Can you please tell that tretinoin can cause hair fall or not ??? And if it does then what to do for it??? Cause I'm suffering from hair fall since I started my tretinoin from 2 months.. 😭😭
Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for your videos! Just letting you know the link to the first attached video has expired..is it possible for you to re-attach it please? 🌷
My dermatologist put tretinoin on the back of one hand for years. He left the other alone for comparison sakes to show his patients. He retired at 82. The hand he'd treated with tretinoin was smooth and unwrinkled.
My skin was at its worst from age 22-26. Flawless for the entirety of high school and college. But alot of that I attribute being on bc pills and I started tret at 12 and stopped unfortunately before I started college
@@stefanhenratter7196more like the botox she’s failing to disclose. Her eyebrows literally do not move except for a couple of struggling unnatural twitches.
The fact that a 40 year old has younger looking skin than me (at 20 years old) is insane. It also means I need to up my skincare game while I still have time lol
@@Deep_ltd004 Yeah I just started a moisturizer with retinal in it (goldbond age renew retinal moisturizer) and I’ve seen a difference already! I don’t think I’ll use a concentrated version yet, as I’m still young
Ladies, yes tretinoin is awesome. But please know that the woman on this video with the flawless skin has done more than just use that cream. She has spoken for 11mins on this video, and has not once moved any portion of her forehead. and there is nothing wrong with caring for your skin, but its misleading to guide women into using one thing, instead of being transparent about everything that she has done.
Excatly!. So many of us we don't have the money to buy so many products. E.g im from Fiji and it costs a fortune here. So the least one can do os be honest with us becsuse we save up and sacrifice to buy these products.
Hi there! I don't know this youtuber well, so I wouldn't know about other things she may have had done, but I did want to say it's possible to have no forehead wrinkles without botox. From a young age didn't use my forehead muscles (wasn't intentional, I just wasn't very expressive up there) and so now in my older age it *looks* like I have gotten botox because probably atrophy over the years of non-use. if I try really hard I can get some movement but it's pretty weak. I'm sure people will assume it from time to time that I've done botox, and that's fine, just thought it was worth mentioning that this is a thing. More likely than not she has, just isn't a guaranteed thing is all. Totally agree with your point that influencers often have more done than they let on which can distort our own self image of whats possible with what products.
@abby Loe. Tretinoin prescription from doctor only. It is good. If you do not want wrinkles use that at night with moisturizer, sandwich effect of course for beginners. During the day use Argiriline and Matrixyl from the ordinary. Or Buffet with copper peptides 1% from the ordinary. Argiriline tightens skins. The buffet with copper peptides takes longer but I find it better as it has so many other good ingredients in it for the skin. But tretinoin prescription does work. Start off with 0.25mg first. After your ski can adapt to it then only switch to higher concentration. Also a time lasts long because you only use pea size amount at night. You must apply properly or you will damage your skin: use sandwich method. First moisturizer then retain A then moisturizer again for first time users at night 2 hours before bedtime. In the morning you must wear sunscreen spf 50. Regina A attracts sun which will damage your skin. The next best to retain A which is a prescription, would be retinaldehyde, it is less irritating on the skin, this is over the counter, but will take longer to see results. Hope that helps.
I just assumed it was because East Asians don’t really start getting wrinkles until their late 50s. Hyperpigmentation comes much earlier for them tho, which it looks like she’s prevented pretty well.
My insurance allows me two 45g tubes per month at 0.05%. I literally apply Tretinoin all over my body every three days followed with an ultra rich water based moisturizer and I always use SPF 30+. As a guy, I get tons of compliments on my skin especially my face, neck, chest and arms. After one year of doing this during the lockdown, my skin transformation is just something you have to see. My skin tone is one solid color all over my body, smooth, dewy, firm, no lines or wrinkles and microscopic pores. I don't waste my money on any fancy expensive creams or serums. Just Tretinoin, SPF lotion, gentle cleanser and a thick water based moisturizer. I'm hooked on this stuff because it truly does EXACTLY what it says it will do and more!...

