Most, if not all of his information is incorrect. The tiers go L, LS, LT and then Premier. LT is not a 'below base model' He also stated this car goes for 33k. Even new, LT model was between 25k-28k. Really needs to do his research before he makes statements that can be picked apart. Also, that oil? Yeah, it's 'dark' but not nearly as black as he suggests. Notice the lack of a close-up view. It is ENTIRELY possible, that sticker was not replaced or the oil was not changed last at that service provider. Also, that warranty information is wrong,. The Bumper to Bumper is 36k, the Powertrain is 5 years, 60k. Dude's selling himself as knowing something, but does not know anything.
I bought a 2019 Equinox a few months ago and I love it. It's easy to drive, has a comfortable ride and great gas mileage. I'm 73 years old and have no trouble opening and closing the rear hatch. This guy must be some kind of weakling.
@Juice 999 Yes and what's up with these reviewers, reviewing a base model, with lots of hard plastics, and complaining about hard plastics. Like they just want to rag on something.
@Juice 999 We liked how our 2012 Orlando drove. 28mpg hwy was best it did, even though book says 32. We have the piston rebuild(doesn't lose oil now) under recall, our car only had 80k on it and a common tranny problem with a poorly designed washer, destroyed the tranny which my wife got rebuilt for 4300. Mech said they have a better washer that he put in it( that should be a frickin recall, i would say!). Thanks GM! So we are looking for a newer SUV that takes the 2.4, that has a bad engine or tranny for cheap and putting her engine/tranny into it. Worth it, to get it all done for hopefully 5 grand. Update:. No Chevy dealer will take our 2.4/tranny and put in in some equinox or GMC terrain, etc. We can't find a good condition donor car, so we are parting ways with GM products. Going for 3500 towing. Toyota Rav4 v6 2009-12, Toyota Venza v6, Outback v6, Hyundai Santa Fe v6 and we found a 2010 VW Touareg v6 tdi for 7500 dollars with 30mpg hwy. It could be a money pit but for 7500, we may roll the dice. I asked my wife, are you willing to lose that money, if it has issues. It's like a Porsche SUV, really nice interior. 6cyl 220 hp/ 406 torque..lol We don't want timing chain and non standard auto tranny, no CVT or timing belts..lol in the cars we are looking for. Cheers and insane car adventures. We don't want to spend more than 15 grand and want at least 3500 towing.
Haaaaaa Haaa THANK U for clearing that up. I have stopped people driving it to inquire about it and everyone LOVES IT! I'm definitely going to buy one!
@@ms.fortune2957 I wouldn't get a GM product in the future or any American auto. We are going for a Japanese or Korean car. Our 2012 Chevy Orlando destroyed it's 6sp auto because of a defective washer. Only 86k miles and this is not acceptable! We had it rebuild for 4700 dollars and the tranny guy said that this was a common issue..lol. WTH! Also, the plastic was so cheap to replace taillight bulbs that the covers for the screws started braking. We had excessive oil consumption that we proved had to be fixed after letter from GM who is getting sued in multiple class action lawsuits! Their prices are not low enough to justify this defective engineering. The Orlando is very similar to and Equinox, so do research please.
Dude don't have a clue as to what he is talking about 🤣 The LT is not the base model and why is he picking apart a rental as we all know how they are drivin
My friend bought one and I seriously had to bite my tongue to not say, "What the fuck is actually wrong with you?" Though he might have bought a Traverse, but I'm pretty sure they're similarly garbage.
I'm halfway through and it seems he's just complaining about rental cars. Thought he was going to eventually get to the car.. from what you say it looks like he never gets to it lol
I agree are 2019 equinox never had a problem, if he focuses on the engine and drivetrain he won't have anything bad to say. So he talks about some insignificant problems that wouldn't bother me. Why doesn't he talk about an average mileage of 35 MPG, we love it.
Give it up Elliot, this review was a major fail on so many levels that it's actually quite comical. Somebody once said that it's better to keep one's mouth shut and thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt. This was one of those times. I would suggest that you pull your review here to save yourself further embarrassment.
Lol, You know you can’t trust any salesman that asks you to subscribe before you have seen product or material to determine whether or not you’d approve it, like it, or let alone SUBSCRIBE to it.
@Robert matheny really? I paid 16,900 for mine with the turbo assist motor and LOVE it. I'm 64 and bought many new cars over my life. Do you know even though I have 15k on the car mileage people are offering to buy it for several thousand dollars over what I paid for it new! Best affordable car with pretty good comfort, good response in the motor for passing and a 10 YEAR WARRANTY on the motor. Won't be sorry... I LOVE this car.
