I love that lip color on you! It's nice to see a 1950s look that isn't a red lip and overly done eye makeup or stereotypical 'pin-up girl'. This is pretty and easily wearable!
I love a good pinup look but yes! I love this too. Haha I have to admit I get maybe a tiny bit annoyed when I see 50s makeup tutorials for the heavy eyeliner and bold lip, because 50s were mostly about looking soft and natural with a good lipstick. And eyeshadow mainly visible for evenings. But toward the end of the era colorful eyeshadow started to be “in” so that’s fun!
This makeup looks so pretty on you! It's so hard to find a cool toned pink blush. Everything is coral or peachy these day. What I usually do is just use either cherries in the snow or fire and ice, kiss the excess off into my hand, run a brush through that and then add that to my creeks like a cream blush. It looks really nice and has a nice sheen.
My Grandma and I would wash and mask our faces from time I was 3yo and she would always say to Always use upward strokes with anything going on your face! She would let me use her old makeup, use her costume jewelry and play dress up with her clothes! I miss her terribly! 💖 I'm so happy that mascara isn't cake anymore, only bc I'm too clumsy and I think I would do a terrible job!😆
Yes! A perfume video would be delightful. As someone else mentioned, Vermont Country Store is a great resource for products which have endured the test of time. They even sell some “dupes” for items that are no longer in production. I eventually want to try Tangee lip color, blush, and perfume. The lip color and blush allegedly adapt to match your tone and provide your best color.
Beautiful! I grew up in the ‘50s and remember all of the advertised products. Of course, my mother used many of them. In the 70s, Max Factor Pancake makeup was still a favorite with make-up artists in Hollywood. At that time, I was lucky to have had a wonderful make-up man from Max Factor do my stage performance make-up. He had worked for many Hollywood stars and starlets over the decades and had such marvelous stories to share!
I was just starting to get back into makeup when I saw your Revlon lipstick video. Since then Cherries in the Snow has become my go to shade! I love the balance of pink and red in it.
You look stunning! I gotta tell you that I’m combatting high blood pressure and decided to take a break and watch one of your videos knowing it would lower my blood pressure and…it did! Thank you! Anyway, I love all the information in the video!!
Yardley's English Lavender was the soap we always had when i was a kid in the 80's. White Shoulders was the first perfume I ever had and i think my grandmother gave it to me. ❤
@@WithLoveKristina I was just going to comment on how flattering that hair color was on you! I know it’s fun to play with color, but you should definitely keep your natural shade in the rotation! Unfortunately I started going gray pretty young, so I’m not ready to embrace my inner Silver Fox just yet! LOL!
That soft hint of color on your lids is definitely intriguing. Especially with Cherries in the Snow, which is one of my all time favourite shades. Going to check on the fifties lipsticks vid now. 💋💥✨
youre the only person ive found that makes content like this! i love it, would be super cool to see you try a to use these products again but with modern twists!!
I would enjoy a 50’s (or any Vintage era) perfume video. Have you ever heard of the perfume “Blue Waltz?” It’s very inexpensive on line. Keep ‘‘em coming Kristina!
Roses by Miss Dior is my favorite perfume, I cannot live without it & the bottle sort of looks like vintage one 💕that you would find on your grandmas dresser.
Please make a perfume video! I recently got into 1950s perfumes and found a few that I love, but would like to try more. My current fav is Estee Lauder's Youth Dew. I was skeptical when I first opened the bottle because it smelled like 1000 retirement homes, but after putting it on, it smelled really nice on me.
💞🌸💃🏻 Thanks for sharing this lovely video. You have a wonderful day time look. A girlfriend of mine always wore White Shoulders perfume as well as the powder. She applied it after showering. It was a really nice layered fragrance. 💕
Lovely hair & make up as always! I never thought about using an eyebrow pencil for eyeliner, that is a genius idea! Also, Do you have any hair tutorials? I absolutely love your style and would love to learn how to do more vintage hairstyles! 😊
There are still cream eyeshadows. Makeup pencils are sticks of shadow. Try some professional cosmetic brands designed for stage and movies. they may have the aqua, turquoise, violet and blues of the 50s. Or you could blend them from pots of cream shadow. Makeup today is superior to what was available in earlier times. Foundation no longer turns orangey. It lasts longer. There is more selection. Still, have lots of fun!
White shoulders kind of smells like baby powder and sweet tarts candy to me! It's very soft and girly. My grandma wore it in high school and bought for me in high school. 😆 I did wear it! I like an "old lady" scent.
DANG it I forgot to talk about that! I meant to do an update - it lasted for about 5 hours through coffee and water and chips and started to fade after I ate some oily food (but I mean, that happens). Very little transfer! Less than a lot of my liquid matte lipsticks.
I just noticed your eyes☺️ I Love heterochromia my dad had brown and blue I have yellow green with brown specks mine is hard to see unless I look close but from a normal distance my eyes look like panther cat green or yellowish 😅