@@simranjitkaur3682 I "once" had an issue with acne when I was a teen, so it was on file that I had Acne Vulgaris, when it wasn't really that bad. I told my physician that I was getting flare ups again (adult acne) while talking to him over the phone, so he just called it in for me. The insurance company looked at the diagnosis code for Acne Vulgaris (L70.0) and that qualified me for insurance coverage with larger tubes, twice a month to treat the face, neck, chest, back and arms. So now I just use it every 3 days all over my body, which does prevent any breakouts but also does a whole lot more, for having great skin all over. Hope this helps!
The peeling is a good thing. Like a chemical peel. Removing the damaged, bumpy, discolored layers of skin over time smothes the skin and lessens the appearance of dark spots.
I just turned 30 and I've been using tretinoin on and off for about 6 years now. It's amazing, I'm at the point where I don't get the flakiness anymore and I can skip a day or two and it doesn't affect my results.
Can I just use tretinoin without a prescription from a dermatologist? I am currently using an Adapalene 0.1%, but my face still oils up. Super super oily.
I’m a 54 year old grandma and I’ve been using Tretinoin for about 25 years. I still use it about 4/5 days a week. I originally began using because of bad acne. People rarely believe I’m as old as I am! I wear a moisturizer with SPF under makeup during the day and use Tretinoin at night. I find that wearing a primer under foundation helps with any flakiness during the day. Drinking lots of water and not smoking will also definitely help keep your skin from aging.
I'm 55, Agree. Proof is in our pix as comments show ;-) Tretinoin, sunscreen, do not smoke, rarely drink alcohol, eat healthily and exercise. Nobody belives I am the age I am. There are no secrets. But most will not do it.

I hade terrible acne around my mouth as s teenager and into my early 20s. I was prescribed Dianette and Tretonion. It made a real difference. I am now 51 and my skin looks great. I still have some lines and my complexion is smooth. Just wanted to give hope to people suffering from acne. Your skin might be bad now but it might be a blessing in disguise when you sre older.
dianette is forbidden in france because there have been deaths related to that medicine and the company producing it got sued and it's illegal in france now.
I highly recommend starting off with differin (adapalene) for a couple months/weeks prior to beginning tretinoin to get your skin used to the increase cell turnover. I was on adapalene/other retinol products for years prior to actually starting tretinoin, and I was able to use it nightly immediately with little to no sensitivity.
@@recruitmentqatar8713 Differin is less intense of a treatment, but it will give similar results. For some it even works better and is far less irritating.
@@dianadiana8081 I can't speak on the Drunk Elephant product as I've never personally used it. I just started to use Retin A last week and had no peeling. The face will feel like burning a bit when I put other products but it goes away within seconds. I also put vaseline around me lash line, top and bottom, and around my mouth. I start using 5%, prescription, every day right away, however I follow this evening routine: 1. I wash my hands 2. I wash my face with Cerave 3. I wash my face with Cerave millar water without rinsing 4. I wait for it to soak in 5. I use red and infra red light therapy for 20 min, to give sufficient amount of time for all product to be absorbed. 6. I apply Retin-A 7. I wait another 20 minutes and I apply moisturiser 8. I apply eye cream when moisturiser soaks in. Maybe the peeling will happen still, we'll see, but I already have incredible results, evening of the skin tone, and minimizing fine lines under my eyes. I hope that marionette lines also go away eventually.
When starting, a great tip to remember is to apply a good moisturizer before tret. Let it rest and absorb for 20 min before you apply tret. Let tret do it's thing for 10-15 min before applying another layer of ypur moisturizer.

The Vaseline on your face doesn't cause more pimples? I feel like oils and such that I put in my hair breakout my edges but I guess Vaseline isnt actually oily?
@@chasebarber10 Vaseline is an occlusive. The molecules are too large to penetrate the skin and instead seals in any product under it. It is definitely oily but that isn’t a bad thing, just use it at night. It’s a great product to help your skin barrier heal because it is protecting and sealing in moisture so it actually assists healing and should not cause break outs unless there is an allergy or a bad product underneath it.

