Unpopular opinion: Karumi deserves more love 🖤 because people don’t talk about Kurumi as much as other characters which is kind of sad and I think the reason is because she didn’t have that much screen time and I think the only thing people know about her is just her being a maid which is kind of sad 😞 but I understand
Maybe an unpopular opinion?: Tsumugi was a better mastermind than Junko. I mean, atleast Tsumugi actually participated in the game while Junko was hiding behind a screen practically. (Don't know if you've already done this one.)
Unpopular opinion: I don’t understand why Ryoma gets so much backlash. Yeah, compared to the cast, he’s more cold and depressive than the rest of the cast (except maybe Maki), but he’s also, in my opinion, a more relatable character. If you lost everyone you love, even losing your own talent, you’d be in the same mindset as Ryoma himself. His willingness to sacrifice himself in chapter 2 for Kirumi, it just goes to show how hard he’s hit rock bottom, to the point he doesn’t wanna live anymore, and I can see where he comes from. If he did end up having more screen time, I would love to see if he had an arc where he realizes he has his friends to keep him alive. Ryoma doesn’t deserve so much hate, even if his eyes stare into your soul.
Not really THAT unpopular cause i’ve seen it a bit and agree with it. But Sonia should’ve been, and would’ve been an AMAZING mastermind for DR2. She gave off some really strange vibes throughout the game. Which LITERALLY led me to believe the devs were dropping small hints to reveal her as the mastermind while i was playing it. But then i ended up being disappointed when it was Junko yet again. Her title could work so well with being a mastermind. She probably has the funds, and people to set up her own killing game and then participate in it herself to hide suspicion from the other students. Would’ve been nice to see her go from this “innocent” and dumbfounded girl to some crazy psycho at the end of the game. Would’ve probably thrown a lot of people off. Plus, Nagito being absolutely crazy would’ve been SUCH a good cover up for Sonia. Everyone is too busy looking at Nagito to pay any attention to her.
opinions: danganronpa V3 has the best executions overall (considering all of the executions in the game). Also Sonia dosent deserve as much hate as she gets but she also dosent deserve to be treated as the best character of the whole game

Just because you like a character doesn't mean that character should've lived longer or survived. Similarly, just because you don't like a character doesn't mean they should've died earlier than they did. There's usually a reason why a certain character survives/dies at a certain point in the story. It's true that a lot of characters had missed potential, but this is Danganronpa. Someone's gotta die early on. It's unavoidable.
Unpopular opinion: I love Peko. She is a very underrated character and people only know her for the kuzupeko ship. Also, she literally saved Fuyuhiko from getting executed when he was about to kill Mahiru and wanted herself to be executed because for all these years she believed she was a 'mere tool'. So let's give some love to her. Peko supremacy!
Tsumugi being the mastermind was very obvious. It was very easy to solve. It was a really boring mastermind reveal for me in v3. Junko's was obvious but not like Tsumugi. Her talent gave it away also. I also think she was a boring mastermind. she was basically, a junko wannabe that had no personality. other characters would have been a better mastermind and less obvious mastermind. i liked that she actually participated though. (her design is still good though)
An unpopular opinion of mine is that the monocubs made V3 so much worse. Here me out. I felt a lot of the executions got ruined because of them, for example Kirumi’s execution. This might be a little biased because she’s my second favorite character in the whole series, but I noticed a lot of people were really shocked by her brutal execution, and then monowhatevertheirnamewas died and their attention shifted to “oh no unfunny comic relief monocub died” instead of the execution. Not only this but they were also unfunny and annoying. Hot take #2 is that Himiko is criminally underrated and needs much more attention. She’s a really cool character and I wish she had more appreciation considering what she went through.
Literally any execution involving the monocubs were ruined. Especially during the very last trial where Monokuma is like "I'm bringing back some people!" And I was so excited becasue I thought he was bringing back past murdered or blackened students but then the fucking Monocubs came out.
Unpopular opinion: Honestly, I feel that Mahiru Is severely underrated. IMO, she has one of the best talents in the franchise. She also seemed to be a really nice and loving person. If you played the free time events you would know that she loves taking pictures random to Suprise people, and idk why but I find that not only funny but heartwarming. She also has one of my fav character designs. Edit note: I also like how she keeps every picture and never deletes it even if it's bad
Unpopular opinion: Kirigiri’s actually really annoying in the first game. She’s constantly disappearing off to nowhere (we can’t find her during the Deadly Life events of the third, fourth, and fifth chapter). She acts like she has some degree of authority when we know nothing about her - insofar as making rules around Alter Ego, commanding Makoto to go to the room in the boys’ bathroom, constantly using Makoto as a patsy to distract Monokuma while Kirigiri does the real work and then refuses to tell Makoto about it. When Makoto discovers something sensitive on his own for once, he decides to withhold it (a right she’s been exercising liberally throughout their partnership) and she flips the hell out at him. In fact, I think the character who’s most comparable to her within the other killing games is Ouma Kokichi (who also manipulates his partner without telling them anything, focuses on investigating the killing game itself, becomes extremely angry when Saihara lies in chapter 4…). Take that as you will.
Actually, i disagree on the sayaka part. She actually wanted to kill Leon. Because, she led him into “her” dorm, so she took the knife. And began to attack him in “self defense”, why he took the katana? It was in self defense. She was going to kill him, but he killed her in self defense. They both deserve better but, Leon deserves better than Sayaka. That’s my opinion.

