I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner for leather seats in both mine and wife's car. I clean exactly by the video. Awesome results! No need to wipe off lexol conditioner. It dries up fo factory finish!
I use my fingers and palms with pressure to Apply the Lexol conditioner. Squeeze and infuse product into any Leather creases or cracks. Wait 30 minutes and re-apply with your fingers and palms once again. I wait 24 hours without Friction on the applied areas before wiping clean with fresh cloth ( Fold down Suburban seats should stay up after application .) I fully endorse this product !!
Condition doesn't stay glossy. I use the Lexol conditioner all the time. Takes about 48-72 hours for it to fully absorb into the leather and it becomes matte again.
Are you not gonna get that spot on the headrest? No?
Please get it!
Dear God get that spot
GAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Thank God!!
DANIAL ZAKI lol, I was thinking the same thing!
I was thinking the same thing😂
🤣😂🤣😂
roflllllllllllll
I only came to the comments to see how many others viewers were suffering over that spot.
how to clean seats that are clean
ThisIsSolution it’s leather seats tho.... why wait for it to worsen I mean do you clean your ass when every time you shit or once you feel like it’s dirty enough ??
ThisIsSolution 👍😂
@1234coolman hes not talking about cleaning an old and dirty seat. He es talking about maintaining a seat that is clean like the one that he is showing on
If you Wait-its already too Late👍👍👍
@@rts159 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 the analogy is epic 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Clean with an APC (all purpose cleaner) and then use an express spray wax. Modern leather has a protective coating applied from the factory.
Pretty much, it's what I do. Nothing fancy just straight to the point.
Does the spray wax leave the seats greasy
Now THAT is clean! Well done. I prefer to use Lexol as well. The sad thing is that the car owners that do this for their leather seats are probably 1 in a 100. Especially with people leasing (renting) cars and turning them in. No sense of ownership these days. Really crappy for the second owner.
Fantastic video, thanks for the great instruction and "down to the point" steps. Some videos talk too much lol, and this one is perfect! Thanks so much!
The leather conditioner you applied will not get into the 'pores' of the leather unless the seat and coating is heavily worn, allowing the leather to be exposed. This will be obvious due to dye transfer. Automotive leather is coated from the factory, and the pores are sealed by the coating, therefore any 'conditioner' you apply will simply sit on the surface as the coating is water/oil resistant. This will lead to increase wear over time and the oils/conditioners in the cream you applied will attract dirt and dust that then gets worn into the seat. If you want to add protection to your leather seats after cleaning then apply a coating rather than a cream or conditioner.
What kind of coating do you recommend ?
@@aalkurdi I recommend Gyeon Leathershield. Easy to use and adds a protective coating layer.
I have a heating and cooling seat in my car and it has small holes for air to come out so what would you recommend doing differently?
Im wondering the same thing!
I like the Caddy in the background
Lexol products are excellent. This is how I was taught to clean leather in high end autmobiles.
lol these seats are not even dirty! Im self employed as a detailer and I will say that brush is seriously one of the best!
I'll preface by saying I've used Lexol for over 20 years. Since most auto leather is coated, sealing/covering the pores, how is it that Lexol, or any other conditioner for that matter, is absorbed into the pores? All conditioners do is simply add a covering on top of the sealed leather. The car smells like nice baseball glove leather and has a tacky coating on the leather, but that's about it.
Thanks for uploading! I had questions, this video had the answers.
Leather seat in vehicles are covered in a plastic type Layer.
Fair enough. Cleaning (and conditioning) isn't going to hurt anything
really helpful a different way to keep those seat clean I was thinking about that brand it might be the next choice
Hey, very nice video. But Is this a ad for "lexol" and are they a sponsor.............
How often should you clean your leather?
so question, i had some very dirty black leather seats and there was black blemishes, when i cleaned it with a microfiber towel, black residue came off...is that normal or was the from the leathers topcoat?
So no all in one cleaner and conditioner?
How often should you clean and condition leather seats?
once every month usually, but its a must once every 2 months
every 69k miles ;)
Once a year depending on colour and use of seats
Stefan Keels three times a day LOL
Depends on the abuse they get but id say 3-4 times a year if you want it to keep the leather in great shape.
Nice video.
I've used the Lexol cleaner and conditioner using the soft cleaning pads included in the box, on black leather car seats and it has left some bluish marks over the leather. What to do??
Oh hell no with all of that water, lol you’re trippingggg
Lmao
It's water not acid... dumbass.
It’s leather, remember cows don’t leak so I think a little water isn’t going to damage real leather.
@@Lynn-mt5yp fun fact all the car seat leather are cover in a plastic coat for protection so yes water won't harm it 👍
pindiwal some cars have power
(electrical components) in the headrest/ seat that obviously shouldnt get wet
Should demo with white leather seat car.
i noticed lexol leaves the seat feeling waxy
That is why I like it. It gives natural original seat feel. That's the whole point using this Lexol, plus the great protection.
