  • So yes you can work on hyper-nourishment with gastric bypass surgery, but as you can tell, I have a lot of feelings about it.
It can be lifesaving when someone is morbidly obese and dying of obesity related illnesses. However, I believe patients are not given enough emotional support for the issues that got them there, and it’s been done on smaller patients that have time to still work on their health before getting surgery that permanently affects their ability to be nourished. It can also cause more harm from surgical complications and malnourishment, and poor eating post-surgery can cause autoimmune diseases.
I once was asked to give psychiatric clearance for a patient to get gastric bypass surgery, which I denied, because she had severe PTSD from sexual abuse and believed her weight protected her. I knew she would deteriorate if we didn’t first come up with coping skills and game plans for the rapidly decreasing weight. In spite of my refusal to clear her, the surgeon did the procedure anyway, and my patient decompensated into panic attacks as the weight dropped faster than her mind could cope with. She would see me holding pillows against her body crying.
I also worked in a hospital ER, and I saw many patients who had complications from gastric bypass surgeries, many of whom needed to be admitted for more procedures.
I had a wellness client who had had gastric bypass & told to drink whey protein shakes for nutrition. She lost so much weight she was on the hospital posters advertising the procedure. Then she got autoimmune disease from those inflammatory shakes. Not only that, she’d regained a lot of weight. To say she was angry is an understatement. We had to start with 2 oz “shots” of smoothie, but she got better with my Goodbye Lupus Protocol.
So if you haven’t had the surgery yet, start with hyper-nourishment and start crowding out the bad stuff by ADDING healing nutrients with smoothies and salads - it will get your metabolism going and improve your health immediately. Check out smoothieshred.com in my profile link for the free weight loss protocol. If you already had the surgery, it’s not too late to get nourished and optimize your health.
    I hope this video helps!

hyperemesis gravidarum question: Hi Dr Goldner! I was wondering if you have looked into the recent findings on GDF-15 and HG. I have been following you forever and I know you suffered in your pregnancies as well. Any thoughts on this and if women can use hyper-nourishment or other nourishing foods to raise GDF-15 before pregnancy? I would love to have another baby, but am so afraid to go through that for a third time. Thank you!

Before two month doctor found out I have sjogrens.
My ANA report show that RNP/Sm is point 4. Sm(Sm), ssA, Ssb, scl -70, PM-Scl 10, centimeter B, nucleosomes are point 1. it shows that negative. But I felt all the symptoms.

I am taking steroids hcq 200, maxgalin, ecoaspirin, vit d, and some other medication for salivary gland inflammation.
