I can explain why I love Ibuki without just waifu or kin; 1: Ibuki is a ball of sunshine. I absolutely love her personality and she definitely helps with an even slightly more positive mood on the island. 2: She is 100% herself at all times. I adore this in a character, throughout the game she is always herself and even left behind her old band so she could continue to be herself. she doesn't care what you think or say about her, shes not going to change. 3: the quote "'Cause...Hajime is already standing right here. I feel like you're someone who's willing to go far away to search for yourself... But your true self...doesn't actually exist anywhere. The person standing here right now is who you are. The person who's changing every day... That's you."
I don’t know about everyone else but my favs are: Kirigiri Ibuki Shuichi And Monokuma cuz who else can top him- NO! Get that Nagito picture out of my face!
For Mikan, I think she has one of the most outright miserable backstories in the franchise and people really feel bad for her and wish to see her happy. She's a victim of so many different fucked up forms of abuse, plus she's implied to have been abused (emotionally, phisically, and/or sexually) for basically all her life, you gotta feel bad for her. She's baby, your honor.
Not as to try & discount to point, but the odds are, Toko or Taka had the most painful backstories, since DID only happens after severe, repeating trauma while Taka's backstory was considered 'Too dark for a _killing game_ '. Of course, Mikan also had it awful, but I just wanted to point that out.

It's impossible to measure levels of trauma/misery because there's a lot of factors involved in how certain events can affect people, but there's definitely some charas that have had it worse than others, and I think Mikan is easily up there.

He's by far one of the most well-written characters in Danganronpa and as someone who enjoys analyzing, trying to understand him despite his insanity was a very unique and entertaining experience. He's also the 1st character that truly felt like a wildcard and I appreciate how much thrill that added for me.
I've seen so many comments saying how they got into Danganronpa and Imma say the way I first to into it was really weird. I went into it _blind._ And I mean blinder than most, I knew none of the character designs and I only bought the game because I heard about it once and once quarantine started I was like 'yEah SuRe I'm bOreD' So I got the game and started playing. Oh, I also thought Hatsune Miku was Danganronpa character before I played or knew about Vocaloid.
People hate her because she's an "Aoi clone." I believe she's adorable, and her backstory is interesting. And I lowkey had a crush on her when I was younger 👀

I really don't like the antagonists. I appreciate them as good villains/antagonists and their backstories, but the way they act in game kinda makes me hate them. (Basically, it's a love/hate relationship for me with the antags)

Surprised Fuyuhiko wasn’t here. He honestly had one of the best written redemption arcs in the series in my opinion. But I guess he isn’t talked about as I expected. He’s one of my “Big 5” characters along with Miu, Tsumugi, Hajime, and Mikan.

Celeste was my favorite Character from the original(with Taka in A REALLY close second and Toko in third) Celeste was also an antagonist And while I feel a lot of people don’t like her (likely due to her lack of character development) I honestly kinda find that refreshing as Celeste was an interesting character to begin with. I agree that Gundham was the best character in sdr2. (Peko and Ibuki are good runner ups) His whorl thing of Dark prince of Ice and Devas of destruction while still combing a good backstory and a decent character development made him a really cool character!
I do feel a bit sad that Kaito wasn’t included as he was my favorite character from v3. (The only people who I wouldn’t put in runner up is Shuichi Himiko Rantaro Kokichi Tenko and Ryoma.) Kaito was a really funny and really nice character. He had a good charcater development and his passion for cooperation combined with Maki and Shuichi training sessions just made him an all around great character
My top three (In no specific order) from the three main games: DR1 - Sakura, Kyoko, and Toko (Though the latter is only cause she got mega development in UDG) SDR2 - Fuyuhiko, Gundham, and Mahiru (Tbh, I love the entire Goodbye Despair cast, so picking three was hard) NDRV3 - Kokichi, Kaito, and Maki (Subject to change, as I haven't actually finished V3 yet)

