Trick to cleaning perforated leather car seats

- Опубліковано 14 бер 2013
- This video is for a subscriber of my channel. He asked about cleaning perforated leather seats and how the approach might be different. Great Question! Be sure to apply Lather Interior Cleanser to to the BRUSH, and not spray directly cleaner directly on the perforations. Afterwards, quickly vacuum or turn on the ventilated seats (if equipped) -L

Thank you for posting this!!! I've been searching forever now for specifically the cleaning of perforated leather seats and have had no luck till now. You are awesome!!
I bought two bushes from AMMO's online store and started using them this week. They are absolutely splendid and make treating leather a lot easier and effective! Thank you again Larry for these videos and great products.
Good tip, just got a car with heated and cooled seats. I think I'll run a vacuum over it afterward whether I think it needs it or not but will also put a micro fiber cloth over the opening of the vacuum attachment. I'm sure it will still have enough suction to vacuum through the micro fiber; just for a little added scratch proof protection. Thanks for your informative videos! Have a good summer:)
Short, simple and accurate. Thanks for a great and informative video.
I have been watching your videos over the last few weeks and I must confess to be inspired by your advice. I now know how I can improve my cleaning techniques for my CLS500, Have purchased my da polisher, dual buckets, good supply of micro fibre clothes, I only wished I could buy your products here in the UK. Thanks again and I look forward to the forthcoming videos.
This guy is a beast thanks for the videos bro
So much better when the videos are shorter. When the footage is stretched over 20 or so minuets I don't even bother watching. Nice work.
Thanks! My girlfriend's new car has perforated leather seats and I was wondering how to tackle them. This video answered the question perfectly.
Thx bud. Will do!
AMMO NYC hey Larry, I recently had someone throw up(gross) in my back seat and some of the vomit actually got into the perforated section of the seat. What would you suggest I do to get that out?
I just got a car with these types of seats and I was worried about my existing leather cleaning system. This video sold me on AMMO NYC! I just placed my order.
Thank you for posting this! I needed it for my Audi S5. I'm glad I didn't 'try' something that might have caused damage before finding this video.
Hey Larry you are a true professional and have a lot knowledge in automotive reconditioning. I would love to see more videos for working interiors. Hopefully you show us that video you said in the motor home and trailer detail about making designs on carpets
Larry, Great work as usual please keep them coming as they are fascinating and incredibly well done.
Very nice of you Larry to take time out to make videos for specific queries that people have, top work there. :)
Mate - you are a star. I have an old (but beautiful) 2001 7 series with white leather seats and have always been nervous about cleaning them. Your videos are marvellous. Thank you so much. If I had the money, I would fly you to London so you could do my car once a month. !
Using a brush, cleaner and vacuum didn't work for me on getting out little bits of food in the holes. Right or wrong, I had to use compressed air and it worked perfectly. Night and day difference. Keep up the good work and videos.
Put some masking tape on the end of your vacuum cleaner to soften up the plastic edges. Love your vids
i use cut out felt or microfiber cloth
@@TEXpanteraAS You can also sand the end of the vacuum cleaner too.
That's actually a great idea. Thank you.
Great tip
Or Tesa tape
Always enjoy the videos when you upload, also love the sweatshirts you have!
Big thanks to you Larry for making this video to answer my question. Great tip as always. :)
If you have a quite strong vacuum, you could always wrap a microfiber towel or cloth over the noozle to protect the seat. It will diminish the power, but most common cleaners should still be good enough to get any left over foam out of the perforations.
exactly what i needed to know. answered my question and was an informative video. thanks#
You should ALWAYS clean the tip of the vaccuum nozzle when vaccuming leather and other sensible areas.
Thank you! I have A/C perforated seats in my Nissan and wanted to get my car detailed but was scared about how they would clean the seats. Now I know what to ask about.
Larry is amazing.
Could you pleas do a video on cloth interior cleaning? LOVE your videos!
