  • This is actual recorded video footage of Jeff Durbin speaking with two Mormon missionaries. Jeff spotted these missionaries riding their bikes across the street while he was with the head of 'The Red Door' abortion ministry (Jamie) outside of an abortion clinic. Jeff called out to the missionaries and they rode their bikes up.
    The video footage includes the discussion. This is excellent to share with Mormons and Christians alike.

      Are there any promises in the Bible concerning our kids being set apart because of a believing Mother? I'm saved but 1 of my kids aren't? Are there Scriptures I can use to comfort my heart and what should I be doing Scripturally as a parent to unsaved children?

      I was a member of a Mormon faction for 40 years, and when Galatians 1:8 was brought to me, it says if I or another angel teaches another gospel let them be accursed. Mormon gospel is clearly and distinctly different from gospel in the Bible. In that moment my mind and heart changed. God bless you in your journey

      You reminded me of one other quote of his:
      "For my part, I should not believe the gospel except as moved by the authority of the Catholic Church. So when those on whose authority I have consented to believe in the gospel tell me not to believe in Manichæus, how can I but consent?" -Against the Fundamental Epistle of Manichaeus 5,6
      Scripture is God-breathe, but who determined what is Scripture? According to Augustine, the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Timothy 3:15) whether by word or epistle (2 Thessalonians 2:15). So I can't pick and choose what the Church teaches either.

      Hmm. Interesting analogy.
      However, let's say he stops by your house and tells you that your heating isn't working properly, you tell him that it's fine because you don't actually have any heating, showing the guy that he was just imagining things.
      Feeling rather smug you tell the guy that his car needs a service. This also ends in comedy because he isn't in his car and was walking past, showing that you were both imagining things.

      @Annie-ll2jp Рік тому

      No, he does NOT have a good non-confrontational way about him. The man cannot shut up for two minutes to let anybody respond to his questions. I watched him talk to two returned missionaries in Provo, Utah. He went on and on and on and when the two young men tried to respond he ran right over by them. They couldn't get a word in edgewise. Then he told them after he finished what he was talking about he would shut up. He never shut up. He wouldn't and I don't believe he ever intended to shut up. The two returned missionaries listened to him politely and didn't interrupt him at all. But every time they tried, he ran them over. Exasperated with his non stop mouth, they politely told him they had to go and they left. He needs to learn to shut his mouth and let whoever he's talking to respond. He's no better than the rest of the street preachers. The reason he keeps going on and on and on and keeps running over whoever he's talking to and doesn't give them half a chance to respond, he likes to hear the sound of his voice. Over all he's not rude. But when he runs over whoever he's talking to, even after he says he'll shut up after he finished what he's talking about but just keeps going on and on and on is rude, disrespectful, pushy, over bearing. That's not being polite, its just plain rude!! 🤨🤨

    I WAS a Mormon, and not for long. Every question I had for all my Missionaries, Visiting Teachers and other members were ALWAYS answered with excuses. The more I pryed for the the truth, the more the answers were too hard to answer truthfully. When I defended Paganism, Wicca, Druidism, Witchcraft, etc, I was always told that I was defending the Adversary. The church knew I was living with my fiancè, and they knew I had nowhere else to go, yet they tried their hardest to get me to move out of my home, so I'm following the doctrines rightiously. They knew I had to have caffine for medicinal use (severe migraines), and they tried to get me to quit relying on caffine for my severe migraines I get. They nearly destroyed my relationship with my fiancè because he quit going to church. They judged him, pressed him to go back, and it got to the point my fiancè locked himself in our room to avoid them. My last day as a Mormon was the day I was confirmed after my baptism. I was pushed into being baptised, when I wasn't ready, or wanting to. I didn't want to commit to a religion that was wishy washy, pushy, and nosy. Coming to my home uninvited, or without calling got really annoying. Always in the middle of dinner or during intamacy time. Anyway, I don't agree with the LDS religion, period! I had no desire being a part of the church, but I was pushed too hard and did it.

    10:40-11:40 Made me think of "those who seek the truth shall find it". Thank you very much for your way of love and presenting the truth to these people. I have seen at least one older video where the Christian side (if they were Christians) basically were smart, but ended up having this talking over type, I'm gonna school you, abrasive type of attitude towards the two Mormon missionaries. And in the end it's like the two young Mormons ended up being the more mature, courteous, and respectful ones of the whole mix, until they finally decided to walk away from it. It's one thing to speak the truth, but it's another to do it in a way that would only push people further away from Jesus, or give a wrong impression of what being an ambassador for Christ should look like. Then it was like, "Well why don't You do it?", but the problem is I am a mess who continues to doubt my salvation. So you are a blessing to have on here. Thank you, and praise God!

