There's always outliers. some people slay no matter what game or guns you give them, c'mon we all have that one ultra sweat mate
Fr. Personally I don’t run dexterity or targeting mods most of the time. Just unflinching but I do use them for specific weapons like HCs or pulses
Yeh you can have success without them mods, but you will always be better with them on
As a warlock main who runs ophidians I don't bother with dexterity mods
The vid is addressing pvp targeting and flinch mods
@@KPac1234 no shit. Do you even know what ophidians aspect does?
@@jasonsepulveda1371 oh I just read it gives you aiming and flinch my bad
@@KPac1234 it's ok. Not everyone plays all the classes to know what each exotic does.
@@jasonsepulveda1371 I zoned out some when he talked about the helmet and assumed the short was about the helmet and chest mods
As a general rule of thumb this is great advice, but for more intermediate advice I'd say doubling up depends on my secondary weapon/special, I don't need unflinching or targeting for a buckshot shotty but a sniper obviously I would, fusions I go targeting no unflinching, double primary I double up but may not use dexterity depending on the combo so I may grab a loader for one, dex for the other, I think this is automatic now but I use holster mods for my backup weapon/special so I don't have to swap to it to reload it
Targeting increases ads speed so it’s definitely worthwhile on a shotgun (the aim assist also helps with one hit consistency)
@keithgil1042 i know it's good for them, I just don't tend to use the slot when running a shotty, I'd rather like an in flight compensator
Spirit of the Ophidian on the exotic class items is a godsend and make dexterity mods obsolete. Loader mods make guns feel that much faster and snappy, especially for perks like kill clip.
I typically just forget, but it doesn't really matter since I go flawless regardless. most of these mods are fairly minor increases that are only truly helpful in the most niche of cases. most of my builds revolve around one-shot combos of some variety, so having a flinch mod doesn't do much
Streamers forget this...
I feel like the omega sweats always change mods.
I forget most of the time and I swear I look like a bot most of the time.
But I'm the same. I go flawless every weekend.
Yeah most of the mods are about +5 in that stat which is pretty tough to notice, it's half a masterwork and I doubt most casual players notice those much.
When we have people with cronus and titans and all these other things, mods are what makes someone bad? Seems dumb to me.
@@Super503Dankbecause most legit pvp players use in game mods for slight advantage. As know slight difference can give edge in a gun fight. Thats why easy see who bad at pvp.
Bad Take Because Even Without These Mods I'm Murdering People Going Flawless, On Cayde
Exactly just more stupid B's from streamers telling you how to play the game. Like it's literally a video game let people play they want to play and build how they wanna build.
@@GutsTheCaptainspoken like a true bot that doesn’t know how to build his character
Not really a bad take. Sure you don’t need the mods, but they do help. It’s a good habit to have for crucible.
You capitalize the first letter of every word. Your opinion is invalid.
@@GutsTheCaptainit’s not bad take but most that are find this offensive. Why cause are using pve mods in pvp? Lol
Or, you can not play pvp because you want to enjoy your time.
All kinetic targeting and unflinching but my shotguns element for dexterity
It depends on the gun, personally I wouldn’t use targeting and unflinching kinetic when I use dmt for example, but do what you feel is comfortable for you
Why not put it for your secondary then? It's just helpful to have the free extra stats
You are bad at pvp then
Is there a reason not to? I doubt you’re saving you’re saving your chest mod slots for a shotgun in your energy slot, and even if it’s like a sniper, you still have diminishing returns for stacking so I would do one for each. It’s just a free advantage that everyone does and it makes no sense to not do it
Restarted take
But I’ve been flawless without mods and a pve build. So your saying with these mods I will be better ?
The weapon actually does matter 100%, if you can tailor mods for a better overall build by forgoing a weapon mod for your max stat gun, that's the smarter option. Targeting mods give 5/8/10 aim assist to the weapon so theres optimization to consider there as well, you could be wasting a mod slot.
theyre better for the ads multiplier rather than the aim assist
@@achannel4289 but again the weapon matters, for instance if you have snapshot and high handling the benefits there are negligible. Obviously you shouldn't forego benefits for no reason no matter how small, when it comes to optimizing. But if your overall build would benefit in pvp from mods that give back super energy or create orbs, at the cost of room for a weapon mod you dont practically need, that's the way to go imo.
