If you’re wondering what he’s spraying on the Magic Eraser, it’s Spray 9 that is diluted 5:1. He mentions it at 3:50. Many people keep commenting and asking what product he’s spraying on it. Obviously they didn’t listen and/or skimmed through the video.

Very little elbow grease but a lot of great results, sure wished I would've looked this up a few years ago. Now the new owner will benefit.
Who would have known a magic eraser could be used on leather????!!!! Great video! Thanks!!! And the advice about the protector, excellent advice. Thank you!
Yep. I pulled out my magic sponge today because I was so frustrated with this 17 year old car i was trying to clean. Worked beautifully. I used dollar store degreaser in some areas of the leather that were really bad.
Bought a 2016 Lexus 350, driver's seat was badly soiled and scuffed. I first tried TriNova and a Horse Hair brush, not very effective. Then I saw your video ... it made a difference. I may eventually have to have them re-upholstered but the seats are alot more presentable because of your video, Thanks !
Just did this on my car. My seats were not as bad as the ones in the video but my drivers seat was about 50% as bad. Still a nice improvement. And protected with ICE Interior Detailer and Protectant
I see a lot of opposition on forums when it comes to magic eraser on leather, but I use it with great success. On leather seats I palm it as you did in the video, and the gliding action will tell you how much pressure to use without grinding into the seat. Keep the good stuff going my detailing brother.

Nearly all car leather is actually coated with a variation of plastic, so cleaning and protection are really relating to what is safest for that top layer. Once the lower leather dries or cracks from age, heat, and UV damage, little is going to help.

Thank you! My 4 series coupe has a nasty drivers seat and I’m tired of paying for it to be “detailed” but look like crap after. I have these magic erasers in my house and can’t wait to try it on the a.m.!!
Just test an inconspicuous first to make sure the seats have not been re dyed. not much pressure will be needed at all...just drag the eraser across the surface.
Good video. I have a 2002 BMW 525i E39 I picked up from an old couple that bought it new. The front two seats are really dirty. Never cleaned and conditioned. Trying to restore them and this info helps.
These are some of the most satisfying transformations, light colored leather that is trashed. Customers are always blow away with the transformation. Nice job. I have a broken in white non abrasive cleaning pad with APC currently, I'll give this a try.
My pleasure Rich!! I try not to use a cleaner when using the magic eraser method. Hardly ever need it. But my Spray Nine disinfects and sanitizes all that stuff on the seat.
Looks great however with the dirty part of the sponge that is going over thread , makes the thread on leather look more and more dingy and dirty. Maybe I can clean the dirt off sponge before going over thread.:) Great job!!! Looks beautiful, thank you!
Looks so beautiful my friend from what you started with going to do that to my V-6 2000 Accord with only 72,000 miles keeping it for another 20yrs have a lease on another car things keep falling apart turning it in next month and stick with my Accord probably out live me reason for low mileage live 1 block away from work keep up the great videos my friend!
Wow! Just swat those conditioners down by saying, "They don't do squat." That's what I need. I need to know when a product that's sold to all of us DIYers is garbage. Thanks, Brian!
Amazing information for leather. Spray nine product works great. I would have never thought about using a magic eraser. My Honda Accord tan leather will be next. Will advise and update later. Thanks
The majority of the cleaning action is coming from the magic eraser as it is an abrasive (which is why LIGHT pressure is important.) The cleaner is acting as an additional help and a lubricant. Think of it like very very light wet sanding in a way.
Being in the detailing business for 15 years prior to owning my upholstery shop for the last 13, i can assure you that a good leather conditioner will penetrate the thin vinyl coating on automotive leathers.
Thanks for the tips. Just what I needed to attack my 2008 Ford explorer seats. Your intro music is also used by a cool British hobby machinist Enots Engineering.
It cleaned it up reall good although i did notice it picked up some of theh factory dye(small specs) but overall it did good. Maybe i didnt dilute it enough. I kept in mind that the seats are 20years old though, and they do look 100x better at least.
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried a magic eraser on your skin, but a few scrubs and it’s tearing your skin off. I think the soft bristle brush would be much gentler.
Man I really wish I'd found this video back when I first got my caddy deville. The seats were gross and in attempt to clean them I pulled some dye off the leather. But the good news I bought a caddy seville now and I now know how to fix it.
I ran across your videos by accident. We own a Audi Q5 with a leather interior my wife is an ocd/ germaphobe-nut and this looks like the perfect way to clean the interiors hard surfaces after service work has been performed On the vehicle. The one detail that everyone seems to miss and using the Magic Eraser is how you leave it soaking. So i've seen countless others recommend not using the magic eraser on leather. Thanks and we'll see you in the next video.
Brian, you make it look oh so easy! I've been detailing cars for more than 40 years... I've also used the magic eraser on leather seats! I think the key is to have the eraser soaking in water before using because I encountered my erasers easily tearing apart! Of course I'm mostly retired now, but I do have a handful of cars (including my own) that I care for, so I'll be trying out the eraser again when I clean up one of my Town Cars. I will say that in this video, the after you cleaned the seat did not look as clean as the "completely finished" seat at the end of the video...i.e. the sides of the seat.. around the headrest.. were still dirty looking at first. Just saying.. but it looked pretty good when finished!
Magic Eraser works, but its not a soap like chemical. It basically a mild abrasive. Its essentially sandpaper, extremely fine. I would try a PH balanced chemical cleaner then I would try a steam machine prior to using the magic eraser. Magic eraser as last resort.
wow that works well... subscribed! lol quick question though. those seats have "cracks" in them from driver getting out. The vid never really showed how this worked on that spot. I have that issue and hoping to avoid paint. Searched your other videos but didn't see anything on that problem. Any advice? you can see the cracks at 0:19 easily.
Magic erasers come in a box. They have been made with a cleaner built in. HE SOAKED THE ERASER TO GET the soap out and INTO THE DISH OF WATER...that is creating the suds. I think just water in spray bottle. Good luck.
I thought that was just water in the spray bottle too, until you listen to the beginning and you will see he said "he sprays the cleaning solution onto the magic cleaning sponge.. so being that water and cleaning solution are 2 different things there might be something else in the bottle
Thank you very much! I was just quoted $150 per cushion for my glider rocker with 3 cushions! I told him I thought the price was a bit high. He responded “GOOD LUCK TO YOU” I think I found the LUCK!