Nagito and Kokichi aren't overated characters. They both are excellently written and have understandable motives to their actions during the games. Nagito in perticular, has an amazing and deep backstory, which makes you empathize with him. Although we don't get to see a lot of Kokichi's backstory (since he's a liar), his motives and character make him a complex and enjoyable character.
Unpopular Opinion: I actually didn't mind DR2's ending that much. Knowing what we knew in the Danganronpa Series that far, it'd make sense for Junko to make an AI of herself to make sure that the people who pretty much did all the work for her (a.k.a: The Remnants of Despair) were not going to be healed out of her brainwashing so she could keep using them to further her cause. Not only does it flesh out on the big question: "How on earth do 2 teenage girls take over the entire world without even raising a finger?", it does so without having to suspend your disbelief too badly... ...That was, up until the Despair Arc of DR3 ruined everything.
The “muscly” characters of the three main games (I’m talking about Sakura, Nekomaru and Gonta) are all at least in the top five characters for their respective games. And I hate how nobody talks about nekomaru because although he was pretty much used for shit jokes, he also had a really sweet and interesting backstory.
Unpopular opinion: Angie should've been the antagonist. I believe that because of how different Shuichi and Angie are she probably would've worked better.
Agree 100% I think at some point they planned to make her the antagonist but Kokichi turned out a better option and they tossed her to the side. I still hate how she just dies out of nowhere because she had some much potential.
I agree with that! Kokichi was a good Antagonist but I feel like he could've just remained the annoying bastard he is without having a whole overlord presence, angie as the Antagonist would've been a nice contrast and refreshing!
Angie would have been a cool antag, but if they wanted to promote the game overseas then maybe they thought they would be called out for the being the big 'R'
Kokichi was antagonist because of how he understood the game and munipulated EVERYONE involved, he just seemed like some over lord phsyco little boy that was insulting everyone and just saying random shit for his entertainment. But in reality he had every single person wrapped around his finger. Although Angie would’ve been good I think it would’ve more obvious on her plan and you wouldn’t have to think with her.
Unpopular opinion: Well, I don’t know if it’s actually unpopular or not but I like some of the Danganronpa fangans more than the original games(specifically SDRA2 and Despair Time). And there basically the only thing keeping my interest in Danganronpa alive.

Unpopular opinion: Angie should be the Ultimate Sculptor instead of Artist. Sure, she *can* draw, but we barely see her do so and the official splash art is her sculpting. Also, I know Artist can refer to more than *just* drawing but sculpting has its own word that I feel would fit her more.
12:30 I love Mahiru's design because she looks like a normal girl who just died her hair red! Her design is super cute and it just gives me a break from the usual eccentric looking characters. She honestly wouldn't be the same if her design was any different.
I hate how Mahiru is so quick to stand up for Hiyoko when people are "bullying her" (pointing out that she smells) but she doesn't bat an eye when Hiyoko is straight up bullying Mikan, especially since her report card says she dislikes "bad manners"
Korekiyo shouldn’t have been the one to get executed for the 3rd trial. I think it would’ve been great for the story for him to have been exposed for killing Angie. BUT THEN someone else get’s executed for Tenko’s death. Would’ve made a great plot twist to have an exposed murderer from the trials be in the midst of the group.
Unpopular opinion, I don't think that Angie should have died, so many things were happening with Angie especially when it came to her wanting to bring Rantaro to life, telling the people that they should forget about leaving. I seriously wonder what would have happened if she didn't die in Chapter 3.
Fr, I was so pissed when she died. She had multiple things going on but then all her plans are just...Stopped? I was pissed how we just never got to know if the ritual would have actally worked and it was annoying how easy it was to dispell the "student council".
gonta would have been a really good mastermind imo. i also think it'd be fun for him to speak normally and his mastermind thing being spiders. (zipperqwerty's idea) i also like the udea of tsumugi being a mastermind with him them having a sibling relationship/people that only get along in a work setting. like, tsumugi cosplaying gonta's innocent persona and mm!gonta walking in like "yeah okay now you're milking it, ms. plain jane"
Unpopular (but is kinda popular) opinion: Kiyotaka Ishimaru was wasted potential. It was clear that after Mondos was executed, the writers didn’t know what to do with him.
Kaito could've been a really good mastermind, if he acted and did the same things as in the canon sense, the betrayal would've hurt more and he would've been harder to put the blame on. It would take away the sheer despair of his death as Shuichis friend and a support and place it on the betrayal of said friends and show how danganronpa is a game of betrayal and twists.