    This reminds me of Kyle and Jerry, two Mormon missionaries we encountered in El Salvador some years back. We had a very similar conversation with them as we were out going door to door with the Gospel message of Christ. When it came to the time to depart from them, they asked us to pray for them. That is the first and only time that has happened and I have encountered many Mormon missionaries in travels for the Kingdom of God purposes all over the world. We prayed they would find no rest until they repent of their SIN, confess Christ as Lord and believe God has raised Him from the grave. Luke 13:3&5, Romans 10:9a & 10:9b. We departed in good standing. God had definitely ordained the moment! As I see here as well!

      Idolatry is not only the worship of statutes, It is the worship of anyone but the Lord. I have many Catholic friends and family, whom I heard pray for the saints and Mary, not for them to pray for them, as you stated....Idolatry begins when you lose sight of Christ. Exodus 20:3-6 You should have no other God's before me, you should not make for yourself a carved image (just walk into any Catholic church and you will find statutes of Christ, Mary or various Saints) or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or is on the earth beneath or under the waters, you should NOT BOW DOWN TO THEM, or serve them, for I your Lord am a jelous God.
      The Greek word "Saint" is Agios
      It literally means one who is alive and believes in Christ. Not someone who died and did good deeds. The Catholic bible changed the word "Saints" to "good people". The Apostle Paul writing to the Churches, would begin by saying to the Saints in Ephasus or to the other churches. The bible teaches in Romans 10:3-4 Our salvation is thru his righteousness, not ours, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
      The whole concept of Saints is distorted in Catholicism, the bible never teaches us to pray to Mary or any Saint, the bible does not teach that a mere human being (priest) can intercede for our sins, only Christ can do that and only when we accept him as our Lord and Savior.
      Concerning Peter;
      The bible does not teach that Peter is over any apostle, there like I said before, is no mention of the word Pope or that office for that matter in scripture.
      Paul, was the Roman Citizen, not Peter, no where in the bible does it teach that Peter ever went to Rome, nor does it do it in any historical texts outside of course by the Catholic Religion.
      The Catholics teach that Christ passed Peter's apostolic authority, refered to as "apostolic succession" but that office ceased to exists, with the death of John. Eph 2:19-20

It through our Faith that we start this journey and how we finish it. Believe that Jesus Christ can heal you ! I agree with the above comment... They best way to evangelize is to understand their theology/doctrine. And of course by approaching them with grace. LDS Theology holds difficult and austere doctrines that stray from the truth of the Gospel.
      Mormons place all their hope in their church/prophets rather than in Jesus Christ and His grace alone. They reject the divinity of Jesus in respect to the trinity. Most can't trust the Bible because they believe it has been corrupted. And many believe you can only come to the Father by living a Celestial-kingdom lifestyle.
      The saddest thing is that if they're right. Most Bible-believing evangelical Christians will at least go to the Terrestrial Kingdom and get to be with Jesus. However, if they're wrong- they're condemned eternally for hoping in a false gospel.

    Baptism is not a requirement to obtain salvation. Believing on the name of Christ and asking for forgiveness and salvation is all that is needed. Repentance of sins comes from salvation. Was the thief on the cross next to Christ Baptized? No. He was not. It is a outward showing to other fellow believers that you you been saved. Death, burial, and resurrection. It represents a rebith, a new life in Christ Jesus. If you are married and take your ring off, are you still married? Yes. It shows others you are married. If you are on your death bed and receive Christ if you hadn't before, and mean it with your heart, mind, and soul, you are saved. I believe that every believer should be baptized. Jesus commands us to be baptized, but doesn't say that you will go to hell if you don't or if you're unable to.