Alot of higher end leather cleaners do that.
Mine dried to a matte finish but felt so soft... My balls thanked me
Bubba Gump Jenkins can we use earwax
Hello good afternoon can I soft brush, towels, ??? How long should I wait to begin working?
I love how they show and old crusty ass leather car seat at the beginning (what I thought they were going to clean), only to show a brand new car with mint leather seats lol
This is the only thing I will use on my seats! It gives that original leather smell back into the car. My seats are heated also and there is no problem, although I would never drench heated seats with water. If you purchase Lexol in a box it will give you everything you need, and it says nothing about pouring water on the seats.
You cleaned a clean seat.
Why dont you use a light color leather that is actually dirty in maybe a car that was just bought last year?!?
How often are we supposed to clean our leather seats?
you missed a spot
No before or after? end result looked shiny and greasy. seats weren't dirty to begin with??
is it safe for seat warmers
why we need to condition the seats?
can you use the same products on the dash?
does this clean the smell of body oil which is beneathe the sponge ?) cause i have a 14 year old car and its a hot city, imagine the 14 years of body oil and sweating gone beneath the sponge, yea nasty
Would you recommend any other products to clean and condition leather seats?
So the inner part of my seats aren't leather but the outer parts are. So would this stuff mess up the material in between? And also how often do you recommend to do this?
Slide the seat forward so you can get that side instead of fighting with the seatbelt and the pillar!
Can i do this on seats with peforation?
can i use this product on bmw leatherette?
How long before using the seats???
Does it helps if the car’s heater is on? (I live in a cold climate state).
Thanks,
Hey Logan,
If there is any over-application, you would want to first buff off the excess with a towel. But this product absorbs into material more than it actually needs to "dry", therefor it can be handled after 15-30 minutes.
Do a cream or white leather seat!!!
What if you have cracks in the seats? Is the process different?
Does this method work on King Ranch Leather?
Wait i got leather seats ( and they are heated ) So I can wet them ? Because I know heated seats have eletricity down below. ? Or you can clean them with steam too ?
Lendell On a rainy or snow filled day and you arw wearing a rain soaked coat. Do you stand there and wonder "ummm should get in my car cause im wet?
how about cooled a/c seats? I wouldn't think soaking them is the smartest of things to do
Hi, does Lexol cleaner remove Foundation & Lipstick stains?
is that gorgeous yellow car with white top behind you a Cadillac? for sale?
i cant figure out what kind of car it is. anyone help?
how often do i do this
would using Maguire all purpose cleaner for the first stage be ok? And then, following up with the conditioner ?
Yep, that's what I've been using.
How often do you do this?
a smart detailer would push the seats forward to access the majority of the seat.
does it leave a slippery grease feel? alot of dealerships uses some kind of product makes the leather slippery and grease. personally doesnt like that
Don't let the dealers touch your car even wash, they hire 18 year old kids who don't even know how to properly wash a car let alone detail them!
IS THIS SMART??? I have so many articles that I've been reading that indicate that you should NOT be soaking your leather seats with water and using a brush as it can damage your expensive, sensitive leather seats...
Where can u buy one of those leather cleaning brush and the cleaner and conditioner
+Jose Vazquez
Check it all out here - www.detailking.com/store-home/interior-detailing-chemicals/leather-cleaning-and-conditioning-products/
Feed Stores have them to clean leather horse saddles.
What brush did you use for the conditioner?
How often should you do it? For example: every 2 weeks or every month ?
Cleaning depends on your situation, for example how much sun exposure your car is getting, kids, pets etc. Usually every 6 months should work fine, if the seats are getting a lot of abuse every 2/3 months. Thanks!
I have a three year old car. I noticed if i dont clean and condition the seats at least once a month, the leather will dry out . I would never go six months without conditioning them, thats just asking them to crack.
what do you say about a product that is a cleaner and a conditioner?
actually yes
It dries with a non-oily feel?
Matthew Calhoun yes
I am nit too sure about putting let alone rubbing water on my leather seats!!
Wouldn't that nail brush scratch the leather seats?
+Raj Chudasama No it's made with horse hair.
Auto glym provides a nail brush, is that made out of horse hair?
+Raj Chudasama not sure about their products, possibly a type of plastic in theirs?
+Detail King cool. thanks dude!! is that a vauxhall Insignia by the way?
What kind if light is that and where can I buy one?
Hello Bill W! The light we used in this video is called "The Claw" LED light Bar. You can pick one up using this link! store.detailking.com/interior-auto-detailing-light-bar
Thanks for the question and your interest!
That conditioner was terrible, look at the gloss! Not a factory look!
I agree. Factory look is what we want. It there another product that doesn't make that gloss look ?
GLOSS is GROSSSS!!!
Im using lexol as well and I will wipe it off after applying the conditioner.
