On one hand, it’s good to be honest about steroid use. On the other hand, I worry that this has the opposite effect on people who start seeing several creators disclosing their steroid use and begin thinking they should too.
I totally understand your take on that but a couple of things. 1. Josh is not communicating that in any way. 2.Josh isn't responsible for folks misinterpreting his video. People will do what they want 3. People need to know if elite level folks are using. It's a shame when folks think all the people in a certain sport are natty, when in fact they are not. It's really dishonest and deceiving to young athletes. Prime example could be crossfit. All the top athletes supposedly pass drug tests and are clean, while PED experts claim that majority of the field is using. Young kids set unreal expectations on themselves by comparing themselves to enhanced athletes. I think hiding the fact people are using isn't the answer which leads me to the next point 4. Education is KEY. If young people are truly educated, they will do like Josh did, reach there genetic potential before using. Learn to train, eat right, sleep right, and learn how their body functions as a natty FIRST. In the meantime they can be learning so they can make a true educated decision if they want to use, and with enough info and guidance, can use as safe as possible without messing themselves up. Idk i just think education is CRITICAL. Education is what would stop teens from doing dumb things like jumping on dianabol only for 6 months straight. 5. I think Josh did a great job also touching on the fact that there are possible top level nattys in the sport which was a great point. I love that acknowledgement. I think that is another critical part of the conversation. I personally know some natty teens who are absolute freaks of strength. Most would swear they are on something but I saw how strong they were at 12 years old and it's unbelievable.
@@FuelFitnessCo I agree Josh presented his thoughts in a well intentioned manner. I'm not arguing Josh's method though, he opened up about his PED use in a clear manner, and he is allowed to use them if indeed the sport keeps them legal.
Although you are very cautious, very careful in your message, you certainly know that the position you occupy will give a green light to the younger atheltes, some of them might be willing to be thoughtful, and your message might be helpful to them, but the vast majority will just receive this as a go. In most sports people use it all the time. The question is what are they boosting their levels to normal or triple the amount of normal. There is a big problem with medicine because they have a range for all ages.

I took trt after having our first kid at 38. Decided to have another kid at 40, so came off and did a fertility test. Results came back almost off the charts, lady interpreting them said they were some of the highest she’d seen. We had twins about 9months later 😂. I’m 44 now, purple belt, train 4x per week. Not on trt anymore and feel great. Infertility & On it for life is a myth, although I will def do again if I start to feel shit.
So what made that you used it??
Why have you stayed off TRT?
On one hand, it’s good to be honest about steroid use.
On the other hand, I worry that this has the opposite effect on people who start seeing several creators disclosing their steroid use and begin thinking they should too.
Do as I say, don't do as I do. Seems the message here.
And it seems a poor one.
Also it seems a lot of excuses to justify using roids.
@@Reflectionmaterialyup
I totally understand your take on that but a couple of things.
1. Josh is not communicating that in any way.
2.Josh isn't responsible for folks misinterpreting his video. People will do what they want
3. I think hiding the fact people are using isn't the answer which leads me to the next point
But still, I would imagine that several (younger especially) people would look at him and think "I want to be like him too" and start taking PEDs. When you have several influencers in your feed with the same message that they too use steroids, even though it is an honest one, it may lead you down a certain path.
I'm not arguing Josh's method though, he opened up about his PED use in a clear manner, and he is allowed to use them if indeed the sport keeps them legal.
@@pauldarthurs the sport is not testing for them. Does not mean they are legal.
Steroids are illegal in sports mate.
what steroids should I take if I want to look like 1996 Shawn Michaels or 1989 Rick Rude
For shawn michaels just do must drug and no steroids because he didn't do them he just done a lot drugs
@@macattack619 he actually got suspended in 1993 for steroids
Although you are very cautious, very careful in your message, you certainly know that the position you occupy will give a green light to the younger atheltes, some of them might be willing to be thoughtful, and your message might be helpful to them, but the vast majority will just receive this as a go. Would you consider yoursef as somone playing by the rules now ?
Hopefully the young npc watching this video don’t go do roids just wait until your testosterone naturally drops then go use roids
Insecurity.
Its good if you lack talent/technique
@@wrosslandwr8032 no no. Are you a jiujitsu profecional? ADCC, CGI, that type of thing? If not, dont put "training jiujitsu", "talent" or "no talent" in the mix.
You do that bc other things. Take care. Jiujitsu is a marathon.
Respect Mr. Saunders
Josh what were your PRs in the gym when you were focused on lifting?
Roids seem to be too much of a crutch for me to consider them. Plus, Im too lazy to do all those blood tests. Life is hectic and busy enough. Adding one more complex variable to an already busy lifestyle would make me insane.
There's nothing wrong with listening to what scientists have to say, its usually better than listening to one person experiences
The Natty King reigns supreme. Everyone is juiced to their eyeballs and still can't keep up with the Nicky Rod.
Gordon Ryan would disagree. And Nicky Rod natty?...no lol
I think it should be allowed in all sport under the care of a medical professional. Testosterone levels are a genetic lottery, why just because someone hit that jackpot should they have the advantage. If everyone had access to the same level of T, it comes down to skill. Gordon Ryan doesn't just win because he's on test, he won because he has years of skill and experience. CJ is on them too... Its probably the fairest competition in the world.
Everybody roided out of their mind is fair???
Where do you draw the line?
Can everybody use EPO, roids??
What about cocain??
indeed, this is largely taboo for some reason. More people are explaining their experiences and it's a plus imo. For sure i want a clean sport, but at least if people dope, its best if we know
“You’re far too physically bankrupt to even consider it” 🤣🤣👏🏼
In most sports people use it all the time. The question is what are they boosting their levels to normal or triple the amount of normal. There is a big problem with medicine because they have a range for all ages.
In most sports you get tested.
Using steroids makes you a cheater
Love it Josh haha
Anabolic use is pervasive in bjj in a crazy way. I train at a very big gym in southern California and roll with roided-out hobbyists all the time. I'm not sure if it trickles down from the competitive scene or if the activity attracts people who would use anabolics anyway.
As a juice head my self . I knew you were on . But you didn’t say your doses and compounds you’re on . What is it ?
Great job talking about it 👏 👍
So do u blast and cruise ? Or cycle ? And what are your doses

