Yes, this is true for me as well. Been out 2 yrs. Just now seeing strength and wisdom, some healing breaking through the darkness that clouded my mind, the bleeding wounds inside my heart and daggers in my back don't bleed as much, the weight that crushed my spirit is breaking loose and lifting day by day. The Word of God, & Jesus is all I ever needed and will ever need. Satan is exposed. That wicked foe had a choke hold on me through my spouse for 23 yrs. God has and is teaching me so much through all this. I went from a barley breathing, suicidal Christian woman to hope again, smiling more, doors are beginning to open I never expected. I am learning to forgive myself and show grace to myself on the hard days. I know He will call me to rise again from that bed of hopeless, despair to take hold of Him again and again until one day that bed will be a long-gone part of my life but served a purpose I don't fully perceive yet. Praise be to God.

So true, we must keep our eyes on Jesus, and his love for us. He wants the very best for us. We have to stand in the faith realm, and not let our thinking patterns be owned by others actions, and sins against us...and the hurts others suffer. Jesus is the savior. And we go to Him only. Yes we have to learn to sometimes stand up for what is right, but most of the time, Prayer is the answer, and meditating to understand the motives of those who are used by the devil against us.
There is also the story contained in Jeremiah 35. I think the story is a bit more broad than “narcissism.” But, it is an excellent depiction of how parental guidance and restrictions can seem good, except that the rules which seem good are twisted into idolatry of the overbearing parent. Sometimes, the best one can do to honor one’s father or mother is to contain the damage rather than continue it.
This is true. I had to find it out the hard way at the 10 years of narcissistic abuse, but I am grateful for the experience and I am able to advise others.

My mother is a narcissist. I am 65 and can no longer talk to her on the phone. She would not open her home to my daughter and I when we were in desperation and had to live in a truck for 2 months in the same town. She demeans us both all the time and I decided to draw near to the Lord instead. We moved to another town.
Good for you. I, too, am 65 and I was listening to this and thinking about my cruel narcissistic mother and how she did all of the things in this video. It seriously was like she was trying to k*ll me. I didn't know why I was a total mess with a ruined life and stuck around her until I was almost 60. I did eventually dump her in the last years of her life because I was barely alive after she was done with me. My narcissistic sisters and brother in law had to deal with her and maybe they had to face themselves and face God now that I wasn't around to be everyone's punching bag.

My mom is a covert narcissist and I was not able to recognize any of these red flags because of my innocence as a child once I gave my life to Jesus my relationship with my mother started changing and then God was revealing who she really was. I was also married to a narcissist for 16 years he passed away in March 2015 so I’m praying that God rehabilitates me and continues to clarify things and mends my broken heart and helps me to rebuild myself and to seek who I truly am in God’s eyes because I know I am loved and cherished and I have a purpose here on this earth.
Yes, I experience the aggressive demeanor and cruelty everyday. Even my pets sense the evil in this individual and they are a nervous wreck when he is present! This lesson is invaluable and I will listen to it more than just this once. God bless those of us who are fighting this evil. 🙏

So i was driving and a lite bulb went off in my head. I severed the relationship told them to loose my number do not call me etc. Now that felt liberating. As a Christian, I rebuked that. I had to learn God's Word that says, through Jesus, I resist that evil from trying to come back. Amazing true of God's Word, they are not doing that anymore. Just the fact you wrote that it means you are NOT a narc. You need education in the matter. A narcissist is incapable of any type of repentance!! Not even the size on a seed...it does not matter! There is no one home in a narc. They can not feel bad even if they want to. We all have narcissistic traits...is normal. However, this is temporary. Their ego is so fragile that they can not process any emotional pain. So they will justify it away...immediately, or very, very fast. By nature, they gaslight themselves. You will never gear a narcissist admitting they are a narcissist unless....there is something to gain. And yes, they are very aware of what they are doing.

