I've been cutting my own hair for about 7 years now and I always feel like I need to re-watch tutorials for a refresher when I'm planning on a deep fade. Good tips, very well explained.
Appreciate the feedback bro!
I was spending $60-$70 a month on hair cuts! I’ve been saving over $720 a year! Fucked myself up a couple times but it was worth it.
Nice! Happy for you
@@FADEDCULTURE thank you bro. I come back to this video occasionally to further my skills. Be safe 🙏🏽
@@FADEDCULTUREhey Sergio I had a question bro! I cut my first guide line with the trimmer & the top of my head is an opened guard number 8! How many guide lines should I cut in between & what sizes? I would like to continue using the trimmer as my first one but it’s hard to fade it all the way to an 8
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh
I just started cutting my own hair tonight. Man i got way more appreciation for barbers and respect for those who can almost effortlessly cut their own hair in less than 45min. I started at 7:10-finished at 10🤣 i came into it with all the tools thinking it was gon be quick. Them angles had me mad asl. Tryna figure out the motions was drivin me crazy. Almost called my barber for an emergency cut.
My tips: have bright lighting, practice the motions with the safety guard FIRST, clear your area, and have a clear schedule.
lol yeah man it takes time! It definitely clear your schedule
I've watched your self-cut tutorials before, and each time I watch them I learn something new. I've started cutting my own hair during the 2020 pandemic and it's all thanks to you Sergio.
Change ur name you quite literally attached the mark of the beast to ur image
@@FreeTheWrld God bless you

Sergio, you are the man! Over here in the UK I’ve always wanted to be a barber but left it too late. Then during lockdown I had to start cutting my own hair. Thanks to you and Faded Culture tutorials, I now cut my own hair all the time, saving me £25 every 2 weeks. You are not only the best barber I’ve seen, but the way you explain every step is amazing. Thank you man
Awsome bro 🏴
What you shave the top with??
@@GlenAdamson101 lawnmower
I been cutting my hair for over a year now since COVID happened I want to say for about 20 months. I’m saving 600$ a year 😎
Big savings for sure 🏴
Same story
Sameeeeee
600$ wtf kind of barber you go to you getting ripped lol
@@Lawand how much you pay for a cut?
literally started cutting my hair like a week ago, I’m loving it so far. Noones gonna be more invested in your hair than you yourself!
Tip* buy yourself a normal mirror AND a 360 mirror. Face the normal mirror and use the 360 mirror to view back and sides. works perfect for me.
I tried today small cut but man that shit was hard 😂 mirror had me fuvkwd up, so I switch hands?? Or like idkk I'ma keep watching videos
@@thaguy7732bro I feel u😂
ever since i learned to cut my hair, fade my beard, clean up the moustache and eyebrows, i basically give myself a 40 dollar haircut every weekend.
More like $100
Your videos have helped me a ton in self-cutting my own hair. I have even been doing it for some of my classmates that need haircuts. Can't thank you enough bro love the content.
Awsome man! Much love 🏴
I learn from faded culture how to do my own skin fade he’s the best barber ever. Now I don’t go to barber no more lol my fades looking good still mastering it thanks sergio 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No problem bro 🙏🏽
Along with other videos on this subject I've seen, this being the one I come back to the most, I finally cut my hair for the first time just now. Man it came out so clean, I actually did really good for my first time! I wanna thank you bro, you and others that dedicate your time showing people how to master this craft. I just got a massive confidence boost and have achieved one of my milestones in learning how to cut my hair. Respect brotha
I really appreciate this channel because I feel like many would shy away from teaching how to cut your own hair. Personally I made the decision to just buzz cut my hair from now on to save money and this is no offense to barbers but anything over 30 for a haircut is too much. I will still go to one if necessary but I will try not to. Once again thank you for these tutorials 💯💯💯
Well done sir! 💯
I've been cutting my own hair for 20yrs.
Never made the vid bc I didn't want to deter from the shops money
A couple tips to accent this very well put together video..
If u only have a basic set. Learning the flick can get ur blends.
Two or 3 mirrors in the back will prevent any visual obstruction the clipper or hand may impose (but one is enough with some skill)
If the mirror effect is messing u up sloww down (I used to close my eyes for a sec to regain my bearings)
If ur nervous start low on the head to practice ur blends u can always remove more hair but it's kinda hard to put it back on.
GG
You make it look easy, Sergio! Experience and practice equals great results. Bravo my friend.
Thank you bro 🙏🏽

