For me the darkest is how Taka's most trusted person died right infront of him. Taka's first best friend who doesn't care if he's a pain actually died right there, before Taka's eyes. It's extremely sad and messed up. Ik that he's just a fictional character, but even watching him scream and cry made me kinda sad ;c
I think what's kinda upsetting about this is the fact Taka was completely helpless in this situation, even though he begs for Monokuma not to kill Mondo he just ignores him, and he's forced to face that fact too quickly causing his major physiological damage. He also wasn't comforted by the other students afterwards so he just had to live knowing that he couldn't do anything to save someone he really cared about and he didn't exactly get past it before he was killed in chapter 3 over a false claim by Celeste.
I think the darkest danganronpa moment is when Hina, the sweetest character of all time, decides to try and kill everyone because she didn’t think any of them were worthy Like danganronpa 1 doesn’t mess around
IMO UDG was super dark in general the antagonists were kids who were faced with abuse and almost driven to suicide and then you have Monaca just taking advantage of it all

I’m not 100% sure that this is true, but it’s very disturbing either way. But what I have heard is true is that Taka’s backstory was going to be put into his free time events but was taken out because it was “too dark for Danganronpa”. Also after mondo’s death, Taka starved himself of fear that monokuma put the remains of mondo (the butter) into the food. You can see it more clearly when watching the anime. His face is more pale and his jawbone is showing a little bit. (Like how it would look it you haven’t eaten in a long time. - I don’t really know how to explain it.)
Not true, just a playground rumor. What is true and backed by Kodaka is that they changed or omitted certain details of his backstory because it was “too dark”.

First, Nagito's it's not the darkest backstory he's gone through some deep shit, his parents died in front of him, his dog died, he was kidnaped by a serial killer and genuinely feels like shit. Overall definitely not the worst but horrible nonetheless. Second, Nagisa's he was forced to study and if he ever got tired he would have an iv in his arm and there's more to it but that's all I'm going to talk about. Third, Masaru's he had an alcoholic father who wanted him to get alcohol and I think cigarettes and if Masaru was sent home for obvious reasons, his father would beat and abuse him. Forth, Toko's she was born at the same time as another child who was born from the same father yet different mother of her, the other kid had died in birth and the hospital confused the two leaving them both confused. Neither mother took a blood test and took Toko in like their own child except they hated her because she was the spawn of an affair, they abused her. Fifth, Jataro's his mother was jealous of him and how he took everything away from her(damn if you wanted to fulfill your life put him up for adoption), he wasn't ugly yet she said he was and that his face could "burn someone's eyes out". Which is why he says stuff like that she also made it known she hated him so he thought it was normal. It was hard to decide where to put these two as they are equally as bad Sixth, Monaca's she was an unwanted child by both parents, she was disliked by her brother and father due to her talent, Nagisa also mentions "Monaca's legs that was done to her by her family" but it's unknown if you can take it for face value or not. Seventh, Kotoko's by far the worst one, she was sexually assaulted, possibly ®aped and other disgusting shit happen, it's unknown who made her start this as her mother is mentioned yet it says "she's going to come with, ok?" Two honerable mentions are, Hiyoko's she had nails, I believe put in her shoes and a lot more stuff. Mikan's, she was physically, emotionally and possibly sexually abused by people in her family and in other places, like school. Among other things, she mentioned being splashed with water, smeared with mud, and getting burned with cigarettes. Damn this is long. It's still the darkest parts to me.....
Danganronpa's darker moments is how the fandom is capable to create cursed fanfics. Nagito Has Fun, Kokichi Has Fun, RE:LAY (Kuroiwa Madoka) CLOSED Super Danganronpa 2 and Limbless Hajime to name a few