Never really understood why people give you so much stick about gear considering it is allowed lol but thanks for the video josh!
👍🏿
Because it is cheating
Because they know it isn’t the magic ingredient that if they took it they’d still suck.
@@HPUcoaching yeah, be the hardest working bloke in every room etc.
With your roid given gifts you can work a lot harder and easier than natty athletes mate.
I just googled you. You are 27 years old.
I feel you just sold your soul to the devil for an easier time training and recovering.
Also you are on big stages so every single person watching it knows at least a part of your accomplishments are because of cheating.
So it either taints anything you do, or it will give incentive for other people to roid up. As apparantlly to make it in high level grappling you need that.
Because it gives you an advantage, yes you still need skill, but if it didn't give you an advantage for free then why would people take it, if it made you more muscular but more tired and you couldn't train, guess what they wouldn't be taking it, so ofc the reason it is banned in all respectable sports it because it offers a benefit for free with risky side effect, on top of this the side effect range from person to person and are long term not only whilre you take it
@@HPUcoachingthen why do you take it? It does give you an advantage over natties.
How much money is it costing you per month?
No offence, but I did not understand why you use them. Tell about advantages and disadvantages. Better stamina, joint, ligaments health, how much in numbers, any troubles with mens health etc
What are the best anabolics for Jiu Jitsu that you have tried?
Test cypionate or test enanthate
I prefer 400 test 400 NPP for a bulk and 300 test 400 masteron for contest prep .
dudes got a snaggletooth
Doing it at the elite level, to me, is different to being on PEDs competing as a blue belt - if I understand the video correctly.
In both cases you are cheating.
It’s a given if you want to keep at the top of any sport that doesn’t test you’re going to have to use to compete against those who do. If you’re random Bob who trains twice a week and does a few tournaments a year you’re fine and don’t need the risk
And that seems the horrible thing.
Natty athletes are forced to also roid up or get passed by those who do.
@@Reflectionmaterial yup but it’s the sad reality of all sports.
@@zyncarla in other sports people get tested.
@@Reflectionmaterial and most people know how to get around it. There is heavy use in the nfl, nba, soccer, ufc, wrestling, pretty much all sports. I’m not condoning it as a life time natty myself, but I’m also bigger and stronger than most the user I roll with
@@zyncarla lol, how do they get around random testing??
In the Olympics you get a lifetime ban if you test positive.

there's nothing wrong with steroids, its just the reasons for using it , if you are 17 you ABSOLUTUALTY GOT NO REASON to use them however if you are 71 its gonna let you recovery much faster and give you a few more years of something good. its a question of when not do it or not

Excellent video. No problem with people on steroids competing in competitions that allow it however i do have issues with people obviously on steroids competing in amateur competitions in which it is against the rules. It is still cheating whether there is testing or not if the rules say no steroids. However thanks for the video, I’ll be making sure my teenage sons watch it given that some of their mates are already experimenting
Mad respect Josh.Jesus christ man.Coming forward with this is not easy in the current environment. From a career standpoint and all the illusions young impressionable athletes are given.Hopefully this gets more high level competitors to be more honest about what the reality of the highest level of sport is.I'm sure there's something that can be done to make sport as fair as possible. We should be heading in that direction.
Wait so it's not açai and jesus?!!!!
This is your most interesting video yet only 13 minutes

Thanks for your open and honest insights into this and not selling a lie as so many enhanced people do.
Thanks for your honest point of view. Also much respect for keeping in 💯….. like the great Tony Montana once said, "All I Have In This World Is My Balls And My Word, And I Don't Break 'Em For No One!"
The statement "I am doing steroids because of the blue light and microplastics in my life" seems wild to me, but respect for sharing your experience.
idk if you still use them but shout out to Brad & Elevetion Health. Started BJJ w/ Brad in a garage in SLC, UT. One of the nicest guys out there!
100% off BJJ Pros using Steroids... except Nicky Rod of course 🤣
This isnt a sport where steroids will excell u through it because its skill based....it can help but doesnt make u a better fighter
Killer bruz
Are steroids illegal? if the answer is yes, than it is cheating, regardless if everyone is doing it. Do steroids make you better at jiujitsu, I mean, training more jiujitsu makes you better at jiujitsu, and do you know what can help you train more jiujitsu? steroids, because you can recover faster, and train more with jiujitsu compare to a person who is not taking steroids. So yes, steroids can help you do more jiujitsu, and more jiujitsu = get better at jiujitsu.
Being stronger, having more muscle mass while at the same time still having a ton of cardio also kinda helps in BJJ matches.
@@Reflectionmaterial correct
Id say 30+ (masters) should be allowed to run. But young men have so much natural test with a proper diet and schedule. I wish i didnt waste my 20s, healthwise.
Why should 30 plus be allowed to roid up???
@@Reflectionmaterial any shpuld be allowed. Idc. But imo men in their 20s will be much happier if they learn to utilize their natural levels. Then when they are in their 30s they will start trt and know their bodies. But thats just my old opinion
