I mixed 2 oz of Woolite with 6 oz of warm water in a spray bottle to clean my favorite leather jacket and the results were phenomenal and it looked brand-new when I was done. I was careful not to oversaturate the Leather by spraying onto the microfiber cloth then wiping the jacket. Thank you for this information
I commented saying the same I use it for leather shoes and I’ve my own mixes with jojoba oil and coconut oil mixed with the detergent for non coated leathers and coated leathers it works well with both. The oils help with replenishing conditioners into the leather on the non coated stuff and even on the coated stuff it seems to help with preventing the leather from drying out. I’ve found you don’t necessarily need wool it’s but a detergent free of fragrances and all the additives which basically applies to all the hypoallergenic detergents.
@@derekcolvin9944 no problem the reason I tried the oils mixed into the detergent mixture is because that's what a lot of the popular shoe cleaners are using these days. Reshoevenator, Crep, Angelus and Jason marks all use the same in their shoe cleaners albeit in their proprietary mixtures and they don't tell you exactly what detergents their using but it really doesn't make a big difference what matters most is playing with the mix and getting the amounts just right for what your looking to do with it. I make mines pretty concentrated because I find it easier to do that then water it down when necessary vs doing the opposite.

Thanks so much for the information. Scott this is the first time I’ve seen this demo.. Eagle Products used to put out a product called Eagle 1 Leather Creme. It cleaned and conditioned leather and made it smell brand New!! I wish they still made the product. An Elderly Gentleman that worked at the Cadillac dealership since he was a kid recommended the leather creme - he said “it was like putting lotion on your skin!” My leather stayed soft, pliable and never cracked or dried out. O’Reilley auto parts introduced me to another Leather Cleaner and conditioner and it does a great job and the leather smells like new! Griot’s Garage Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. The diluted woolite would leave a delicate clean smell which is what the Cadillac Dealer and Lexus detailers used. Thanks so much for the information.
I watched your video yesterday and bought some wool wash that day. Very happy with the results. I topped it with a conditioner and it looks great. Thanks for the tip. The brand you suggest is not available in Australia but Martha’s Wool Wash is, and that works great.
This absolutely works. I used this with some dollar store magic eraser pads on some hammered, beige, 2008 BMW X3 seats, with great results. thanks for sharing!
Be careful using eraser pads on finished leather. The eraser pads will actually remove the clear sealant from the surface of the leather, and yeah it will look great for a while but with the sealant stripped off you'll run in to trouble down the road with that leather. Much better to just wipe with a regular cloth.
Scott, you are a great guy to share this information. Yes, a Hero to me. Thank you for your Grand Effort and Teaching. I am using this on two white leather office chairs. Again, Thank You.
In essence, you are using mild soap and water to clean. I have a 2014 Lincoln MKS and this is what they recommend for cleaning. Thanks for the great information you post.

I like your thorough descriptions. It's funny, but I am a woman who loves cleaning cars, so I pretty much clean all of the family's cars. Since I keep them clean, it only take me 10 or 15 minutes a week to maintain them. It makes going to work much easier when I get in a car that is always clean and organized and smells good. These videos are awesome for someone like me. You do talk like Howard Stern and his voice makes him millions, so keep talking.
I did some work at a leather manufacturing place, the old guy there gave me a tip years ago and it's the best i've ever tried out of all the products, and that soap flakes. There got that out right away lol. truts me it does a brilliant job and it leaves a kind of waxy feel to the leather also like when they're new.
QUESTION: leather seats are plastic coated, so how do you condition the seats? How ould the conditioner go through this plastic coating and be effective?
Just a suggestion to share: we have horses and have been maintaining very expensive leather goods -- bridles, saddles which are $5k retail, custom made boots, harness -- with castile soap and a bit of water. The tack is cleaned every time it is used. Tooth brushes for the small areas. a lightly dampened sponge for the large spaces. Important to clean the leather every use because the horse's sweat has salt in it and this simple soap gets the salt off while conditioning the leather. I've used this on the leather of my cars for years. Doesn't rot the stitching, doesn't change the color regardless of whether the leather is dark or light color, and no need to rinse. Inexpensive like Woolite. Comes in bars like any soap. We don't use it on fabrics. Just on leather of any kind and especially very fine leather like the French calf of boots and shoes and finely made harness and tack.
Long video but I enjoyed listening to your radio DJ voice. I try to avoid very aggressive off the shelf cleaning products, so Thank You for this practical & mild cleaning tip.
I been doing similar washing leather goods and shoes using similar products. I use a laundry detergent cleaner that is free of fragrance and all the other B’s. I use it in a foam pump when I want it to foam. I find you do need to mix some of them strong but it does indeed work well.
If you don't have Woolite, they say to use Dawn dishwashing liquid for your clothes. Well I just dried a couple of drops straight on a stain on leather loafers that has been there for over a year and it is actually lightening. I'm using a washcloth to rub it in and then using an abrasive dish scrubber.