Aha I wouldn't worry too much. The whole point of hypnosis is it doesn't work unless you actively want it to. Usually it's more to help people sleep and stuff, but I imagine most people doing the hypnosis vids are just having fun; kinda just a slightly elevated kin thing.
For the tapes, I think that the human brain would actually start believing when told something many times. I even saw videos of people getting "fake memories" because the doctor told them about this memory that apparently forgot. As much as I am curious about how it works, I would never try it out myself. Especially knowing that it would probably be really hard to wake up from it. I understand your discomfort. Humans are scary creatures
i think that the seance in DRV3 Ch 3 was a pretty dark scene (no pun intended). sure the seesaw meme is fun, but it really drowns out the eerier side of the chapter. i found it really interesting how the song of the caged child tied in with the murder case: (spoilers for that chapter) "how many will there be by dawn? will there be 2 or just one?" - referring to the number of victims "will the guard dog run far away" - there's a theory that if the dog statue fell off when Kiyo stamped on the floorboard, the sickle would move out of place, and Tenko might've survived "or did it eat the little girl?" - the dog statue keeping the sickle in place, therefore killing Tenko
The Student Council Killing Game remains the darkest danganronpa thing that I ever reacted to, let's be glad for actually having class trials and rules in the games, otherwise this wouldn't be Despair but Carnage

The Darkest thing in Dangaronpa is how Hope's Peak despite knowing Historials , Talents and possible threats let them enter go and do and destroy without an authority or goverment to stop them (And more when you know that Goverment or Other institutions helped Hope's peak and Izuru's case)

Darkest moment for me would be nekomaru’s death. People brush over it because he’s a robot and theirs oil instead of blood. But just look at how they found his body and then imagine if it was blood and an actual human body...

I actually tried the hypnosis tapes back when I was in the mlp fandom (I was 12) ill tell you that it only works for about a couple minutes to maybe an hour, I remember genuinely thinking I was pinkie pie and was on all 4s and it felt natural to me. I couldn't type to my friends properly because my fingers felt like they were stuck together. But once again, the effects wore off in a matter of minutes, I even tried the "Permanent Pegasus" version, that one straight up only worked for an hour and wore off, the same experience goes for my friends. BUT, please do becareful yall. Cuz who knows? Maybe someone out there is still rainbow dash to this day..

Darkest moments? Weeeellll, from everything about ultra despair girls then passing by pretty much all executions and finally to Mirai-hen... I could say it's the whole series/games. But something about the warriors of hope, the remnants of despair, Chiaki's anime execution, Izuru Kamukura and Mikan's whole character is just particularly... unsettling to me.
imo one of the darkest moments was when shuichi and the others found out about the outside world and everyone got really depressed. then we see shuichi stay in his room for like maybe two days and i think he didn't eat anything either and before maki came to his room he was saying "i should just kill myself" or something like that.
To clear things off incase anyone misunderstood, Yes the "Nagito Kinnie cuts their finger off" Is FAKE. The audio is false and so is the picture. The "victim" simply wrapped the bandage around her fingers and snapped a picture. The audio was also planned (it should be obvious, when someone cuts off a part of their body, they wouldn't just say an "ow". Multiple cries (in pain) and sniffles should be heard (unless you're covering Ur mouth with duct tape but she was still talking), but the only thing heard was nothing but a few 'ow's and their friends "paniking") It was soon found out that the reason why the person "cut their finger off" (they didn't) is because they want to be the "Ultimate Nagito Kinnie" which is why they faked this whole thing. Tbh that's just stupid.
It's probably not the worst, but when you hear about what the remnants of despair did. (SPOILERS) - - - - - LIKE- Akane starved herself, sonia made her country commit mass suicide, teruteru killed and ate his mother, nagito cut off his arm and replaced it with junkos, fuyuhiko replaced his eye with junkos, mikan inserted junkos womb inside her, hinata gave over his parents to junko, kazuichi put guns on cars and committed mass murder.
I can’t help but feel terrible for Teruteru. My guy wanted to see his mom soo bad. Little did he know she was with him the whole time. Maybe Teruteru cooked her into....teruteru fried chicken.?