So excited to try tretinoin for anti-aging. I'm approaching 40, and I only heard about this stuff a few days ago. I had given up on facial skincare, since any moisturiser I've ever tried just gives me spots, and fails to have any anti aging effect. I had concluded that the entire anti aging industry was a scam. Actually the only thing I do use on my face is factor 50 sunscreen when needed, and I use a toner, that's all I do, other than pure lanolin on my lips. I do focus on a healthy lifestyle for the sake of my skin but it's hard to be consistent with that all of the time. I have ordered some tretinoin without a prescription, fingers crossed the site is legit!!!!! (It's a foreign brand.)
It's my 4th month of using tretinoin (0.05%). Those first 2 months were horrible. Inflamed and sensitive skin, pimples and what not's. But your videos gave me a great motivation to continue on my journey and looking back I'm glad I didn't gave up. I use it religiously every night and my skin has become accustomed to it. I needed to hear this. I'm 1 month in and while my skin isn't in bad shape, it is rather flaky and mildly itchy. It's hard to imagine that it will help so much when you are only a month in. This is a good reminder of what I'm fighting for.
It has been my second year on tretinoin, I’m really grateful that you introduced it for me , all the acne is gone and pores are smaller, and my skin is no longer as oily as it used to be it is starting to be more like normal type of skin too! a while ago I got little lazy on using sunscreen when I’m at home even tho I open the windows and it didn’t turn out great so I starting using it everyday even when I’m at home and thank god I rescued my skin once again hahaha
Your skin is amazing! I used to use Retin A as a teenager, but couldn't get hold of it from my doctor. Now at 43 I've been prescribed the retinol: Differin (Adapalene) 0.1% and is easier to tolerate and have improved skin.
I used retin A for years, for an odd case of adult acne, and later, moisturizers with a retinol. I also used fake tan, and the highest sunblock available, face and neck, on ANY exposed skin, arms and hands, whatever.. And a neck scarf whenever i was in direct sunlight, as a physical block. Not SOMETIMES, but ALWAYS. Consistency is the key here. 40 yrs later, i have no eye wrinkles, or mouth parentheses. Retinol corrects the normal age skin thining. Old skin is like paper, young like cardboard. Think of trying to crease either...this is EXACTLY how this works. And my neck is still perfect, hands unblemished. There is little even the best plastic surgeon can do about ANY of this.
I’ve been using it for about 6 months now and I have started seeing results! Smoother, brighter, even toned skin 😊 I’m only 22, but I’ve struggled with my skin since I was a teenager. I had dryness and tightness at the beginning, but not as much irritation as you had it sounds like.
I started tretinoin about 3 years ago, I’m 36. I’ve just got it down my neck; I started with it in patches. First half my forehead for a week, then my full forehead, and so on, unless I started getting it irritation, and I used moisturizer as a base. Now I’ve gotten to full face coverage, and neck, and am starting to put it directly on my face, no moisturizer as a base, and I put moisturizer as a second layer. I had no horrible flaking or crusting by beginning this way, but have all the benefits, my skin is so much better than it was.
I've definitely over done it with tretinion 0.05% before because I thought it would heal my acne and hyperpigmentation quicker (lol). I'm using it differently this time round and now 6 months in, I still find it a bit difficult to deal with (purging, dryness) but nothing compared to my first time round when I was DESTROYING my skin!!
I didn't have any side-effects when I started using Retin-A twenty years ago (I'm almost 60). I've never gone above .025% but I absolutely have no wrinkles, and I'm a stomach-sleeper.
Lower doses have actually been proven to work better than high % Tretinoin for wrinkle & discoloration issues. More isn't always better! Be sure you have a good Dermatologist. 👍
I’m 40 and I’ve been using retin-a since I was 15 so that’s 25 years. However I didn’t start using spf until a about 3 ago. I wish I used spf in the past but I’d say the spf is the game changer. The blotches, sunspots, hyperpigmentation and freckles didn’t go away until I used spf.
I’ve been using Retin A for 10+ years. Up until about a year ago I was still peeling and had inflamed skin most times. Now i use a base of Niacinimide, Alpha Arbutin, and HA serum mixture, let it dry completely then add a thin layer of cereve dace lotion. About 30-1 later i apply Retin A. My skin has never looked better and no issues with peeling or irritation anymore!
@@soniam2690 yes. I combine those 3 then add a thin layer of cereve pm lotion. After about an hr I apply Retin A. Vit C and azaleic acid in the am. It’s the best my skin has ever looked…