I have a 2018 LT and drive it all over the Northeast - it gets terrific mileage, it’s comfortable and I never had any issues with 35K miles - One of the best values for this sized car. This kid hasn’t a clue.
I agree. I have a '14 LT with the 2.4L FlexFuel 4-cyl. 22-23 mpg on E-85 on trips. 28-30 mpg on E-10. Seems to be peppier on E-85. 128,000 miles with no problems.
I bought an Equinox (2.0L T) after a Subaru Outback 2015 model and in comparison Equinox is just on another level. A nice smooth powerful engine and a smooth 9 speed transmission compared to a noisy and gutless 2.5L naturally aspirated and a horrible CVT. There just isn't any comparison. Yes the interior is a bit cheap, but who cares. I'm loving it!
He did I love my LT and this is coming from a guy who owns a 2019 A35 mercedes Benz amg and a 2011 w204 c350 4 matic all great cars but my 18 equinox LT just hits different and I drive it like I drive my s550 in Florida lmao
I have a 2018 Equinox LS and I have it for almost 3 years now and I love my Equinox it's the first American car I buy and I don't regret it. She runs great, great gas millage and the oil change is every 7000 miles or 1 year she tells you how much time left you have before oil change it goes by percentage. This guy doesn't know shit about these cars.
@MR Rhymeguy my 06 Chevy equinox is my first car and even I had to do a head gasket job after 5 months of driving it in 2020 bc I got my license in sept and oct 31,2020 is when I drove it last in 2020 got the head gasket done in 3 months
@MR Rhymeguy same, my equinox is nice but have you had any weird noises or transmission issues? My trans works fine but usually shifts hard on the first shift and sometimes gear hunts or slips, but is usually fine.
I have owned 3 different Chevy Equinox, going up in style each time. I currently have an Equinox PREMIER and I love it. It has many great options on it that are so comforting. Its red, has great mileage, drive assist stay in the lane or the seat vibrates. The automatic all around cameras are great. The seats are cooled and heated leather. Automatic climate control front and rear. Includes an automatic lift gate, plenty of room for a wheel chair in the back. The equinox also has an ac power plug in the rear seat ......and much more this car in the levels I have purchased are totaly worth it. this guy is clueless
Got a used loaded premier 2018 and love it. After a few years thinking about getting another one for the wife. She's always pestering to drive it instead of her Buick lacrosse. Love that surround camera when parking.
The new and older generation both are horrible especially the previous had numerous and countless repairs countless engine failures Even my camera 07 has better built material than that even a Ford focus looks miles better than this jesus!!!!!! GM what the hell u doin
all you are talking about are FEATURES. Because you are a woman, and therefore..an idiot. The car has a badly made transmission, and poorly desgined engine that is hugely failure prone
They are so great to drive but it i wasn't a backyard mechanic I wouldn't do it again! But I love mine even though it's old! My moto is all cats have problems after 5 to 7 years! You just hope you get one that people took care of! People can ruin great cars! Point blank! You got to maintain them!
I bought a 2020 with sport package and midnight package with 19 inch black wheels and leather interior and dual climate control with the confidence and convenient package last weekend for under $26000. And I love it. Never thought I would buy an Equinox because my first experience was in a rental and me and my wife hated it. But the one I purchased with the bigger wheels and the exterior and interior upgrades made it look and feel like luxury. It rides so much smoother then the rental and handles better with the wider tires. I think the rental was a low model because the back windows weren’t even tinted. I wanted something different but semi luxury for a good price. Was about to buy a use car but I’m glad I decided to go new especially for the price couldn’t beat it.
I bought an Equinox for my wife. It's not the rental fleet trim. It's an excellent car.. Great sound system, super stiff chassis, and Rock solid reliability. Also seemless Bluetooth and phone connectivity. Only the Ford Escape came close to what Chevy offered for the options. Toyota, Honda, Subaru wanted way more for the options Chevy gives. We don't have this base model.
I'm doing 106k miles and it's still acting like a brand new car. Mind you, I bought it at 45k from a rental car company. HERTZ! Tho: no mechanic touches this car but me and the dealer. All this ass wife's complains are petty. He is a spoiled child that's only ever driven luxury sport cars.
The LT is actually the top model before the Premier or Premium. Its the top model because it has the volume and cruise settings on the steering wheel, it has the alloy spoke wheels and not steel wheels with hub caps, hexagon seats with yellow stitching and some other stuff I dont know about. Just sayin' 🤷..