The rumor about the Hiyoko Beta Death was probably started by someone who disliked Hiyoko and Teruteru and therefore created this urban legend where Teruteru does this murder plan that is clearly meant to be messed up enough to make sure there is nothing but disgust and hatred for Teruteru and get Hiyoko out of the story early on.
I’ve stumbled across one of the hypnosis tapes on accident around a few months ago. Oh my god they are freakier than you would think. It was late at night and I couldn’t fall asleep, I was browsing Junko Enoshima videos and I found a hypnosis tape for her. For whatever reason I thought it would help me fall asleep, but boy was I wrong. I only got around 2 minutes in before I had to turn it off, it just made me feel really uneasy listening to it and I felt genuine dread. It was this text to speech female voice in the background (and for some reason text to speech voices really freak me out in creepy contexts, more than they should.) and there was this ominous background music, almost like ambience in a horror game. I can’t remember exactly what was said, and I don’t want to go back to find out. I remember it said something along the lines of “listen to my voice” over and over again at one point. I can’t really express how creepy it was through this comment, like it’s so freaky that I genuinely start to tear up slightly when I think about it. So PLEASE, do not go looking for the hypnosis tapes.
woah. i actually listened to one of those hypnosis audios you spoke about at the end. it just randomly came through my reccomened one day..it was about junko i think. i clicked on it and thought it was some kind of shitpost or something, so after listening to a couple minutes of it and having a good laugh i clicked off the video and didn't think much of it. i had literally no clue people actually used those to convince themselves they were a fictional character. feels weird now looking back.
If the Nagito kinnie actually cut off their finger (With video evidence or something), imagine what the creators of Danganrompa would have to do. There may have been no more Nagito in DR2 or no DR2. Ahhh the last topic in the video is well...yes, it's not just a Danganronpa thing. 'Turn yourself into a character' hypnosis videos have been around for a while. It's not the sort of thing I feel like you can just tell other people is bad, or something. I really don't know much about it myself, but there's many trending forms of escapism that can be considered bad for those same reasons. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for someone to deliberately tamper with their mind (creating tulpas, reality shifting, etc.), but I've come to accept it's not a thing well researched enough for anyone to make clear judgements about.

Kokichi and his dad went to check out the animals while the mom went to get the snacks. Later Kokichis dad pushes him where there are gorillas, and that’s where the disturbing reading happens, there is blood, r*ping, and death. It’s detailed how he died so if you don’t like that, don’t search it up
One question: Was the whole cast* represented or were there repeat characters among the sixteen cosplayers? Aha I wouldn't worry too much. The whole point of hypnosis is it doesn't work unless you actively want it to. Usually it's more to help people sleep and stuff, but I imagine most people doing the hypnosis vids are just having fun; kinda just a slightly elevated kin thing.

For the tapes, I think that the human brain would actually start believing when told something many times. I even saw videos of people getting "fake memories" because the doctor told them about this memory that apparently forgot. As much as I am curious about how it works, I would never try it out myself. Especially knowing that it would probably be really hard to wake up from it. I understand your discomfort. Humans are scary creatures

i think that the seance in DRV3 Ch 3 was a pretty dark scene (no pun intended). sure the seesaw meme is fun, but it really drowns out the eerier side of the chapter. i found it really interesting how the song of the caged child tied in with the murder case: (spoilers for that chapter)
"how many will there be by dawn? will there be 2 or just one?" - referring to the number of victims
"will the guard dog run far away" - there's a theory that if the dog statue fell off when Kiyo stamped on the floorboard, the sickle would move out of place, and Tenko might've survived
"or did it eat the little girl?" - the dog statue keeping the sickle in place, therefore killing Tenko
The Student Council Killing Game remains the darkest danganronpa thing that I ever reacted to, let's be glad for actually having class trials and rules in the games, otherwise this wouldn't be Despair but Carnage

one of the darkest moments for me was chiaki's death in the anime the way junko gave her false hope and the way she was put in the death maze and the ending of how she got killed and all her classmates having to watch it. even now when I watch it I start to tear up.

I actually tried the hypnosis tapes back when I was in the mlp fandom (I was 12) ill tell you that it only works for about a couple minutes to maybe an hour, I remember genuinely thinking I was pinkie pie and was on all 4s and it felt natural to me. I couldn't type to my friends properly because my fingers felt like they were stuck together. But once again, the effects wore off in a matter of minutes, I even tried the "Permanent Pegasus" version, that one straight up only worked for an hour and wore off, the same experience goes for my friends. BUT, please do becareful yall. Cuz who knows? Maybe someone out there is still rainbow dash to this day..

