been confirmed to be getting a second series.
Underrated - Jeeves and Wooster (ITV, 1990 - 1993): Fry and Laurie, who you can hardly go wrong with, playing the roles they were perhaps born to play (save for Hugh Laurie's turn as the titular character in House). Really nice adaptations of the P.G. Wodehouse books, and a fun little jazz swing theme song to boot. Bonus points to Fry and Laurie on account of them knowing the show would be made with or without them, and they felt no one else would do the parts justice, being such big fans of the source material.

"Early Doors" (pub-based comedy drama written by Craig Cash. Got kinda overshadowed by "The Royle Family," "mrs Merton" and the other shows either featuring or written by Craig Cash and/or Carolyn O'hearn).
"Phoenix Nights" (lovely working men's club comedy drama by Peter Kay & co. This one got massively overshadowed by Ricky Gervais's "The Office" and cringe-comedy in general. I much prefer Phoenix Nights though).
"The PJS" (Claymation animated sitcom starring Eddie Murphy as a building superintendent in an American housing Project aka "PJs." Really good stuff. I suspect TV stations both in the US and UK [Channel 4] didn't know how to pitch and market this one to audiences).