The new and older generation both are horrible especially the previous had numerous and countless repairs countless engine failures Even my camera 07 has better built material than that even a Ford focus looks miles better than this jesus!!!!!! GM what the hell u doin
@@samuelgonzalez1891 whether or not you may have some, or all of the same options this LT trim example has, LT has always been above LS, on any Chevrolet Vehicle. The LS could only get the 1.5 Turbo, whereas the LT can be had with the 1.5L Turbo, a 2.0 Turbo, or a 1.6L diesel. So that may very well be the only difference, compared to a highly optioned LS. It can be confusing, cause in more recent times almost any standard model vehicle can be had/made to have more options and features than a higher trim level example that didn’t have any options or features added to it. Does that make any sense? Lol
The new and older generation both are horrible especially the previous had numerous and countless repairs countless engine failures Even my camera 07 has better built material than that even a Ford focus looks miles better than this jesus!!!!!! GM what the hell u doin
@@ElliottAlvis might wanna check that facst bud, LT trim level is an LT trim level regardless rental or not. I've been with Chevrolet for about 5 years and never heard of rental spec LT.
@@ElliottAlvis Wrong. A rental company's LT is the same exact car as a regular LT. If they want a "lesser" car, they just order a lesser trim, like an LS.
I own a new 2020 Equinox LT blacked out edition and I can tell you this,,,,for the money it’s a great car. No complaints from me. Any plain Jane base model car sucks in my opinion. But entertaining to watch lol.
Thank you for being a good sport about this! Part of making an entertaining video is taking a hard stance and sticking with it. It’s a fine car, this one in particular wasn’t lol. Thanks for watching!
@@ElliottAlvis Then you shouldn't base a "lemon rental" which apparently you got. And doesn't surprise me no less. On the "WHOLE" of the vehicle all around. Because KBB, Edmunds, and others, wouldn't have listed this number 6 in compact SUV's. Much less it also got PERFECT reliability scores.
Yeah we own the 2018 premier model blacked out. Doesn't have a scratch on it. Its fully loaded and is a smooth ride. It is a bit underpowered but its a great family vehicle
Crappy review! I purchased a used 2013 Equinox, and I love it! It has upgraded equipment and it suits me just fine! This guy needs to review turnips, not cars!
If you’re purchasing any equinox, you do not have the right to tell any level of automotive journalist how to do their job. These are famously terrible vehicles.
They all have a damn turbo the reason I walked away. Don't need something to go wrong that I can avoid by buying something else. Screw your goddamn turbo stick it.
I have a 2018 Equinox LT, it's going on 4 years old and done nothing but the routine maintenance on it, it's very easy to get in and out of , I test dove just about every med sized suv available at the time and liked this one the best!!,,,it has the comfort and convenience package which in my opinion is a must!! comfortable seats, average 26 mpg, and it has a very quiet ride!!
I have a 2019 and its a great car. Dude, what a throw away review. seriously? The finish on mine is great! Are you reviewing the car or what someone did to it. What a tool.
Have had my Equinox LT, 2wd for two years and love it. $22,300. The seats feel fine. The dash of every newer car is made of plastic. I'm not an old lady so the prop rod for the hood and no power lift gate are not even close to being a problem.
I've had my 2019 Equinox LT for a little over a year and yes it was a rental previously. The seats in my car are cloth and extremely comfortable, even my 12 yr. old grandson commented on how comfy his seat was. Haven't had any problems with this car yet and it drives fine. The radio/phone/info system is so easy to use but I don't like the touch screen. I don't like the cheap plastic parts either or the mechanism to move the front passenger seat. It sticks out too far. Well I am an older lady and although I can open & close the back hatch I find it bulky and awkward so....I do plan on trading this car in as soon as prices relax a bit. It's just a bit bigger than I want or need. Our friends have the premier and love it.
It's a real shame that you're not able to open and close a hatchback without power assist. Why should I pay for a feature that I'm able to perform myself. That's why cars cost so much these days.
Agreed, that is a shame. Also a shame is how much force is required to close the damn thing. My old Kia Soul was manually operated and it was sooooooo much easier, you could close the thing with a single finger almost. Good luck closing this with anything fragile in your hands.
Bought 1 today!(Does have 100,000 warranty) I'm picky about cars.I looked at about 1,000 cars since January..finally found one with everything I want &I Love it! Panoramic sunroof, leather heated seats, all blacked out midnight edition, great on gas, button to shut hatch, start car from my app on phone or key fob, bright interior lights, mirror lights that adjust to day or night time, ranked high for safety & reliability, and within my budget. I never thought I'd find the perfect car for me & my family..thankfully after months of searching & let downs..I did:) drove 2 hours to a dealership..ride home was smooth. Alerts me when I'm out of my lane, too close to the car ahead of me,shuts off when stopped to conserve on gas,& alerts me when a cars next to me in case of a blind spot. And air bags in the back. Paid $27,000 out the door. Has 44,000 miles and is a 2020. I'm a car person & had many..this is definitely top 3 favorite With my Cadillac Escalade ESV that I bought that was 1 year old,my Jeep, & Denali truck. Great for a family or someone single.
