What a fabulous ingredient. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Definitely piqued my interest.
❤😊❤
Thank you for doing this video. Bakuchiol has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. It’s also called Babchi in Hindi and it’s even prescribed for vitiligo in Indian medicine. My mom had Vitiligo and the dermatologists told her there’s no cure. (She’s a radiologist herself.) But one of the Ayurvedic practitioners asked her to consume babchi and her vitiligo disappeared. I’ve started using Bakuchiol in the morning and it’s made my melasma so much better in two months.
❤️️❤️️❤️️
Loved your comment! Fellow Indian here! Love this simpler slower version of retinol!!
How do you consume it? As a tea?
What's the name of product you using bakuchiol
Name of the product
When you’re so early the number of views doesn’t have ‘K’! I’ve just opened my first Bakuchiol serum by Bybi yesterday, so excited!
It was my first thought when I heard of B oil, to buy it from ByBi. I use their CBD oil and absolutely love it.
Very interesting and it would be great to have this in larger amounts in serums etc for those of us with sensitive skin who struggle with tret etc but need the help at a certain age.
Such an in-depth, informative video. Thank you so much!
Very informative content Dr Sam
Thank you Sam
Ive just bought my first bottle, Im going to take it internally, and use it as a facial oil.
Hi :) How did you get on with the bakuchiol? Did it improve your skin? Cheers ^_^
Im using the typologie 1% bakuchiol AM and PM and it's giving me smoother looking skin since I tried it but .. being 22 and having acne prone skin, I just hope the formula in this brand is a good friend
Sorry this is unrelated but Dr Sam, please could you do a video explaining moisturisers and how to know if we're using too much or too little? I've been reading a lot online (would never take as gospel but still) about doctors advising that using too much can cause clogged pores etc, or even that the vast majority of us shouldn't use moisturiser! Just wondered if you could dispel or confirm that in a video? Is it true that overusing it can cause clogging as a result of the skin barrier becoming weakened and should we re-train skin to get used to a minimal amount? X
Great video! I would love to know some efficient products on the market that you recommend with Bakuchiol
Biossance’s Phyto-Retinol Serum! Love it
This antioxidant appears to have similar benefits to niacinamide. What is the difference in terms of efficacy for mature, dry skin?
What percentage is needed for best results? How does one evaluate the different brands on the market ?
Yes, please!
I like paulas choice.
Hi Dr Sam i am a mature lady, mid sixties taken fairly good care of my skin, if I were to choose one product ( apart from SPF) from your range what would it be? What is the most potent product for non sensitive skin am or pm or both... thank you ... ps love your SPF
I am thinking of adding bakuchiol or azaleic acid to my moring routine. I already use vitamin c & niacinamide. How many serums are too many? How do I determine which of the 2 I should add?
Hi Dr. Bunting - I have read mixed opinions about using bakuchiol during pregnancy. What do you advise?
Is it necessary to use a spf with bakuchiol? And is it safe for fungal acne? Thank you doctor! 😍🥰💖
Could I use this on the nights I don’t use tretinoin? And can I use it after copper peptides?
Thank you for you information,i hace a cuestión i use bakuchiol ,niacinamida, and hyluronic acid, wish one its first, than you!!
At 2:00 did you mean DHT instead of DHA? Great, informative video by the way!
To me, you are just as elegant and stunning as Dr. Ellen Marmur, love your knowledge and way of speech ❤ thank you for all the beneficial tips you give us! I am wondering if your products ship to Hungary?
We ship worldwide via drsambunting.com 😊
Please review on the derma co products
ias it is in the nightly serum which i use is there enough in there to get benefits ?
Hello, is this safe to use in the periorbital area?
I like all your videos that I have seen, I am a skincare formulator, I like formulating natural or natural derived products for my own use at the moment. My question is if I am using an oil serum with bakuchiol, where does is come in the morning routine? Is it before my SPF product, don’t worry I am not making this product for now, or is it better layered before my sunscreen, I do understand that my sunscreen product is better to stay on top of my skin to serve its purpose. Thank you in advance🌹.
Please create an azelaic acid and bakuchiol serum! :)
Her nightly serum does contain both ingredients.
Thanks for the video!! Is this safe for pregnancy? Looking for Tret alternative
I just started using a very low beginner Retinol every other night. Can I add this into my morning routine with my Vitamin C? Thank you :-)
no retinol should not be used during day light .if you are using it at night ,must use spf in moroning
Whats the best bakuchoil to buy?
Can i use vitamin C serum with azelaic acid cream 20%???
Yay my PC 0.3% Retinol has 2% Bakuchiol 😍
Have you experienced any peeling with it due to having Retinol in it?
@@theresahenson3778 I did not experienced any peeling at all but also I've been using granactive retinoid, azaleic acid and niacinamide (Flawless Nightly) for 3-4 months before using PC 0.3% retinol and after finishing the bottle I went 0.06% Retinaldehyde. Finished the bottled again and now I am using Tretinoin 0.025% 😁
Dr sam which bakuchiol brand do u recommend?????