Man, I graduated from Cosmetology/Barber School and became licensed in 1999.. Have been doing my thing every since. BUT--I must say, after many continuing education courses, I've NEVER had things explained as well as you have in this tutorial. Thank you. Have you considered teaching, if you're not all ready?
Don’t do this unless y’all already know the machines, i just left myself bald asf
LOL Thanks for the heads up!

sergio you are a real piece of work
Am I ugly?
Bro I’ve been cutting my own hair since I was in 10th grade in 2010. And I gotta say, I just followed your instructions at this very moment, and I can’t stop smiling at how well it came out!
Thanks again G! Keep up the good work
Glad I could help
I've been cutting my hair since my dad stopped doing it. And every single time I think "Next time I'll go to a barber" lol
Lol it be like that man
I'm from the UK. Since covid I've cut my own bald fade. With help from yourself. Followed you on twitter. Sergio your a boss 💪
One love from Sénégal 🇸🇳 🙏🏾✊🏾❤️
Thank you so much for your videos I'm only new to youtubers but since what I've seen I thought youtubers were people watching people make fools of themselves thats why I never watched UA-cam because all I see my kids watch are people trying to be comedians but you have to be the most realistic and genuine person I've seen and I love your artwork especially for me personally needed to learn as a beginner to cut my own hair and my kids this is truly a revelation bless up my mann
Y’all make my day faded culture! From your biggest fan James 👋
Was cutting my hair for bout 8 months now but after watching this n trying it I just up my cutting game.
This is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do lol. It's so difficult but I feel like with enough practice it's possible. Also your tattoos are fire!
Bro I have a good fade on one side and a wack job on the other side. It’ll take tons of practice and a lot of confidence to walk with this haircut 😂
@@sicarius.m1 Hehehe
I just ordered the Novah clipper combo and an electric razor like the one you showed. Thank you for the tutorial videos you've taught me alot.along. Getting the 360 mirror with led lights and I need the fade guard head strap so I can keep it str8. Keep up the good work you and your brothers.
Great tutorial Bayron your self cut videos helped me save money at the barbershop and now mastering the fade on my own head keep up the great work
ive been self cutting for almost 6yrs n i gotta say,dat feels healing
Tried this today and it turned out great! Was quite difficult fading the back but definitely will improve over time hopefully... Thanks a lot bro you da man!
Great to hear! You got this 🤞🏽🏴
The back is definitely the hardest I will try to practice the maneuvers before I commit to doing it
@@sicarius.m1 practise makes perfect bro, since my comment I have faded my hair 2 more times... huge improvement.
Thanks bro helped a lot. I was use to giving myself a 3 open and high fade. Now I can grow my hair out. Appreciate it.

Jaja qué tranquilidad hermano! 👏🔥🇪🇨
Clean Work 👌🏽 A lot of Barbers cannot cut there own hair, only a few can. Those are usually the better Barbers ✂️❤️💈