Things don't need to change all that much, maybe make Tenko kill Angie to protect everyone because she was planning something dangerous or (with the previous situation happening) Himiko accidentally killing Tenko due to a misplacement during the "ritual". OPINION 1: I do not really mind Korekyio's backstory and reasons for murdering. I do not condone incest but to be honest, a lot of people let other shit slide and then get mad when one extra insane person is added to the bunch. Realistically, not all motives are going to be heartwarming. I feel that people get too attached to heartwarming/positive motives so when someone kills for a selfish reason it's just bound to get hate. Especially in Korekiyo's case becasue his motive was incest related. I understand that it is a video game, but in real life there are people who are disgusting and will do crazy shit to fulfill their wishes. HOWEVER, I DON'T EXACTLY LIKE THE WAY THEY WENT ABOUT EXPLAINING KOREKYIO'S BACKSTORY. I think it would cool to learn EXACTLY how he turned out that way. I have heard that his older sister was abusive towards him while she was alive. But the person who said it told everyone that it was in the manga and I have not read it yet. Although I do admit that his motive kind of didn't link with the story as much as it should besides the fact that it lead to Himiko's development. Also, I think the devs obviously know that incest is wrong becasue literally no other character I know of has a sister complex. And during Korekiyos' trial, his classmates also show disgust and confusion to his motive. And who writes those lines???? Just because it's written in doesn't mean the devs condone it. OPINION 2: I watched Future, Despair, and Hope arcs and I enjoyed it! Actually, I enjoyed Despair and Hope arc, but Future arc was kind of shit tbh. ANYWAYS, I brought this up because no matter where I go, it seems that everyone hated the anime. It felt so nice to see the DV2 cast enjoy their daily lives before the tragedy occurred. It was interesting to see former ultimates and to watch Headmaster Kirigiri in action. BUT I don't like how they used homosexuality as a bartering chip for whether or not the tragedy could have happened or not. We obviously know that Junko won but then in anime it's chalked up to "Durrhurr! Confess your love or the entire world is in danger!!!!" MY GUY!!!!! ALL THE STUDENTS ARE DEAD, THE WORLD IS RIOTING, AND YOU CHOSE TO LET HER GO???? CAUSE YOU DON'T WANT YOUR FEELINGS HURT???? If they're going to use the "Do this or I'll do something seriously bad!!"! trope, they should have used something more trivial. And in the end, my dude never even got to fucking confess. That was shit and one of my top 3 reasons why I hate Future arc. Other than that, I think Despair and Hope are great! OPINION 3: I don't like Chiaki. My first impression of her was unfortunately just me not wanting to let someone else take Kyoko's place as the protag's assistant. That is an unfair judgment on my part. It just kind of peeved me how I moved from Kyoko, a mysterious, serious, and hard-core detective to a gamer girl who falls asleep a lot and makes cute faces. Then the anime version of her made my feelings worse because she's walking around solving everyone's problems and being perfect. It's honestly just extremely boring. BUT she is supposed to be some extreme symbol of hope so I guess it works out. Chiaki is honestly just so fucking boring in the actaul series. I found myself liking fanan versions of her much more. So much more that I roll my eyes whenever I see a scene of her from any of the official content, then turn around and fall in love with her when I read a silly fanfic. This is all very mean to her and stuff. And I know she is an extreme fan fav. But she's just so boring, I can't stand it.
I honestly agree, I don't think Chiaki is boring but she just had SO MUCH missed potential to me. I wish she had more personality than "cute gamer girl that is tired 24/7" Also have you read the fic Extra Life. It's on AO3 and it gives Chiaki more personality than she ever had in the games and anime :)
Unpopular Opinion: Hiyoko should've survived, and have been replaced with either Souda or Sonia. (I don't like either of them, so either one is fine.), so that she could continue her character arc and become better than she was before.
WARNING V3 SPOILERS: I have an unpopular opinion: Tsumugi is overhated. While I do agree that the writers had her standing in the background a BIT too much, I don’t think she’s as boring as people say she is. To me, she’s Hifumi done right throughout most of the main game. Plus, in regards to the ending, I find it very odd that people say that she was too obvious. There are hints of her two-faced personality, but they are pretty subtle in my opinion. Lastly, I think she has a lot of bad faith criticism associated with her. I hate it when people just treat her like she’s “another Junko.” Tsumugi only ACTED like Junko to manipulate the other survivors to vote for hope and continue the killing game cycle. She was never despair obsessed nor was she ever motivated by spreading despair. Creating an “entertaining” killing game and keeping it going as long as possible by any means necessary was her goal and the outside world supporting and enjoying her game was her motivation. Sorry this opinion turned into a bit of a rant.
oh, yay, im in the video!^^ kyoko's design is great, still not a fan of her character though another unpopular opinion: people in the fandom don't look too much into celeste's execution. the witch burning sure was aesthetic, but that's not the point at all, the point is that she would be happy to die in this special way and then she doesn't, cause she gets hit by a car, which is kind of a boring cause of death, and that brings her despair. Many people seem to overlook this little important detail and only say "yea, celeste was burned" idk, i could be wrong a bit again - my experience in the fandom is a bit chaotic :D
Unpopular opinion: People should stop wishing that a survivor (ex. Yasuhiro, Sonia, Himiko) died instead of another character that they happen to prefer. In real life death is never fair or predictable and I like this aspect of Danganronpa where you don't usually know who's next.
To go on further, people usually want this because of "missed potential" of characters who died early but sometimes that's just how life is, unfair. People should take characters as they are instead of thinking of their "missed potential".
i agree with your point a bit but sometimes last minute decisions have to be made, for example in danganronpa 2 when they switched fuiyuhiko for hiyoko, both of them got a lot of devopment after chapter 2, but if fuiyuhiko wouldve died instead there would be also a lot pf fans who wouldve liked him as a survivor
Here’s mine: I like Hiyoko, she’s like my third favorite in DR2. I just happen to like characters that are little brats for some reason.I also loved her relationship with Mahiru and I’m still kinda upset that she was cut from being a survivor because she literally was starting to get character development. Also I don’t really like Mikan. She was just kind of annoying and I’m scared of doctors.
when the characters are little brats it makes them 10x better. she also had a great development ( didn't last long ). hiyoko really was a great character and mikan was really annoying. her whole personality was being a nurse and being crying most of the time.

Idk if maki is really more hated than sayaka but she deserves the hate , sayaka at least died in chapter 1 while maki survived the whole game UNDESERVINGLY , plus she is a bland edgelord who gets away because the writer keeps excusing her actions, at least her design is cool.
Yeah, I do like Maki but I have to admit that her survival felt a little forced. Like the writers didn't exactly know what to do with her so they used her crush on Kaito to keep her a float. It may seem typical, but she could have made a good blackened

But when you compare her to other characters in the series, she gets away from any sort of mistakes that led to punishment and death to other characters and basically she is worse fuyuhiko, her personality doesn’t help too. I still think she is one of the better characters in V3 but as time goes on I dislike like her more and more.
Unpopular opinion: Akane was the best survivor of sdr2 (Besides Hajime) Because 1: She's hilarious. 2: She has to "carry on" Nekomaru's legacy. 3: All the horny ppl would be sad if she died
SDR2 had a boring ending,idk but after the Nagito trial the game was slightly dull,seeing the THH characters return was cool sure but the Junko stuff was straight garbage(reminder unpopular opinion) I'm not saying it could have been easily fixed but there was definitely small things even that could of been changed,mostly the very ending.
Unpopular opinion - I actually think people hate to much on Sayaka and I really enjoy her. People always forget that Monokuma didn't mention the trial or that everyone else would die of they didn't find the killer. Sayaka tried to kill and thought Makoto would take the fall so she could escape since he said he would help her no matter what. She wasn't trying to kill Makoto, its even hinted that she wasn't fully into her plan and that's why she failed.