Since it helps calm down the skin with its anti inflammatory effects, it doesn’t cause purging before healing like retinols right?
the answer is in the video, she already said it
can Bakuchiol be used together with peptides?
Please suggest products. What do you think about Byoma rich moisturizer with bakuchiol. Thank you.
Is bakuchioil safe for someone who have fungal acne?
Can you recommend an affordable, fragrance-free, alcohol & witch hazel free, hydrating face mist? I am looking for one with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe, green tea, cucumber, chamomile etc.
Purito ( K beauty product) toner is fantastic. It has green tea and other "magic"🙂
Thank you for this informative video. can you please help me with this question, I heard that Bakuchiol can increase chances of breast cancer, is that true????
Can you recommend a serum for sensitive skin? If possible Oil free?
So in what order should it be applied in our morning routine. Vitamin C, Azelaic acid , then Bakuchiol?
Great question!
doesnt matter
Yes in that order.
Can we apply both together at one time ya??
@drsambunting hi... have you seen any of Dr. Vanita's videos, she claims that glycolic acid, lactic acid and aha/bha peel are not good for colored skin tones like myself, I am of Asian decent... can I ask what your opinion on that is? Ty!
She did NOT say that
She said people of color should use lower percentages
Nice video, what do you think about bidens pilosa?
Can I use it with Ordinary Alpha Arbutin?
Dr. Sam I am using tretinoin 1% (six nights a week). Is there any benefit (or harm!) to using Bakuchiol in the am?
Wondering the same thing!
I’d love if she’d address this as well
Is it safe to use during pregnancy?
Could you please clarify the percentage? thank you.
Dr. Bunting can you use Bakuchiol in the AM with L-Ascorbic Acid?
I love the Herbivore Bakuchiol serum, but they’ve discontinued it. 😩 I loved it because I could use it morning and night on both my retinol and nonretinol days.
It’s up on their website currently.
It's found that their bakuchiol serum actually didn't include bakuchiol 😑 Perhaps they reformulated to include it so it's available now? Idk...
Does this mean we can look forward to a
Dr Sam’s Morning / Daily Serum soon 👀
Stay tuned! 😉❤️️
Dr Sam Bunting very exciting, will do and thank you! Also, if you’re ever considering developing a moisturising tinted (perhaps all mineral) SPF (perhaps in light, medium and deeper tones), I’m sure we’d all go wild 😀
Can I still use Retin A at night with this oil?
Dr. Alexis Stephen says you can.
I tried a 1% Bakuchiol product tonight for the first time after cleansing and before moisturising. My skin went quite red & felt hot. Is this normal? I’ve never used a product like this before. I have combination skin and get small breakouts on my jawline/lower cheeks occasionally.
Hey! I applied the Bakuchiol serum today for the first time and felt the same as you ...not sure whether to continue using it or should I stop immediately. Do share your experience plz.
@@ysh336 1% is the highest percentage. Find a product with 0.5 to start with. I've built up my retinol usage over the course of the last 10 months so I can tolerate it. Start with lower strength and slowly build up. Nothing to be worried about. It's waaaaay more gentle than even the lowest percentage of over-the-counter retinol. Hope this helps
@@jasminateodorovic1248 Thanks Jasmina for responding ! ☺️
What products with bakuchiol do you recommend?
The Nightly serum from Dr.Sam contains Bakuchiol 🙂
I’d like to know the recommendations for am use
@@nanavillamisaa4072 Dr Sams Brightly (morning) serum also has Bakuchiol in it :-)

Hello, I’m pregnant and have been using bakuchiol as an alternative to retinol. Thought it was safe then recently read that it is an androgen receptor inhibitor- which could’ve been bad if I was expecting a boy not sure what effect this might have on a female baby. Do you consider this safe for pregnancy?
1. Both men and women have androgens.
2. It would be a potential issue only if were able to enter the foetal circulation.
Anita Cairns so it doesn’t enter fetal circulation? I guess there’s nothing conclusory on that yet. Anyway I’ve continued to use up the product I have but I won’t be purchasing it in the future just because it’s not nearly as effective as retinol
Lolo Future Maybe contact your doctor just to be safe? 😊
Can it be used with Vitamin C?
Yes! ❤️️
What products that contain bakuchiol would you recommend? Thanks
Hi, The Inkey List has a good one
Same question I have!
@@danielm872 I've not seen great reviews on the inkey list one trying to find something with this bakuchoil now 😀
Can you recommend a brand pleaseeee

@@shaylynprice1695 This looks really good as it is high up on the ingredient list but it is not cheap and great if you live in the US (from Beautylish) but very expensive shipping to the UK sadly.
Hi Dr thank you so much for your informative videos, could you please do a video on hair post chemotherapy, I am 8 years post chemotherapy and my hear never grew back the same thickness it used to be almost 20 percent came back is it a side effect of chemo? I was always told your hair grows back curly mine did not change in texture just super fine. Would really appreciate a video and a haircare routine
I am dealing with the same thing! 7 years post chemo and my formerly thick super curly hair grew back just sort of wavy and super thin. I would love to know how to improve thickness again.
