My hair clippers arrived today. They are exactly as David described and demonstrated. In my case I asked my wife of almost 52 years to 'get to it' and do my hair. To be honest, my wife isn't a hairdresser, but she has cut my hair with comb and scissors since we were married. She found these clippers much easier, and quicker to use. I am delighted with my haircut. Thanks David, when you get fed up with cruising it's watch out QVC. An honest man is on his way.
I've been cutting my hair with a similar device for years now. Can't remember the last time I paid to have a haircut! One "pro tip" that works for me: My cutter just has numbers on the cutting guides - not sure if they mean anything other than a relative depth of cut, but I find if I do the top with a 6 and the sides with a 4, it makes for a slightly (!) more stylized look when I'm done. I think it looks a little better than just a uniform cut all across my head.
Thanks David. The outcome is clearly testimony to the quality and your haircut looks really good. You would never know that you had done it yourself. The clippers will pay for themselves in a few months with the savings you are making.
I’ve been looking at clippers on Amazon for over a week now and am pulling my hair out (😂) deciding which to buy. Thanks to your review I’ll be buying these. 👍
Im the same! I cut my hubby & sons hair last month but Id rather have a new set of these to make it easier. For a week now Ive been on Amazon & Ebay looking for inspiration but I might just get these now.
Is there no escaping you? Been watching your boat videos for years and then your van ones, now I do a search on hair and beard clippers and there you are again. Got them yesterday on a one day Amazon deal for £30. Cheers From Tumbleweed on the Leeds & Liverpool.
The plastic bit isn't actually plastic ;) It's ceramic - very hard material with excellent cutting properties when sharpened, they make kitchen knifes out of the same stuff. Thanks for the review, bought these a a few years back although with less attachments and without a second battery. Still working great!
Thank you David for this review, its very informative. I was hoping you would give us your review when you said you had bought them. These looks a cool set of clippers and a neat job done on yourself. If like my old clippers they will pay for themselves 1000s of times over in saved hair cut costs.
@@DavidExpertTV The RFC - 92 does not come with a spare battery. It has a circular control at the front from 0.5mm to 2.5mm rather than the cylindrical one on your model. Otherwise pretty much identical. (my 92 is black)
Rule #1 for home hair clipping; ALWAYS have a spare clipper in reserve for that day when your clippers fail mid cut..... (£10 corded clippers from Tesco are ideal).
My hatteker is stuck on "charge mode" even if it's not charging. This means I have the red charge led always on, and as it thinks it's charging, it doesn't start... Tried 2 different batteries so I think the problem is with the machine itself. Any ideas?
Thanks for the review. The 0.5-2.5mm adjustment - which is the shortest cut please? I can't work out whether it's the size of the blade showing or the amount it is reduced by. Thanks
Hi David, did you follow a youtube video when you first cut your hair, if so, which one please? Do you normally cut your hair yourself? It looks very neat.
I didn’t watch any videos, just put the longest guard on the clippers and ran them over my head, front to top, then sides to top and back to top. Made sure I went all over the top so no tufty bits! Then a smaller blade to go round my ears and back of the neck. Just done by feel, my head in the shower cubicle to catch the hair!
Hey David! I bought this and it’s really well done. But I want to know how to use the 3-8 mm guide. When I use it over the beard trimmer, it doesn’t cut anything for me. When I put it over the haircut trimmer, it barely fits and also doesn’t cut anything. How do I properly use it!?
I would say if these are like regular clippers/trimmers you want to keep oiled so they dont rust.. With that being said it also depends on how much you use your Clippers.. I got some wireless Clippers 3 christmas' ago never used them but now this christmas I got these and now I'm intrigued!!
I had these in my Amazon basket but reading the 40-odd 1* reviews saying either they arrive used or the power button fails has put me off. I've liked the video though, good work 👍
Ah but how many 4* or above reviews were there?! All I can say is that they arrived new for me (a seller issue rather than the product in that case; I got mine from Amazon themselves) and the power button is OK so far...
One of these just arrived from Amazon. Giving it a charge and I will start hacking this afternoon. This may spell the end of visits to the barbers - who knows?
@@DavidExpertTV My hair got really long, and for a few minutes I thought I was going to end up in a mess. But no. It all evened out just like yours did. And I only managed to drag the battery down to 90%. I think I may have to find another use for the spare battery. So I'm going to say this thing is a total success.
This post gives "Cruising the Cut" a WHOLE different meaning!