I absolutely LOVE the equinox I wish the 2.0L would be the lowest trim then a V6 for a higher end . The 1.5 can get up and go but for a great and nice car having that little extra power is always great to have.
I’m on my third Equinox and I had NO issues with any of them!! One of the best car in Canada for our winter season. Ne need to heat the car and always starts with issue. Honestly this video should have stayed in the draft!
@@ElliottAlvis I can tell you haven't reviewed many rental cars before. Have you seen the rental ford's or frickin rental Nissan's and kias?? They make the equinox feel like a range rover
I’m a field service tech for a manufacturing equipment company, so I do a lot of windshield time. I have a 2018 Equinox in essentially the same trim level, except I have the non-turbo V6. I’ve put more than 100k on it. Maintaining it has cost virtually nothing. I’ve put tires on it, that’s it. I live in southeast Texas, where acceleration and AC matter a great deal, and it’s been fantastic. The interior holds up well to the dirt and grease of my job. The apple car play integration and phone support are great. The suspension is smooth and comfortable. In short, I like it a lot. In fact, you’ve savaged it for a lot of the things I like about it. It doesn’t have a bunch of overpriced bells and whistles to break, it’s been durable, reliable, stayed clean, and kept me cool and comfortable over a lot of windshield time.
We just bought a used 2019 in the premier trim. My wife loves it so far. It’s great for what it is. Of coarse ours is by far better speced with more soft touch interior, leather heated and vented front and rear seats, panoramic roof, Bose sound, 360 camera, and other safety features, and my fave heated steering wheel.
Lmafo. A used Equinox with a tiny turbo engine. I couldn’t imagine that would last at all. Why did you want a turbo SUV? You should know that a turbo rams air into an engine causing it to wear out faster but I wouldn’t expect you to know that because you drive an equinox
@@spenceralmstrom5854 I didn’t mention Volvo at all. And don’t even go there on fords they have a rather hilarious amount of recalls on their smaller cars and SUVS. A 2014 Ford Edge came into the shop with a little over 100k and it needed a new engine, they’re crap
Hey man I had this car as a personal use company car and I liked it for the utility from someone whom has never owned anything but sedans. I was shocked by the high sticker price on this thing when I took delivery. Engine definitely wasn’t an enjoyable drive but fuel economy was awesome. I had the power lift gate and Apple car play was better than my Mercedes interface . One problem I had was the all wheel drive transaxle went out at 25k miles.
I think these are pretty decent for what they are and the size. I've been in one for the past month while my 2019 Jetta is getting the front assist fixed and ours is rental spec, pretty much same as this video and it's been great. The material's don't seem too cheap, has ambient lighting, all LED interior lightning, rear vents, power hatch, power seat, and aloooot of room for a small CUV. The turbo really holds between 3.5-5k rpms but other than that it is pretty slow. I'm thinking about trading out the Jetta for the 2.0T awd model. A 2019 used 2.0T is about $20k used. And idc about these missing the " advanced safety features " although the 2020s come with it standard. My Jetta has those " safety features " and they suck and constantly break. My front assist has gone out twice since June, and it costs $600 for an alignment bc they have to re calibrate all that crap. But honestly, for the price and size these are not bad. The standard warranty sucks tho. 3 years 36k miles Chevy is trippin 😂 their extended only goes to 60k too. So dumb.
I had this one as a rental while waiting on my wife’s vehicle to be repaired from an accident too. I think for a certain price this would be ok. But not in rental spec by any means lol.
250 horsepower and the same engine as the camaro, idk how people say this is slow? for a suv and a top speed of 130 with a limiter But than again if you have the 1.5 i understand
@cintnbuzun3258 well as I had mentioned the turbo holding between 1.5k-5k im obv talking about the 1.5t These also don't use the 3.6 anymore nor have they this gen at all, power option is their 2.0T awd models. We have a 2012 3.6 V6 Malibu that my gf dailys and it's alright, not fast by any means but decent for the year. It's 255hp 255lbs torque
I hate to interrupt the non-valid rant (not really). There is a button on the liftgate door that Automatically shuts it. Or, you can just use the ephod to close it, exactly how you open. The one thing I agree with is the crappy Warranty..😎
This was the most positive negative review I've seen. You said the car road fine, was quiet, good storage, had a good turning radius, and adequate acceleration - sounds like a decent motor to me. Second, you said the car only has a 3yr-36,000k Mile warranty and its standard to have more - Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota (and more), etc have the same bumper to bumper warranty. There are only a few (non-luxury) car manufactures that have a longer bumper to bumper warranty - Hyundai/Kia, Mitsubishi, and VW, so it’s not quite standard. As far as dings, scratches, swirls, and dimes in the dash vents - many people who rent cars abuse them. It’s no different than a public restroom. Lastly, what car in this segment doesn’t have cheap plastic in the interior? I’ve been/driven every SUV in this segment and they all feel cheap and have cheap plastics, with the exception of the CX-5.