Great video! That QE-3 was nearly $100 a bottle. Did some research and came up with Meguiars G190526 Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray for $15 plus $6 shipping on Amazon. Found all the rest of the stuff on Amazon pretty cheap too. Can't wait to start on my abused 2006 Audi a4 that I traded my perfectly good running 2003 Stratus for, as soon as it gets out of the shop. Ceramic wax is supposed to be super good for paint too. My seats are way dirtier!
Glad you asked! I didn't buy it because after researching I found it wasn't a true ceramic wax. Instead I purchased something called "Hocossy liquid nanno coating" It was a true ceramic wax and cost around 25 dollars for a 1 ounce bottle. It took 1/3 oz to do the paint on my entire Audi; but those leather seats soaked too much up after doing a small test area. The car is in the shop and the seats are unsealed. I think I might use a cheap Armorall type product on them next time I clean them. The magic eraer worked wonderful by the way! I bought 500 of the cheap ones from China and now use them to clean my entire apartment complex!
That is possibly caused by the effects of the UV rays on the pigments in the paint leather causing the change in shade. There is not much that can be done about that.
He mentions he is using a cleaner called "Spray Nine" -- I used it on a 1999 Tahoe and it does an amazing job of cleaning grimy surfaces. I bought it at Home Depot, 32 oz spray bottle for about $6

Absolutely brilliant Brian!!! Love the end result!!!
I don’t know how you kept that magic eraser from disintegrating mine always do
Mine too
Two reasons:
You're pushing too hard and/or you're buying knockoff cheap versions that are significantly less dense
Soak it in water before using, and don’t apply too much pressure, let the easer do it’s job
What exactly are you spraying in that sponge?
About 3:50 in he says its spray nine 5:1 ratio

Thanks for another informative and practical vid Brian!.. You rock!
Even your older videos are awesome.
I agree it would be nice to know what cleaner are you using on that magic eraser
Anthony Guess he said in the video. Spray nine diluted 5:1
Awesome video! Straight the the point and very good information.
Magic Eraser works, but its not a soap like chemical. It basically a mild abrasive. Its essentially sandpaper, extremely fine. I would try a PH balanced chemical cleaner then I would try a steam machine prior to using the magic eraser. Magic eraser as last resort.
Is it the eraser, or the cleaning agent you're using though? Every time I've used a magic eraser it basically does nothing.
Brian what solution u have in that bottle ? CAn I use regular interior cleaner or a degreaser or ONR mixture ? I would think so
He says it's spray nine at some point. I've seen Wilson's detailing use a degreaser, super clean I think, with a magic eraser. Similar results.
Thank you Brian (glad the music choice is better nowadays 😉)

would steam speed up the process with this dirty of a seat?
Just wondering if a soft rotating brush would chase the dark stains out of the seams? Particularly on the thigh supporting area.

How did the Meguiars G190526 Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray work? the QP-One 3.0 on Amazon is $179.95. ouch! Thanks

I have a 96 Corvette and the tan leather is very hard and stuff, what is your recommendation to make the leather softy again?
Yes
Are you just using water? Or is there another chemical you are using with the water?
What is the solution the spray bottle? Diluted soap? Vinegar? Or just water?
Great vid! Do you have any recommendations for removing yellowing from beige leather? The same color as the seats of this video.
That is possibly caused by the effects of the UV rays on the pigments in the paint leather causing the change in shade.
There is not much that can be done about that.

Great video ! But it looks like there are still dirty areas... And what do you do about the stitches that looks quite dirty ?
Thank you in advance !
Great video. Can you post a link to the cleaner?
He mentions he is using a cleaner called "Spray Nine" -- I used it on a 1999 Tahoe and it does an amazing job of cleaning grimy surfaces. I bought it at Home Depot, 32 oz spray bottle for about $6
This has cleaned my soul