Shrine of Hඒpe Well, I’ll just do it right now. The first reason I like Kokichi is his design. There’s really no point in explaining how good his design is, everyone should know that from the start- my second reason is that his introduction. He sounds excited and very happy, and that makes me smile a little bit. He got me worked up on his character when the introduction started. The third reason is his motive. He technically sacrificed himself, kinda like Sakura. He wanted to end the killing game by being the last death, and everyone else to be at least a bit happier. Unfortunately, they cast him out and only focused on Kaito, which made me extremely angry. The fourth reason is that he’s an interesting and well-written character. He has a great backstory to his past, like DICE and etc. No one really realized how interesting he was, it made you ask so many questions. For example: Who is DICE? Does he trust anyone? Does he really have bad intentions? Is he lying just for attention or good intentions? So many things. The fifth reason is his relationship with everyone. His relationship with Kiibo, Shuichi, Himiko and Miu are really great. Especially Shuichi! In love hotel, Shuichi wanted Kokichi to stay and he wasn’t uncomfortable by Kokichi unlike the others (not talking about Kiibo or Rantaro). Kokichi also had a big crush on Shuichi, it made me excited. His relationship with Kiibo was cute. It’s like a love hate friendship! Himiko is all right, but she gets a little mad sometimes. When Kokichi insults Miu and makes fun of her, it always makes me laugh. Her reactions are so funny too.

Kokichi is really popular and is personally my favorite but I really like him because I looked deep into his backstory and character analysis and overall relate to him on a deeper level. I don't like how he can be reduced to almost a different character in the Fandom but I'm not saying it's that big of a deal. It's not everyone and I don't judge interpretation but I just personally like him because like I said, I connected to Kokichi and it's not often that I see a character that is as much like me as Kokichi is (I'm a compulsive liar and have other issues from childhood trauma and I get being hated and not trusted by my peers)

Personally, I absolutely love Gundham. He was the first person I heard of in the 2nd game because I kept seeing TikToks with "GUNDHAM TANAKA". But also, at first I thought his design was just cool but I really liked his backstory. He didn't have any friends and he felt as if he was a monster to the outside world, but he stayed strong for his mother, even eating her terrible food to make her happy. But when his mother died, he decided to become the monster everyone saw him as, even though he's not very good at it. His backstory is just really neat and simple yet he manages to be really interesting. (Also, he doesn't wear underwear?? Why????)

The reason i love Kokichi SO MUCH i saw Kokichi everywere before i joined the Dr fandom Before i joined the fandom, i hated danganronpa because all of my fav youtubers started to make videos about it and it kinda annoyed me. Then when i started to play it i loved it and i wanted to see Kokichi right away lol, when i Got to the V3 i was so excited to see him, when i meet him in the game i liked his character and i expected more from him because he was very popular and in the trials he was literally a BIG MOOD he made me laugh every fucking time which made me love him SO much After the 4. He's by far one of the most well-written characters in Danganronpa and as someone who enjoys analyzing, trying to understand him despite his insanity was a very unique and entertaining experience. He's also the 1st character that truly felt like a wildcard and I appreciate how much thrill that added for me.

I've seen so many comments saying how they got into Danganronpa and Imma say the way I first to into it was really weird. I went into it _blind._ And I mean blinder than most, I knew none of the character designs and I only bought the game because I heard about it once and once quarantine started I was like 'yEah SuRe I'm bOreD' So I got the game and started playing. Oh, I also thought Hatsune Miku was Danganronpa character before I played or knew about Vocaloid.