I am on tretinoin for over one year. I have never had any sides affect as skin peeling or etc. I started using a tretinoin with a minimal percentage and continued to do so for a month without problem . Then I moved to 0.05% and used it for a month and then I started 0,1% and am on it . And I see an amazing result every day 😉😊
I’ve been using Tretinoin for about 20 yrs now. I started due to post-menopausal acne (never had it as a teen, go figure). I wasn’t going for porcelain skin, I just wanted to control excessive oil and breakouts. We started slow (0.025, then 0.050, then 0.1) and I had very little peeling or flaking and no cracking. Eventually the oil production became normal and breakouts lessened; I’m assuming that’s due to the retin-A but also changing hormones. I have very little wrinkling; I don’t know how much is due to my oily skin or the retin-A but I’ll never stop using it.
I had 3 treatments of isotretinoin for my acne in my adult life (I'm 29), and two years ago I saw your video about tretinoin and full of patience I started. I need to thank you because if it wasn't for you I would have never discovered the absolute solution to my acne and actually, every other skincare issue that I had with just one product. I have glass skin, I don't need to cover it with makeup anymore. Zero texture, zero wrinkles or acne or spots.. it's absolutely mind blowing. I'll keep using it for the rest of my life probably. Thank you for changing my life!! And if someone who reads me thinks I'm exaggerating. I still have health issues because of the 3 treatments with the isotretinoin in pills. My skin was a huge problem in my daily life so yeah. It's a miracle for me 💖
Hi Kelly, did you experience dryness if the skin? I am in month two and I feel like my skin is looking so old? I am 33 and my wrinkles seem more deep. Thanks
@@tringa9969 I noticed flakiness or dryness when I use the tretinoin every single day without moisturizing properly. Sometimes I need to space it out and use it every other day and in the day in between I make sure to moisturize a lot and let my skin regenerate. At this point the good effects of the tretinoin are still the same even if I don't use it every single day 😊
Your story is so similar to mine. I am 29 and have been on Accutane thrice, I have started tretinoin from yesterday, hopefully my skin will also improve in the coming days.