i agree that the fte explain each character a lot but some people dont play all of them and all they got were the interactions in the game, i understand that the fte are there to give better backgrounds to characters but sometimes putting some stuff as in game interactions between other characters is better
basically i have a problem with all the support girls.. Kyoko is pretty much using Makoto and he almost got executed because of her; Chiaki has no backstory no flaws very to little development and that doesnt change in the anime; Maki is just an evil Kyoko also like you said she tried to kill everyone
Even though I diskike what Maki and Kyoko did,I appreciate that they have flaws and did wrong things.Chiaki on the other hand was a boring one-time love interest.Kodaka even said that while Kyoko was intended to be a support character Chiaki was a heroin type.Because of Chiaki, Hajime's arc gets reduced to wanting to impress her.
@@guriniro the problem is that Kyokos and Makis flaws aren’t acknowledged,, Makoto immediately after his execution goes with Kyoko to the gym to speak with monokuma no grudge hołd whatsoever,, in Makis case, no one but Kokichi mentions how she killed so many innocent people and doesnt regret it,, i don’t think Shuichi even cared that she planned killing him and his friends…
Out of the main 3, I like the first game best. Here are some of my favorites that come from this game: Favorite trial: 1-4 Favorite antagonist: Togami Favorite character: Ogami (1st), Fujisaki (3rd) Favorite motive: Secrets Favorite ending: 1-6 I just really like this game.
I dunno if this is an unpopular opinion but, I personally as much as I would've loved Kiyotaka to survive, in reality he wouldn't have. If you keep the entire game the same and chapter 2 still happens Taka would've realistically died unless you change it that chapter 2 has a different victim and killer, or even just change the killer. If Mondo died, Taka wouldn't have survived that long. However I would've liked if they actually showed Taka a bit more care after, or do something with Hiro and Taka as in chapter 3 Yasuhiro basically takes Taka's leader role and maybe having the two interact a bit in the chapter or have Hiro being like an older brother figure for Taka, it could've been amazing development for both characters. But sadly all they do with Taka in the actual chapter is, Taka is upset, he finds the psychics lab and Monokuma calls the air purifier a time machine go make Taka sadder, Alter Ego is found and shortly after Taka wants to see them, Taka thinks Alter Ego/Chihiro is mad at him, Alter Ego turns into Mondo, Taka becomes Kiyondo, love fight happens between Taka and Hifumi, Celestia says that Taka abused her to manipulate Hifumi, Taka then gets tricked and killed, AND NO ONE CARED.
I don't hate Hifumi and Teruteru. They definitely arent best characters, especially Teruteru but i can still somehow relate to him. And about Hifumi, i dont even know why do ppl hate him. Just like with Teruteru, he isn't as good as others, but he never did nothing wrong. Except maybe simping for Celeste. I just really like him and i dont get why would someone do that to him. Dont worry ma boy's, u r under my defense!
For the Mahiru one, I don't dislike her or anything I just forget her sometimes. I once tried to name all the danganronpa students from all three games and completely forgot she existed. I also forgot about Kirumi. I like both characters just fine. Even love Kirumi's design but when it comes to remembering characters those two just don't stand out in my mind for some reason.
unpopular opinion: i may have interpreted the dr3 anime wrong but i think ruruka isn't a bad character, i actually think shes pretty neat and prefer her over seiko. shes usually pretty high up in my danganronpa tier lists (im planning to rewatch the anime again and see if my opinion has changed)
My unpopular opinion : Hajime didn't deserve to be talentless(I'm not talking about Izuru) bc he was a useful character in class trials, so I thought he deserved the title of detective :))
Literally could have been the Ultimate Debator or some crap. But honestly we gotta be real that a lot of what happened simply would not have happened if he did have a talent. But I really wish he had one that he just didn't know about!
Unpopular opinion, I really dislike Ibuki, she made me extremely uncomfortable during those times when she was sexualizing Mikan which is a character that already has enough sexualizing (bandaid is a discomfort for me as well.) This is enough to make me dislike Ibuki a lot characters like this make me feel very uncomfy.
also my unpopular is that kokichi is a bad character. like i understand what he's supposed be but to me he comes off as wanting to be the next nagito so bad. i get that he acts mean cuz of his lying problem, but even celeste had a similar thing and wasn't a huge asshole to everyone.
My unpopular opinion that I have is that the ending to the first game seems more dull than the other ones. I don't know if it's just me but V3 had the best ending while in the second game you find out that your the bad guys who killed so many people. Not only that but so much goes on that you just don't know what's real anymore and both games captured it pretty well.
Unpopular opinions: 1. Himiko is actually a good character (with some of the strongest development in the franchise) you just don't like immature people 2. You as the main character really aren't necessary. Every trial would've been figured out (and in some cases much easier) without you 3. This is gonna be really unpopular but my insecure self can't handle the thought of Nekomaru and Gonta being high school students. And even those two aside, every single student is either stunningly gorgeous or a pervert. I know this isn't just a problem with Danganronpa, but the fact that they're high school students makes me feel inadequate. 4. I know it isn't so unpopular, but I'm a firm believer in the edit to Game 2 Trial 3 where Sonia dies instead of Hiyoko - her development needed to be fleshed out, it's tragic what they did to her.
Super Unpopular Opinion: The Monokubs are justified being in V3. Not only do they fit in with the theme of a long running franchise fatigue, but they also are important to be purposely hated on as that was the intention. Plus I find them more funny and interesting than about half the V3 cast, and the chapter 4 sub plot is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be
v3 had the best overall character design, but the worst writing I adore the designs of Himiko, Tenko, Angie, Shuichi and so on - but they are all written so poorly (early Himiko, Tenko and Angie specifically)
Unpopular Opinion: Teruteru is very over hated. Yeah the comments he says are not ok but Miu is a very loved charater and she is as perverted and / or more perverted than he is. I dont hate Miu but its kind of annoying to see Teruteru get so much hate meanwhile she f**ed a robot!
kaito shouldn't have survived to chapter 5. i think other characters should have lived to that point like kirumi or ryoma. i dont think he was a good support character for shuichi.

