I am not sure about that. It's very hard to guess what size gears they are using by just looking at the size or wattage of the motor. In my case it was a 750 watt rear hub motor. When I searched online for "750 watt rear hub motor planetary gear replacement" I saw a lot of them. I bought two of them ( one nylon and one steel ) without even checking the size of the gears. I thought 750 watt hub motors use the same size gears. But I was wrong. The gears I bought were 38mm. But the gears inside the motor was 47mm. Or take your time and disassemble the rear hub motor and measure yourself. Hope this helps Thank you EbikePOV

Yeah, I put the grease on the gears. Because they are the moving parts which touches each other causing the friction. To reduce the friction, we apply grease. How much....? just enough to coat a thin layer on all the grooves of that gears. Since they are nylon gears, a thin layer is good enough. Thank you
Hello friend, The resistance I think it is from the dried up grease in between those white planetary gears and the steel clutch that holds them. It happened to me two years ago when there was only 500 miles on my bike. I have noticed the noise from the motor got louder and there is a lot of resistance from the motor. It was not spinning freely and stops real fast. And when I ride, it was so hard to pedal (feels like something is holding my bike from the back). When I opened the motor, the first thing I noticed was, there was a lot of white lithium grease all over the motor. They have probably over greased it when they assembled the motor. And there was also a lot of grease settled in between the gears and the clutch housing. You know when these gears are over greased - the excess grease will gets out of the grooves and settle in between the gear body and the clutch body. The space in between the gear body and the clutch housing is very thin and we don't need any grease there because they are not touching each other. But the excess grease gets in there and creates an unwanted friction. During the time, the friction will cause them to heat up and dries up fast, which causes the resistance. Anyway, I have cleaned all the old grease out and applied new grease. After that the motor was kind of quiet and the wheel started spinning freely. Try it. But DO NOT OVER GREASE Thank you
@@EbikePOV Thank you very much. This is a lot of valuable information. I have to get those planetary gears off. The motor spins freely with no resistance out of the case but the moment I put it back into the motor housing it becomes really hard to turn
I found the reason for the huge resistance. The clutch provided with the bike is very stiff turning I will replace it if i can't get it rotating freely
i dont know if hammering on the axle is a good idea as you can damage the end of the axle so that the torque plate wont go back on. many ebikes come with a very basic torque arm that is a teardrop shaped piece of metal that goes over the axle and bolts to the frame. the torque plate is made so precisely that there is not much room to fit so you may not be able to get the torque plate back on. you are better off using a gear puller.
I just did this today and used a gear puller. With that, you don't even need to use a spanner on the other end. Because it's evenly pulling, I was able to do it by just twisting the puller axle by hand. But the clutch was pretty tight in there when I went in with other stuff.
Hi I have a problem with my motor when I’m on the bike the motor stops working and how I get it to go again is I have to rev it and push the bike backwards and the motor clicks back in the gear then I go do a bit longer and I have to repeat the process it’s annoying can you help it’s a 1000w motor thanks
Motor was making crazy noises and the wheel was not spinning freely. When I spin the wheel, it stops real fast. Out of the three planetary gear, one gear's bearing was messed up. I think that's because my bike is kind of heavy. Now it's really smooth. Hope this answers your question.
It all depends upon what kind of noise you are hearing from the motor. You know, all the hub motors have a humming noise. That's normal. If that humming noise gets louder - that means there is some kind of resistance in the motor - which is caused by 1) low grease 2) too much grease or 3) dried up grease that settled in between the gears and the clutch body. All these causes a little resistance and louder motor noise. If you dont care about the resistance and the humming noise, then you dont have to worry about that. But, if the noise is kind of rattling, then you have to open up the hub motor and check out what is going on. There may be broken parts inside. In my case, one of the nylon gears bearing got messed up. That's not normal. It happened to me because, I have a lot of stuffs on my bike which makes it very heavy. That's why I changed the whole clutch assembly. Hope this will help you Thank you
You know, when the motor runs smoothly without any issues, there will be no sound. When there is sound coming from the motor, that means there is something unusual going on in the motor.
I dont know which brand is it. I bought it from aliexpress.com. There is a lot of ebikes on there website with no brand name or model name.
Hello Lee, If you can upload a video of whats going on, that will be great. Thank you
Reason for replacement?
Motor was making crazy noises and the wheel was not spinning freely. When I spin the wheel, it stops real fast. Out of the three planetary gear, one gear's bearing was messed up. I think that's because my bike is kind of heavy. Now it's really smooth. Hope this answers your question.
Hi. My motor started making noice too, if i dont change this gear, it will work or it will stop working soon?
If i dont care about noice
Hope this will help you
Thank you
Nothing was wrong with the old ones a little bit of noise is is good but thanks for the video
You know, when the motor runs smoothly without any issues, there will be no sound. When there is sound coming from the motor, that means there is something unusual going on in the motor.
what's your e bike model name?
I dont know which brand is it. I bought it from aliexpress.com. There is a lot of ebikes on there website with no brand name or model name. On the description it was saying 750 watt fat tyre cruiser bike. There was no name on the box or on the bike either. There is no branding on the motor either. I guess its some generic brand
Thank you for your reply! Though I searched the Aliexpress website, but I couldn't find a similar model..(20inch?)
I'd appreciate it if you could let me know the purchase link for the model.
Hello friend, so sorry for the late reply. I just noticed it.
You said right. I cannot find that link either. My purchase history for this bike was linked with my old profile which was deleted because of some issues with aliexpress. So, I was not able to access that particular order. I bought this bike back in 2019. At that time there was a lot. But now, I have searched their website for a similar one but I cannot find any.
I used a picture of my bike on Google Lens and found some similar ones online. I will list them below

Does anyone sell planetary gears for bikes that have the cable on the left side?
Not Sure
Clutch? What clutch? There’s no clutch in there, is there? It’s a motor and gears.
I watched the video and didn’t see a clutch. Do you understand what a clutch is?
Why are you mad...? Please look at this link www.amazon.com/s?k=planetary+gear+with+clutch&crid=QPX9ZEL0XR9O&sprefix=planetary+gear+with+clutch%2Caps%2C78&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
He's using a mobile grease I use a marine Grease
Why?

@@EbikePOV Is marine grease better?
I don't really know which one is better. When I searched online, it says marine grease are waterproof. Other than that it still the same. I have used mobil grease because it is way better than the white lithium grease that the bike came with.

If you mean how good is the mobile grease, so far its working good for me.

Fake .....
I dont know what made you feel like its fake. I went through the problem and did this to fix it. At that time there was very little videos on youtube regarding this. Thats why I recorded it and uploaded it , so that it can help other people. Any way thanks for your comment.
На руле у бати целая жизнь :D
Спасибо, мой друг
Can’t get my clutch to come off
Try gear puller. That's easy. You can search for "gear puller" on amazon. There is a lot of them.