Thank you for making this video. I've been using TRETINOIN for 2 years though there were few gaps here and there where I stopped for a month or so. Recently I started thinking that I don't see a very drastic difference, but this video gave me hope and clarity.
Your skin is flawless. I've been using for a decade and turning 40 with flawless foundationless youthful glowing skin. I see the initial flaking as the great skin PURGE of getting your old crappy skin off to reveal the baby skin underneath. SPF is must, I agree. Some people experience dermatitis which is NOT to be confused with the initial skin purge. Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin and a negative reaction yet be aware of other products used in addition to.
I've struggled with cystic acne for years. It seemed like it only got worse as I got older. Nothing has worked to clear my skin up like a normal person's except maybe a Doxycycline regimen, and that's not exactly a sustainable skin care routine. My dermatologist prescribed Tretinoin at the end of last year, but like you, I had to stop using it because my skin was getting so irritated. So thank you for sharing this, because it gives me some hope that maybe this can really work for me. One other thing with Tretinoin that I struggled with IMMENSELY has been irritation due to using it on broken skin, most notably due to picking. The doc DID warn me about that one, but I was already fairly obsessive and compulsive about skin picking by then. So that, combined with using too much, or too frequently, just made an even worse mess out of my skin, and I had to stop for a few months. You have my gratitude! I really appreciate you sharing this video. Gives me hope that--with a little more discipline and mindfulness around how I use it--hopefully I can achieve real results one day, too.
I have been using 0.025% tretinoin for 5 months. There is lots of acne going on from past 3 months. I know its not magic and i have to wait to see results. You do inspire me
Been in the same boat before. It can feel like playing a game of tug of war with your skin sometimes with all that back and forth but it won't last forever. Sticking it out is easier said than done but it's so worth it.
I still remember finding you on UA-cam (I was watching a Dr. Dray video on tretinoin and yours was among the next recommended videos) over a year ago and being so struck by your beautiful, glowing skin and your clear and cogent explanations about what it’s done for you and how highly you recommend it. It took me a few months afterward to get the courage to finally try it (and being completely sick and tired of trying every product in the drug store to cure my acne - none of them helped!). Your videos are immensely helpful and your skin is such a testament to a simple routine and good daily habits. Thanks so much for sharing you and your uncle’s wisdom. I like “the skin has the largest memory” - I’m going to remember that going forward.
I started using it late. I had a spot in the middle of my face in my 50s that had to be biopsied. The dermatologist suggested tretinoin for repairing sun damage and avoiding more issues. I was in a hurry. I turned a purple-red. Flaking was hard to deal with when you have a job to get to. I started with .05. I had great results but quit later due to illness and other fun issues. Recently I kept having a spot, a broken vessel on my face bleed again and again. This time I am using .1 and adding an equal bit of lotion. This time it worked very fast on blood vessels (sun damage). Left side is still too pink (sun damage from driving) I think I have to continue until death, lol. Old ladies have thin skin that bags and wrinkles. My skin is thick and plump. As you age, you compare yourself to the younger you and feel lost. But at 75, none of my friends can compare. I am so grateful that I got that hole in my face years ago that drove me on to using tretinoin. You can waste a lot of money on lesser products without results. I don't think it is ever to late to start.
@@olgabushak2942 Yes, after cleansing you use your retinol/retinoid and finally you put on a moisturizer. Only use retinol/retinoids at night. In the morning you must always apply sunscreen at the end of your skincare routine. Some recommend using retinol for starters as it is less irritating than retinoids such as tretinoin and adapalene. The reason retinol is less irritating is that it needs to break down first into a retinoid (retinoic acid also known as tretinoin) before it can be used by our skin, so when you apply retinol onto your skin, it slowly releases retinoic acid into your skin, leading to less irritation. On the contrary, tretinoin or retinoic acid is the form in which your skin can use it, so when you apply tretinoin onto your skin it immediately gets absorbed into the cells without the need for any breakdown beforehand. This is the reason why tretinoin could be much more irritating for your skin than retinol, but also it is why it is more effective than retinol. You could start using tretinoin immediately though, but you would need to be very careful with how much you are applying and the frequency. Hope this helps!
I’m going on my 2nd year with regular retin-a use. I used it when I was 14-16 but hated it. My skin would bleed and peel and that is awful at 16!! I’ve just turned 54 and many can’t believe my skin is so nice. I’ve never had good skin but it’s getting closer and closer. Thank you for your knowledge and help with this product!
My dermatologist said, 30+ SPF, fragrance free moisturizer, Retinol is enough to take care of your skin. Honestly I had cystic acne for almost 5-6 years, and I was prescribed 0.1 % tretinoin, consistent use and your persistence is needed for this to work. I have 0 acne now. Derm also recommended Azelaic acid for post acne hyperpigmentation. My skin peeled off like peel off mask. 😂
I've been using this for 30 years, I'm only using this 2 per week now at .1% . I'm applying it on the backs of my hands now to improve discoloration, it gets red and dry but my hands are improving!
Other philosophy of yours that I relate to is that of finding something that works and implement it for life. People should not be anxious about getting tretinoin results sooner, since it's something that should accompany us for our entire lives. Now I use tretinoin 0.1% almost everyday. I love what it does to my skin so much that I began to use it twice a week on my arms as well (besides face, neck, and hands), and I should say I get instant result, the very next day my arms skin looks thiner and softer... Your skin at 39 is better than that of many Hollywood stars at 29... Congratulations!
@@bulletparado My sister's skin used to breakout with a terrible inflammatory effect, but the retinol had amazing results, after more than a year of prescription, my sister stopped retinol three years ago and her skin still looks like the face of a baby and she is almost 40. I left it more than a year ago and our skin looks very young. But you need forever: SPF, a daily care routine, some exercise and not the worst nutrition.
I did a slow introduction but when I made the jump from 4 nights a week to nightly, I experienced some serious side effects that made me quit - a little bit of peeling and flaking, yes, but the main issue was that every single pore on my chin was in a constant cycle of inflammation and eruption. I had never had so many zits at once! after a month of constant chin zits I got discouraged and quit 😖 I will try to re-introduce tretinoin back into my regimen once a week and see if I can go slower this time.

