Suddenly the Judge shall come, and the deeds of each shall be revealed; but with fear do we cry out in the middle of the night: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O God; through the prayers of the Theotokos, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy. (12 times)
I certainly started off my Christian journey with a paralyzing fear of God but an even greater fear of hell, so I chose the God option. Over the years, I have seen the love of God in my life and has shed off a lot of the fear and incorrect understandings I had about God. I have a long way to go but as Bojan mentioned, I could be in a MUCH worse place in all aspects. Thanks be to God.
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Great video, Bojan! I enjoy your videos so much and I am glad you increased your activity over the holidays, please keep them coming. Your thoughts on this matter remind me of Dostoyevski, who said: We are guilty of everything in front of everybody. Respect from Bulgaria!
Oh, I thought this was supposed to be a Christian theological error. Historicaly, there is Protestant theology that approaches this: it's a sin to doubt your own salvation. And "you're a bad person if you fear hell" I think is very normal American Protestant informal belief. There are many sects that emphasize freedom, confidence, and fearlessness in faith as signs of an authentic relationship with Jesus. On the other hand I don't know if I would word the atheist position that you should be motivated to do good intrinsicaly without divine reward or punishment as "you're a bad person if you fear hell." There are also a lot of people who, being less imaginative and less prone to profound guilt, think that personal fear hell suggests that you as an individual are hiding something really really bad.
Bojan, as far as atheists are concerned, I personally see two kinds: the humble existentialists who have an understanding of human weakness (Albert Camus, for example) and the triumphalists who want to wipe out religion and create some form of "new free man", whether individualist (Nietzsche) or collectivist (Marx, Lenin). I just watched a talk on Harari (see link) and he's a fine example of an atheist triumphalist who prophesies an atheistic theosis. He is not alone, see transhumanism etc. Can you make a video on the subject? It's a very interesting form of modern Satanism... Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/vAzl76PwC1E/v-deo.htmlsi=p-yUx4tH4yk1-SNj
Ive heard different explanations for what Hell is. That it is a state being rather than a place. That hell is being in God's presence but not having changed so his presence is like fire. Do you think Hell is a specific place like the lake of fireor simply being close to God and unable to stand it Also can you go over the toll houses teachings?
Hell is good . Hell is just . No one who is wrong will “get away with it” , they aswell as Satan will be punished in the end . And wanting to avoid hell installs fear in the Lord , which is a great thing
"you're not a good law-abiding citizen if you fear going to prison"
In the afterlife , I prefer the non-smoking section.

04:30 I wish this wasn't as relatable.. Lord have mercy on us.
Wow I just said the same exact thing to myself at the same time!
You beat me to the comment
This was a refreshing talk, thank you for sharing.
I'm looking forward to meeting my poor Guardian Angel too. I really want to apologize "in person," as it were.... 😬🙏🕯️☦️🤗
"I'm a bad Orthodox Christian"
If Bojan is considered a bad Orthodox Christian, I don't know what that makes me 😅
"You discovered a hole on the flower pot" is a phrase I'm going to magpie from this moment onwards :)
The paradox of humility.

I respect non smokers and stand downwind so God has mercy and let's me get a second pair of breathers in the hereafter.

If fear of hell gets people to repent and Love God, so be it. I think everyone should have a healthy fear of God and Hell and strive for Sainthood.
If Bojan didn't go to the gym, how many McFatty's would he order at McDonalds?