Man I used that Griots leather cleaner gel on my seats and it sucked, took away some of the color on my black leather seats
Thanks, man!
How often should I clean them?
+Bader AlShafei and is that Luxor brand fine? I've always used mcguires.
Is this good for cleaning shit off car leather seat from your family member
(ON A MORE SERIOUS SIDE) DO YOU ENJOY THE SUDS DRIPPING THROUGH A WET BLACK CRACK? AND DO YOU ALWAYS USE PROTECTION?
When u use that brush and water it down doesn't it affect the leather because of the way brushes are made? Awful way.
How often should you clean and condition your leather interior?
Hey Ernie,
We would recommend every 3-6 months, on average.
Does it matter what kind of brush you use ? Or does it have to be horse hair
Horse Hair is what we recommend because it's not aggressive enough that will cause any damage to the seats. We also carry a Leather & Vinyl Cleaning Brush (store.detailking.com/best-leather-cleaning-brush-sponge) which works just as well as the Horse Hair Brush
hi! how do steam on leather? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Depending on how bad the seat is simply hit it with the steamer then apply product and scrub. If the seat is not that bad you can possibly get the job done by only steaming.
Hi can this apply to perforated leather ???
Son Nguyen yes, spray it on your cloth instead of directly to the seat. just be sure not to get it soaking wet
Why is the detailing word so obsessed with leaving leather (and interior plastics) shiny? When new cars leave the showroom floor, the leather isn't shiny. It has a nice mat finish. Why doesn't anyone come up with a way of keeping leather like new- as in like the way it came from the dealer and not slimy looking?
Did you notice that the seat that shown in the beginning at :29 is has so many cracks, filthy and different color, but the seat he is cleaning looks almost new, no cracks and black in color.
Yes that was a picture to demonstrate what a cracked and faded leather seat could look like. Just as Matt was explaining what could happen to your seat if not cared for properly.
Dont modern leather seats have a clear coat on them?
+mygtxful No they all need to be cleaned and conditioned
Matthew Reimer You may want to research that. Cream conditioners will never penetrate new type leather seats. I just learned this myself about 2 years ago.
+mygtxful how about on a 2000? Is that old enough to use it?
***** 95% of all cars manufactured after 1997 have a vinyl coating over the leather. They still need regular cleaning but creams only condition the vinyl because it cant penetrate the micro perforation. Use a liquid conditioner to penetrate the and hydrate the leather.
lexol spray is a good product and I recommend it. Dont use the Lexol cream that you squeeze out of a bottle.
I've seen others say that before, but doesn't leather need to breathe? Seems like if it had a coating on it, it would seal it and allow it to breathe. I've also heard of people de-bunking claims of PH balanced. If it its PH balanced..that tells me it's neutral on the PH scale. That would be a good thing as far as leather goes IMO.
You are gorgeous
So this is what glenn rhee did before the apocalypse.... Rip glenn maggie loves you
where can i get that lexol in the uk
JUAN_IS _DADDY They've got some Lexol products on Amazon.co.uk
tank you
Thank u for the video. What about seats with holes for heating and cooling? Do u also use water first? Thanks
Sure. Just don't drench it. Run the seat fan afterwards if you are really worried
Yeas ,cleaning clean leather ,it's for real
Seriously
God I love all the people on here talking shit like bro did you just get on youtube to act like an expert? Make a channel then, genius
Brands always clean already clean things. If you wanna impress me, clean a hardcore dirty leather car seat. Then, I will buy anything you sell.
I feel bad for the electronic parts in the car lmfaoo salvage now it have electrical problems with all that water
I was here to see how to clean my car, but i couldn't concentrate 😍 😅
He is fineeeeee
He can detail my car anytime.
Luis Murillo ha....gayyyyyyyyyyy
First thing, that's a fairly new car, second too much water and third i'm not seeing any dirt on towel.
WD40 works wonders too
The chemical guys dude said that leather isn't supposed to shine
Simple easy way to get your new seat greasy as fuck with the PH neutral cleaners and tire shines, my bad, conditioners 🤣😂
Would this damage perforated leather seats ???
Damn he can come wash my car any day
Detail Mark Dacascos
Tag left on the cloth!!
+Bader AlShafei who are you
8:40 - you Can ruin the heated seats by pushing hard Down on them
***** Just saying, I ruined mine in my car because I had a knee in the seat.
+Daniel San what car was it? That should definitely not happen that's normal and it would have been tested so don't know how that would have happened
Well if you read your owners manual, then it says that you shouldn't do it.
+Daniel San what car was it and what year I have been in many German cars with both I have put my whole wait on it many times as do many people in cars
I doubt modern seats are that sensitive that heated seats will break because of a little bit of weight.
How to clean a clean seat.
Leather hates water. I apply the Lexol conditioner only. It is detergent enough to remove any dirt by itself.