When people can’t put in the work, they shame others.

LOL no. Retin A is vitamin A. Vitamins can't eat, they are not living organisms 😄. But they encourage collagen production, which makes skin firm, and they remove the upper layers of skin cells quickly

That’s excellent advice and I concur! I love Differin gel.
Will differin give me the same results?
@@recruitmentqatar8713 Differin is less intense of a treatment, but it will give similar results. For some it even works better and is far less irritating.
What is your thoughts on Drunk Elephant Retinol cream compare to your Differing? Should I use this first. I’m looking to start this retinol journey.
@@dianadiana8081 I can't speak on the Drunk Elephant product as I've never personally used it. I'm sure it would work in acclimating your skin to the retinoization process if you are planning to move on to tretinoin afterwards. As far as using it prior to Differin, no need, you should be able to use Differin from the beginning (and it is much cheaper).
I just started to use Retin A last week and had no peeling. The face will feel like burning a bit when I put other products but it goes away within seconds. I also put vaseline around me lash line, top and bottom, and around my mouth. I start using 5%, prescription, every day right away, however I follow this evening routine:
1. I wash my hands
2. I wash my face with Cerave
3. I wash my face with Cerave millar water without rinsing
4. I wait for it to soak in
5. I use red and infra red light therapy for 20 min, to give sufficient amount of time for all product to be absorbed.
6. I apply Retin-A
7. I wait another 20 minutes and I apply moisturiser
Thank you .
Can I apply something like snail mucin or hydroboost gel instead after tret?
@@Jade-ig9lq Yes, but wait about 15-20 minutes after applying Tret before you apply the other stuff.

For all the people that are getting scared to use it, I didn’t have any side effects whatsoever and I started putting it on every single night from day one!
Aquaphor is good too instead of vaseline

Be careful w foreign brands

Though a long way to go, I can already feel a tremendous difference to my skin texture and tone to a degree where I don't need any other products and cut all of them to minimum basics. Hoping for much more in the near future. By the way I'm 23 years, nearly the same age as you were when you first started.❤️

Thank you for changing my life!! And if someone who reads me thinks I'm exaggerating. I still have health issues because of the 3 treatments with the isotretinoin in pills. My skin was a huge problem in my daily life so yeah. It's a miracle for me 💖

This lady is the reason I will never use Retin A. I remember someone asking in the comments why she never smiled a few years back and she replied that the retin A was the reason and that after years of use her skin was too delicate or dry or something to smile. No beauty regime is important enough to not be able to move your face.
Lmao @ your IQ
Lol retin-a doesn’t do that. She’s def got Botox or something. And no shade if she does, just saying retin-a won’t do that.
Been using it 30 yrs, I smile. My face moves like yours. Don't be silly.
@@donnamiles6867 I am reporting what this lady said in a previous video. Unfortunately I don’t have data on every person who uses retin a in the whole wide world. Don’t patronise me with your rude remarks please.