You make a lot of good points here. I think the car drove fine and would serve it’s purpose for most people who would be in the market for one. I just found the interior to be exceptionally cheap, even compared to its rivals. The premiere trim level on the Equinox solves a lot of the issues I have with the platform. Thank you for the honest analysis of the video. I appreciate you watching.
I've been driving my 2019 equinox since 02/17/20 and have had zero issues and our family loves it. Great get up and go, wonderful space, the radio sounds great. The 2019 equinox is a great vehicle.
No it’s not. You couldn’t be more wrong. You are talking about a 1 year old car with 0 issues I would hope you don’t run into problems within just a YEAR!!!!! Trust me your family will hate that car as it gets older. You should go ahead and do some research about all the horrific problems these things have. I guarantee you have 0 idea what goes on with these vehicles
DeltaHotel I don’t need to own a vehicle to know what problems they have that’s why you do research. Look what happened to the older equinox’s, engines and transmissions for days I would know because I worked at a mechanic shop. This is a 2019 model and GM is certainly not known for quality and yet you still stand your ground for these equinox’s, I don’t get it.
@@wydstepbro3566 I stand for GM because I've done work on pretty much every brand out there and GM has presented the least issues. Do a little research on Ford and Dodge and you'll see an almost 200% rise in issues on a regular and in repair costs in the lifetime of ford/dodge. That doesnt even consider all the other brands out there. Dont patronize me whilst knowing nothing.
I’ll be honest I’d be fine if he’s making these complaints on a higher trim of it such as a premier, but he shouldn’t be complaining about the stuff on a BASE MODEL. It is going to be cheap so it’s affordable for people.
its not even a base model lmfao its below base model, this review is horrible since most of his critiques are to that car specifically, like complaining about the paint and the oil. I agree with you 100%, i have a 2019 premier and its wonderful. And correct me if im wrong but i dont think any trim level below the premier has a turbo. Truly seems like hes talking out of his ass and just hates this car for no real reason.
Drove a 2019 Chevy Equinox for 3 years before I hit a tire in the road this year which totaled it. It was a great SUV. So great, in fact, that I replaced it with a 2023 Equinox.
You can get the LS trim of these for around 20k all day long at dealers around here. That's not bad for a vehicle this size with AEB, and lane keep assist.
I would agree with you, but these don’t have either of those features standard. This LT didn’t have them either. Even though I bet the non-rental spec might have.
@@ElliottAlvis the 2020s all come standard with advanced safety tech features. I'm not sure about rental spec models. Example (see safety tab on features) www.courtesygmbreauxbridge.com/VehicleDetails/new-2020-Chevrolet-Equinox-FWD_LS-Breaux_Bridge-LA/2GNAXHEV1L6274863
My wife has the 2018 LT 1.5 FWD and it's been a decent car. Yes, it's not a speed demon but on highway trips we get about 35-36 mpg which is good for a shoebox on wheels.
The LT1 for this year was like $27k on the lot (before incentives, which would have been substantial at the time) - makes me wonder if you've driven other $27k compact crossovers because they're pretty much all like this interior?
The base is a L @ 25k, LS @ $27k and the LT @ 28.5k and that is without rebates. I wouldn’t use any rental as a comparison if I was buying a car as they are all cheaply equipped and beaten on. Right now you can get a fully loaded top of the line AWD with the 2.0L engine for a tick over 33k with rebates.
So the Equinox is a bad car because this example is a low-spec rental that isn't maintained properly? Uh - ok. Interesting way to evaluate a car. Seems more like an evaluation of the rental company.
Bought a 2018 Equinox 2.0t LTZ , full leather, heated seats throughout, electric boot open/close and foot operated. It is pretty quick and a delight to buy. In NZ badged as Holden Equinox. 8000miles and 18000usd equiv. I'm very happy with this and it boogies. Perhaps test the 2.0 turbo higher spec.
Stuart Nightingale that’s awesome! This rental was a terrible spec. I’m sure a higher-tier model would solve most of the issues I had. Thanks for watching!