Larry if possible, I would like to request a video showing how you detail the cracks and crevices of the exterior of a vehicle. What products, tools and methods you use to clean the panel seems, door jams, etc.
Thank goodness I came across this to know how to clean my seats! I spilled coffee on my seat and the whip cream went into the holes... I'm going to try this!
Larry makes it all seem so effortless, he's just a guru when it comes to making vehicles look amazing. Following his videos, it's just crazy as to how the majority of his tips are just common sense and taking extra care when handling areas of the vehicle. Thanks Larry!
All great tips Larry, well done. Please do one on alcantara. Cheers.
Thanks i have been searching for this answer for months!
Beautiful interior colour..!
Perfect video Larry, I have the same type of leather seats and this is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Your the best.
love the paint brush idea. thanks
Love the videos. Was wondering how you would go about cleaning perforated leather, like in this video, that has taken some of the dye from shirts and jeans. Would appreciate a video on that if you have time.
If moisture/liqued would happen to get past the perforations in the leather, could this damage the heated seats?
Thank you Larry!
You are CRAZY talented! I'm so jealous! Its no wonder all of those people with the Ferrari's Porsche's the Mclearen MP4-12C trust you so much. Keep up the great work! Huge fan!
Thank you, Larry!
Thanks heaps for the video larry! Answered my question perfectly. I guess with the leather conditioner you'd then apply to a rag, wipe onto the solid leather area, and then using the same rag (without adding any more conditioner) wipe over the perforated areas?
Very helpful! Thank you!! 👏🏽
very helpful, thanks man
I was going to ask how I could clean my Volvo with these type of seats.. THANK YOU for the video
After watching the Honda Accord video I'm like, "what about perforated seats"... then bam, I find this video.
Thank you so much. I didn't want to screw up the leather seats in my Audi Q7 and didn't know how to clean them carefully.
Good and solid info. Thanks.
Sitting here with my mom's lincoln with perforated seats like hmm how tf do I clean these. You sir are the best
Larry, any advice / video / tips on cleaning fabric seats? Most often you see a wet extractor or something being used but as a hobbyist, most people don't have such a device. So any tips on that as well, to get fabric seats as clean and spotless as possible without specialty devices?
First off, I want to thank you for all the knowledge that you have given to me and the viewers.
But I am very curious about how you would clean non leather seats and alcantara. I would really appreciate it if you would make a video about it.
Thank you very much!
I watched you video on cleaning perforated seats. It was great. What is a good cleaner to use? Also, what about a conditioner/softener?
Try to make 2 or 1 videos per week, your videos are very helpful and interesting.
I asked the same question, thanks!
Hey man you got some great videos. Just a couple things I haven't seen you talk about is like cleaning cloth seats. And another thing I've always had issues with detailing was sand inside of cars. Got any tips or techniques??
The video I needed!
thank you, very cool video
Another great video.
Thank you for this video!! Just got a car with dirty indentations in the leather.
Perfect video ! Subscribed
Larry, how would you go about actually protecting perforated leather seats?
If I wanted to apply a conditioner or protectant to my perforated leather, how would I do so without clogging the pores?
I'm gonna try this. I've always used high pressure air in one hand to dry and blast while having a damp micro fibre with cleaner on it in the other.
Deadly video. I currently own a 2016 Subaru STI Sport Tech and the only issue I've had detailing it was the perforated leather. Great video man...keep 'em coming. Subscribed.
Larry if dont mind can you do a video on fabric upholstery seats plz
Thanks for posting this video, great work and clear demonstration. i am not sure if this is asking too much but my brand new car, with heated, cooled seats, a convertible has some bird-poop that has dried up by the time i noticed it. It has filled the tiny holes in the seats. Any chance you could help me out, pls.
Hey Larry, i'd love to buy some ammo stuff, but I do have one question, usually how long are ship times to the west coast?
hi could you do a video on how to repair perforated leather seats ?
