This video make it look so easy! I feel like I'm up for some challenge here. I wonder now how long it will take me to actually afford the upgrade! LOL!
I have watched over about 100 Install videos on upgrading my 10th Gen and I can easily say your videos are beyond everyone out there making install videos! they should learn from you, you actually show the hard parts of the install and how to get the job done simply amazing keep it up!!!!
You legit create the most in depth video about this i have ever seen thankyou i just got my civic and im trying to get more familiar with my car regardless of whether or not i will mod it
The 1.5L Turbo L15B7 engines are efficient by design, but I hear were limited in upgrading options if equipped with a CVT. Most likely due to either heat absorption or TCM programming issues.
Excellent question BigPapi969! The copper washer is a crush washer, similar to what you'll find in use with a banjo bolt on a brake caliper. It crushes when the lone is torqued and functions as a high-heat gasket. Thank you for your question and support of the channel!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! I love the W1 - it's a great upgrade for a daily driver to have a little more fun with. The ease of install and the compatibility is a bit of a trade off for max power if compared with the big turbo kits out there but the w1 is a solid product. Lots of kms and not a single issue so far.
Thank you for your kind words and your question! Unfortunately the ports visually look different (to me) and Honda has confirmed that the 10th gen Civic and 2nd gen Fit have different gasket part #'s. I'm not 100% sure but I think you're out of luck.
Excellent question! Although it's a good practice to prime the turbo, i dont believe 27won lists that requirement in their instructions. I would think the oil pump primes something small like a turbo quite quickly.
How can’t I make the civic 2L non turbocharged so I want to put a turbo can’t you help I’m handicap and I love the vessel off turbo can’t you help please 🙏 the car yer is 2020
Although the accord is available with the 1.5t, there could be some differences in the exhaust manifold that could prevent correct mounting. My best advice is to send this question to Vincent directly at 27won performance. sales@27won.com
Thanks for your question Pat! Because I was filming, it took much longer than "normal", but I'd say if you're mechanically inclined, (and have the right tools) the install can be done in a solid saturday. Quicker if you've got another set of hands to help out.
When you put a 40 psi turbo on your si and yell super saiyan god super saiyan blue kioken and your 1.5l makes 500hp for 10 seconds and then explodes at the end of q/4 mile in 9.96 seconds@ 150mph 😂🎉🤣🤷♂️🤗🙃👌
Was just wondering if you have upgraded the stock clutch or not? Maybe I missed an earlier video or mention of that. Great video and can’t wait to see your future vids of you putting down some serious power!
Thank you for your question! I've upgraded the clutch to a Spec stage 2+ Episodes 13 and 14 cover the removal and installation. Thank you for your kind words - Once Phase 2 is finished, she's off to the tuner - then the real fun begins!!
Very good question- not sure the answer as I dont live in California. Your best bet is to contact Vincent or one of the team at 27Won for the most accurate info.
Depends on your goals. For me it would be a lot more expensive to get a Type R. A low mile Type R with a few mods would be near $45k. My 1.5T is at 300whp with like $30k spent total.
Solid video man.

Wow! Steven, thank you so much for your kind words!
Great video and the side by side comparison was excellent.

Late comment, but your 10th gen Civic videos are super great, Rick! Your Intercooler one was a lifesaver for me. Earned my sub easy!
Better late than never - Thanks very much for the kind words! Tell a friend about the channel too! 😎
This is the channel I need to be up there with Donut Media and Hoonigans. Technical, concise, and easy to understnad.
Thank you very much for your kind words!
Now That’s a detailed video..love it
You just earned a sub with this amazingly detailed but not too long video!
Thank you for your INCREDIBLY in depth video. SO informative and when I upgrade my turbo I'll be referencing this for sure. :]
Having the torque specs help a lot as it's important to not break or strip bolts. Whenever I upgrade to a drop in. This will be my video to go to.
This was a great video man, you deserve way more subscribers! Keep up the quality work!
New subscriber! Your editing is terrific and content is perfect
I am very glad to see this video. I will use this along with the provided 27won instructions when I finally get my W1. Thank you for this.
Love the new edit 😎
This man need more subs no cap
So lovly good job!!!!
You should do a engine startup with the new turbo, revs and first drive compared to the stock turbo
I like the way you think - Once phase 3 is done, I'm going to be doing a full shakedown vid!
There’s still a lot to learn about this 10th gen 🧬 1.5 T engine . I’m really happy that they can make 230horse power with just a few mods .
The 1.5L Turbo L15B7 engines are efficient by design, but I hear were limited in upgrading options if equipped with a CVT. Most likely due to either heat absorption or TCM programming issues.
Dude a pherable tune alone itl make 235 hp lol
Excellent straightforward explanations
So details!!
What’s the purpose of the copper washer in the oil line on the turbo?
Excellent question BigPapi969! The copper washer is a crush washer, similar to what you'll find in use with a banjo bolt on a brake caliper. It crushes when the lone is torqued and functions as a high-heat gasket.

