If you’re wondering what he’s spraying on the Magic Eraser, it’s Spray 9 that is diluted 5:1. He mentions it at 3:50. Many people keep commenting and asking what product he’s spraying on it. Obviously they didn’t listen and/or skimmed through the video.

Have white leather in a BMW, getting ready to sell and no one has been able to clean it, my husband was embarrassed to ride with me, we have dogs so I blame them, but I followed his directions EXACTLY and WOWSERS, super impressed. Very little elbow grease but a lot of great results, sure wished I would've looked this up a few years ago. Now the new owner will benefit.

  • @michaelnorris7193

Brian, you make it look oh so easy! I've been detailing cars for more than 40 years... I've also used the magic eraser on leather seats! I think the key is to have the eraser soaking in water before using because I encountered my erasers easily tearing apart! Of course I'm mostly retired now, but I do have a handful of cars (including my own) that I care for, so I'll be trying out the eraser again when I clean up one of my Town Cars. I will say that in this video, the after you cleaned the seat did not look as clean as the "completely finished" seat at the end of the video...i.e. the sides of the seat.. around the headrest.. were still dirty looking at first. Just saying.. but it looked pretty good when finished!

Nearly all car leather is actually coated with a variation of plastic, so cleaning and protection are really relating to what is safest for that top layer. Once the lower leather dries or cracks from age, heat, and UV damage, little is going to help.

I see a lot of opposition on forums when it comes to magic eraser on leather, but I use it with great success. On leather seats I palm it as you did in the video, and the gliding action will tell you how much pressure to use without grinding into the seat. You'll also see the majic eraser start to pull up the dirt as you progress... like a clay bar on paint. Soaking in water to soften does make a big difference. Keep the good stuff going my detailing brother.

Thanks again on another informative video. Can you help me clarify some confusion I have: I’ve heard from various detailers that some of the “newer” luxury cars already comes with a factory sealant over the leather- one of which, I was told was on my 2019 Audi A6. Car is always garaged and leather looks brand new, as I usually just maintain it with mild 20:1 Woolite Delicate + water.
Should I do a proper leather cleaner, conditioner, sealant now? I know Gyeon and CarPro, for example, have some leather “sealant” now. Sorry, it’s a little confusing hearing different opinions from professional detailers.

Can you use mink oil to protect your leather seats. I use to use it on cowboy boots and saddles and its good stuff.

Being in the detailing business for 15 years prior to owning my upholstery shop for the last 13, i can assure you that a good leather conditioner will penetrate the thin vinyl coating on automotive leathers.

great job! what do you use to "protect" the seat? I have some professional grade leather conditioner that i use normally (not autozone crap)--is there something else you would suggest?

I ran across your videos by accident. We own a Audi Q5 with a leather interior my wife is an ocd/ germaphobe-nut and this looks like the perfect way to clean the interiors hard surfaces after service work has been performed
On the vehicle. The one detail that everyone seems to miss and using the Magic Eraser is how you leave it soaking. So i've seen countless others recommend not using the magic eraser on leather.
Thanks and we'll see you in the next video.

I guess a good cleaning every week or so for maintenance but how often should you apply qp on 3.0?. By the way this was a very informative video, thank you.

Nice job. How does it compare to Mother's VLR? I need to get really thick black stuff of my steering wheel. Got the car 2nd hand and it didn't get cleaned up. Thanks.

I Would like to know, can I clean the leather (spray9) then use a leather conditioner (chemical guys) then follow up with QP 3.0? ..... I’ll really appreciate your response .. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, can you use the QP-ON 3.0 as a replacement for something like a wax coating? Or, do you need the 2.0 underneath first?
