when I got the message yesterday and pulled off the road I unfortunately discovered that it was still running. (been hoping to blow it up for a while now) Had just changed the mass flow sensor and put in a new air filter and it seemed to be running well. A few days before it stalled a couple of times when at stop lights. Before the mishap yesterday it was idling like crap when waiting for a light but didn't stall. Okay.... so I was 8 miles from a decent sized town and 80 miles from home base so I drove the thing to the nearest town at speeds up to 40mph and went to a parts store to get a recommendation for a garage.... when I started the car up it reset and had the best power its had in years! Crap! Got to the service place and they put the computer on it (of course he checked the dipstick first) and said the codes read exhaust sensor or this or that or whatever..... but after a brief conversation I asked, "if you were me.... would you try to drive this thing 80 miles?" He responded, "why not." So I drove it on the side roads of Minnesota back home and it operated the best it has for a long time.. I have hated this car since the first time I added oil to it at 35K.... Now at 171K I drive it 300-400 miles - add a quart - drive - add oil - buy another sensor - add oil - clean the PCV (found a video on youtube that shows where to drill a hole in your exhaust manifold to easily clean the stupid hole) have blown out the rear engine seal and have done a timing chain. Just put new tires on this POS 8k ago so every dime I put in this thing feels like its last... Today I'll try something new but from now on when I leave town its in the Lexus. My wife said the other day, "we should get another one because at least we know what the problems are going to be" ..... my advice - buy the Lexus!!!
Is this a diesel? If it is, look up Dieseling. If it is a gas engine, does it have a lot of miles? Carbon buildup in the cylinders can cause this issue.
Would limp mode cause cylinder 3 to misfire? I have a p303 code. I replaced the coils and plugs. I got spark but it seems like I'm not getting any gas to cylinder 3. Is there anyway to fix this without changing the fuel injectors?
I have a 2018 equinox diesel, while driving this code pops up then goes away in a second or so does not stay on and power doesn't seem to be reduced speed stays the same and power stays the same runs perfect! Any idea what it could be?
I have a 2018 but not a diesel. It does the same thing. I got my throttle body cleaned by chevy but light still comes on. They want me to pay 120 for official diagnosis. I'm going to take it to autozbone first in the morning. I'm going to take battery cable off to reset system. Fingers crossed I didn't know eqinox had a diesel version🤔 Check air filter first
@@marvinhill4565 sucks i got the check engine light at 8k the throttle body neck came out of place for no reason then check engine light again at 27k miles radiator needed to be changed now at 29k miles n i just cleared the code n dont feel like dealing with it i will see at my next oil change this shit is a headache
@@ironPatriots48 *I cleaned out the throttle body and the butterfly door to it really good and hit the maf sensor with maf sensor cleaner I cleaned out the whole intake piping and replaced the filter and boom fixed the problem*

My wife has a 2017 Equinox. Almost 3 years ago it started going into power reduced mode. I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, throttle body, several sensors, and all of the coils. Every time I replace a part it goes away and starts working again for between 2 and 6 months and then goes back into reduced power mode with the same code. I've taken it into shops and they have fixed stuff and a few months later it starts again. Run an obd2 scanner and it always comes back as the same code that just says the engine is misfiring.
Mine consumes too much oil and is idling too low.

Bought an Equinox 7/27. 7/31 this happened 😡. Back to the dealership I went!!! I need this fixed and a rental. Thanks Chevy Dealers.

I got a oil change at the chevy dealership and the light is off now , oil was a bit dirty I guess . Seems fine now
I got that error when I started using E-85 gas, then I went back to the regular stuff and no problems.

You shouldn’t have any water in the throttle body. You can have oil and carbon build up.
I have a 2014 Equionx when i turn the key off the engine still runing for like 3 to 4 second and it turn off itself, what you think the problem is?

It's the other way a misfire can cause limp mode. It will need to be tested but if the injector is bad it will need to be replaced.

Wow my is 160,000 miles and it's code are saying throttle . Reduced engine. Sucks I still owe 20,000 and it's a 2022

Have you gotten your timing chain checked?
Turn eco mode off