The title is misleading by far. This is NOT a review of the Chevy Equinox, this is the review of a specific Chevy Equinox in sub-par condition and with very shit features. I have a 2019 Chevy Equinox 2.0 with amazing features and it's way better than the one reviewed here. In short, it's not a bad car, you just happened to find the shittiest version of it and judge it in comparison to every other decent SUV. Hence the reason for the dislike ratio on the video.
I bought my 2019 chevy equinox on November 2018 when they first came out with the 2019 and its been 2 and half years with my car and I got the LT in between model and its the best smooth and great handling and amazing on gas and I haven't had any issues with it , so I disagree with your car review trash talking this GM model.

I rented a 2020 with 59k miles from Hertz this week. It was fine. It was the most vehicle, vehicle I could drive. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. It was adequate transportation to transport my family around Massachusetts for a week.
So he is giving his "opinion" on a base model car. His opinion sucks and what do you expect in a base model. The entire car market is moving to 4 cylinder engines in almost everything. I also love how he judges the car because it needs a detail lol.
Bought my Premiere model in 2019 with leather interior, adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel, etc. for $26k out the door back then. Almost all Chevy dealers had crazy incentives that year for employee discount pricing for customers. Have put 46k miles on it and still love it for camping, traveling, and as a daily driver. Just changed tires so ended up getting 46k on the stocks which is pretty crazy. My average MPG is 33 and that isn't too bad. Just appraised it for trade in and they'll give me $23,500 for it lol. So it's like I got a 4 year lease for $2500. Been a great car so far.
I have a 2020, I drove it for 4 years, haven't had too many issues except for a couple of flat tires. A MAF sensor that had to be cleaned because guys at Valvoline Instant Oil Change didn't secure the air cleaner all the way. Replaced a battery and a head lamp and had fender liners that came loose but I put them back in place. But I still think it's a reliable car. Although the dealer was bugging me about buying it back from me and trying to get me to upgrade, I just didn't want to give it up and I currently have 87,000+ miles with it. The only way to make a car last is taking care of it and use a little common sense.

Rough surface on the clear is most likely the industrial fallout, a standard decontamination and polish would get it super slick. I have a 2019 LT in Iridescent Pearl Tricoat and have had it for a year and a half. Paint has zero swirls marks or scratches and it's super super slick. It's all in the owners hands. If you take care of it, it'll take care of you.
The wife and I purchased our 2019 equinox brand-new, never had a problem, always had it serviced. The problems that you describe in your video, our problems we can live with. We don't have some of the problems that are happening to other vehicles. And as far is your opinion of the 1.5 with turbocharger, this little car has plenty of get up and go, never had a problem getting on the freeway are going uphill. Update 2,23,2023 I keep the 2019 equinox for myself. Purchase a 2023 Equinox for my wife. You see when there is a great product, negative reviews don't work.
I bought a 2018 Equanox with 11,000 mi. in 2018. At 100,000 mi. the only thing I replaced so far is the battery and tires. Traveled all the country with it and depend on it.
This needed the 3.6l v6. They also should’ve given more equipment to the fleet models. Sometimes the fleet models are sold at dealerships more that the non fleet model is worth. You explained the rest.
A 2.5L Naturally aspirated 4 cylinder with 200 HP would be a great solid engine. I had an 04 Lexus RX330 which came with a 3.3L V6 apart from infotainment center and it had more advanced features than this equinox powered everything, dual zone climate, and soft leather seats that are very comfortable. No touch screen but, has everything I wanted.
Elliott Alvis but I’m not mad though lol. I do think the title should say this though. “2019 Chevy equinox. This is why you skip it and buy a terrain instead” lol
Of course you love yours. You have to substantiate why you bought a crappy vehicle to make you feel better about buying it. Buyers remorse and all that.
This guy must work for ford because i have a 2019 and love it, great driving vehicle and very comfortable ride, or maybe hes just an idiot who wants to spend 70,000$ on a ford truck.
The interior seat material is actually easy to clean, these vehicles are small family haulers. You can get power liftgates for these, but most rental fleets are optioned pretty light. I see there isn't even the roof rails for the cargo carriers.
My 2016 Equinox has 105,000 miles on it and no major repairs needed yet! I drive an hour to work and back so sure it has little marks here and there but everything else is fine. The interior looks fantastic still, especially after I clean it. Lol. So yeah, these cars hold up well! My wife just got a 2020 so we'll see how that holds up.