The aim assist bump is only going to take effect if you go over the next tier, assuming base workings of weapon stats havent changed since last year... so if you have 64 AA and one targeting mod brings that to 69, you won't get any additional AA. Two mods gives 8 instead of 5, so if you had 63 AA you'll get the next tier of aim assist, but you only really need the two because the additional points from a third targeting mod won't do anything for AA, and the ads multiplier shouldn't be necessary as I understand it doesn't stack or is also diminished.
It depends on the build. I'm not applying targeting mods if my gameplan is to get super quickly through ability usage but I'm going to use targeting mods I'd my gameplan is to win gunfights.
This won’t age well when people find out how OP the new pvp mods are.
Yeah Im probly a black sheep here but I run 2 targeting for whatever primary and 1 for my special def at least 1 dex for primary (or whatever the lower handling gun is) and 3 unflinching for my primary. Finally 1 loader for my special so I never have to worry about swaping to my shotty or whatever and having a blank loaded lol😂
Me rocking my GM build in iron banner, knowing damn well I'll still be outperforming most players in the lobby
“Heavy ammo finder”
they’re such game changers in the feel of the gun. taking off my triple solar targeting for red death feels like i’m lifting a truck to ads
Bro i played this game for two years without using mods… pvp became so much easier after i learned about them
Is the new in-flight compensator mod worth it over a targeting mod if you like to take jump shots?
I always use lucky pants and a hand cannon, so I'm not worried about whatever my hand cannons element is, so I can double down on my paired dexterity or I can go for a reload instead.
As a PC Player the only Mod i use is quicker reload 😅
Just got back in after 3 years off and I completely forgot about this… thank you
For the head and chest, 100%. For arms, it's build dependent.
having to always change this feels so annoying. night and day difference without the mods.
don’t even get me started on recovery
Someone out there just looked at their orb/ability mods and sighed.
i remember going from raiding to pvp and forgetting to set my mods and still dominating lobbies 😂 happens too often cuz i dont have a pvp loadout
There are an insane amount of people that dont use mods in general
Triple solar targeting for lunas howl on roller w conditional finality is like ez mode
i didnt even use a single armor mod until lightfall came out because i couldn't be bothered and i did fine. but now i do great ill admit
Unflinching is a must
Are we forgetting the icarus helm mod that is a must have for HCs
Please explain. i love HCs but unsure what youre talking about.
This game would be better if they just removed pvp
Hard agree
I'm going to try this, I've done great to okay in pvp without them but I wanna see if this will help me honestly
As I got better and more experienced I learned that the mods matter more and more especially for the guns you use or the build
Lol the short i needed to see.
I am an ultra casual PVPer, Jotunn etc, but even I use them for my primary.
I only started using mods this season.... I never needed them to get mountaintop in the past. I dont need them now
I don't know if its different between trials/comp and other pvp modes, but i had on weapons that i never use because I'm just messing around with friends and i was top of the leaderboard for 4 hours straight in iron banner
FFS THANK YOU . I never know what to put on this was a huge help
I hate when people just dont use the mods that make your guns better for free
“Yeah you have to use these mods …and bring two other really awesome players or you’re a bad player”
I play to have fun, not sweat and complain.
I only put targeting and unflinching mods for my primary and dexterity mods if I run my someday shotgun with low handling don’t run it with my retold take because it has QuickDraw/Snapshot with my class armor having Ophidian aspect
Brother I’m jumping into PvP with my PvE build and am still going to have a blast. Use what you want
No way you had fun though, no way.
But then you'll complain you're bad at pvp and how you get outgunned by everyone. Even though you purposely handicapped yourself to prove a point, I guess?