I had three other ones becasue why not? Op. 1: Hiyoko should have lived and Sonia should have died. Sonia really had no reason to stay alive because she had no development. Akane had Nekomaru, Fuyuhiko had Peko, Hajime had Nagtio (also he's the protag), Souda could have had Sonia. It would have been interesting. Op. 2: I fucking love Hifumi. Usually characters like Hifumi are shown as literal sexual predators with no respect to others. But Hifumi is just a silly fanboy who writes fics. He actually respects his classmates and doesn't actually assault, stalk, or hit-on the girls. Hifumi actually pulls his weight during trials and investigations. And I love his silly moments. Although he does show interest in Celeste. But I feel it is natural because who would not have a crush on one person? He even tries to pull revenge on Taka because he was led to believe that Celeste was assaulted by him. (Also becasue of alter ego, but from the tone of the game it seemed that he wasn't considering murdering Taka UNTIL Celeste pulled her lie on Hifumi.) He does have his very short creep moments like peeking or sometimes commenting on Makoto's relationship with Kyoko or someone else. But it's the exact same as if some fan-girl commented on her friend's relationship. (Also teen hormones are a thing after all. And that fact that his character is SUPPOSED to be creep-like so it would make sense to add those lines) Honestly, Hifumi is just one of my fav boys. He's just a geek. OP. 3: I had no clue that people did not like Angie that much. I obviously have a personal connection with Angie (given my pfp) and sometimes I felt a little uncomfortable with way people treated her. Both in the fandom and in the game itself. Even though it seems like it could be a coincidence that she's both POC and a manipulative, religious person but I can't help but feel uncomfortable with her circumstances. I try so hard not to tie everything to racial issues, but this always happens with POC characters I like. And it's gets so annoying after a while.
i like Angie and i can see why people may not enjoy her as much as i do, especialy since she died in chapter 3 as a victim (so she only participated in 2 trials)
im not sure if this is unpopular, but here's my unpopular opinion: Junko deserved better. Now I'm not saying that excuses her actions and I don't think we should forget what she's done. Kokichi is the best character oike he was the good guy all along but you never knew it. something I do hate tho is that they didn't work on kokichi and his backstory enough for he could have had a very good backstory and it could explain him and he'll get a reason for his talent like mikan her backstory explains everything bout her I wish they did that with him too
Tenko gets a lot more hate than she deserves, most of the people I've seen that hate her claim that they dislike her because of the whole "degenerate male" thing, which I don't think is a valid reason to dismiss her entire character.

The fandom makes backstories and calls it canon, when they have no proof to support that the backstories are real. Besides, the V3 cast is completely fake, Team Danganronpa made them. - The fandom is sexist. Not an opinion, just a fact. The fandom shits on Kaz (Crush on Sonia), Hifumi (Weird Comments), and Teruteru (Sexual Comments/Actions), but Ibuki (Telling Mahiru To Take Underwear Pics), Toko (General Perviness), and Miu (Attempts To R4p3 Kaede, Sexual Comments/Actions) get a free pass? - The WOH deserved better. I won't elaborate.
What I think the Danganronpa anime was missing was filler episodes. Episodes that don’t add anything/much to the plot, but you get to know the characters better. If the anime had more time with the characters then I feel like we’d at least get some more character development and it wouldn’t feel so rushed. Of course, I’m aware that in an anime like this where it’s a kill or be killed world there isn’t much room for fillers, but it’s just what I would’ve liked to see. Oh well. Still loved the anime either way
shuichi was a good protagonist, I liked him in chapter four, but kaede would have been WAY better imo. her potential is off the charts and she took no bullshit from anybody as our time as her.
Unpopular opinion: Angie isn't so bad! A lot of people don't like her because she was manipulative and forced her religion on others. Surprisingly enoug, my friend told me to get baptized because I wasn't Christian, Angie did something similar, yet I honestly still like her! I have never liked Chiaki that much. There’s nothing really wrong with her character, I just find her pretty bland. I wish they expanded more on her backstory and personality in the game, because it would have made her such a good character! I also don’t like how she was so perfect in the Despair Arc. Chiaki didn’t really have any flaws and everyone saw her as an angel, which made her boring to me. (Please correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t watched the Despair Arc in a few months!)

Unpopular opinion: I don’t understand why Ryoma gets so much backlash. Yeah, compared to the cast, he’s more cold and depressive than the rest of the cast (except maybe Maki), but he’s also, in my opinion, a more relatable character. If you lost everyone you love, even losing your own talent, you’d be in the same mindset as Ryoma himself. His willingness to sacrifice himself in chapter 2 for Kirumi, it just goes to show how hard he’s hit rock bottom, to the point he doesn’t wanna live anymore, and I can see where he comes from. If he did end up having more screen time, I would love to see if he had an arc where he realizes he has his friends to keep him alive. Ryoma doesn’t deserve so much hate, even if his eyes stare into your soul.

She gave off some really strange vibes throughout the game. Which LITERALLY led me to believe the devs were dropping small hints to reveal her as the mastermind while i was playing it. But then i ended up being disappointed when it was Junko yet again.
Her title could work so well with being a mastermind. She probably has the funds, and people to set up her own killing game and then participate in it herself to hide suspicion from the other students.
Would’ve been nice to see her go from this “innocent” and dumbfounded girl to some crazy psycho at the end of the game. Would’ve probably thrown a lot of people off.
Plus, Nagito being absolutely crazy would’ve been SUCH a good cover up for Sonia. Everyone is too busy looking at Nagito to pay any attention to her.

Just because you like a character doesn't mean that character should've lived longer or survived. Similarly, just because you don't like a character doesn't mean they should've died earlier than they did. There's usually a reason why a certain character survives/dies at a certain point in the story. It's true that a lot of characters had missed potential, but this is Danganronpa. Someone's gotta die early on. It's unavoidable.

