Gen Z is looking to the past because they're the first generation that truly has the technology to do so in an authentic way, as if they were living in the 90's.
@@curiositycloset2359 I mean that past shows like Friends are more readily accessible than ever on Netflix and the like. You don't even have to go out and buy the DVD now!
Young people have been doing it for a while as the Internet has been going strong for 25 years. Though I would argue that the authentic way to watch a TV show is an episode a week. We didn't get to binge watch stuff the first time round.
It’s 30 years already? Peak. It may sound off topic but I chanced on this cool translator that does everything and more of what a translator should have, name is Immersive Translate and one thing that can really help is it’s new feature, which lets you create a custom AI expert for translating anything. Thank me later, it's gold.
RIP Matt Perry. He shouldn't be missing this it's so sad. Friends was the background to my teens and twenties. I still am in touch with all the group of friends who I watched Friends with week in week out minus a couple who have passed and 1 or 2 who have drifted from the group, but the core friends are still the same.
Nope probably not even close to being the most popular after all the last episode of M*A*S*H in the 70s was said to have been watched by 40 per cent of the homes in America or 90 million people.
@@CricketEnglandRotten Tomatoes has it at #8, IMDB at #2. Seinfeld is probably the highest rated overall…but this was the one I grew up with, nothing was anywhere near as popular as it. It’s still on tv every single day in the uk
@@CricketEnglandlol No it’s is by definition the most popular since it has transcended generations and is completely worldwide. Friends is known in Africa, the Middle East, South America, Asia etc Seinfeld and MASh are not.
I think this show came at the right time as a baby boomer. My transition from living in a flat, buying a house, & starting a young family is tied to the relationships formed in my early to mid-twenties. It's a great series. 🕊️🕊️ Rest easy matt❤️🕊️🕊️
Because it's a realistic portrayal of how most white people would only hang around with other white people even in a city as diverse as NYC. White people love that and can relate so much to that.
The final episode was actually shown in Times Square in New York, with crowds watching. No other show has ever had this. We couldn't wait for the weekly episodes.
Never got into it. Never understood it and often wondered what the audience were laughing at. American comedy often isnt very good. The truth is: You cannot beat Great British Comedies of the past. Open All Hours, Only Fools and Horses, Keeping Up Appearances, Blackadder, Dads Army, Fawlty Towers, One Foot in the Grave, Laurel & Hardy, Steptoe and Son, Vicar of Dibley, The Royle Family, Little Britain, Come Fly With Me, Porriage, Mr Bean, to name a few.
You mean the Gen X-er’s?!! As all the actors are Gen-Xer’s… not Gen Z’s although the genre maybe directed to that “Z” group… it actually hit home to both “Gens”…. Why does the media forget about the GenerationX??? It’s very strange. We do exist.
What journalist talk about it without the overdose of one of the friends who didn't love his work enough? A journalist paid by warner bros? Bbc high journalism meaning you gotta be high to call it journalism
I re-watched the entire series a couple years ago, and found it to be degenerate. I didn't see that with open eyes at the time, I guess I was too young.
Of course they can be. Plenty of numpties vote for far-right parties due to their empire or Nazi sympathies, even though they were not even born at the time.
"No one could understand how they managed to live where they were" it was litterally a plot point that it was in her grandmars name.
It’s like they are those squatters in NY that don’t pay their rent.
Did that include Joey & Chandler’s apartment?

Still sad about Perry's death. The anniversary would've been complete with him.
Although this is not newsworthy, I applaud the quirky headline being a direct reference to the show itself lol

I love Friends! It's my all-time favorite show!