I have a 2006 Chevy equinox other than the head gasket job I had to do on it I love it i love the space and this is my first car I got it from a pawn shop
Well, I bought a 2018 Equinox a few months ago, the only thing I really hate about it, is the auto-stop autostart feature, other than that I haven't had any issues considering it is a rebuilt title car that was rear-ended, no airbags blown and I got it for about 13k with only 48,000 miles in it. so there is always the option to buy it preowned.
@@33elmore you can put the gear shift in low & on top of the shifter go thru it's 6 gears if you have a 1.5 liter or it's 9 gears if you have the 2.0 liter you have to remember to go thru the gears, or you'll be in 1st. gear when you drive. I put a Post It on the console to remind me.
Hey Elmer, here's a tip for that aggravating "auto stop." After you start up, put the shifter into the "L" position, then use the "+" button and bring it to the highest gear (mine is "6"). Then, just drive as normal. The car will shift and downshift through all the gears and will never shut off. I discussed this remedy with the shop mananger at the Chevy dealership and he assured me that this method was fine and would not damage the power train and/or transmission whatsoever. Happy motoring! --Jim
I bought my wife an equinox in 2012 and it’s been a great car,we still have it. I bought her a Chrysler pasifica in 2019 and we like the equinox so much we kept it. Rental cars are treated very badly and have a lot of hard miles put in them.
Sounds like you know nothing about these cars good sir. You wouldn’t say that if you had any clue with what problems these have. What is there to love about them? They aren’t comfortable they ride like a washing machine they are slow and has pathetic quality control compared to its rivals. They’re BAD
It’s Really not that bad for the price. Yes, it has the I4 engine but I have a 2021 and it actually get up and goes almost just as well as my 2017 equinox with a V6 300 hp did. Also The plastic for the buttons isn’t “cheap”
For the price, it really is that bad. My 2015 V8 Supercab F-150 was less than this piece of shit new. Now it's 8 years old and it still feels nicer than the new Equinox I rented last week. There's absolutely no excuse to charge a penny over 25 grand for this trim level of this vehicle.
I thought he was going to have some legitimate complaints, but instead he sounds like a spoiled 4 year old .
What a waste of time.
You can say that again lmao
Agree
Agree 100% what a douch
I was thinking the same thing....
I bought a 2019 Equinox a few months ago and I love it. It's easy to drive, has a comfortable ride and great gas mileage. I'm 73 years old and have no trouble opening and closing the rear hatch. This guy must be some kind of weakling.
He is pretty scrawny..lol
@Juice 999
Yes and what's up with these reviewers, reviewing a base model, with lots of hard plastics, and complaining about hard plastics.
Like they just want to rag on something.
@Juice 999
We liked how our 2012 Orlando drove.
6cyl 220 hp/ 406 torque..lol
We don't want timing chain and non standard auto tranny, no CVT or timing belts..lol in the cars we are looking for.
Cheers and insane car adventures.
We don't want to spend more than 15 grand and want at least 3500 towing.
Haaaaaa Haaa THANK U for clearing that up. I have stopped people driving it to inquire about it and everyone LOVES IT! I'm definitely going to buy one!

I wouldn't get a GM product in the future or any American auto.

I agree are 2019 equinox never had a problem, if he focuses on the engine and drivetrain he won't have anything bad to say. So he talks about some insignificant problems that wouldn't bother me. Why doesn't he talk about an average mileage of 35 MPG, we love it.

@@samuelgonzalez1891 whether or not you may have some, or all of the same options this LT trim example has, LT has always been above LS, on any Chevrolet Vehicle. I had the power lift gate and Apple car play was better than my Mercedes interface . One problem I had was the all wheel drive transaxle went out at 25k miles.
Whom is an object pronoun.
This video cracks me up. I wouldn't judge a specific model based on an experience with a RENTAL CAR.
Also, you sound like a spoiled millennial.
Dss das as asias jh asadav
250 horsepower and the same engine as the camaro, idk how people say this is slow? for a suv and a top speed of 130 with a limiter
But than again if you have the 1.5 i understand
@cintnbuzun3258 well as I had mentioned the turbo holding between 1.5k-5k im obv talking about the 1.5t
These also don't use the 3.6 anymore nor have they this gen at all, power option is their 2.0T awd models. We have a 2012 3.6 V6 Malibu that my gf dailys and it's alright, not fast by any means but decent for the year. It's 255hp 255lbs torque
Lt is not the base model, you have issues with facts.
I hate Equinoxes, but this guy talking about scratches and he dings his wedding band on closing the hatch. Great job...

I hate to interrupt the non-valid rant (not really). There is a button on the liftgate door that Automatically shuts it. Or, you can just use the ephod to close it, exactly how you open. The one thing I agree with is the crappy Warranty..😎
The Equinox doesn't suck. You do.
