It's hard to believe that the first Canadian GP was in 1967, and the last one not in Montreal was only ten years later. In many ways F1 has come a long way, but even F1 was primitive back then compared to today. At Mosport, you could walk right into the garages and be close enough to touch the cars and speak with the drivers. No huge motorhomes (only trailers) and entertainment centres, just tents with beer and souvenirs. Good times.
You can still walk through the entire paddock area at Mosport with a general admission ticket to this day. Even walk the track after the racing is done for the day
They never should have moved our GP from Mosport to Montreal. That circuit is boring compared to Mosport. And today you can't get near a driver for a picture or autograph, that's for the rich and the celebrities who don't know fuck all about the sport. A beer now is ten bucks and two is enough to buy a case of twelve. F1 ucks now and it's all about the money!
They’re both special in their own right. I’ve had the pleasure of driving around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and it’s a good track. Mosport was deemed too “unsafe” I heard for Formula 1 cars

CAD GP weather at Mosport always sucked but it was good times nonetheless. Remembered fondly.