Thanks for making this video. Considering upgrading my turbo as well. How do you like the W1 turbo?
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! I love the W1 - it's a great upgrade for a daily driver to have a little more fun with. The ease of install and the compatibility is a bit of a trade off for max power if compared with the big turbo kits out there but the w1 is a solid product. Lots of kms and not a single issue so far.

I installed turbocharger on my 2016 honda civic touring 1.5 gasket are new and its still leaking oil can you help
Wastegate transfers over? No preload?
27won says it's a straight swap
Great video! How are you liking the finished product???
You got my sub
Excellent videoo! Did you know if l15 head exhaust port is the same? I mean the civic and the Fit Sport 2nd Gen .
Thank you for your kind words and your question! Unfortunately the ports visually look different (to me) and Honda has confirmed that the 10th gen Civic and 2nd gen Fit have different gasket part #'s. I'm not 100% sure but I think you're out of luck.
Now that's not saying the l15b7 head won't fit on your l15a...
Thanks for the info..
Are these the same as 2017 Honda Civic EXT Sedan
I think the Si turbo had a different internals to the EXT, but I believe everything else is the same. Best contact 27Won to confirm fitment.
Do you have to prime the turbo before starting?
Excellent question! Although it's a good practice to prime the turbo, i dont believe 27won lists that requirement in their instructions.
I would think the oil pump primes something small like a turbo quite quickly.
Do you recommend the admission of skunk2? and the blox throttle body for honda civic 10 gen?
I think they'd both add some power and response - as long as you get a good tune for everything
How can’t I make the civic 2L non turbocharged so I want to put a turbo can’t you help I’m handicap and I love the vessel off turbo can’t you help please 🙏 the car yer is 2020
Did you had to do anything with the WG as far as calibration?
Absolutely nothing. 27Won did their homework making this a complete drop-in replacement for OEM
@@RicksGarage awesome, thanks
Who is the manufacturer for factory turbo? Is it Garrett?
According to the stamping on the OEM turbo, it's made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
It seems they used lot of Mitsubishi industry stuff on this car. Even the stock intercooler is MHI
Sai KO stock intercooler on the 1.5t civics are by Mahle
@@RicksGarage Too bad they couldn't have just put the Mitsubishi 4G63 in the 10th gen civics. :p I wouldn't mind.
Will this turbo be able to be swapped to the 1.5 Accord engine? Thank you.

@@RicksGarage Thank you.

Thanks for your question Pat!

@@RicksGarage awesome. You made it look easy. Thank you!
Does it fit on 2019 civic si coupe??🤔
It certainly should
When installing the 27won turbo does it have to be program or tuned? Or just install and thats it?
I believe you COULD drive the car as-is after install but I'd always recommend a tune after changing how much air is being pumped into the motor.
Were do u guet the turbo I have 2019 civic 10th gen
Thank you for your question Juan - link to the product is in the video description.

What’s the tune you use for it?
Miss Vicky is now running hondata and she received a custom dyno tune
Rick's Garage I though is ktuner. Thanks for replying

Good 👍 ASS job Brudda ✌.
All I have left is flex fuel and this turbo and my car is complete
Guys will this work on a 1.5 accord? 2019
CA smog legal?
Very good question- not sure the answer as I dont live in California. Your best bet is to contact Vincent or one of the team at 27Won for the most accurate info.
Do u do installs ?
Only on my own projects. Wrenching on cars and the like is just my hobby.
do I need a tune for this ?
I would highly recommend it to utilize all of it's potential
Why Honda went with turbo on almost all of their cars? SMH
Cannot justify upgrade turbo and other mods on the 1.5.....buy a type R and just do a simple tune....350 hp
Depends on your goals. For me it would be a lot more expensive to get a Type R. A low mile Type R with a few mods would be near $45k. My 1.5T is at 300whp with like $30k spent total.