Bravo frate, te salut din România, București!
Been trimming myself for a while, no where close to perfection. Your videos are motivation to perfection keep them coming bro
This fade is the 💣
Good stuff bro. Like how you explain what you doing and why you doing it. Thanks for making these videos fr.
Que grande eres mi hermano , it looks so easy but is not.
For sure it needs practice.
The best thing I ever did during Covid was learning how to cut my hair💯💯it's has save me a lot of money
Thank you for making these videos. I learned a lot from you. I would like to hear your opinion on the new babyliss fx3 trimmers. Should I buy it or go for the goldfx? I’m not a barber, I just do my own fade like yours and give some family members a haircut.
Hey bro thank you so much for every step and detailed instructions I’ve looked up so much videos but everyone tends to skip and not show the full blending. I really appreciate it this gives me confidence to cut my own hair now.
Glad I could help
It is good to trim yourself and more when you are a good barber. I ADMIRE YOU
Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks to you, I learned how to cut my hair. You are the only one on UA-cam. Greetings from Turkey.
Would you say that lighting is probably the most crucial part to getting a good fade? Also are there any specific lights/ring lights that you recommend and how many would you recommend?
Yes you def need good lighting, what I actually use is a little headlight since I don’t really want to waste money rn but a lot of barbers do use ring lights. I’ve seen all the barbers that I’ve gone to they use only one ring light
1-2 ring lights is enough
Ring lights are also very bright !
Lighting is crucial. It has to be right! I’m still trying to figure it out since I cut from home. I feel that when the lighting is too bright, the fade looks better then what it really is. It’s either that or I have bad eyes lol. That’s just my opinion. Any input faded culture?
Lighting is a big factor in cutting hair. I see a lot of barbers using ring lights but for me honestly I’ve never liked them. I just use regular fluorescent lights the Bar bulb ones but I recommend you setting up a haircut on an off day just to play with lighting positions to see which feels most comfortable for your eyes.
bro that tutorial is sooo sick and helpfull, i came across watching dozens of vids but this one helped me allot
Damn you make it look super easy bro me being a barber I’ve been wanting to cut my own hair but nervous to mess myself up lol 😂
You gotta be willing to mess up bro. Lol 😂
Bro honestly the first couple gonna be rough that’s just how it is but after that u won’t ever need to go to a barber again so it’s worth it imo
Bro I'm over here using a $40 Walgreens Phillips Norelco all-in-one and my fades and beard shaves come out sick bro. Shout out to Phillips for affordable durable shaving systems.
Thanks for this! About to place my order, they've been sitting in my cart too long. This sealed the deal for me. Appreciate you.
I’ve tried this a couple of times, but I’ve failed 😩 I think because my hair isn’t as dark, it’s much harder to see the guide lines, then I forget where the lines originally were… and it ends up being a mess with lines all over the place 😒
Lol I’m sorry, I know how frustrating it can be but with time you’ll just know where the guidelines are even if you don’t see them that clear
Sergio, there wasn't anything in the video I didn't like... you're absolutely phenomenal with your amazing technique... 👏👍👌
Wish I found out about the discount before I bought these😑
I have been cutting my hair since 2011 i have tried fades several time likebut it never uses to come this perfect & i didn't know the exact technique how to do it as well using the clipper mounts, & well today I'm goona try your technique today brother😎
Good bye $35 haircuts
It’s $50 now
Solid tutorial, I also like too watch a how too vid before i tighten up the fade , this is one I saved , bc this guy here, is a “how too” tighten up ur fade, on the spot MONEY …Thx ur a beast
If I attempted to do this, I'd wind up with an Afro and I don't even have long hair.
I was debating whether to buy these clippers to start my barbering journey but after I seen you use them I made my choice immediately l, I had seen a video of yours earlier in the week and automatically I was like let’s go hell yeah
are they good?
@@BlendzByJose they are good if you only going to cut one or two cuts a day they started getting hot after like 20 minutes but they cut real good!
@@Bp.Raider17 thanks man!
@@Bp.Raider17 is it still working well with u I saw a lot of reviews saying it malfunctions?
I did a review on them, they are awesome people complaining about them getting hot are not using cool care. My only gripe is that the blades they come with are mediocre after replacing then they are truly awesome.
Best self cut video i found so far gives me more confidence
This is the best tutorial I’ve watched so far 💪🏾💪🏾. Thanks bro
This is the best self cut tutorial ever! Thank you

Awesome video. That's exactly how I do my fade. I've gotten really good at it and I enjoy it. Saves me so much time and money. Then I just try to keep up on it as often as possible and it's really easy. I love a clean fade! Who doesn't!? 😊

I watched your vid, and I like it. I have everything I need to get started. I am nervous as hell, though. I am so damn picky. I've been paying $40 a week for YEARS to get a fade, and I'm over it.