Celeste was my favorite Character from the original(with Taka in A REALLY close second and Toko in third) Celeste was also an antagonist And while I feel a lot of people don’t like her (likely due to her lack of character development) I honestly kinda find that refreshing as Celeste was an interesting character to begin with. Also her character design is amazing fight me.
I agree that Gundham was the best character in sdr2. (Peko and Ibuki are good runner ups) His whorl thing of Dark prince of Ice and Devas of destruction while still combing a good backstory and a decent character development made him a really cool character!
I do feel a bit sad that Kaito wasn’t included as he was my favorite character from v3. (The only people who I wouldn’t put in runner up is Shuichi Himiko Rantaro Kokichi Tenko and Ryoma.) Kaito was a really funny and really nice character. He had a good charcater development and his passion for cooperation combined with Maki and Shuichi training sessions just made him an all around great character

Nagito was the first ever character I saw before I even knew what "Danganronpa" was. Followed by Junko
havent watched a minute of this video but i think the most popular characters have to include Kokichi and Junko for sure. as for less safe opinions, Kyoko and Byakuya are very high up there, Nagito of course, maybe Miu.

Shrine of Hඒpe Well, I’ll just do it right now. The first reason I like Kokichi is his design. There’s really no point in explaining how good his design is, everyone should know that from the start- my second reason is that his introduction. He sounds excited and very happy, and that makes me smile a little bit. He got me worked up on his character when the introduction started. The third reason is his motive. He technically sacrificed himself, kinda like Sakura. He wanted to end the killing game by being the last death, and everyone else to be at least a bit happier. Unfortunately, they cast him out and only focused on Kaito, which made me extremely angry. The fourth reason is that he’s an interesting and well-written character. He has a great backstory to his past, like DICE and etc. No one really realized how interesting he was, it made you ask so many questions. For example: Who is DICE? Does he trust anyone? Does he really have bad intentions? Is he lying just for attention or good intentions? So many things. The fifth reason is his relationship with everyone. His relationship with Kiibo, Shuichi, Himiko and Miu are really great. Especially Shuichi! In love hotel, Shuichi wanted Kokichi to stay and he wasn’t uncomfortable by Kokichi unlike the others (not talking about Kiibo or Rantaro). Kokichi also had a big crush on Shuichi, it made me excited. His relationship with Kiibo was cute. It’s like a love hate friendship! Himiko is all right, but she gets a little mad sometimes. When Kokichi insults Miu and makes fun of her, it always makes me laugh. Her reactions are so funny too.

Kokichi is really popular and is personally my favorite but I really like him because I looked deep into his backstory and character analysis and overall relate to him on a deeper level. I don't like how he can be reduced to almost a different character in the Fandom but I'm not saying it's that big of a deal. It's not everyone and I don't judge interpretation but I just personally like him because like I said, I connected to Kokichi and it's not often that I see a character that is as much like me as Kokichi is (I'm a compulsive liar and have other issues from childhood trauma and I get being hated and not trusted by my peers)

She makes all those falls for attention and responds to rude comments so people will give her attention. She isn't fanservice, she's an attention seeker. Personally, I absolutely love Gundham. He was the first person I heard of in the 2nd game because I kept seeing TikToks with "GUNDHAM TANAKA". But also, at first I thought his design was just cool but I really liked his backstory. He didn't have any friends and he felt as if he was a monster to the outside world, but he stayed strong for his mother, even eating her terrible food to make her happy. But when his mother died, he decided to become the monster everyone saw him as, even though he's not very good at it. His backstory is just really neat and simple yet he manages to be really interesting.

The reason i love Kokichi SO MUCH
i saw Kokichi everywere before i joined the Dr fandom
Before i joined the fandom, i hated danganronpa because all of my fav youtubers started to make videos about it and it kinda annoyed me. Then when i started to play it i loved it and i wanted to see Kokichi right away lol, when i Got to the V3 i was so excited to see him, when i meet him in the game i liked his character and i expected more from him because he was very popular and in the trials he was literally a BIG MOOD he made me laugh every fucking time which made me love him SO much
After the 4. Trial i was a little upset but i Just couldn't get myself to hate him

After he died im chapter 5 i literally cried for HOURS, Everyone Said dont get too attracted to the characters.... Now i understand why 😭
