almost certainly going to get one of these. in my situation, i also like that I can take it with me into the great outdoors, camping and/or in my van at the beach....not to mention great tones available to practice with and still have the folks on the other side of the wall in my neighboring apartment be on good terms so they don't want to revenge on me with their stereo blasting cringe-worthy crap while I need to get some sleep. enjoyed the demo Cameron, especially it being shown without any additional 'spices'. even for those of us who cannot (yet, if ever) play at your level, we're hearing what the equipment honestly is capable of. reaching all possible heights is now up to us to make happen.
@@kyledadams It's always about the player. I own the Yamaha thr10ii and the thing sounds amazing to me. It responds so well to the guitar and almost has a tube like edge of breakup feeling when turned up.

@@hesch-tag probably 10 tbh. Imo any amp has to be cranked a little bit to sound good and my boss katana air doesn't sound good at volumes you need at midnight. I'd get as few watts as possible

But its so versatile my daughter has no trouble pulling up her George Harrison Beatles tones (Gretch and Tele). I've yet to find the time to tweek it with the app. I wish it had a speaker cab out, but I expect there are ways I've yet to explore. All in all, I'm in 5 for 5!
I bought the original version many years ago, and it was expense then, but the sound and many uses made up for it. This new version is very cool, but holy shit, the price. Ill stick with the original, still works perfectly.

The key is the rechargeable built in battery. So portable. Sounds loud as hell anywhere, the beach, busking... that’s the only way I was able to justify it.
Does this amp cut the volume (when running on batteries) when the gain is up high & the volume is as well? The THR10x did. Yamaha told me it was built-in to protect the amp. It was fine when plugged into AC though. Also, Yamaha SHOULD include the relay transmitter, Katana includes the transmitter with the Air amp.
The has a chargeable battery built in like a laptop so you can play it as a normal even when you aren't plugged into the mains. I never noticed a change in sound which I thought was brilliant!
I love your playing, but I think your THR-X sounded fuller. This one sounds slightly thinner. I think it's because the front in pushed in, where the THR-X is a tad bigger for a little more bass response.

Hi there ! Great review. ! Question is it possible to connect your guitar wireless to some effect pedals and these effect pedals then connect (wireless or by cable) to the yamaha 30II wireless speaker ? Or is it better to add the effect pedals after the speaker ? What would be a good solution ?
I am sure there is a way you can wirelessly run a pedal board through it but I would recommend researching how others manage something like that. I would stick with cables and run them through the front when the amp is on a clean setting
Do you know if Yamaha has any plans to take these new tones and release them into a 2 channel head like the THX100HD? Having the foot pedal and the ability to push 2 cabinets would be awesome.

The older models are discontinued, the new one has all the models in 1.

That's what I'm hoping also. I want the 100h but I don't think it has the same gain channels as those does??

How does this compare to the BOSS Katana 50? I love this Yamaha flexibility. The phone app and modern tones have me interested for sure.
