Love this footage,.....I set the lap record there on my Ferracci Ducati 955 in 1995 when I won the National Superbike race there. It is the best track in Canada and may always be.
I was 1 year old when they started building. My parents took me to the big races every year. I take my son every year now. Awesome track and experience.
Fabulous footage with imeasurable historic value. Especially interesting how turn 5 was original designed and long consistent radius, sweeping bend, but eventually redesigned into 2 distinct apex' of 5a and 5b! I suspect in large part to slow the vehicles down before the long charge up "Graham Hill" and into the esses of 8,9 and 10! Fascinating bit of unknown history in that one bit of footage! Thanks very much for posting!
Very cool. I found it very interesting how forest much more developed nowdays, particularly down at the hairpin and up the back straight. Thanks for the video, Cheers, Al.
Wonderful video! We used to go to Mosport in the 60's and really enjoyed the grand touring car and sports car races. Blew our socks off though when the late model stock cars first raced there and rounded turn 2 and 3 three-abreast!
now that is a great upload , such history there i was at the last f1 race there but i was just a kid , sat on the opposite of turn two , i have walked that track to many times to count , now i go there as a pit crew member for ncats .
AMAZING!!!... I've lapped Mosport many times, but not in the dirt! probably made corner 2 a bit more fun, especially when cars are coming up the wrong way ;)..
wow, I grew up at this track, and know it corner for corner..if only these guys knew, or did they, what it would turn into. what a great look back at the beginning of the HAPPY TRACK!!
I grew up there too. My father was a share holder in Moport Ltd. Had an aunt & uncle who lived just 5 min's from the track. I remember looking at the fields when there were just lots of tire tracks and sticks with ribbons on them. My first lap was in the front seat of '53 Studebaker when the track was all dirt. It had to be later then this movie though because the surface was much smoother with no ruts. Probably just before they started the paving. Thank you so very much for this.
re: vantage point; it's all a matter of preferance but I like portaging my stuff to turn five, got the whole place to yourself and quite a view, lot's of passing.

It's interesting how the trackside footage was shot from vantage points that turned out to be the best places to watch and photograph races from.
Very cool.