Thank you. This has helped me to process 23 years of anxiety, fear, and over responsibility. Iasked God to intervene in a family situation. However, the situation exploded. It was not how I thought God would intervene. I had to physically remove myself from these family members. I can no longer “help” them. Others may think I am neglecting them, but I cannot subject myself to their abuse any longer. They are in the way of my taking care of my immediate family.
I don't even have my immediate family . Don't worry. Put it in the Lords's hands and learn God's promises of healing. Deliverance is possible. Learn spiritual warfare prayer and proclamations. We have power in Christ Jesus. Some things take time. In the mean time keep yourself safe and strong in Jesus. He will not fail you .

How did you start noticing that your mother was a covert narcissist? I think my own mother might be one. She recently for the second time insinuated subtly that my miscarriages were likely caused by drinking tea (she assumes that i drank tea even though I repeatedly told her I did not)then she also insinuated that I did not eat healthy enough. She went on to talk about how when she was pregnant she ate healthy and took care of herself. I told her i was in touch with midwives and obgyns and she actually said that The midwife was wrong in what she told me. The conversation went lile that and at the end I felt like the miscarriages were indeed my fault. I tried to open up to my mom to tell her how i felt sad and anxious after the miscarriages and she told me that i shouldn't fear and that i should trust in God. She knows that I do. I never feel comforted by my mom.

My sister-in-law decided she hates me several years ago; it's been heartbreaking. She refuses to see me. My brother and I were once very close but now the 2 of them reject my husband and I (leaving us out of family gatherings). We live in nearby towns and we've never been invited to their house. It is just CONFUSING. And honestly we've never been anything but loving, forgiving, and kind. (BUT we are Christians and they're NOT). So, because it's been a continual stream of drama and hurt I have cut my brother out of my life because he goes along with her hate. He said "I want to invite you over but she won't let me". YIKES. I see now that he is tolerating evil. She is VERY charming and manipulative. I can't stand it anymore. We saw these signs all those years ago when they were dating....he complained to me about how the world seemed to revolve around her and her mother even warned my brother about her ways. He ignored it all and so here we are today: miserable. He wants a relationship with me but I cannot endure it any longer and don't want to be co-dependant.

This was so true and revealing of the ways of those who cause irreversible damage and ruined lives based on deceit. It happened that my own daughter was a habitual lier who took both financially and emotionally. I had 3 children, 2 of whom were the ideal kids . Great in school , loving and kind to all . When it came to my second child, it was a life filled with caos and lies , never reaching their full potential. Breaking bonds within the family and causing so much hurt that your only choice is the complete removal of that relationship. The whole it cased in my heart is always with ❤ I pray and love her from afar ,knowing this is the best thing I can do . I will I wish for reconciliation, but know it can never happen.
This has to be a demonic spirit because my sister is the same way. Even my brother who she whispers in his ears, has physically, verbally and mentally abused me several times. They’ve even destroyed and stolen my things when they can get to me physically. I fear for my life because it’s gotten so bad, I know that they want to hurt me and I have no one willing to listen or care that I’m going through this, not even the courts, and I’m scared. Seven years ago The Lord revealed a flagrant narcissist in my life. She was a person I valued greatly and encouraged her with words and actions. She separated me from my son, whom I've not heard from in too long a time. I was just a new target for her manipulation. It took me some time to overcome the brokenness I experienced in this relationship. The joy I had lived formerly, has not returned!

After years of trying to discern the root of my family’s dysfunction, last year I did a 3 month study with my ladies’ group on the book Pigs In The Parlor. It opened my eyes! I realized that my family has a generational curse of narcissism, which is caused by the Jezebel spirit taking root in a person’s life. My mother, sister and son are narcissists. My ex-husband of 21 years is also a narcissist. My father had the Ahab spirit. Growing up a committed Christian amongst all this has been so very difficult! My son has purposely kept me from being a part of my grandchildren’s life-I grieve the loss of relationships that I hold dear. I am now to the point of having to sever ties with all of them in order to keep my self-respect and boundaries-no more drama! I need peace whatever the cost! And I need people around me who truly love and respect me and know my worth.

