Wow you are really advancing in your stitching journey - good for you! I’m loving your choices! Isn’t it a blast to go to a brick and mortar to see the models - it really does make a difference. Being able to touch and see the different fabric choices with all the different colors is special. I’m fortunate to have four local LNS I can be at within 2 hours - three within 35 minutes. The blue hank should look great! Nice job!!

@@therunnerstitcher I have not. Literally just got them about 2 weeks ago, lol!! I’m sure I’ll probably start kitting them up by summer. Currently trying to do 24 new starts in 2024. Started all my planning long before Pam announced hers. I had all kinds of plans for 2 starts a month, had them all selected, and everything went right out the window, 🤣😂🤣. Andrew great video. I love all your haul. I’m like you we have no LNS’s in CA, so when I was Colorado last year I got to go to an LNS and spent way too much money. It is so different when you can see and feel the fabric and all the patterns, floss and model stitches. It’s amazing and you do go a little crazy. You Long Dog is going to look amazing with blue silk. Love your new hair cut, almost didn’t recognize you when I saw you had a new FlossTube. Already looking forward to your next video. I like a longer videos because it gives me more stitching time.

I enjoyed your video. You can never share too much haul. I always enjoy seeing what everyone is purchasing. As for you “thinking” you are buying so many cross stitch goodies because you are new to stitching and want all the things, get over that thought. I started stitching in the early 80’s and when life happened in the 90’s I didn’t have time to stitch and thought I wouldn’t ever want to stitch again, I gave it all away. Back then I bought all the things. I retired in 2015 and decided to start stitching again only this time I swore I wouldn’t buy new patterns until I stitched what I had. Let me tell you how that went. So if you can make a plan and stick to it I commend you for doing it. The two beach patterns you showed I happen to have as I live at the beach. I want to start on them more towards summer. I love stitching the Tiny Towns. Your blue silk is gorgeous. Blue is my favorite color and I love what you chose. Happy stitching! You are brave to take on all those huge projects.

Thank you for saying you like the blue silk (blue is also my favorite color)! Happy stitching and thanks again for watching!

Wow, at first glance you look like my husband when he buzzes his head. But y’all have totally different hair when it’s longer. Lovely projects! Welcome back up North. I’m in Vermont. I like how you are growing a collection from all different designers and using all different types of threads. That’s what I like to do. Now all you need is a BAP HAED and a Chatelaine 😂 I can’t wait to start running again!! I broke my ankle missing the last step of the stairs in December and haven’t done anything since. Starting back from square one. But like you say, if you’re a runner, keep running. Have fun on your 13.1!

I enjoyed your flosstube, just an idea for your mustard seed sampler.Sorry, I don't know the name. You can sew a piece of fabric along the short side.It can wrap around the board so you don't see it from the front. That way you will have a good margin on the right side.
You can also zigzag your edges of your projects instead of tape.
I'm looking forward to your next floss tube.

Great video, lovely to see the progress on your wips.
I love the look of that saturated blue floss on that country mocha fabric.
As for Teresa W... I have never seen such a long list of colour threads for a pattern that does not strike you as very colourful, as a HEAD for example. that's impressive, must be reason for the complexity of the finished TW pieces.
Glad to know you will someday start the Dimensions' Fall Fairy as well, that one is my favourite, although it is indeed very difficult to choose.

You look so different anyway you’re grooving on all your projects.
I’ve never done stamped cross stitch looks like it’s so easy.
So I’m an embroiderer, and don’t be afraid of it I taught my granddaughter how to stitch she loves it.
I love cross stitch so many things to stitch and to consider. I love the gold collections I’m working

First of all - yes on the Long Dog thread and fabric - that's going to be amazing! Silk is fun to work with, but be sure to moisturize your hands a bit before stitching if you find it snags. I love watching newer stitchers hop down the rabbit hole of challenging projects and you have some wonderful ones. Good call on adding some small and medium projects so that you get an occasional 'win' (ie finish).
My "year of the dragon" piece is a full coverage - Mead Dragon charted by Paine Free Crafts. I started it on 1/31 and currently am at 3.5%. I doubt I'll finish it this year, I figure it will be about a three year project. (94K stitches!) I have done TW's "The Castle" and "Millennium". But neither of them have the super ornate borders. I think the next one I do will be Peacock Tapestry, but there's a couple of Mira's in line before it. (I only have two pictorials on the go at any point - one full coverage and one 'fancy folk'.)
BTW, my tip for TW colors - floss away bags and the largest ring you can find. One bag for each individual color, even if it's only used in blends. One bag for each blend (labeled low color number/high color number and on the ring in that order). Cut one length of each color in the blend and put it in the blend bag. Pull one strand of each cut length at a time to use in the needle. If you have any of that blend left, put it back in the bag and use it first when you hit that symbol again. You'll always have the same number of strands 'waiting' in the cut lengths. Some of those colors are SO close you truly cannot tell them apart. By only setting up one length of the blend at a time you can be sure you have one and only one strand of each color. And by isolating each blend in its own bag, you don't mistakenly swap it for another close blend. You may waste a few lengths of thread at the end, but worth it to have zero confusion in the process. Good luck!

@@therunnerstitcher My next Fancy Folk will be "Santa of the Forest"! I've had it in the stash for ages - literally decades (to my embarrassment). I will be starting it on the first of June as my 'made it to retirement' start!
Also in the queue are three actual Miras - all older ones. Two are mermaids - "Waiting for Ships" and "Deepest Love" and one of the large fairies "Titania". Again, all kitted up, though I may swap out the fabric on the mermaids for some 'ocean' looking overdyed linen.

Hello Andrew. Truly enjoying your videos. I wanted to give you a heads up that weeks dye works has a bit of a yucky history. They had/have a color called confederate gray. When a Black stitcher called them in about that making them feel super uncomfortable they basically ignored them. After some community pressure for weeks or a month or two they quietly changed the name to Gray but have made no real effort to actually change the name. It remains on order forms for shops and for at least a couple years they continued to use the old floss tags and designers still call for it under the original name. For their poor handling of the situation (and to this day no acknowledgement of the harm) many stitchers choose to not support their company. Just wanted to inform since you are new and may not know any of that.

      @therunnerstitcher  6 місяців тому +1
