    When stitching with a needle with a ball, just take a normal needle to put your threat under other threats when finished.
    Your work is beautiful

    I loved seeing Winston who reminds me of my dog Stanley who is part Chihuahua. And I love the piece you are stitching of him. So cute! All of your stitchy pieces are beautiful. We stitch such different things but I always enjoy watching to see how much progress you have made or what you are starting. Placing 7000 out of 27,0000 isn’t bad. You did pretty well. Again, I really enjoyed your interview. It was fun to learn more about you. Enjoy your next couple,of weeks!

    Great video again Andrew. Your Winston stitch is amazing. Your friend is going to be elated. I don't think I could do something like your leap year SAL, 2.7% would make me feel overwhelmed. 😂 Your Mira's are amazing as always. Your slumber party , seems like that border might be the most tedious part, so the rest is probably going to be so enjoyable! On the shading with the black and blue, could always do tent stitches with the blue. I like your Santa fabric choice. I vote go for it, we all need to remember, we can always backstitch an outline. Sorry for the super long comments all the time. Keep up the great work.

      Thank you so much! First of all, I always love your long comments so keep them coming! Makes it feel like we can really interact with each other here :). 2.7% may sound intimidating, but I like the long goal ahead and just working at little by little! Great thought with tent stitching the blue for the Beyonce piece! Glad you like the fabric for Santa and you're right I could backstitch if needed! Happy stitching!

    Love your current stitches and your planned starts. I don’t envy you your black Aida stitches tho. I tried black for the dragon SAL and just couldn’t do it. It was work rather than pleasure. I am a newish stitcher, though. I will be giving the Deadly Aquarium a shot though. I loved that fishing Santa you showed and I am going to stitch it for my husband. He is legally blind but will appreciate the work and I will make it so he can feel the stitches. I believe I will try some green fabric for the piece.
    Congratulations on your race! I am almost 70 now but even in my 20’s I wasn’t interested in racing. We lived in Colorado at the time and I hiked in the mountains but running was not my thing. Ever. LOL.😂 Good luck with your starts.

      Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying the updates on my journey! Black Aida is tough, but I think I'm getting the hang of it :). Oh that's great that you will stitch the fishing santa for your husband! It's a great piece and I love that you will stitch it so he can feel the stitches. So kind of you. Running definitely isn't for everyone, but hiking is just as fun and active! Happy stitching!

    Your interview with Becca was wonderful, loved it! Congrats on completing another half marathon! Hope your weather starts saying spring is here consistently now that April is approaching. Congrats on your finish of Haunted House. Winston is looking great! Love your WIP progress and SAGA is looking lovely. Your Mira is lovely and your stitching is gorgeous. Your house is huge! The pinks really pop on that black Aida. I love the ball-tip needles and have been buying them for several years, before they were sold to Sullivans even from the originator of the design. I had stocked up on them before she sold them but have finally went through all of those and now have to buy them again. I use size 28 for nearly everything. I don't have much problem threading under the stitches unless I am using 20 count or higher but I think I stitch fairly loose. I was stitching while watching on Nature Sings from Stoney Creek. Hope you have a wonderful stitchy week. Hugs to Winston. Dawn in Texas

    Regarding your Lowery stand, you may wish to get the long frame adapter to help stabilize frame's weight. And regarding the fishing Santa, don't forget that there is DMC 3865 and B5200 as other alternate white floss.

    Still making my way through your videos and loving them-thank you for sharing! (And did 20 minutes of run/walk 1:00 each the past three mornings-rest day today; baby steps😊. I love hearing about your races 💕.) I also love the Prairie School fisherman Santa! Being from Nova Scotia, and living in Newfoundland (both=fishing), I think I have to get that pattern! Hi Andrew - You need a weight on your Lowery that covers the floor plate and it has to be quite heavy. What you have does not cover enough of the surface - I have the same problem and I put 2 bricks side by side on top of the plate and it works. Your fishing Santa fabric could be coffee dyed to darken it. I just did that with some cream Aida for a birth sampler and it did work.

    • @therunnerstitcher
      @therunnerstitcher  4 місяці тому

      Thank you for the recommendation! I will try something heavier on the base plate to see if that helps resolve the issue! I haven't tried dying fabric before! That sounds scary :)

      @@therunnerstitcher Not really, you just have to be there and watch it so that you can take it out when it is the colour you want. You have to use 5-6 tea bags and boiling water to get a good dark tea infusion going. Afterward you use a vinegar/water bath to "set" the colour. There are tutorials about doing it so watch a few of those and you will be fine.