Yes, this is true for me as well. Been out 2 yrs. Just now seeing strength and wisdom, some healing breaking through the darkness that clouded my mind, the bleeding wounds inside my heart and daggers in my back don't bleed as much, the weight that crushed my spirit is breaking loose and lifting day by day.
The Word of God, & Jesus is all I ever needed and will ever need. Satan is exposed. That wicked foe had a choke hold on me through my spouse for 23 yrs. God has and is teaching me so much through all this. I went from a barley breathing, suicidal Christian woman to hope again, smiling more, doors are beginning to open I never expected.
I am learning to forgive myself and show grace to myself on the hard days. I know He will call me to rise again from that bed of hopeless, despair to take hold of Him again and again until one day that bed will be a long-gone part of my life but served a purpose I don't fully perceive yet. Praise be to God.

I think the story is a bit more broad than “narcissism.” But, it is an excellent depiction of how parental guidance and restrictions can seem good, except that the rules which seem good are twisted into idolatry of the overbearing parent. Sometimes, the best one can do to honor one’s father or mother is to contain the damage rather than continue it.

My mother is a narcissist. I am 65 and can no longer talk to her on the phone. She would not open her home to my daughter and I when we were in desperation and had to live in a truck for 2 months in the same town. She demeans us both all the time and I decided to draw near to the Lord instead. We moved to another town.

Good for you. I, too, am 65 and I was listening to this and thinking about my cruel narcissistic mother and how she did all of the things in this video. It seriously was like she was trying to k*ll me. I didn't know why I was a total mess with a ruined life and stuck around her until I was almost 60. I did eventually dump her in the last years of her life because I was barely alive after she was done with me. My narcissistic sisters and brother in law had to deal with her and maybe they had to face themselves and face God now that I wasn't around to be everyone's punching bag.

My mom is a covert narcissist and I was not able to recognize any of these red flags because of my innocence as a child once I gave my life to Jesus my relationship with my mother started changing and then God was revealing who she really was. I was also married to a narcissist for 16 years he passed away in March 2015 so I’m praying that God rehabilitates me and continues to clarify things and mends my broken heart and helps me to rebuild myself and to seek who I truly am in God’s eyes because I know I am loved and cherished and I have a purpose here on this earth.

Thank you. This has helped me to process 23 years of anxiety, fear, and over responsibility. Iasked God to intervene in a family situation. However, the situation exploded. It was not how I thought God would intervene. I had to physically remove myself from these family members. I can no longer “help” them. Others may think I am neglecting them, but I cannot subject myself to their abuse any longer. They are in the way of my taking care of my immediate family.

She recently for the second time insinuated subtly that my miscarriages were likely caused by drinking tea (she assumes that i drank tea even though I repeatedly told her I did not)then she also insinuated that I did not eat healthy enough. She went on to talk about how when she was pregnant she ate healthy and took care of herself. I told her i was in touch with midwives and obgyns and she actually said that
The midwife was wrong in what she told me. The conversation went lile that and at the end I felt like the miscarriages were indeed my fault. I tried to open up to my mom to tell her how i felt sad and anxious after the miscarriages and she told me that i shouldn't fear and that i should trust in God. She knows that I do. I never feel comforted by my mom.

I know because I for one know this first hand the Lord had to bring me through hard Knox so that I could finally see through his mask of deception and now that I have I have realized this before I was pulled in to his death trap. My sister-in-law decided she hates me several years ago; it's been heartbreaking. She refuses to see me. My brother and I were once very close but now the 2 of them reject my husband and I (leaving us out of family gatherings). We live in nearby towns and we've never been invited to their house. It is just CONFUSING. And honestly we've never been anything but loving, forgiving, and kind. (BUT we are Christians and they're NOT).
So, because it's been a continual stream of drama and hurt I have cut my brother out of my life because he goes along with her hate. He said "I want to invite you over but she won't let me". YIKES. I see now that he is tolerating evil. She is VERY charming and manipulative. I can't stand it anymore. We saw these signs all those years ago when they were dating....he complained to me about how the world seemed to revolve around her and her mother even warned my brother about her ways. He ignored it all and so here we are today: miserable. He wants a relationship with me but I cannot endure it any longer and don't want to be co-dependant.