@@kenpachi2607 nope. Bc I’m not so hyperfixed on the best the best the best. I like what I use and don’t care if it’s PvP or PvE. It’s about my experience right? And I’m saying I’m having fun. That’s all that matters
@@MassFusionn you right. Can't argue that
@@MassFusionnyou “having fun” using shit weapons throws the match for your team and causes everyone else to not have fun congrats you’re an ahole
as a hardcore casual pve object enjoyer. I never even touch those. Yes I’m bottom fragging 100% of the time in pvp. I’m just there to boost everyone’s morale. Except shaxx. He hates me. And salad boy
I kinda dont understand point elemental differences of mods. It should be kinetic/special targetting/reload/unflinch mods back again.
In the case of Conditional Finality, I believe Solar Mods can also effect it, meaning you could just stack solar mods for both Conditional and your energy weapon and it all works.
@xKquickx some solar mods effect it when you have the second shot but as for regular use in pvv stuff like dexterity and unflinching and target won't really have an effect since you always get 1 shot and that is stasis it's pointless to use both unless you're using a solar weapon with Conditional
Damn this short seemed to get a lot of people mad 😂
I put whatever I have on. I hate pvp and only play it when I need to complete path finder.
I never have those mods on but i am bad at pvp ...it make sense lol😂😂😂
I’m just too lazy for all that ngl
The amount of people iv told this and they just laugh at me is crazy dude.
I don't play pvp, but i use those mods for my heavy
Only chads use Font of wisdom + stacks on stacks + reaper
With so much aim assist you need to max it out at all times or it feels like you can’t hit a headshot. The flinch and dexterity mods make it so you can actually get into gun fights and move around the map consistently. Thats why people like recoil perks in PvP and dmg perks in pve. Its all about consistency
Nahh i prefer triple Concussive Resistances. Double Heavy ammo finders and double grenade kickstarts for pvp tbh
I only jump into pvp to get what i need,i just dont give a shit enough to care about going in there stacked
PvP in general needs more pvp focused mods, the current choices are basically required and not interesting at all. Also why cant we get a nice UI sub screen (hover over)? Ex: you hover over melee resist and after say 2-3 seconds a small window pops up with the exact % resist one mode would net you. Same with surge mods. We need better in game descriptors.
Man looking at this game coming from SHADOWKEEP it looks like I'll need a college course to learn. Sad.
These aren't mandatory for good players, and bad players shouldn't rely on mods like these to understand recoil, flinch, and how to aim. Play time, is how you get better.
Why not use all the tools you have
If I was playing something like trials or or competitive u can understand the mods but for control I don’t need mods
Nah, some people put them on and they are trash anyways.
its like telling adult how to buy groceries omg
I kinda can tell u a bad pvp player just by knowing you like d2 pvp
I'm playing crucible and trials however tf I want to play it I don't need anyone telling me how I should play or what to wear. I have seen people get wrecked by others that don't have mods on.
That's me! I am the bad pvper!
I pvp so much I leave those mods on during raids and gm’s
I don't fuck with it unless I'm actually going to try to get sweaty in Trials. I generally just don't care and go into 6s for fun.
I tend to not put mods on to give myself a handicap. Mods make it too easy. I’ll have mods that match other weapons 😂 I know I look like a bot when people check my stats but then I get it in on them.
😂 I forget that’s part of the game
Tbh part of why i hate destiny today is the community. Personally i hate the idea of using a build that i looked up or was told to use. I literally just use stuff thst i like and the community will literally spit on you for it. As a warlock if im not running health turrets and/or well of radiance i literally get kicked or told that i have to switch or get kicked. Sorry that i prefer to use all the op aoe damage instead of popping a super and standing in one spot for almost the entirety of the time I play. Or stuff like this realistically you could win with any build but not having a specific build will get you kicked. Honestly probably one of the worst gaming communities iv ever seen
you gotta learn to structure your thoughts a little better, little brother
Just so you know brother, that well of radiance ain’t so necessary for raids no more. And getting kicked for not using the speakers helmet? Fuck that, I don’t even have that helmet nor would I want it over my god roll exotic class item. You should hmu if you wanna do some stuff with people who will just teach and not try to make your character into mine and tell you exactly what you need to use, I’ll give you pointers and say hey this gun might be good here, other than that it’s your game play to your own hearts content
Also, if you don’t wanna use healing turrets, get a good roll on the healing auto rifle from this season. Or don’t, like I said I respect not copping out automatically into a support warlock like everyone wants
Hell nah run stasis turrents and wither hoard best way to play is to push em in a corner
I could go on for days how superficial the destiny community has become....and it's getting worse with things like "guardian rank" becoming a thing.
