This installation applies to all Fieros front and rear, but the control arm and bushing sizes vary for each model. I chose not to do polyurethane because I don't want a harsh ride. Rubber will rot out a lot faster FYI.

Actually bro you don’t have to respond to this but you’re an absolute legend and the hero the fiero community NEEDED!
haha thank you man!!!
I agree 100% so glad that there is someone who cares about the Fiero and allows it’s legend to only get better kudos to you and really everyone on this stream that gives tips and advise and doing it in a kind and respectful way. Thank you all
Hey Man. I laughed I just am doing this now. I went poly on my 88. The front upper control arm shafts and the other front hardware had to be cut off. My 88 sat for 25 years. Here in Canada I could not source one and did not care for the design I used a pto shaft drilled the vertical holes where needed the drilled and taped the ends. Now it’s bolted on the upper a arms. The fun part this week is rebuilding the brake calipers. This build has been a lot of penetrating oil. On my 2nd can of it. I’m going to finish watching your build here since my rear is going in I hope this week. The front as well once hardware arrives. It’s like Xmas under my car on the lift. Boxes pilling up.
Same here... I won't get to it this year but I have all new 88 front suspension/steering components to install. Will make a video when I do. Check this vid out for some details on the build, or my channel for lots of other how-to's ua-cam.com/video/KNeiJx1PvlM/v-deo.html
Well done sir. Thank you for taking time to post these videos
Thanks for the support!
This is a great kit from Rodney. Did min on a press and it was easy. Thanks for posting the video.to tighten the bolts I lift the suspension with a floor jack to its filly loaded position and then tighten, with the wheel off. This is easily done on a lift. Or you can lift the car and put it on jackstands and then work the suspension bolts
No problem! That trick is probably great. Not fun to get under the car when it's on the ground. No lift here unfortunately!
I don't actually see the point of burning the rubber out. But I applaud you for using rubber over poly. Lots of people use poly not knowing the downsides. And sure, poly is an upgrade over 30-40 year old rubber, it's not going to last as long, it will add maintenance and potentially squeak. If the same durometer rubber is available (it has been, not sure if it is anymore for the Fiero) for purchase there's no advantage to polyurethane.
It's not 100% necessary, but it does make it easier to deform the steel housings. The other control arms did not come with steel bushings so I probably could have pressed those out instead.
And yep I had poly engine mounts and hated them, so I was sure to go rubber this time!
There's not much variety out there anymore though, I could only find one option for each bushing for my 88.
Great video. I went and ordered kit after watching.
dang maybe i should have asked for a sponsorship. Thanks man!
Maybe write the production year of the fiero you talk about?!
9 second mark lol ua-cam.com/video/Nu_Zd77NuTo/v-deo.html
Why did you choose to use anti-seize inside the suspension assemblies?
You need some sort of lube to press it in. Anti-sieze does well. Don't get it on the rubber parts though, just the steel. It's what Rodney recommends in his instructions.
What do u think of the Rodney Dickman zero lash end links?
I think they're OK but I don't know they're worth the money. They will also be a lot harder to replace and possibly wear out faster. I personally just have rubber.
Is there a designated front or rear on the trailing arms?
Nope, they are symmetrical!
What are bushings
Rubber supports between suspension joints
Do not burn them out. When you do so you change the metal's tempering and make it a potential failure point. Stupid thing to do. There are tools and ways to do it without harming the metal or fatiguing it.
Thanks. Rodney's instructions do say you can burn them however.
Hello, got an 87 GT doing the 3800sc swap next month. Do I use my same ECM or do I get one from the same type car the engine came from
you use the ECM that came with the donor car/3800 harness. If you don't have one yes you will have to get one. Try to get one from a junkyard out of a 1998-2002 pontiac grand prix gtp
@@FieroAustin thank you so much for the reply. I will start my search Monday. So excited and nervous about the swap
@@johnnybaker3751 hit me up for anything else at facebook.com/fieroaustin . I wouldn't be too worried. It is work but I got it done in a 3-4 weeks start to finish. If I had had the parts list/video guides that I made for everyone, it'd been a lot smoother for sure! (available here - www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/139530.html )
@@FieroAustin again thank you for the feedback. I may be asking more as I get into it. Does your Fiero have a 5 speed as mine does.
@@johnnybaker3751 nope i have the 4spd auto 4t65