@@wydstepbro3566 so what your saying is that you have either owned that specific vehicle longer than it's been out or you can see the future...
Or your just a troll starting shit with people just to get your rocks off... either way your a bit of a joke. Have a good night
They all feel like plastic piles of shit. Everyone in the comments defending it is old as fuck (retarded).
Need to correct yourself… LT is where the mid grade models start. LS is the base..
Drove a 2019 Chevy Equinox for 3 years before I hit a tire in the road this year which totaled it. It was a great SUV. So great, in fact, that I replaced it with a 2023 Equinox.
Up your game Elliott: Parachute in at the opening of each video.

Hopefully by then I’ll have the plane done and I can take you up for this. Although then you would in fact be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
I just bought a 2019 today. I LOVE IT!!! I have had a 2007 equinox since 2009 it has over 300k miles on it and still kicking.
Example (see safety tab on features)

I LOVE the Chevrolet Equinox!! Had 2 of them. Never gave me any problems!!
I own one. It’s a great car. Maybe your taste is more in line with a $100,000 or more car.
My wife has the 2018 LT 1.5 FWD and it's been a decent car. Yes, it's not a speed demon but on highway trips we get about 35-36 mpg which is good for a shoebox on wheels.
@@twincitiesdashcam9119 Is the car heavy? My 2004 volvo with around 350hp gets around 25mpg combined, highway prob would be around 30 lol.
@@jaskajokunen3716 I think the curb weight is about 3325lbs- not a very heavy vehicle.
Well, all rentals aren't poorly equipped. My 08 DTS had a ton of options for being a base and not a platinum.
Super Biased review... NOT accurate at ALL. The Equinox is a Great Selling SUV for a reason... Quality and Efficiency. This guy has an agenda.
So the Equinox is a bad car because this example is a low-spec rental that isn't maintained properly? Uh - ok. Interesting way to evaluate a car. Seems more like an evaluation of the rental company.
Change "the" to "this" on your title
That’s not a bad suggestion
Literally not reviewing a new . Just about how it was torn up
Bought a 2018 Equinox 2.0t LTZ , full leather, heated seats throughout, electric boot open/close and foot operated.
The chevy equinox is a bad suv but your complaints are from someone who drives high end vehicles and not the true issues with the car.
I have a 2018 Equinox. I love it. My car is a base model but not a former rental. I have a power lift gate.
My equinox looks just like that, I have the 2020 lt and I havent had any issues with mine

The car was only leased to 1 previous owner.

- Hope we received a good buy as I'm 30 years, US Navy, Retired and do not need to be screwed over. I don't need the extra headache.....lol.
- Final price after taxes (after $1,200 down) was $23,000.00 -

I rented a 2020 with 59k miles from Hertz this week. It was fine. It was the most vehicle, vehicle I could drive. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. It was adequate transportation to transport my family around Massachusetts for a week.

So he is giving his "opinion" on a base model car. His opinion sucks and what do you expect in a base model. The entire car market is moving to 4 cylinder engines in almost everything. I also love how he judges the car because it needs a detail lol.
I agree this guy is a 🤡
Oh my god, it's not a *rental* Ferrari!!! Sacrilege!!!
Stop lying. 23500 for trade in ? Yeah ok
The only way to make a car last is taking care of it and use a little common sense.
i’m still trying to figure out how on earth this guy somehow has 50k subscribers
My company has a fleet of these and I have used them from time to time they have been fine.

This needed the 3.6l v6. They also should’ve given more equipment to the fleet models. Sometimes the fleet models are sold at dealerships more that the non fleet model is worth. You explained the rest.
That 3.6 liter V6 is one of GM's worst engines!! Google, and read for days!!
@@laytonwhip the 2.4 ecotec was also a bad engine, I know I owned a 2011 Equinox everything is good but the engine burns oil.
A 2.5L Naturally aspirated 4 cylinder with 200 HP would be a great solid engine. The interior seat material is actually easy to clean, these vehicles are small family haulers. You can get power liftgates for these, but most rental fleets are optioned pretty light. I see there isn't even the roof rails for the cargo carriers.

There might be a way to turn off the auto stop/start feature. Many cars have that capability.
@@fa_engineer3687 unfortunately this car doesn't have that option. The only way is to drive it in manual mode (L) 6
--Jim
Elmore, come to stop, ease the brake a little bit, let is creep, it will not stop the engine.
I bought my wife an equinox in 2012 and it’s been a great car,we still have it. I bought her a Chrysler pasifica in 2019 and we like the equinox so much we kept it. Rental cars are treated very badly and have a lot of hard miles put in them.