My older sister was my best friend my whole life, I knew and felt her lOVE for me but as we got older she changed alot, it started in 2018, I remember because I was do shocked at how she went from wonderful sister to SAYING mean and inappropriate things, trying to PICK Fights saying things she knew would make me angry, for about a little over 2yrs I fed into it and got into awful fights with her, I would cry and cry out to God wondering why and what could I do, I prayed for her even when I didnt want to. She turned a few family members against me THAT would believe the lies she made up about me being mean to her and difficult, she would twist the bad way she treated me and tell them it was me doing the bad treatment, it was pure hell because I love her!! I KEPT PRAYING AND FINALLY GOD REVEALED TO ME SHE HAD AN EVIL SPIRIT, I BELIEVE BROUGHT ON BY HER HUSBAND WHO IS A EVIL PERSON A NONBELIEVER AND NANIPULATES HER, THEYRE MARRIED 30YRS,NOT ONE FAMILY MEMBER THAT BELIEVED HER EVER ONCE ASKED ME MY SIDE JUST TOOK HERS AND FUSSED AT ME FOR TREATING HER BADLY, MY ONE OLDER BROTHER OLDER THAN HER SAID TO LEAVE HER ALONE SHE HAS BEEN A LIAR SINCE A SMALL CHILD, THAT WAS CRAZY TO ME, BUT WHAT REALLY CONVINCED ME THERE WAS A BAD SPIRIT WAS THAT ONE DAY WE WERE RIDING IN HER CAR, WE HAD STOPPED AND WHEN SHE LOOKED OVER AT ME HER EYES WERE BLACK, I KINDA JUMPED IN SHOCK, IT WAS SOMETHING OUT OF A SCARY MOVIE, THEN I KNEW SOMETHING HAD TAKEN HER OVER, SINCE 2018 SHE HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I STAY AWAY GET ANGRY BUT I PRAY AND ASK GOD TO HELP HER AND ME, HE PLACED IN MY HEART KNOWLEDGE

This was so true and revealing of the ways of those who cause irreversible damage and ruined lives based on deceit. It happened that my own daughter was a habitual lier who took both financially and emotionally.
I had 3 children, 2 of whom were the ideal kids . Great in school , loving and kind to all . When it came to my second child, it was a life filled with caos and lies , never reaching their full potential. Breaking bonds within the family and causing so much hurt that your only choice is the complete removal of that relationship. The whole it cased in my heart is always with ❤ I pray and love her from afar ,knowing this is the best thing I can do . I will I wish for reconciliation, but know it can never happen.
This has to be a demonic spirit because my sister is the same way. Even my brother who she whispers in his ears, has physically, verbally and mentally abused me several times. They’ve even destroyed and stolen my things when they can get to me physically.
I fear for my life because it’s gotten so bad, I know that they want to hurt me and I have no one willing to listen or care that I’m going through this, not even the courts, and I’m scared. She has everyone fooled. 😪
The enemy uses many of these narcissist. Draw a boundary. Surrender them to Giod. Pray for breakthrough for them . Go no contact. Ask God to bring healing in yourself. Ask God to Help you forgive them otherwise You will stay the prisoner. Remember God is your vindicator . Trust In Him . He will bring justice on His timing.🙏♥️

She was a person I valued greatly and encouraged her with words and actions.
She separated me from my son, whom I've not heard from in too long a time.
I was just a new target for her manipulation.
It took me some time to overcome the brokenness I experienced in this relationship.
The joy I had lived formerly, has not returned!

After years of trying to discern the root of my family’s dysfunction, last year I did a 3 month study with my ladies’ group on the book Pigs In The Parlor. It opened my eyes! I realized that my family has a generational curse of narcissism, which is caused by the Jezebel spirit taking root in a person’s life. My mother, sister and son are narcissists. My ex-husband of 21 years is also a narcissist. My father had the Ahab spirit. Growing up a committed Christian amongst all this has been so very difficult! My son has purposely kept me from being a part of my grandchildren’s life-I grieve the loss of relationships that I hold dear. I am now to the point of having to sever ties with all of them in order to keep my self-respect and boundaries-no more drama! I need peace whatever the cost! And I need people around me who truly love and respect me and know my worth.
