Great video! Not long at all. Very informative, detailed, and thoughtful. I have been eyeing the bags you review and now, *jklux* I am going to buy the Demellier midi New York. I have the Dragon Diffusion and love it. Top video! Thank you so much!.
Thank you so much for not talking through the whole thing with unnecessary details and personal opinions about products. Your work shows everything it needs to. So refreshing.
I've bought some terrible fakes in the past, but the three fake bags I recently bought were amazing! I'm glad the ones I bought at *condup* are great and I'm glad I own the ones I made, but I'll be saving up for the genuine ones in the future
The sad part is even when I buy authentic bags someone because I am African American will assume it’s fake. But some people think the bag I bought from *hotdups* is genuine.
This is a beautiful restoration and a beautiful presentation of that restoration. No talk. No music. Good camera angles. It was peaceful and satisfying to watch. Thank you!

I absolutely LOVE the vintage Coach bags. They’re so elegant and timeless, and they were built to last. I’m so glad you put in the time to restore this timeless classic. I wish that Coach went back to that for their handbags instead of trying to be trendy. The quality of their modern bags are not the same as their vintage bags.
I found this bag at Goodwill for $4.00. I put it in my washer with a little Dove body wash on the gentle cycle because it was so dirty I felt I had little to lose. Let it air dry for three days then conditioned and polished it. It turned out beautifully! I love vintage Coach!
Amazing 😻 I would never think of putting my bag in the washing machine amazing how much this video looked after I bought many bags in the 80s and there in excellent condition! Ty so much for sharing!!!!!!!
You inspired me to look for a City Bag myself and clean/restore it. I found one that was in pretty good condition, I didn't need to do too much but a cleaning and conditioning. However, not knowing what this bag held, I decided to wash it fully like you did here. I used Lexol Leather cleaner instead of Dawn. MAN, was it gross - while the bag looked decent enough, what came out in the wash was a heavy brownish pinkish fluid. It took me 7 - 8 rinses to get it to run clear. It's drying on my deck (out of sunlight) now with towels stuff in there to soak up the moisture. Thank you for making these videos, so nice to learn how to restore a nice leather piece.
Looks great! Just a note for anyone undertaking a restoration that a serious amount of buffing is needed to prevent the new leather stain from transferring off the bag.
Great video! Just a few observations regarding a potential rehab bag. This bag was a perfect rehab candidate, being in excellent condition in several important ways. One is that the stitching was completely tight. There were no loose or broken stitches. Another is the piping was not especially worn. It's not unusual for vintage Coach bags to have piping that is worn completely through, especially in vulnerable areas. Some of the bags are constructed to stand up on their own (this one is not) so the bottom piping would tend to be worn. This bag also didn't have any stains that had to be removed. That has always been my biggest problem. I've never been able to do that. This makes me want to try another one. Thanks so much!
That was my first Coach purchase and I still have it. I think I’m going to order the products you used here and clean mine. I was going to take mine to Goodwill but after seeing your video, I’ll restore and keep it. It’s now vintage.
Thank you so very much for showing in detail how to care for these bags! I have quite the collection and hope to follow your lead on how to bring them back to life!
OMG! It turned out gorgeous. I have a Coach thick black leather bucket handbag that I bought brand new decades ago. I’m definitely giving her this spa rehab. Thank you for sharing ❤
thankyou, finally found someone like me who washes the purse. I wash my purses often and do that similar like you. And they are running well since decades. The towel drying is the key ❤
¿De verdad se puede sumergir un bolso de buena piel en agua con lavavajillas y frotarlo ?😱 A pesar de haberlo visto , no entra en mi mente, me parece una aberración, por favor necesito confirmación !!
I have a doney Burke that looks just like the before picture! I would have never thought to wash it a tub of water. And then to see how dirty the water was when you dumped it out 😮. I would be curious about the transfer after you put the black on the bag. Very nice job
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *hotdups* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
If you can wear a high quality *preluxz* for $200-500, then why not. I'm glad to hear that rich people do this because if I was a billionaire or had $500 million in the bank account, I would only spend the money on the authentic. That would never happen.
@@shaec3405 no, she is washing out the dirt and pathogens. That bag was deeply dirty! Dye made for leather is always a better option. Angelus brand, Fieblings is another.
I have this bag in black too and haven't used it in years because of the wear, I was about to give it away but as a last resort I looked on You Tube and found your video! As soon as I can get the Saphir products I'm going to restore the bag!! Can't wait to do it and put the back back into service!! Thanks and I love that you don't speak, its not necessary!!
I'm very happy with the *rrcopys* package. Beautiful storage compartments. Looks and feels like leather. The shoulder straps and zipper are of high quality. Very happy with the purchase.
Thank you for this video! I followed your steps and was able to save my favorite leather satchel that I had stopped using because it was so scratched up. I kept it in the back of my closet for years because I just couldn't bear to throw it away. So glad I kept it and saw your video! One question. Does the new stain ever rub off onto clothing?
Bags in D U P B A G Y are quite exquisite, and the workmanship is also meticulous. There is almost no difference from the original ones, and they are great value!
I bought my first Coach bag eons ago when I graduated from college and had my first "real" job. After years of use, it was relegated to the back of the closet until I resurrected it with a refurbish. I use it frequently and often have women stop me and comment on my vintage Coach!
Saphir products are great to use for leather. I just conditioned my louis vuitton vachetta leather with Saphir balm (jojoba oil) and the leather immediately looked and felt better.
My first Coach purse was this exact style but in brown. I bought it at a thrift store for $5 21 years ago when I had no idea what Coach was. A few years later began my collection. At one point I owned about 60 Coach bags & matching wallets. 6 years ago I sold most of them and went with Pacsafe bags & wallets. I care more now about protecting what's inside my bag rather than carrying a flashy status symbol. Still though, I kept a few Coach sets as they are my favorites.
I'm so glad your video found me. I have a bag similar to this one (not Coach) that is old and dirty. I will try your process so I can use it for many more years. Thank you so much. ❤❤

Well done! So soothing to watch and not be disbursed by background music or chitchat! I’m gonna pull my purses out and polish them up! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent! Question, did you need to let the bag dry on each side before you moved on to the other side?
I find found a pair of Feragammo loafers at the thrift store ( $10) and did the same process as you ( not restaining) and all of the creases came out and with the moisturizing using mink oil they came out looking almost new.
I have a big heavy Coach Bucket Bag that I got in 1998 to use as a diaper bag for my son. I'm about to pull that beauty out and clean her up!!! Thank you for this video.

This is going to be an oddly specific question, but what does the inside of the bag look like after restoration? I've acquired a beat up Coach 9011, and I am terrified of ruining the rough-out panels.
The inside of a similar Coach bag is shown in a previous restoration video. After the wash and towel-blocking to dry it looked amazingly fresh. Might check it out.

I use Angelous leather dye to refurb mine. It stays in the leather vs a polish. Plus they have charts of exact color matching
Dye is the proper way to go. It saddens me every time I see someone paint one of these awesome old bags with shoe polish.
May I ask for the link to find the chart for the exact color matching? This would be great for some shoes I love but don't want to get rid of