Haha I vaguely remember sending in (or at least considering it) an audition tape to QVC a long, long time ago. Glad they're working well for you.
Great basic review without telling your audience whats accessories are needed for trimming beard, you've done a hair clippers review that's it. 👍
Yes indeed. Hence the title "hair clippers review" 🤣

I'm convinced David. Your haircut looks fine. Just ordered mine.
My Phillips clippers also have the same figure 8 connector, so I wonder if it is standard, just within the clipper industry?
Oh! Maybe, I hadn't thought of that. It doesn't seem to be the same as the 8-shaped lead you get on the end of electricals such as hifi gear etc
I have the Hatteker RFC 692. It has the non-proprietary micro USB

I buoght 1 for 4 years ago. it is very good still work very well. Right now price went up.
I think these may be just what I've been looking for to manicure my thinning Silver locks.
David, you're correct. I discovered that the outlet that I was charging the clipper at had turned itself off.
Excellent video. For anyone's information, these are now on a limited time deal on Amazon UK at about £31.
That's a bargain! Get them here: geni.us/DE_HattekerClippers
@@DavidExpertTV The limited time deal isn't exactly the same model as you purchased David. I went with your choice.
The price seems to have gone back up again. The link should take you to the ones I ordered.
I received mine, but different company(Surker) same model RFC-690. It has good power, has smaller guards like 1 & 2 mm, and easy to clean

Haha good point!
Thank you for the video very helpful! I have been looking at these today on Amazon.
£25 at Amazon now on Black Friday deal
ho il tagliacapelli che è bloccato....come si sblocca? Ho un lucchetto chiuso sul mdisplay e lampeggia 188

Crikey, no idea, sorry. That’s one for the manufacturer, I think
@@DavidExpertTV I'd contact them if they had an email address. All I can find on their site is an actual physical address.
You can unscrew the battery, try & reinsert it.
If not call the manufacturer.
Were you able to fix it? I’m dealing with the same issue

It’s how short it will cut your hair so 0.5 being closer and 2.5 further for some what longer
Yay at last another video From David Cruisingthecut-vandemonium-TubeShooterMag Johns :)
Got mine today and it looks nice. From nc usa thanks for the review.
How do you receive amazon packages at a narrow boat?

DavidExpertTV great resource you’ve created! Somehow I’ve read the whole thing without even noticing!

why not a video of a hair cut.
I have the RFC-692 model. How can I tell if the clipper is really charging? There's no indicator.
I'm puzzled because that model should have a display on the front panel which shows state of charge..?
I want to know where I can order spare batteries from. Apparently there's no direct website.
Floyd Banks
There’s 2 already, how many do you really need?
this isn't a real brand, just a chinese factory rebranding stuff. you won't find any website
Have the same, amazing product.
Damn at first i thought i was watching a documentary from discovery channel…
Virtually indistinguishable, I agree

Good question! I have not used that one though so cannot advise, sorry.
Good explanation sir.. Thank you..
Good job! 👍
Excellent, but would love to see the actual haircut being done for extra guidance.
Fair point. I confess I didn’t think of doing the review until afterwards.
Should I use the provided oil?
Is it necessary or optional?
I never have

Haha it was chaotic and rather messy!

You sound like a bbc news presenter
I used to read the news on commercial and BBC radio.

Let me know how you get on! I certainly don’t intend doing any more trips to the barbers, I’ll save myself a packet.