Vermont Country Store is my recommendation for vintage perfume/soap as well as a few make up things!

Love the simple makeup look. Many people think the glam pinup girl make up is what they did back then but they didn’t.
You look so pretty Kristina! Yes please do a perfume video! Shalimar perfume was real popular back then too. Much love to you! ❤
I loved Shalimar in that beautiful fan shaped bottle. So mysterious

I think a powder foundation can be used as a base as well hence a lot of the powder compacts used like Max Factor creme puff, Ponds Angel Face ! ❤

A gorgeous classic color!!!!
I have Fire and Ice and Cherries in the Snow, and I have to say the latter is my favourite
The eyeshadow is lovely on you! Love this video as always! Thanks🐞
Wonderful video, you look beautiful and so close to being authentic 50's. Excited to watch more of your 50's themed videos 💗
You look stunning! I gotta tell you that I’m combatting high blood pressure and decided to take a break and watch one of your videos knowing it would lower my blood pressure and…it did! Thank you! Anyway, I love all the information in the video!!
My grandma wore chantilly
Yardley's English Lavender was the soap we always had when i was a kid in the 80's. White Shoulders was the first perfume I ever had and i think my grandmother gave it to me. ❤
You DO look pretty! The color of your hair is so flattering. I think you have found your color! Have a great day, Kristina.
Haha thank you! This is my natural hair color 🥰

My grandmother also wore White Shoulders. Brings back memories of her bathroom vanity. She also wore an Estee Lauder scent.
Omg I love that huge powder puff!
Fabulous video!!! Love how you narrated from the beauty book while you were applying too! 👌✨
P.S.
Would LOVE a 1950's perfumes video! 💖
Vintage make up is interesting. I like the 1950s make up look. Seems simple to do, but looks nice. love the shades
I LOVE your channel ❤ You are so fun, inspirational, INFORMATIONAL and SOOTHING!
I saw your matching lips and nails and said “that’s Cherries in the Snow”. Such a classic shade.
It is such a good color!
Such a simple and beautiful look, thank you 😊
Love this. I do wear Cherries in the Snow and had the polish, too, but it's disappeared so I will need to replace it. Love you. 💋

This is a lot softer than what most people would probably associate with 50s

You look so beautiful!! I love this look. I will definitely be giving this a try. Thank you Kristina ❤️
This whole look is so pretty on you! The short dark curly hair is adorable. 😍 You look like your name is Marty. 🌸
I'd love the perfume video!
You look beautiful. The purple accents are also great with your coloring.
It’s funny, purple used to be my favorite color but I haven’t worn it in forever
This look is too cute and I adore the new background!
I use the balm vintage inspired blush I bought from Amazon

You look gorgeous!! (You always do 💜) I love the information on the eye shadow, I'm gonna try that out but blue eye shadow scares me 🤣
Omg I’ve gotta message you I found a blue shadow look I’m dying to try

what is the white cream you applied to your lips and then you applied powder with a brush?
My grandmother wore Cotillion by Avon.
Oooh I love this little tidbit!
Love this video. Please tell me how did the lipstick last, any transfer?

I get compliments whenever I wear white shoulders❤mainly from older men 😊