Hello scot my name is Marιοs greatings from europe Greece , your videos are like school to me , congratulations on your love and respect to your job, please cannyou tell me what other surfaces younar using the woolite inside the car?? Carpets??? Seats????
Lexus recommends using Woolite and water to clean their leather in the owners manual, for mild stains it is good, for caked/burnt on stains it does not work very well, I found Wolfgang leather cleaner was good for harder stains.
Woolite, and common household cleaners without bleach,, cannot harm the synthetic stitching used in cars. But some with high pH will make the color coating discolor, become tacky, or strip the coating off. An excellent leather cleaner is available from ADV Leather.
hey here's a thought, within 10 seconds you can say everybody mix a portion of Woolite with water in a spray bottle works great on leather end of story
This DOES work. Just purchased a pre-owned Honda CR-V with black leather interior. The driver seat, the driver armrest and steering wheel are shinny. I used the "Hand Wash Delicate" Woolite (pink & white bottle) 1:5 distilled water with a tooth brush, like you did. The crap that came off of the seats was this greenish black dirt. Seats look amazing. The armrest which I think might be vinyl, is still a little shiny probably from constant rubbing or burnishing. I think a gentle swipe of a magic eraser will take care of that. Thanks for the tip. After using this solution however, I did use a wet towel to wipe off the soap residue.
Thank you so much , i’m going to clean my red car interioir looking burgandy already. Also i’m goingbto clean some of my Louis Vuitton bags that i thought i’d be throwing them away. :)
Scott, I have rubbed the white off a small section on drivers seat from sliding in and out of car. It’s a bald brown spot on white leather How can I fix this ? Is there something I can do or can I have it professionally dyed back white? I have a 2010 G37 convertible with 32k - it’s a keeper for us.

Thanks very much I will try it on my new/used Cadillac Escalade that has very light leather (Slate). Awesome video. I've always been worried what leather cleaners can do to my car seat, so I buy the more expensive stuff. I love the idea of Woolite and distilled water! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Scott I have a 2010 Mercedes E-350 with tan leather. How can I tell if it’s plastic coated? Is doesn’t feel or look like it. Just wanna make sure I’m cleaning and treating it correctly. Thanks in advance. Btw love you and your channel.
All joking aside if you have darker carpet or leather would Woolite Dark be a better choice? Or does it even matter? Just worried regular woolite might fade or discolor black leather in my car Thanks
I have perforated leather seats... I had my 3rd row seats laid down and a cooler in the back that leaked and didn't know it. I started smelling something musty and decided to clean my whole car. When I lifted my seats they were covered in green and black mold. It smelled so bad I took the bottom seat completely out of my car. I tried to clean with my cleaner as best I could. The seats are stained from mold and still stinks. What do I do??? I wanted to get it cleaned before the twins arrive!! Please help!!!!
Love your videos, I only clean my own cars but am a detailer at heart. By any chance do you know if Porsche leather is coated? I have the base model leather in my wife’s Macan, it’s not the fancy upgraded leather interior.
Scott, does a 2004 Cadillac DeVille have that plastic coating on the leather? If not, then what leather cleaner do you recommend? Thanks for responding.
Oh, Scott. All these years and I still go back to your videos. Come back, friend. You're missed

What’s good for the those lines in leather? My car is over 10 yrs old.
All joking aside if you have darker carpet or leather would Woolite Dark be a better choice? Or does it even matter? Just worried regular woolite might fade or discolor black leather in my car
Thanks
Do you treat the seats with anything else after the cleaning, like super detailed or another product?
I have perforated leather seats... I had my 3rd row seats laid down and a cooler in the back that leaked and didn't know it. I started smelling something musty and decided to clean my whole car. When I lifted my seats they were covered in green and black mold. It smelled so bad I took the bottom seat completely out of my car. I tried to clean with my cleaner as best I could. The seats are stained from mold and still stinks. What do I do??? I wanted to get it cleaned before the twins arrive!! Please help!!!!
Have you ever used lemon pledge furniture polish on the inside of a vehicle?
how do youknow if it's coated or non coated leather?
I got one for you Scott, how can you easily handle the hairline cracks on a lexus gx470 dash? -Dallas
Love your videos, I only clean my own cars but am a detailer at heart. By any chance do you know if Porsche leather is coated? I have the base model leather in my wife’s Macan, it’s not the fancy upgraded leather interior.
Awesome recommendation. What conditioner/protectant do you recommend ?
Scott, does a 2004 Cadillac DeVille have that plastic coating on the leather? If not, then what leather cleaner do you recommend? Thanks for responding.
great video Scott. I am assuming that Woolite would work great on cloth seats as well?
Which woolite though. There are so many of them. Here in canada I never seen the product in your hand either
Cleaning for me is now my work out - gets two things I hate out of the way in one shot