Also, she literally saved Fuyuhiko from getting executed when he was about to kill Mahiru and wanted herself to be executed because for all these years she believed she was a 'mere tool'.

Tsumugi being the mastermind was very obvious. It was very easy to solve. It was a really boring mastermind reveal for me in v3. Junko's was obvious but not like Tsumugi. Her talent gave it away also. I also think she was a boring mastermind. she was basically, a junko wannabe that had no personality. other characters would have been a better mastermind and less obvious mastermind. i liked that she actually participated though. (her design is still good though)

An unpopular opinion of mine is that the monocubs made V3 so much worse. Here me out. I felt a lot of the executions got ruined because of them, for example Kirumi’s execution. This might be a little biased because she’s my second favorite character in the whole series, but I noticed a lot of people were really shocked by her brutal execution, and then monowhatevertheirnamewas died and their attention shifted to “oh no unfunny comic relief monocub died” instead of the execution. Not only this but they were also unfunny and annoying.
Hot take #2 is that Himiko is criminally underrated and needs much more attention. She’s a really cool character and I wish she had more appreciation considering what she went through.

Unpopular opinion: Honestly, I feel that Mahiru Is severely underrated. IMO, she has one of the best talents in the franchise. She also seemed to be a really nice and loving person. If you played the free time events you would know that she loves taking pictures random to Suprise people, and idk why but I find that not only funny but heartwarming. She also has one of my fav character designs.

Unpopular opinion: Kirigiri’s actually really annoying in the first game. She’s constantly disappearing off to nowhere (we can’t find her during the Deadly Life events of the third, fourth, and fifth chapter). She acts like she has some degree of authority when we know nothing about her - insofar as making rules around Alter Ego, commanding Makoto to go to the room in the boys’ bathroom, constantly using Makoto as a patsy to distract Monokuma while Kirigiri does the real work and then refuses to tell Makoto about it. When Makoto discovers something sensitive on his own for once, he decides to withhold it (a right she’s been exercising liberally throughout their partnership) and she flips the hell out at him.
In fact, I think the character who’s most comparable to her within the other killing games is Ouma Kokichi (who also manipulates his partner without telling them anything, focuses on investigating the killing game itself, becomes extremely angry when Saihara lies in chapter 4…). Take that as you will.

Actually, i disagree on the sayaka part. She actually wanted to kill Leon. Because, she led him into “her” dorm, so she took the knife. And began to attack him in “self defense”, why he took the katana? It was in self defense. She was going to kill him, but he killed her in self defense.

Nagito and Kokichi aren't overated characters. They both are excellently written and have understandable motives to their actions during the games. Nagito in perticular, has an amazing and deep backstory, which makes you empathize with him. Although we don't get to see a lot of Kokichi's backstory (since he's a liar), his motives and character make him a complex and enjoyable character.

Unpopular Opinion: I actually didn't mind DR2's ending that much. Knowing what we knew in the Danganronpa Series that far, it'd make sense for Junko to make an AI of herself to make sure that the people who pretty much did all the work for her (a.k.a: The Remnants of Despair) were not going to be healed out of her brainwashing so she could keep using them to further her cause. Not only does it flesh out on the big question: "How on earth do 2 teenage girls take over the entire world without even raising a finger?", it does so without having to suspend your disbelief too badly...
...That was, up until the Despair Arc of DR3 ruined everything.
The “muscly” characters of the three main games (I’m talking about Sakura, Nekomaru and Gonta) are all at least in the top five characters for their respective games. And I hate how nobody talks about nekomaru because although he was pretty much used for shit jokes, he also had a really sweet and interesting backstory.

Kokichi was antagonist because of how he understood the game and munipulated EVERYONE involved, he just seemed like some over lord phsyco little boy that was insulting everyone and just saying random shit for his entertainment. But in reality he had every single person wrapped around his finger. Although Angie would’ve been good I think it would’ve more obvious on her plan and you wouldn’t have to think with her.
Unpopular opinion: Well, I don’t know if it’s actually unpopular or not but I like some of the Danganronpa fangans more than the original games(specifically SDRA2 and Despair Time). And there basically the only thing keeping my interest in Danganronpa alive.

Korekiyo shouldn’t have been the one to get executed for the 3rd trial.
I think it would’ve been great for the story for him to have been exposed for killing Angie. BUT THEN someone else get’s executed for Tenko’s death. Would’ve made a great plot twist to have an exposed murderer from the trials be in the midst of the group.
Unpopular opinion, I don't think that Angie should have died, so many things were happening with Angie especially when it came to her wanting to bring Rantaro to life, telling the people that they should forget about leaving. I seriously wonder what would have happened if she didn't die in Chapter 3.

Unpopular (but is kinda popular) opinion: Kiyotaka Ishimaru was wasted potential. It was clear that after Mondos was executed, the writers didn’t know what to do with him.
Kaito could've been a really good mastermind, if he acted and did the same things as in the canon sense, the betrayal would've hurt more and he would've been harder to put the blame on. It would take away the sheer despair of his death as Shuichis friend and a support and place it on the betrayal of said friends and show how danganronpa is a game of betrayal and twists.

