When I met my husband I was open to the mormon religion but was still living my life very unsteady. Smoking and drinking was an everyday for me. As we got our first appartment we learned we bad 2 sister missionaries from his church li ing right behind us. They took thier time with me every single day for over an hour everyday and slowly swayed me into living a righteous life. Shortly after that my husband and I were married and he baptized me as a member of the church. We now are expecting our 3rd baby boy this month and I can say with my heart that the sister missionaries who took their precious time with me when I was once stubborn and hard headed. Changed my life. They were right where they needed to me at the perfect time!

Tremendous testimony! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly is Jesus Christ's only true and living church, with its ordinances and opportunities being the only way whereby we can come to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Elder Holland YA Devotional January 2023).

What many people don't know about mormon missionaries is that they not only spread their doctrine but actively engage in humanitarian aid. If all privileged kids had compulsory humanitarian aid work after school this world would be a better, more modest place. Well done LDS church.

This stubborn Baptist took all of six months and nine missionaries to finally agree to be baptized Sep 18, 2021. I couldn't be more joyful about the decision. After my decision made in faith GOD has granted me so much logical understanding of the church and the Temples.

You're just beginning to the joys of the gospel, the many things about the Old Testament accounts that seems vague will become
clearer as you study more of all the scriptures provided and connect all the dots, then, it will made sense, in a bigger picture.

I had been planning to serve a mission as soon as I turn nineteen, but a couple months ago I was trying to know for sure if this is really the time for me to go. I had prayed about it, but still wasn't sure. Then I saw this video. I was almost to the end when the Spirit hit me like a freight train. I know that this is time for me to go. My papers are in, and I'm waiting for my call. I'm so excited! This is the happiest time of my life because I'm preparing to do what the Lord intends me to do. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, and I am so grateful for my Savior!

The harvest is truly great, but few are the laborer's, the Lord truly needs your dedication and devotion to his great work.
Gathering Israel is a huge undertaking, we want more souls on the Lord's side, not on Satan's Kingdom where they will be
tortured without rest. It's because of love, really it is....

I entered this institution a few decades ago when I was 19. The curriculum was great. I am still thankful to the Church that provided me such a great opportunity and experience to serve as a missionary of the Lord. I can still remember the spirit, smell of those buildings and sacred air there.

what an inspiring video! I served a mission 39 years ago and walked the halls of the MTC after being converted at 16, started my mission at 19. In just 30 days my son will be at the MTC to begin his own mission. What a great legacy to share with him as he begins his service to the Lord. I will miss him terribly, but I know this is the right thing to do.

I love missionaries! They were the tool Heavenly Father used to find me when I prayed to know which church I should join after much preparation by study and eventual prayer. That was 32 years ago. I have never had a day of inactivity or doubt. I have so much gratitude in my heart for what the missionaries do to share the gospel and for teaching me about the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Two years after being Baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which was 42 years ago this month (May 1980) I walked to the mailbox and found a gray envelope containing a letter signed by then President Spencer W. Kimball, "Calling me to Serve the People of Northern California for 2 years. About 6 weeks later I entered the MTC (Missionary Training Center) to learn how to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people that I would meet in the Sacramento area. The things I learned at the MTC and during the next 2 years have blessed my life daily.

I was 20 years old in 1975, when I got baptized in Southern California. A year later I went on a mission, in 1976. When I was at the MTC from September- November 1976 it was a brand new facility and was dedicated when I was there in October 1976. Almost all of the general authorities were there with President Kimball.
After that I was sent to Germany. I had some fond memories of that time. I am now 66 years old. I am still active, along with my wife, but our 2 daughters are inactive. How I long for those promising young years.

My experience in the MTC in 2001 was so servery traumatic. I just finished my first year at Ricks and then I reported to the MTC in August of 2001. This video makes the MTC look friendly, casual, bright, and welcoming. All I remember was the following. 12 hours per day for 3 - 4 weeks, in one single dark class room doing only one task; silently memorizing word for word each Discussion. Then after a few weeks of literal torture, 9/11 happened. I was so stressed out because they wouldn't tell us much and they told us not to talk about it. One day I was so exhausted from the Memorizing assignment and from worrying about NYC, I just couldn't take it and I bolted. I was planning on coming back to the Classroom, I simply needed to vent. I took a walk and fell to my knees on the Exercise Field. I just laid there for a few minutes and before I knew it I had fallen asleep on the Grass. I was so exhausted I couldn't keep my eyes open. I woke up with four cops kicking me to wake up. They told me I was Trespassing and they were informed that a Missionary bolted. They cuffed me, and they took me to the Hospital for evaluation. That was it. My MTC Mission President didn't follow up when I was at the Hospital. The Hospital cleared me and the MTC simply called my Folks to come up from SoCal to pick me up and take me home. This was Sep 12 and all flights were grounded. They were worried and upset. My Mom and Dad drove up because it was the only option, they couldn't simply jet up and they were worried. I was out on the Street for about 24 hours because I didn't even have my Wallet on me. The MTC nor did my Mission President help me find a place to sleep that night. And that was the duration of my Mission. They wouldn't let me come back. I served only about 4 weeks. The MTC will always be a rotten place for me.