Darkest moments? Weeeellll, from everything about ultra despair girls then passing by pretty much all executions and finally to Mirai-hen... I could say it's the whole series/games. But something about the warriors of hope, the remnants of despair, Chiaki's anime execution, Izuru Kamukura and Mikan's whole character is just particularly... unsettling to me.
imo one of the darkest moments was when shuichi and the others found out about the outside world and everyone got really depressed. then we see shuichi stay in his room for like maybe two days and i think he didn't eat anything either and before maki came to his room he was saying "i should just kill myself" or something like that.

I think those transformation tapes are more like fetish-"art" than actual serious stuff.
To clear things off incase anyone misunderstood, Yes the "Nagito Kinnie cuts their finger off" Is FAKE. The audio is false and so is the picture. The "victim" simply wrapped the bandage around her fingers and snapped a picture. The audio was also planned (it should be obvious, when someone cuts off a part of their body, they wouldn't just say an "ow". Multiple cries (in pain) and sniffles should be heard (unless you're covering Ur mouth with duct tape but she was still talking), but the only thing heard was nothing but a few 'ow's and their friends "paniking") It was soon found out that the reason why the person "cut their finger off" (they didn't) is because they want to be the "Ultimate Nagito Kinnie" which is why they faked this whole thing. Tbh that's just stupid.

The darkest moments for me are: One of the ultimate despairs having children with Junko's dead body, Ibuki's death, Kirumi's execution, Chisa's lobotomy, one of the reverse course students commiting suicide by Junko's video, and Chiaki's anime execution
The rumor about the Hiyoko Beta Death was probably started by someone who disliked Hiyoko and Teruteru and therefore created this urban legend where Teruteru does this murder plan that is clearly meant to be messed up enough to make sure there is nothing but disgust and hatred for Teruteru and get Hiyoko out of the story early on.

I’ve stumbled across one of the hypnosis tapes on accident around a few months ago. Oh my god they are freakier than you would think. It was late at night and I couldn’t fall asleep, I was browsing Junko Enoshima videos and I found a hypnosis tape for her. For whatever reason I thought it would help me fall asleep, but boy was I wrong. I only got around 2 minutes in before I had to turn it off, it just made me feel really uneasy listening to it and I felt genuine dread. It was this text to speech female voice in the background (and for some reason text to speech voices really freak me out in creepy contexts, more than they should.) and there was this ominous background music, almost like ambience in a horror game. I can’t remember exactly what was said, and I don’t want to go back to find out. I remember it said something along the lines of “listen to my voice” over and over again at one point. I can’t really express how creepy it was through this comment, like it’s so freaky that I genuinely start to tear up slightly when I think about it. So PLEASE, do not go looking for the hypnosis tapes.

it just randomly came through my reccomened one day..it was about junko i think. i clicked on it and thought it was some kind of shitpost or something, so after listening to a couple minutes of it and having a good laugh i clicked off the video and didn't think much of it. i had literally no clue people actually used those to convince themselves they were a fictional character. feels weird now looking back.

If the Nagito kinnie actually cut off their finger (With video evidence or something), imagine what the creators of Danganrompa would have to do. There may have been no more Nagito in DR2 or no DR2. Ahhh the last topic in the video is well...yes, it's not just a Danganronpa thing. 'Turn yourself into a character' hypnosis videos have been around for a while. It's not the sort of thing I feel like you can just tell other people is bad, or something. I really don't know much about it myself, but there's many trending forms of escapism that can be considered bad for those same reasons. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for someone to deliberately tamper with their mind (creating tulpas, reality shifting, etc.), but I've come to accept it's not a thing well researched enough for anyone to make clear judgements about.
There is a fan fiction of Kokichi, called “Kokichi’s day at the Zoo” (Don’t search it up if you find this disturbing, Gore) And this fan fiction scares me