  • @thecozydh

    The person you're making the fishing Santa for will not realise it. I've been making a pair of mittens for my good friend, I even asked her input on the pattern and colours, worked on it during livestreams she watched and mentioned it in videos she commented on. She has no idea.

I'm not sure who you bought your Lowry from, but would it be worth contacting them? It's an expensive tool to be unhappy with. I've been thinking of getting one too; I've always heard good things about them and I like the fact that they don't take up as much room as other stands because I do a lot of stitching in my living room sitting with my husband. 🪡👠

    Love seeing your face! Ok, so I am way behind you in Pixel Dragon, therefore, I had no idea there’s a substitution for the little meat motif! Yes, I’m so grateful for the vegetarian option. I already was thinking how to not stitch that but haven’t looked ahead from Part 2 yet. I love that you’re stitching your seasonal mermaids skin with half stitch. I haven’t really seen that yet. I remember you mentioning in Sambrie Stitches’ interview that this year is more or less an experimental year, trying all the things. And I’m right there with you! And it’s so fun. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful art Andrew. Until the next stitch 😊

      Thank you Jennifer!! Isn't the corn such a great option that she gives! I thought it was so cute and I'm glad I switched it out. The option came with part 3 if I'm not mistaken :). Let's see how the rest of the mermaid skin goes, but so far it's looking ok! Definitely the year of starts and trying things. Never a dull moment with cross stitch! Thanks again for watching, really appreciate it and Happy stitching!

    Another fabulous video. I wish I had the time and drive that you have. I wouldn't even be able to count my stitches. You are doing amazing things Andrew. Keep it going!!

      Aww thank you so much! I'm just having so much fun with this hobby! Using MarkupRXP definitely helps with stitch counting and I'd be lost without it :). Glad you're enjoying the updates and happy stitching!

    Andrew, if I stitch, I am not watching you, and that's not possible. I hear you and other stitchers talk about the number of stitches you make in a specific chart. How do you keep track of the number of stitches? Your puppy is cute.

      It is hard to stitch and watch flosstube :). I use the app on my ipad called MarkupRxP. It works well for me and counts the stitches as I mark them off. Hope that helps!

    As someone who is also on the East Coast (Philly) we are in False Spring. Second Winter is trying to come through, but we may skip it and go directly into Real Spring. :P
    - The fact that you get thousands of stitches in only 2 weeks blows my mind. I think I pull about 5k per month! You're an inspiration.

      Yes, you totally get our weather! I really am hoping for no Second Winter lol. False spring was such a tease! I am happy I get so much stitching time right now. Might not always be the case :). But stitching isn't like a race it's all about the process! Happy stitching!

    Love the progress. I had a similar problem with my lowery stand, however you can get an adapter for the stand that is designed for scroll frames which I have found makes it easier to use, the adapter holds the scroll frame in the middle rather than the side meaning the weight is more evenly distributed.

      That's good to know! I'll have to look into that and see if it helps at all :)

    Congrats on your half marathon medal 😍
    You’ve made amazing progress in the last two weeks 😱 it’s all so beautiful!
    and you sound like me: “should i start a stitchalong? oh well, let’s just start two” 😂😂 i like!
    do you have issues with the lowery stand only with your scroll frame or also with the nurge hoop/q-snap? if so, maybe the weight of the scroll frame is too much? i stitch in hand by now but i used the lowery stand last year and don’t remember any issues 🤔

    • @therunnerstitcher
      @therunnerstitcher  4 місяці тому

      Thank you so much and I"m glad you enjoyed seeing the progress! Glad I'm not alone in the SAL starts ha. It wasn't quite as bad with a qsnap but still some wobble. I know a lot of people who don't have the issue with the wobble which is why I"m so confused! Hopefully I'll figure out something.

    Great video again 😊 I love serenity I got that one too, no idea when will start it though 😂 I have a lowery stand and love it, but I use mine stitching on the sofa so it slides underneath the sofa if that makes sense 🤔 you might need a bigger piece on the bottom? Definitely contact them though I’m sure they’ll help no problem ❤