      This is not true, the Bible teaches Baptism is necessary, very clearly. Jesus himself said to the disciples in Mathew 28:20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of he Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Jesus, also in Mark 16:16 " GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE. HE WHO BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED; BUT HE WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE WILL BE CONDEMNED." also, Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let EVERYONE of you be BAPTIZED in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." then we can go on over to 1Peter 3:21 "There is also an antitype which now saves us- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. So, Jesus himself tells us to be baptized, the Bible speaks quiet frequently on this in the new testament and the last verse I shared also gives meaning into what baptism is and why we are baptized. Yes, by God's grace the thief on the cross through faith was saved, he could not have come off that cross and be baptized. However, we can, and we should because the Lord commanded it, and because it is also a symbol of our death and resurrection with Jesus Christ, our decision to reject this will and live for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who Himself was baptized. Please, there are more scriptures on this, read them yourself and see, and pray as well that God would open your hearts and eyes to the truth of His word.

    • @stormcrow8149
      @stormcrow8149 8 років тому +5

      +Kay Kalan That is true. Christ did say that. But the thief on the cross wasn't. Act 2:21 John 3:16. When you get saved, you are first baptized by the Holy Spirit. The water baptism is a proclamation before other believers

    • @kaykalan2550
      @kaykalan2550 8 років тому

      We are saved by grace through faith and not in ourselves lest any man should boast" Eph2:8 through the grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ the thief was saved, and so all who accept Jesus. This is what saves, not baptism. And yes when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior which of course includes repentance of sins, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells within us. However we are still called to baptism as it is says in 1 Peter 3:21very clearly "There is also an antitype which now saves is- baptism (not the removal of filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. See what baptism symbolizes is that we die with Christ to our old selves, we rise and becomes new creatures in Christ Jesus. This is not gonna save us, but as an act of obedience to Jesus and because of what baptism symbolizes is why we are baptized. What shall we say then? neglect the very words of Jesus to be baptized because it does not save us? No, we follow Jesus and obey what He says. Had baptism not been essential then why were the apostles baptizing men knowing surely it is only by grace through faith we're saved? It is because the Lord commanded and what it symbolizes. So no, it does not nor will anything other than grace through faith, no work will save but this does not mean neglect what the Bible teaches we will do, as an act of being saved.

      That is absolutely wrong on all accounts, Muhammed and Jesus had VERY different messages, even atheistic comparative religion experts agree on that. Muhammed taught a works-based salvation which leads many Muslims to live in an ever-constant insecurity whether or not Allah will grant them Jannah (paradise) which by the way is very different from the Christian view of salvation and Heaven where we are assured of our salvation and reunited with Jesus, experiencing perfect relationship with him and each other, Allah is not in the Muslim paradise. Allah is distant, whereas Yahweh (The Hebrew name that God gave himself in Exodus "I AM") is both immanent and transcendent, He desires relationship with us), Islam in essence promotes a theocracy whereas we don't, and many other differences. Origins, meaning of life, and eternity are among many things Muslims and Christians disagree with; and the reason their are similarities in both Islam and Judeo-Christianity is that Muhammed definitely was in dialogue with people of both faiths and used those ideas to form Islam.

      +Mxborg Unimetrix07 Ephesians ch 2 is talking about the difference between being a Gentile (or not a Jew) and being saved by grace through faith in Jesus. Verse 19 and 20 together talk about how we are ALL... those who believe in Christ are ALL Saints. The verse quotes "citizens with the saints." Based on the early church of Acts 2 and forward.

    • @Nightwing20
      @Nightwing20 8 років тому +1

      +I Comment But if you take the core of what he's talking about, he's not trying to prove that he is right. He's not even about proving that they are wrong. His concern, and this is the problem with a lot of people, is that people are mishearing the gospel. The illusion of the gospel is "Christ will love you if...." fill in the blank. (go to this church, do this mission, covert 4 people a week, etc.)
      Now I'm not gonna say "Just read your bible and you'll get it." Because a lot of the things Jesus preached on were against Pharisees.... misreading contexts. That's why Jesus during his Sermon on the Mount consistently says, "You have heard it said... but I say to you..." So this is not a new problem.
      I will encourage to look at the character of who Jesus is. A man who preaches love and forgiveness. A man who offers freedom from our own guilt, sin, and shame. And for those who misread that message are missing out on every wonderful thing Christ has. This is why Jeff is talking to the Mormons the way he does. He loves them and He wants Christ reflected in his proper light.
      *steps off soap box*

