A big trouble the local police force has is the lack of good training by the police force. Cops many times are hired because they know someone on the force. Their experience and training are not given the proper consideration when they are hired. Senior, responsible officers are not properly carrying out their duties of overseeing the force.

@@kevbriguy Being cooperative is one thing, but for law enforcement to step over their legal line is another. They are trained how to do their jobs. Civillians are not. I do not have any training on what to do when a cop talks to me. If it's a traffic stop I have my licence and documents for my vehicle ready and I say nothing. Still they get mad at me. And this is for random stops. I had not done anything wrong, or do anything to escelate things. They just push it because I'd rather stay silent.
So my next move is just to fake sign language to them after giving my stuff. They will very likely apologize on a piece of paper and have me on my way without being loudmouths telling me I am a bad citizen for not talking. My biggest crime thus far.

The initial attending officer has quite clearly been fed a narrative via dispatch via the caller on route. For all you know the caller may have said he was an active shooter or was brandishing a firearm aggressively.

Agreed - I (50 something y/o woman), got pulled over once for I'm pretty sure no reason - I was not told a reason or cited? I had bought/traded a new vehicle, (used) and transferred the plates at the dealership - (per the law). So apparently, the policeman ran my plates, and the vehicle description did not match, he asked if that was my vehicle & asked for my registration. I told him I'd just bought it. The guy at the dealership had told me to use the bill of sale along with my old registration until I receive the new one - so that's what I handed the officer. He goes to his vehicle and then comes back after a short time and asks me, "So, do you get pulled over all the time?" (And I'm thinking wtf - no I NEVER get pulled over -?) But I just said, "No, I don't". After I got home, I thought what a miserable guy! -I still don't know what his problem was. I think he was just mad because I hadn't done anything wrong-?

@@1one3_Racing Apparently the Minnesota law is this:
"According to Minnesota Law, a police officer does not have the right to simply request your identification at random-that is, they can’t just come up to you for no reason at all and demand that you tell them (or show them, by displaying your ID) who you are. They also cannot search you without your consent. On the other hand, if they suspect you of a crime, Minnesota police can insist that you show them your ID.
While there is no statute covering this issue, it’s important to comply with the police if you are able. That means that legally speaking, you need not automatically identify yourself just because a police officer asks for it, but if they can give just cause for stopping you, you need to tell them who you are-and you may end up in jail, at least temporarily, if you refuse to comply."
So the police could have just asked him for his ID, giving him a just cause for doing so. If he didn't comply, THEN they could search him for it. But since this guy is an FBI agent, I'm pretty sure he would comply, because he probably knows the law in Minnesota.

Exactly, they made my fiance sit in the back of a police car after a long day outside as an electrician in the middle of summer in FL..wearing a thick buttoned up t-shirt but wearing THICK jeans & HEAVY work boots..they had him back there for almost 2 hours..with no a/c OR any windows down..all while they searched his ENTIRE work van with like thousands of tools..all while he was screaming for them to give him some air..it wasn't until a seargent pulled up heard him making a commotion & pulled the window down & my fiance asked him for an ambulance cause he was about to pass out. When the ambulance came sergeant who pulled him out of the car actually said "wtf dude did you piss back here?!" He's like no it's sweat!..the seats back there are kinda like bucket seats & my fiance said it was FILLED with his sweat..when the ambulance crew saw his condition they were shocked at the cops & said "this guy's about to die if we don't get him to the hospital asap!" ..my fiance was severely dehydrated..had a heat stroke & was in the hospital for almost 2 full days! 🤯 they almost killed him! The hospital said he was so close to dying..his body was actually sweating out chunks of salt..he's naturally a very muscular guy so he naturally requires a lot of water..he's actually got long term heath issues because of that day..I'm really shocked he didn't sue..I would've made him had I known him back then. Both my parents were cops in Philadelphia, Dad was a Lieutenant..even my mom said cops in FL are a joke..a bunch of Barney Fifes 😂 they are a joke ..there's real criminals they should be after down here but nope they get off giving people tickets..up north the Lieutenant would laugh at you.

The difference is cops say freeze put your hands up when a raid occur the fbi will show up and they will say fbi open up and show up with guns which should be against the law. You do have the right to call the cops if the fbi barge into your property but pretty much they will side with the goverment depending on the crime your committed

For the first case, if you have somebody matching a description a LE officer is well within their right to detain an individual and id them to determine if it's their suspect or not.
This is established in Terry v. Ohio. Both the FBI agent and the creator of this video are severely uninformed. This isn't what racial profiling is.

@@dip9995 That only holds up IF the cop can prove that the person they're seeking ID from actually matches the description of a suspect within reason, and given that said suspect actually exists. Also, the creator of the video is not "severely uninformed". The officer stated, as a matter of fact, that he KNEW the man had a warrant after initially stating that be "thinks" there was a warrant for the man. As the officer was lying, and proven to be lying, his reason for asking for ID was no longer valid and conflicts with ID laws. That FBI agent would have been well within his authority to arrest all 3 of the officers present.

@@aaronthomas6155 I agree the officer lied. The officers do have the right to detain the man and demand to see identification though. The man in the video and the creator of the video both say the officers don't have the right to id.
I am not condoning the officers behavior. I think they aren't exemplary of what we should expect from law enforcement officers. I believe they should be put through more training so they can understand how they should conduct themselves professionally.
But my point stands. The man in the video is severely misinformed and acted extremely childishly.

@@dip9995 Under law, police only have the legal authority to demand identification if they can articulate what crime said person is committing, what crime said person is believed to have committed, or that said person may commit a crime. Since none of these were true, they had no legal authority to request ID.
The only way they could know he has a warrant, is if they knew his identity before hand. Since they didn't know his identity, using the reasoning "I believe you have a warrant" doesn't meet the requirements. Since they couldn't articulate what crime he was suspected of committing or of having committed, they still lacked legal standing. Since they couldn't articulate what crime he was committing, what crime he was suspected of committing or what crime he might commit, they had no reason to detain him. The police don't have the legal authority to randomly detain people at will. They're required by law to have probable cause first. To have probable cause, they must have reasonable suspicion that the aforementioned is true. At no point in the video did they establish probable cause to detain him or even ID him.