I'm member of the church last year I found myself I had struggles with my faith but I'm still as member of the church. As single guy I'm feel good but sometimes is hard to understand when all people in church try to tell me that I'm not the right member because I'm still single. We have a particular situation in Latin American countries when you are single guy. I'm a good boy but last year was hard to me my Mom has cancer and I was seek also at the same time. So during that period of time I was thinking about my time as a young missionary I really loved that time If you ask myself about where my testimony is coming from ? I can tell you that testimony was building when I was a missionary I miss all friends, companions, leaders, etc. I think life is good but the real life show us that most important things are related to spiritual stuff but is hard when people in church judge me for my single condition status. I love all the memories of the mission at the end if there's something which inspire me I can tell you is the time when I preached the gospel.

I was in one of the first missionary groups to go through what was then called the Language Training Mission (LTM) in the winter of 1977. After two months of language and spiritual immersion 12 of us left on a Pan Am jet to our mission which was the Costa Rica-San Jose Mission which in those days included the countries of Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. I was privileged to serve in all of the countries except Panama during my two year mission. I still think of those days almost every day even now.

I'm sorry but you DON'T have to serve a mission to get a temple recommend, to serve as a bishop, or even to serve as prophet of the church. I avoided missionary service in favor of going to college. I have a full temple recommend, a full temple marriage and I serve in the bishopric. Missions are okay for SOME people, but for others, it's not required nor should it be pushed on members at all.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time with missionaries from this church. I’m always impressed with how wholesome, sincere and kind they are. At the same time though, I’m saddened with their beliefs, ie: God has a wife, God is not spirit but a human being, we can all become God , Jesus was in New York etc...

Being a missionary is a great responsibility! A missionary must have great energy, fortitude, and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, no matter what part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. Locals must understand what the missionary is telling them. The missionary must get the Word right! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is on a mission or preparing for one, I would like to recommend a very good workshop written by Yury Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes: Practical tips for learning foreign language. This wonderful book will give you answers how to properly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book provides answers to many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. I wish you good luck in your important work!

The language curriculum is unparalleled. The new buildings are beautiful. The gym facilities look amazing. Despite the murals it still looks like a corporate campus now. The MTC doesn't prepare you for some of the missionary housing in the field. One place I lived as a missionary in South America was absolute squalor . We had to walk through chicken poop to get to the bathroom. My mission president couldn't have cared less when I described the conditions. I brought home a particularly virulent foot fungus that I have never successfully been cured of.

Shawna Jensen Johnson Yes. Military personnel get so much credit and respect from the public for serving, their service can involve killing and fighting. Missionaries share a message of peace. I don’t get why Americans don’t afford them the same admiration. They and The Church are the best export from America (all be it The Church is a global church not an American church).

Great film. I work with youth in South Central Los Angeles. I would like to be able to use this video as part of a Sunday Aaronic priesthood lessons to encourage plans for serving missions. I am hesitant to do so because there is a dramatic lack of people in the film who look like the youth I work with. I understand that we are all God's children and it shouldn't matter but I am talking about people who already feel their minority status in American life and will interpret going on a mission, as shown in this film, as something for members of European ancestry only. In the future when such films are produced can you please be more aware of this and use a diverse group of on camera people so as to have a more inclusive effect for viewers. Thanks. Verlin Richins, Inglewood California Stake.

Wow this new buidling is amazing! It is really exciting to get to know it but it was even more fulfilling to feel the Spirit thru these young men and women's enthusiasm to serve others. After coming back from a mission over 20 years ago and having just been set apart for another a couple days ago, it was really exciting to watch this video. Thanks for sharing it!

I've always wanted to see what the inside of a mormon church looks like. I only went into one once just to warm up for a few minutes cause it was freezing outside, but I was too afraid to explore cause I was afraid I would be kicked out.

Eydis no I promise you, being a present Mormon you would never be kicked out, we encourage people to come and listen and look around we would never kick any one out no race no gender or belief, every sign outside our building says visitors welcome!!