Your skin is amazing girl! I'm so jealous 😫 wish I would have started the benzoyl peroxide and tretinoin regiment when I was in my early 20's. I'm 32 now and been using both for 6 months and my acne is 75% better and skin is smooth and even. Glad to know I've only seen a fraction of the results I'll see a year from now. Thanks so much for the information you provide! And seeing a 40 year old middle aged woman look like as great as you do. I'm more than optimistic. You are gorgeous 😍

You saying that it took 12 months to see results has really motivated me. I am currently using Adapelene, its been 5 months now and still no results. My skin has not worsened but I have not seen results. I will be consistent!
good luck. I used adapalene for around 8 months and didnt get much better. My dermatologist switched me to tretinoin and its worked way better. Maybe if you have a dermatologist ask them about other options?

May i know how much you pay for it? What grams? And how long it lasts?
Which sunscreen is good?

She’s the only reason why I started my retinol journey 🙏🏻

I'm so confused how to use retinol. Do I put moisturizer after. What brand do you use? Why did you start with retinol vs tretinol
@@user-ey7wg7hl3v thank you so very much 💖
how are u doing now
I’m going on my 2nd year with regular retin-a use.
Retinol and sunscreen, plus a good basic cleanser and moisturizing agent, in my opinion, is all you need ("anti-aging" wise).
What brand are you using?
Do we have to use it forever ??
@@bulletparado My sister's skin used to breakout with a terrible inflammatory effect, but the retinol had amazing results, after more than a year of prescription, my sister stopped retinol three years ago and her skin still looks like the face of a baby and she is almost 40. I left it more than a year ago and our skin looks very young. But you need forever: SPF, a daily care routine, some exercise and not the worst nutrition.
People....can afford that???? Calm down.
your skin looks so young and healthy, i’m jealous 😅
I did a slow introduction but when I made the jump from 4 nights a week to nightly, I experienced some serious side effects that made me quit - a little bit of peeling and flaking, yes, but the main issue was that every single pore on my chin was in a constant cycle of inflammation and eruption. I had never had so many zits at once! after a month of constant chin zits I got discouraged and quit 😖 I will try to re-introduce tretinoin back into my regimen once a week and see if I can go slower this time.
It's a medicine, you're not supposed to use it daily!
Ive been on tretinoin for 9 months now and barely started seeing a little bit of results. Its definitely a very slow progress. Keep at it.
How’s your skin now
I believe and trust everything your saying, you can tell you're just being transparent. And the delivery is so casual and like factual. But when you said you were 39 I almost dropped my computer because I had been watching this video under the impression you were no older than 30
I’ve started using retinol recently. I’ve been using it every other day, so when I heard you say you started using it once a week my jaw dropped lol. I was like aahh shit, think I’ll dial back after today and take it even slower. Can’t wait to see what my skin is like a year from now. I appreciate the video!
retinol is no where near as strong as tretinoin so you are fine. i am using it everyday
Retinol is not as strong as tretinoin but you should start slowly. Once a week and work your way up. You should also start with a milder one and get a stronger one in time

I’m using tretinoin! My skin is improving all the time. how many times a week do you use it?
I'm 51 and I'm bummed because I was prescribed tretinoin when I was a teen and I couldn't get past the peeling and so I stopped using it, with the right attitude and guidance, I could have been using it all these years!
Something that helped me battle the flakies when i had a 6 month tretinoin stint was using my spf in the morning as a moisturizer, since I have to reapply it anyways. I reapplied every 2-3hrs even inside the home or office. That helped
Hello @ Nicky La Piel
This is very useful to know.
I have always wondered what happens if you wear foundation, powder etc..
Do you remove them b4 reapplying the SPF?
Or do you not wear any makeup?
do you wash your face before you reapply the sunscreen multiple times during the day?
