In today's video, I'll be tackling the start of what I believe will be the most intense portion of this build, the chassis overhaul. Despite the car driving good in the prior episode, a closer inspection revealed a lot of worn out components. The bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and more all showed significant wear so I elected to remove and replace pretty much everything. Not only that, but I also took extra time to restore the parts and make everything look like new before reassembly. Due to the intensity of what I'm going to have to do on this car, I'm splitting up the chassis rebuild into two separate videos. This video will focus on the front end. The next video will focus on the rear end. Thanks for watching!

Nice, I’ve followed your channel for around ten years, is always refreshing to watch your vids.
Thanks so much!
Fantastic video Kyle! You are a great mechanical guy for rebuilding the 1985 Pontiac Viera, such my imagination that the car is in repair.
Thanks! 👍
Great video Kyle! I’ve enjoyed your videos since 2014 and hope to watch you build and finish all the existing and coming projects for many years to come!
Awesome! Thank you!
Man it would be awesome spending a weekend working in your garage, I respect what you are doing I work on 18 wheelers for a living but come from a car background
I appreciate that bud, thank you!
Excellent video!!! That's a heck of a job man. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Kyle your videos just keep getting better and better. You have become very knowledgeable about the inner workings of a car not just reviewing them but being able to work on them as well. Great job keep up the good❤
Thank you!!
Coming along real nice
Thanks!
Classic car!
Ronald Finger did a similar rebuild series restoring a Fiero that had been sitting in a field for twenty years. That video journey took him three and a half years to complete from start to finish.
I don't know who that is, but this car is more of a "budget" restoration. I hope to have it wrapped up in the next month so I can get back to my core projects.
Damn sir, you have an amazing shop and some damn fine mechanical skills!
Love your videos, I always loved your reviews as well
It would be amazing to see an undercarriage cleaning for the Pontiac 💯
Did the same exact thing for my 87 camaro took everything out except the subframe and painted all the control arms and sway bar and put c5 corvette brake calipers
Very cool!!
I've been waiting for the next installment of the Fiero project video series and it's well worth the wait!
Good job and keep up the awesome work.^^
Thanks, will do!
@@saabkyle04 You're welcome.^^
It’s nice seeing you after a few years.
Welcome back!
It looks too good for the car haha. Wonder if Kyle has the urge just to go all out on the underside.
Just about hahaha. I definitely don't have the time or patience to tackle that, just doing the best I can with what I have to work with.
At 11:18 i habe a question - Did you clean and remove the rust completely? Because i seem to spot some in the lower right corner of the thing you were priming?
I cleaned and prepped and treated as much as I felt was necessary. Being more of a budget build, there's isn't the time and money to do concourse quality.
Do you clear coat these parts after painting them?
I did not. I just applied a sealer before the base coat. In my experience, it's not always necessary to clear, but if you have the time and the extra funds to put towards it, it's a nice things to do to really "finish" everything off.
Thanks for the answer.@@saabkyle04
Ngl, I missed the red 1995 Chevrolet K-1500, the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD, the 2001 Ram Single Cab, the S10 Crew Cab, the S10 Single Cab, & the Jimmy
It is a shame that engineers could not come up with bushings snd bearings that require machinery to install. Silly if you ask me.
Control ball joints and rubber bushings! No crsp. That’s called an overhaul. It is not a big deal and any serious car owner has this done at ten year intervals.
This video felt like a 25 minute long advertisement for O-Riley’s & Duplicolor.
Well how else do you think sponsorships work? We all have to make a living somehow...doesn't change the work that was involved...
All that shiny new stuff being installed in that filthy undercarriage is triggering me.
