Thank you for screwing the nut onto the end before tapping. Not all UA-camrs do that and they set an example that could cause a lot of unnecessary work for somebody.
@@EbikeRepairs thanks man I have the engwe pro motor. I found out that model has a welded clutch to enable regen from the motor. I uploaded a post of the two clutches for anyone to compare. Such a relief the new clutch coasts for days
@@joehozzy2616 If you make a hole in the clutch with a drilling machine, there will definitely be particles that fall into it, how do you get the particles out?
I've got this exact same clutch. Please where did you get a new one? Mines from a volt bike. Like yours looks fine. But sometimes no drive and clunking from the motor so wanted to replace it.
I think you need the clutch mechanism, usually comes with the planetary gears included. I don't know how to replace only the clutch mechanism one way bearing, I think they're sealed units.
@@EbikeRepairs Did you end up having to replace the whole motor in the end? I have a Promovec motor with the same issue, and exactly the same Planetary Gear part that has failed. Bafang gears are easy to source, but not Promovec it seems.
Answering my own question here, but I managed to get a replacement clutch from Batribike, who are the UK distributors of Promovec motors. Took about 6 weeks to arrive as they need to import the part but is now installed and all working again. Many thanks for the original video as it was a great help in working out how to take the motor apart.
Your videos are so helpful
Glad you think so!

@@oldoldpilgrim7898 always do it! I rounded an axle nut once so badly I had to replace the motor (at great expense) so now I've learned my lesson.
very helpful, i had a customer bring in a newer bike and the axle key was never installed
Glad it helped
36T 38mm Planetary Gear with Clutch.... Do you use this clutch?🚲🚲🚲🚲
Unfortunately I couldn't find a clutch for this motor, sorry
Is it possible to loosen up a sticky clutch to help coast for longer
Either bearing replacement or a new clutch assembly would be needed. What motor do you have?

i didnt know that, thanks!
The "sprag" clutch is dry. Lift the seal off and put oil into it, it will work fine.
Yes had same issue. I drilled a tiny hole in clutch and injected oil into it.
Good to know, I'll have to give that a go next time I get an unfixable one! Thanks for the info

@Boediprasetya do it carefully and there will be no issues

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get a spare, the manufacturer never responded. I replaced the whole motor for the customer.
I have the same situation in a gazelle ebike, what should i do ? Is it possible to replace only the bearing or i need all the planetary assembly ?

@@EbikeRepairs thanks
woodruff key is round, this seems to be a square one not?
AFAIK this is standard but maybe I'm calling it the wrong name - it's a keyway slot filler jobbie
Hi, did you find a source for the clutch? I also have a smaller axle - 13.5mm
unfortunately not. sorry!

One of the comments mentioned injecting some oil 👍
At the most important part of fixing the motor the video ended. Not good at all.
I couldn't fix this one as I couldn't get a new clutch