My unpopular opinion is that, in order to make things different and tense, kork shoud've survived the trial, making use of the wasted "the second killer doesn't get executed" thing that was presented in that chapter. Things don't need to change all that much, maybe make Tenko kill Angie to protect everyone because she was planning something dangerous or (with the previous situation happening) Himiko accidentally killing Tenko due to a misplacement during the "ritual". In this last case he wouldn't be a killer in the eyes of the game but to his classmates he is one

OPINION 1: I do not really mind Korekyio's backstory and reasons for murdering. I do not condone incest but to be honest, a lot of people let other shit slide and then get mad when one extra insane person is added to the bunch.
Realistically, not all motives are going to be heartwarming. I feel that people get too attached to heartwarming/positive motives so when someone kills for a selfish reason it's just bound to get hate. Especially in Korekiyo's case becasue his motive was incest related.
I understand that it is a video game, but in real life there are people who are disgusting and will do crazy shit to fulfill their wishes.
HOWEVER, I DON'T EXACTLY LIKE THE WAY THEY WENT ABOUT EXPLAINING KOREKYIO'S BACKSTORY. I think it would cool to learn EXACTLY how he turned out that way. I have heard that his older sister was abusive towards him while she was alive. But the person who said it told everyone that it was in the manga and I have not read it yet.
Although I do admit that his motive kind of didn't link with the story as much as it should besides the fact that it lead to Himiko's development.
Also, I think the devs obviously know that incest is wrong becasue literally no other character I know of has a sister complex. And during Korekiyos' trial, his classmates also show disgust and confusion to his motive. And who writes those lines???? Just because it's written in doesn't mean the devs condone it.
OPINION 2: I watched Future, Despair, and Hope arcs and I enjoyed it! Actually, I enjoyed Despair and Hope arc, but Future arc was kind of shit tbh. ANYWAYS, I brought this up because no matter where I go, it seems that everyone hated the anime.
It felt so nice to see the DV2 cast enjoy their daily lives before the tragedy occurred. It was interesting to see former ultimates and to watch Headmaster Kirigiri in action.
BUT I don't like how they used homosexuality as a bartering chip for whether or not the tragedy could have happened or not. We obviously know that Junko won but then in anime it's chalked up to "Durrhurr! Confess your love or the entire world is in danger!!!!" MY GUY!!!!! ALL THE STUDENTS ARE DEAD, THE WORLD IS RIOTING, AND YOU CHOSE TO LET HER GO???? CAUSE YOU DON'T WANT YOUR FEELINGS HURT????
If they're going to use the "Do this or I'll do something seriously bad!!"! trope, they should have used something more trivial. And in the end, my dude never even got to fucking confess. That was shit and one of my top 3 reasons why I hate Future arc.
Other than that, I think Despair and Hope are great!
OPINION 3: I don't like Chiaki. My first impression of her was unfortunately just me not wanting to let someone else take Kyoko's place as the protag's assistant. That is an unfair judgment on my part.
It just kind of peeved me how I moved from Kyoko, a mysterious, serious, and hard-core detective to a gamer girl who falls asleep a lot and makes cute faces.
Then the anime version of her made my feelings worse because she's walking around solving everyone's problems and being perfect. It's honestly just extremely boring. BUT she is supposed to be some extreme symbol of hope so I guess it works out.
Chiaki is honestly just so fucking boring in the actaul series. I found myself liking fanan versions of her much more. So much more that I roll my eyes whenever I see a scene of her from any of the official content, then turn around and fall in love with her when I read a silly fanfic.
This is all very mean to her and stuff. And I know she is an extreme fan fav. But she's just so boring, I can't stand it.

I have an unpopular opinion: Tsumugi is overhated. While I do agree that the writers had her standing in the background a BIT too much, I don’t think she’s as boring as people say she is. To me, she’s Hifumi done right throughout most of the main game. Plus, in regards to the ending, I find it very odd that people say that she was too obvious. There are hints of her two-faced personality, but they are pretty subtle in my opinion. Lastly, I think she has a lot of bad faith criticism associated with her. I hate it when people just treat her like she’s “another Junko.” Tsumugi only ACTED like Junko to manipulate the other survivors to vote for hope and continue the killing game cycle. She was never despair obsessed nor was she ever motivated by spreading despair. Creating an “entertaining” killing game and keeping it going as long as possible by any means necessary was her goal and the outside world supporting and enjoying her game was her motivation. Sorry this opinion turned into a bit of a rant.

another unpopular opinion: people in the fandom don't look too much into celeste's execution. the witch burning sure was aesthetic, but that's not the point at all, the point is that she would be happy to die in this special way and then she doesn't, cause she gets hit by a car, which is kind of a boring cause of death, and that brings her despair. Many people seem to overlook this little important detail and only say "yea, celeste was burned"

Unpopular opinion: People should stop wishing that a survivor (ex. Yasuhiro, Sonia, Himiko) died instead of another character that they happen to prefer. In real life death is never fair or predictable and I like this aspect of Danganronpa where you don't usually know who's next.
To go on further, people usually want this because of "missed potential" of characters who died early but sometimes that's just how life is, unfair. People should take characters as they are instead of thinking of their "missed potential".

But when you compare her to other characters in the series, she gets away from any sort of mistakes that led to punishment and death to other characters and basically she is worse fuyuhiko, her personality doesn’t help too.

SDR2 had a boring ending,idk but after the Nagito trial the game was slightly dull,seeing the THH characters return was cool sure but the Junko stuff was straight garbage(reminder unpopular opinion) I'm not saying it could have been easily fixed but there was definitely small things even that could of been changed,mostly the very ending.

Unpopular opinion - I actually think people hate to much on Sayaka and I really enjoy her. People always forget that Monokuma didn't mention the trial or that everyone else would die of they didn't find the killer. Sayaka tried to kill and thought Makoto would take the fall so she could escape since he said he would help her no matter what. She wasn't trying to kill Makoto, its even hinted that she wasn't fully into her plan and that's why she failed.

I dunno if this is an unpopular opinion but, I personally as much as I would've loved Kiyotaka to survive, in reality he wouldn't have. If you keep the entire game the same and chapter 2 still happens Taka would've realistically died unless you change it that chapter 2 has a different victim and killer, or even just change the killer. If Mondo died, Taka wouldn't have survived that long.
However I would've liked if they actually showed Taka a bit more care after, or do something with Hiro and Taka as in chapter 3 Yasuhiro basically takes Taka's leader role and maybe having the two interact a bit in the chapter or have Hiro being like an older brother figure for Taka, it could've been amazing development for both characters.
But sadly all they do with Taka in the actual chapter is, Taka is upset, he finds the psychics lab and Monokuma calls the air purifier a time machine go make Taka sadder, Alter Ego is found and shortly after Taka wants to see them, Taka thinks Alter Ego/Chihiro is mad at him, Alter Ego turns into Mondo, Taka becomes Kiyondo, love fight happens between Taka and Hifumi, Celestia says that Taka abused her to manipulate Hifumi, Taka then gets tricked and killed, AND NO ONE CARED.