    • @Nightwing20
      @Nightwing20 8 років тому +1

      +honestlyfromtheheart 2016 that's a good start... but I think you should consider a couple things. 1.) Satan tempted, ultimately sin entered the world because of Adam and Eve's choice to disobey God. Without Genisis 3, we wouldn't need Jesus.
      2.) God hates sin lies the second problem. Because of human sinful nature, there is disagreement as to what is a sin and what isnt. Then people try to manipulate the bible and "pull a different context" to create a form of religion that fits their needs. Then the other extreme when a church classifies something as sinful then becomes overbearing and hate filled condemning everyone.
      Bottom line: We need a Savior. It's all about Jesus

    When I was on my mission I was much like these guys, not well versed in the bible or familiar with traditional Christianity. However, I've since gained a lot of knowledge and can say without reservation that the bible does not say that grace is all that is required. We MUST keep God's commandments and do works or righteousness if we expect to have life with him. You have to remember that Paul had several audiences. Sometimes they were Christians and other times Jews. The Jews continued to adhere to the works of the law (of Moses) and Paul was teaching that this law was fulfilled and no longer required. Also, if you were to take a close look at what the early Christian fathers taught regarding this subject in the first and second century when the doctrine was still somewhat pure, they all (without exception) taught that good works must accompany faith to receive grace. They also taught (as did C.S. Lewis) the theology of deification or the fact that we can become as God is.

    • @leonscott543

      Russ Bishop the teaching that we become as God is actually the teaching of the serpent from garden.... its the oldest philsosophy given to us from Satan.... and it appears in many forms of religion even making its way into Christian discussions. this is the same lie Satan himself believed, which is why he was vanished from Heaven....

    • @russbishop6875
      @russbishop6875 8 років тому +1

      I would be misrepresenting Lewis and the early church fathers unless I quoted them. C.S. Lewis said: "The command 'be ye perfect' is not idealistic gas. Nor is it a command to do the impossible…He said (in the bible) that we were 'gods' and he is going to make good his words. The process will be long and in parts very painful; but that is what we are in for."
      He also said: "It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses".
      Jordan Vajda, a former catholic priest said "The historic Christian doctrine of salvation-theosis, meaning, human divination-- becoming like God--for too long has been forgotten by too many Christians, despite the fact that this teaching is a part of the common inheritance of first millennium Christianity"
      Now, if you also want the quotes from the early church fathers I would be happy to give them to you but I will warn you that you won't like what you read.

    Either Joseph Smith was a prophet of God or he wasnt. Plain and simple. You can argue points of doctrine all day long but what it comes down to is asking God for yourself if its true and if Jeseph saw God the Father and His Son. Ask God if he was a prophet and if he restored the church. It either happened or it didnt. I have studied with the missionaries and I have prayed for myself to know the church is true and God did hear me and he did Answer my prayers. Joseph Smith was a prophet, The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is Gods true church.

    • @randoggle805
      @randoggle805 8 років тому

      James 1:5 is the only necessary scripture to test a prophet with. If you do what that scripture says and ask God yourself believing that God answers prayers then you will get an answer from God. I have asked God if Joseph Smith is a true profit and he answered my prayers. God spoke peace to my heart and I know without a doubt Joseph was a Prophet of God. Like i said before, Joseph was either a Prophet of God or he wasnt. Ask God for yourself. Man and man's interpretation of scripture alone will not get you anywhere. Why not ask God himself? He is the reason we have the scriptures to begin with. :)

    • @randoggle805
      @randoggle805 8 років тому

      ***** Iam indeed blessed by what i just read thank you! The leader of ISIS is a false prophet. There are lots of people at this very moment to claim to be prophets that are not. What I know is that God answers even the smallest and shortest of prayers if we have faith that he will speak to us as his children. I know I am a child of God and that he loves me. I know that God loves me enough to answer my Prayers. I dont need mans interpretation of the bible. I read scriptures myself and then seek answers from God not from man. I challenge you to do the same. Read some scriptures and then ask God if your understanding of those scriptures is true. Thats the only way to build a personal relationship with God....Through prayer.

I have trouble believing that Joseph Smith was NOT a prophet, because he would've lived a huge, elaborate lie his whole life, and why would anyone do that? Why would he mislead a bunch of people? Fair enough, however a more exacting question to ask yourself would not be "why would Joseph Smith continue in such a big lie?" But the bigger question would be why would people continue in a lie like the witnesses to the Golden Plates and the Book of Mormon, and continue to assert the truthfulness of it; when most of them were either excommunicated from the Church or left it, with some even becoming enemies of Joseph and the Church?
