The only thing they COULD do was stand there and wait for it to end and do damage control afterwards.
Honestly, it was a brilliant move by the student because they would have brushed ot under the rug if she "aired her grievances" on a letter or in the privacy of their offices because they protect each other and their jobs so nothing would have been done. Epically if she had waited until after the graduation - they would say shes no longer a student and dismiss her.

She could've let the students know there was a family issue and she would not be available and would reschedule their appointments with other counselors or for when she was able to come back to work. He says, “I’m on a diet” and then angrily walks over to his desk. One of the kids says, “Why not just eat” this ticks him off for some reason and he says in an angry tone, “This is why teachers get grey hairs”. We all start laughing and at break we tell all of our friends. Whenever we say his name they always respond with, “You should get him a cookie”. Anyway, just wanted to share that.

Like maybe the counselor was dealing with students that had some serious issues and couldn't always be available, or maybe the student is one of those people that blame everyone else for things they should have taken responsibility for. I also wondered if she ever took her issues to the school board at any point before then, as that seems like the appropriate first step to make. Of course I'm certain after this they will look into her "grievances" and hopefully make some changes. It definitely took some guts to do what she did though. And she worded it in a way that got the message across without sounding petty and tacky. I'm sure her parents are proud of her. Nova Chan regarding the counselor, her absence is understandable since she lost her daughter less than an year ago + it’s a Title I school (meaning that the counselor must do a lot of behind the scenes work; eg counseling the suicidal, homicidal, working with social services, working with migrant education laws, etc). And she has approximately 350 students, which is 100 over the recommended amount for a counselor to have.
Yes, her absence is certainly wrong, but those actions can supersede a parent/teacher appointment regarding college.

"It's unfortunate that she decided to air grievances."
Yeah, because problems get solved by keeping your mouth shut and just going with the flow.

I find victim shaming is usually a response when it's a woman airing their concerns. Thank you for saying this friend.

She wasn't talking to all the teachers in the world just the one that failed her and her classmates. She did right by airing them out.smh

Gorilla City 601 nah. The way she did caused such a controversy, nothing was solved. So many other channels she could’ve used. But she wanted clout.

thepackable it was, now that time has passed its been made clear none of her actions made a difference. If anything it got the school administration to tighten their shields even more.

mule vpn no, it’s not my take. This video wasn’t made last week. The fact is whole school board went into lockdown. All the students are away at college or working for awhile now. Any probable evidence is long gone.