On a player level this is more of a personal take. Why? Simple.
Not every player needs these mods. I go flawless plenty of times without using mods that involves flinching or aiming. Second, if you rely on mods or exotics for too long, they become a crutch.
Theres a differencs between someone who is a good player vs a skilled player. A skilled player can use any weapon or mods and still be good. They dont need any powerful equipment to get what the win.
Im so lazy,
i should optimize all my mods in pvp or make a dedicated load out, but if your nasty...
your nasty.
Its always seemed very try hard and meta to me.
Guilty as charged! 😂
Just learned something.
It's not that I'm bad I just cba
Not bad just not wanting to carry two builds of armor and weapons for pvp and pve. Changing for pvp is annoying when you only play Casually...
I just wing it and do alright anyways
Im not using those mods just to get spam crouched when im playin pvp. I play the same with and without the mods, i feel no difference in the gameplay
😂 I don't even use these and still cook just dropped a 44 in iron banner 🎉😂❤
I just can’t be bothered to swap my mods around with how much I swap weapons. I like to play with a lot of variety and using one set of guns just isn’t fun.
I've been flawless many times without using any mods 😂
unless you got aim or a shotgun
I dont use mods. I just have fun and call it a day
Good tip man
100% do unless i swap guns mid fight . No point swapping targeting mods if i can't even see my gun at all
I always thought those mods didn’t help as much when I put them on maybe I need to throw them on again
I don't think the average player notices them because they don't play this game 24/7 like streamers do
@@Diiv_Tiid I’m like a below average pvp player but I’m pretty good everywhere else tho. I used to be great a destiny pvp 1 and 2 I took a break and my skills went away and I’m been trash since I came back
@@Diiv_Tiid I can’t even play trial cause I can’t compete not even a lil bit
It definitely does help, faster aim down sight speeds, swap speeds and reduced flinch might not be super noticeable, but it definitely helps and could be the difference between who gets the first shot off first, or how fast you get your shotgun out to defend against a rusher, every little bit helps. Holsters also are good to auto reload your special weapons
@@BuffGenji appreciate the advise 🔥
How about we make it simpler and just have primary and special mods instead of all the different types for pvp because if I want to switch it up I have to change 4 mods
How do you get enough upgrade modules to get all your gear to 2000?
Banshee-44 or Ada-1 it cost 1 enhancement core and 5000 glimmer
No, I’m a Don’t care about PvP player lol. If I’m in that playlist, it’s to get the reward. There’s nothing less fun to me than destiny PvP
I’m bad even with this stuff on.
Doesnt really change much since the changes are so small
can't be bothered to change mods every time i change guns
Loadouts: …
@@BombStars same amount of clicks, and its not like i have 12 loadouts only for dexterity, acquisition and unflinching for each element
@@leekyz I would assume you would have a load out for all the guns you use for pvp with their respective mods already in mind. The initial setup isn’t really that time consuming unless you, for whatever reason, rotate in and out of your guns periodically-and they just so happen to have a different affinity than the loadouts you made prior.
Why waste your time when you can slay out without them just fine
Damage resist mods vs unflinching mods on the breastplate?
I always have mods on regardless I thought I was way better in PvP in destiny where we didn't have them
I always put these on and am still a bad player. The outlier strikes again
Im bad, I use the mods
Same
Me destroying 6's with a pve bow setup cuz im forced to play pvp for pathfinder. This shit wont help if you are terrible. Meta is the only problem crucible faces. If people didnt care so much about being "optimized" it wouldnt be the most annoying tedious thing known to man
I set my
Mods and leave them. I’m old and lazy lmao!!
PVP on Destiny on P2P. If your mostly a free to play player like me because I refuse to pay outrageous amounts of money into an old game that I already paid for you have 0 chance against anyone who stupidly spends money like these guys. If your level 6 your basically fked ! No strand, no prismatic forget about it lol.
That's why I miss the old days when we didn't need mods to play so I don't agree with this or whoever said that.