I don't hate Hifumi and Teruteru. They definitely arent best characters, especially Teruteru but i can still somehow relate to him. And about Hifumi, i dont even know why do ppl hate him. Just like with Teruteru, he isn't as good as others, but he never did nothing wrong. Except maybe simping for Celeste. I just really like him and i dont get why would someone do that to him.

For the Mahiru one, I don't dislike her or anything I just forget her sometimes. I once tried to name all the danganronpa students from all three games and completely forgot she existed. I also forgot about Kirumi. I like both characters just fine. Even love Kirumi's design but when it comes to remembering characters those two just don't stand out in my mind for some reason.

Unpopular opinion, I really dislike Ibuki, she made me extremely uncomfortable during those times when she was sexualizing Mikan which is a character that already has enough sexualizing (bandaid is a discomfort for me as well.) This is enough to make me dislike Ibuki a lot characters like this make me feel very uncomfy.

My unpopular opinion that I have is that the ending to the first game seems more dull than the other ones. I don't know if it's just me but V3 had the best ending while in the second game you find out that your the bad guys who killed so many people. Not only that but so much goes on that you just don't know what's real anymore and both games captured it pretty well.

1. Himiko is actually a good character (with some of the strongest development in the franchise) you just don't like immature people
2. You as the main character really aren't necessary. Every trial would've been figured out (and in some cases much easier) without you
3. This is gonna be really unpopular but my insecure self can't handle the thought of Nekomaru and Gonta being high school students. And even those two aside, every single student is either stunningly gorgeous or a pervert. I know this isn't just a problem with Danganronpa, but the fact that they're high school students makes me feel inadequate.
4. I know it isn't so unpopular, but I'm a firm believer in the edit to Game 2 Trial 3 where Sonia dies instead of Hiyoko - her development needed to be fleshed out, it's tragic what they did to her.
Super Unpopular Opinion: The Monokubs are justified being in V3. Not only do they fit in with the theme of a long running franchise fatigue, but they also are important to be purposely hated on as that was the intention. Plus I find them more funny and interesting than about half the V3 cast, and the chapter 4 sub plot is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be

Op. 1: Hiyoko should have lived and Sonia should have died. Sonia really had no reason to stay alive because she had no development.
Akane had Nekomaru, Fuyuhiko had Peko, Hajime had Nagtio (also he's the protag), Souda could have had Sonia. It would have been interesting.
Op. 2: I fucking love Hifumi. Usually characters like Hifumi are shown as literal sexual predators with no respect to others. But Hifumi is just a silly fanboy who writes fics. He actually respects his classmates and doesn't actually assault, stalk, or hit-on the girls.
Hifumi actually pulls his weight during trials and investigations. And I love his silly moments.
Although he does show interest in Celeste. But I feel it is natural because who would not have a crush on one person?
He even tries to pull revenge on Taka because he was led to believe that Celeste was assaulted by him. (Also becasue of alter ego, but from the tone of the game it seemed that he wasn't considering murdering Taka UNTIL Celeste pulled her lie on Hifumi.)
He does have his very short creep moments like peeking or sometimes commenting on Makoto's relationship with Kyoko or someone else. But it's the exact same as if some fan-girl commented on her friend's relationship. (Also teen hormones are a thing after all. And that fact that his character is SUPPOSED to be creep-like so it would make sense to add those lines)
Honestly, Hifumi is just one of my fav boys. He's just a geek.
OP. 3: I had no clue that people did not like Angie that much. I obviously have a personal connection with Angie (given my pfp) and sometimes I felt a little uncomfortable with way people treated her. Both in the fandom and in the game itself.
Even though it seems like it could be a coincidence that she's both POC and a manipulative, religious person but I can't help but feel uncomfortable with her circumstances.
I try so hard not to tie everything to racial issues, but this always happens with POC characters I like. And it's gets so annoying after a while.
i like Angie and i can see why people may not enjoy her as much as i do, especialy since she died in chapter 3 as a victim (so she only participated in 2 trials)

Tenko gets a lot more hate than she deserves, most of the people I've seen that hate her claim that they dislike her because of the whole "degenerate male" thing, which I don't think is a valid reason to dismiss her entire character.
I think that the flaws you mentioned for Maki are what make her a more interesting character and part of why she's probably my favorite v3 character

-The fandom needs to stop fabricating bzckstories for the V3 cast. The fandom makes backstories and calls it canon, when they have no proof to support that the backstories are real. Besides, the V3 cast is completely fake, Team Danganronpa made them.
- The fandom is sexist. Not an opinion, just a fact. The fandom shits on Kaz (Crush on Sonia), Hifumi (Weird Comments), and Teruteru (Sexual Comments/Actions), but Ibuki (Telling Mahiru To Take Underwear Pics), Toko (General Perviness), and Miu (Attempts To R4p3 Kaede, Sexual Comments/Actions) get a free pass?

What I think the Danganronpa anime was missing was filler episodes. Episodes that don’t add anything/much to the plot, but you get to know the characters better. If the anime had more time with the characters then I feel like we’d at least get some more character development and it wouldn’t feel so rushed. Of course, I’m aware that in an anime like this where it’s a kill or be killed world there isn’t much room for fillers, but it’s just what I would’ve liked to see. Oh well. Still loved the anime either way
shuichi was a good protagonist, I liked him in chapter four, but kaede would have been WAY better imo. her potential is off the charts and she took no bullshit from anybody as our time as her.
Unpopular opinion: Angie isn't so bad! A lot of people don't like her because she was manipulative and forced her religion on others. Surprisingly enoug, my friend told me to get baptized because I wasn't Christian, Angie did something similar, yet I honestly still like her! She is manipulative, but she's also sweet and interesting! :)
