Oh my goodness! You (all) did this so well. I grew through my young childhood during the 50s, and this is just exactly the vibe of every house wife's dream. I'm afraid all too many if them felt like a failure because they didn't (couldn't!) actually follow such a thing, but they could read and dream. My mom was more sensible, and realized this was high fantasy, but she snuck in at least a few pampering activities when she could. Nostalgia to the max for me, and such eye candy!
New subbie! This video was so creative with generous sprinkles of giggles! Loved the behind the scene bloopers. Thanks for sharing! I'll be back for more! 🙂
You are absolutely lovely. Your husband is a lucky man to have you. Thank you for your videos, which I now subscribe to. Please keep making these, they truly are wonderful and inspiring for this very traditional homemaker and mother of 4 grown up 'children'.
The voiceovers came out amazing! Love it. I think taking 2-3 hours a week dedicated to self care, in whatever way works for you, is a great idea. I think today we've forgotten how important it is for a balanced life to take time to care for ourselves. Not for any outside expectations of a beauty, but to renew ourselves. That way we have energy and motivation for all the ways women give to others.
My goal is always 2 to 3 hours a DAY for beauty haha. I need to calm down a bit. Just focus on 30 minutes morning and night, and a three hour self care day once a week ❤
You have the most beautiful natural skin. It looks like perfectly coloured, perfectly placed blush. You’re gorgeous with and without makeup! Also beautiful on the inside! Thank you for making this relaxing content ❤
When rolling my hair I like to use perm rods (they give a pin curl type curl) on the sides of my head and pin curls (using long bobby pins) for the back of my head which makes it much easier to sleep. For the front of my hair, I do a side parting and one stand up pin curl. I cover all of this with a hair net that I bought from the Dollar Tree and a satin bonnet also acquired from the Dollar tree. When I bathe, I set my hair along with the hair net and cover my hair with a shower cap.
I've been subscribed for few months and only found this gem of a video 😍This is amazing, thank you, your husband and the narrator for this lovely little film 😊
Kristina, I am a mother of 2 under 2. Your videos are such a breath of fresh air for me. You helped me a lot in coping with anxiety, and the pressures of being a homemaker. I hope we could be friends. Thank you so much for making these videos. I admire your style, and you as a mom and wife.
This was absolutely adorable. Tho dressing in a fifties style is no longer my esthetic, I enjoy these videos...especially the out takes! Whoever did your voice overs was so perfect!
It's funny, self care/rest has been mentioned in every magazine and book I've ever read from the fifties so far, it's such an important thing to remember!
Kristina, your videos are so magical! 💖🌿 You’ve totally inspired me to try more vintage looks because you look like such a doll in everything you wear! Big hugs from Hawai’i! 🌈🥰
I love your videos Christina, You are creative, authentic bubbly and fun to watch. Your hard work show in each of your videos. Thanks to share joy to all of your viewers. Anne Montréal - Canada
I find applying heat to the face relaxes any fine lines that we woman over 25 seem to have. And if you have ever seen a man getting a full barber shave they put a heated towel over his beard are and we all know men look younger longer. Fyi I do rince after a hot shower with cooler water to close my pores. But my face gets the heat before the toner. Thanks for those 1959s beauty tips! Love it!
Haha yes! I feel like maybe a combo of heat in some places and ice in others. I have larger pores so cold helps tighten those, but eye wrinkles might be helped by warmth!
Your video was wonderful Kristina .. I loved it and you made me laugh with you at the bloopers! What a wonderful family you are. Hugs from Australia. x
I've started doing this in recent months. Once a week I take an injection that I have to numb my skin for (well, I don't HAVE to, I'm just a baby), and the numbing cream takes about two hours to work fully. So take a bath, and while the cream sets once I'm out, I do a facial and the like.
So adorable! I love everything about this, especially your irreverent charm and the fun you are obviously having with your husband. :) I love this series!
I sound like everyone else, that this was absolutely adorable. It's just the first words I thought of. Very good, such an excellent video, & great job!
Such a fun video! I loved it! The routine looked so relaxing until I saw the outtakes 😂 Even though it might be outdated in some aspects, we definitely deserve to take time for ourselves to relax and refresh. Look forward to more videos in the series, Kristina!
They are from Besame Cosmetics and based on vintage designs and actual vintage colors! The one I used was Victory Red which is based on a color from the 1940s
Fantastic video!!!! Kristina your work and ideas to film are amazing! Keep doing it as I can't wait every week for the new video! Hugs from Northern Ireland!
Piano too loud curls counter clockwise I hated it not authentic I want my money back 😉. Omg the best ever I absolutely loved this video. This couldn’t not be any cuter 😍😍 especially the end fantastic job from beginning to end 💕this beautiful routine seems like it would take me the whole day. I just got out of a bath I should have been in alone, but the tot found his way inside 🤣.
I just laughed SO LOUD 😂😂😂 I love you. Also my girls were 100% taking a bubble bath in the leftover bubbles while I was washing my face 😂 the audio from that portion is GREAT
Thinks I to myself 'oh, self care. I'll have me some of that.' Starts running bath. 3 year old hears. Attempt to stop 3 year old entering bathroom. 3 year old screams (never a good start to a relaxing experience). Give in, get in bath, where instead of languidly lounging in a froth of fragrant bubbles, sit as little one pours water over my head, and pats me with bubbles.
Living for this! Just a curious question. I noticed your cheeks are rather red in the video, the products you were using weren't irritating your skin were they? Mine is sensitive and I'd love to try this routine but don't want to risk a reaction. Any suggestions?
I live vintage style, I was wondering if you have any authentic 50s figures? Like you know those mini statues? I have a ton and I wanted to know if they're as popular as I think they are!