Thanks in advance
hey larry can you do a whole video of the entire process from claying, polishing, waxing, sealing and all that to a car that has swirl marks and turning into a show car
thanks
Hi Larry, I have been looking at your videos all the time, just one question, where do you buy your black nitrile gloves from please? Does it last you for a full car valet? Your help is appreciated!!! Thanks.
Do you sell your ammo hoodies? I really like the one you have
can you do a video on leatherette interiors
do more vids please love your vids
Great video, thanks :)
awesome! thanks
It was a good video. I run the heat and air in my Challenger before I even start to insure the holes and leather cant absorb anything. Would like to see you take it to the step removing butt-shine from the surface. I can see how the rear seat has the nicer patina for lack of a better word. Any tips from other viewers are appreciated too!
what if there is mud smashed down into the holes? like if it needs a really good cleaning?
i like the video what is the best way to clean light color perforated seats from die from dark jeans ?
Larry you da man!!!
I have Alcantara Recaros in my MINI
My gearknob and steering wheel have alcantara as well
Can you do a video on Alcantara cleaning?
Would it be advantageous to turn on the heated seat first to help the cleaner work? Or is it not warm enough to really help?
Also being careful to not let any dirty lather dry on the seats (may dry faster with the seats heated)
one question and i do apologise if you have covered it but i haven't found the video yet, was so far you've done all very high end details with leather seats. What products or how would you go about average cars with fabric seats? Would you use like a carpet cleaning product or what would you suggest? Sorry if i'm not clear
good advice
Are you thinking about doing more videos for the Drive channel?
Great Video👌🏻 You know, it might be interesting for you to make a video of detailing seat belts, since they do get quite filthy.
do you sponge off the residual cleaner before applying the conditioner?
You should Tape the metal on the brush prevent from scratching the leather
@ammonyc Hey Lar, what would you recommend for porous leather seats that smell, probably due to water exposure or sweat? Steam, or proper cleaning?
I wish I could go back in time and clean the leather seats of my uncles' early 80s Mercedes. The amount of dirt that built up in the perforations was ridiculous.
very nice and professional
I was thinking on cleaning the leather with the seat heat on to help open up the pores and get a good clean. Good idea?
Any idea how to get little crumbs out of the heated seat holes? Vacuuming dosen't work as they are wedged in or below the surface.
I'm going to have to try some of these. My son just threw up in my new car, and these little perforations are very frustrating to clean.
Now how would you clean cloth seats properly? Great bids
Please make a fabric seat vid
Use a heat gun but do not keep the nozzle to close. Use a sweeping back and forth motion, use a clean rag to rub the area you want to smooth out.
Observation. Caution with vacuum tips. Mine has some ruff edges where it hit the group and it can scratch your seat when you are going up and down with the vacuum tip.
I sand my vacuum tips to avoid this.
Hey Larry, what do you think of Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser? I've had great results for cleaning really greasy dirty leather and vinyl. Do you use them?
Larry can you cover alcantara ? I have half leather half alcantara with perforations in it its a nightmare to keep fresh .
How do you clean and polish or paint correct on colored plastic bumper covers?
Love your videos, I have a Chayenne with a little creasing on the leather seat pad, any suggestions on the best way to smooth them out, I've used ph neutral cleaner and Autoglym leather balm to nourish. Any suggestions wuld be helpful.
Some people use an iron on low setting with a towel. BUT do some research first on how to do it so you don't burn the leather. I've done this and it works wonderfully. I know your comment was a few years ago lol
Hi Larry!
Could you possibly make a video showing the best way to clean fabric interior?
Woah I thought that was my own comment from long ago.
kirbyswarp i see, a fellow polestar enthusiast? :)
abger saurus More of a Saab enthusiast, but yeah, I love them a lot :)
kirbyswarp Wooohoooo! More Volvo enthusiasts! Love mine.
Does it hurt anything to vacuum first, then after if needed again?