I think in America dermatology includes hair, but I'm not sure it does in the UK x
mybabysaidtome it does! Derms look after hair here too
Dr Bunting, Can you use products with Bakuchiol if you are having IPL treatment on the face?
Is this ingredient safe for breastfeeding mama?
she just said is natural molecule from the plant, so what do you think?
Hiii Beauty ❤️❤️❤️
You make it sound so good but there has been very little research on bakuchiol.
Maybe she understands the mechanism of action of the actual compounds contained in the substance.
Mark Pritchard Personally I find it beautiful on my skin but I suspect that in the short term it is the Squalane oil that suits me so well. Being a Retinol alternative is its USP for those who can't tolerate Retinol. Anyway this is the write up that sold it to me initially:
What does it do:
Bakuchiol is a plant derived, natural alternative to vitamin A. Derived from the seeds of the Ayurvedic plant, Psoralea corylifolia, Bakuchiol has been found to enhance collagen production, provide antioxidant protection and help calm inflammation, often the cause of acne and rosacea. It also helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of pigmentation and photo-damage and increase the skins elasticity and firmness, while sealing in hydration. All without causing irritation on the skin such as peeling, dryness and sensitivity associated with retinol.
Garden of Wisdom’s Bakuchiol Serum is teamed with the skin softening properties of pure Squalane Oil to deliver rejuvenated, plumper, softer and smoother skin
The Science:
Sytenol® A, Bakuchiol Oil, represents the gold standard and is REACH registered through extensive safety testing and performance. This high purity and quality oil has been the subject of various clinical studies.
A study carried out by Syntheon using 0.5% Sytenol® A, Bakuchiol Oil, showed a significant improvement in lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, elasticity, firmness and photo-damage without irritation on the skin such as peeling, dryness and sensitivity associated with retinol.
Super Bakuchiol Serum, unlike most other Bakuchiol or Babchi Oils, contains 100% well-defined 1% Bakuchiol Oil without any photosensitisers often found in many other Bakuchiol products.
@@hansiesma16 It's a promising ingredient but there needs to be a lot more scientific studies. But hey if people find it works for them that's great! 😊
@@hansiesma16 This is very reassuring .. thank you for the info.:-)
@@ellay4514 Well I can give you a further update. I started using A313 (Retinol) well over a year ago. So much oil usage with the Bakuchiol, and others, was creating carnage with my clothes, bed sheets and hair that constantly needed washing and so I was tiring of the regime I had embarked on/invested in. I decided to look for an easier regime and eventually decided to see if I could tolerate Retinol. It took me 8 months before I had built up tolerance of Retinol so that I could use it every other night. I started off with buffering and once a week usage, then twice a week for a number of months and so forth.
I didn't experience this improvement with Bakuchiol but I most certainly have with Retinol: a significant improvement in pigmentation, elasticity, firmness and photo damage. So much that Retinol, Cerave healing ointment and SensiBiafine are my entire facial regime now.
I'm not telling you Bakuchiol is no good; just that I've replaced it with something that benefits my 53 year old skin more.
Is it safe to use for pregnant?
Dr. Sam: I have recently started using Emepelle serum and night cream. I was unable to find any instructions regarding the adding of other serums and Retin A along with Emepelle. Can you please tell me if I can add or not. Thanking you in advance!
❤
I use tretenoine 0.1% at night ...would it be beneficial/safe to add a Bakuchiol serum in the morning?
Sundara Daya I was thinking it would be nice to use bakuchiol on nights I don’t use tretnoin. Tretinoin is great, but causes me irritation if I use it nightly.
Can you use while pregnant?
Wondering the same thing
Does it play well with Vitamin C in the morning??
It does! 😊
Mam is it safe in pregnancy??
It is! 😊
I wouldn't risk it.
In the video she said its a 5alpha reductase inhibitor. DHT blockers can cause birth defects.
Loris I just asked a question about this. I’ve been using this in pregnancy because it was touted as a safe alternative to retinol. Then I heard it’s an androgen receptor inhibitor - sounds like what you’re saying- now I’m scared. 😱 will stop using it to be safe
Do we need a prescription to acquire it?
no
you don't 🙂❤
Anyone used Bakuchiol more than few months and what kind of results you got?
We would recommend joining our Facebook Group and sharing your query with other members of the community, who may be able to share their experiences with Bakuchiol. Join our skincare community here! bit.ly/2Dx9f7s 😊❤️
DHT not DHA
I use your Nightly serum at night and in some mornings I use the Bakuchiol of theInkyList 🙂

Is the inkey list a good one I'm now currently shopping for this bakuchoil as ive been using the ordinary retinol with squalane for passed month but i only use it once a week to be safe im wondering if the inkey list bakuchoil would be better and safer for my skin to use more regularly