Thank you! I was nervous about that because I've never done it, but itw as so fun!
Nothing makes me feel more pampered than my 1950s beauty routines. ❤

Strawberries are my favorite too. Its a cool bed spread
“Have a berry” lol. I don’t know how you do this with kids at home. You looked so cute even with the head scarf!
And omg, the outtakes!! Life as a mom does not take a break for filming 😆❤
So cute !!! I'm 90% of the time a disheveled wife , but sometimes he gets lucky and I've had an appointment that day that I put makeup on for 🤣
You are absolutely lovely. Your husband is a lucky man to have you. Thank you for your videos, which I now subscribe to. Please keep making these, they truly are wonderful and inspiring for this very traditional homemaker and mother of 4 grown up 'children'.

Your hair looks lovely up. And love the earrings too. 🌹
My husband’s grandmother had that china pattern you used in the opening.
It's been my favorite pattern/dream china to own for YEARS. I only have a few pieces and I only use them for display.
Such a cute, fun video!

This was so fun to watch, especially behind the scenes. Were you using vintage nail polish? The bottles look like it!!
They are from Besame Cosmetics and based on vintage designs and actual vintage colors! The one I used was Victory Red which is based on a color from the 1940s
The nail polish bottles are lovely. Thank you for answering because I was wondering the same exact thing!

*Casually throws berry at the baby*
*baby* wow!
Having completely forgotten what I did in this video, this comment is HILARIOUS in extra measures 😂😂😂
Thinks I to myself 'oh, self care. I'll have me some of that.'
Starts running bath.
Lol my 3 year old and 1 year old were banging on the door as soon as they heard “bubbles” 😂😂😂
“Have a berry”. If that ain’t the most realistic parenting ever!!
YEET BERRY. lollll. She loved it tho
Living for this! Just a curious question. I noticed your cheeks are rather red in the video, the products you were using weren't irritating your skin were they?
Mine is sensitive and I'd love to try this routine but don't want to risk a reaction. Any suggestions?
Oh, I have hormonal acne and naturally red cheeks so the combo of cold, acne, and just red skin anyway makes them redder :)
@@WithLoveKristina Ah! ok. I was just worried you were using something hurtful just for accuracy sake.
Where can I get a copy of the Brides Reference Book?

Cute 💕 🦋
How do you get your bubbles to bubble like that?
A whisk!
Be careful Sweetie, applying ice to the face can make rosacea worse.
Much love and hugs 🌷.
