  • Did you know that proper cleaning and conditioning is crucial to keeping leather looking its best? Neglected leather dries out, cracks, and fades; dirty leather shines and shimmers from body oil grease contamination. When cleaned, conditioned, and cared for properly, leather feels smooth, looks silky, and smells fresh and luxurious. Regular use of the leather care products keeps leather looking clean, feeling silky smooth, and soft and supple to resist cracking and breaking prematurely. To properly nourish and protect leather, you must first clean away any oils and impurities with Leather Cleaner. Leather Cleaner lifts and emulsifies dirt, oils, and grease from deep within the pores of natural and synthetic leather upholstery and accessories. The pH-balanced formula won’t stain leather or change the texture, and is safe for natural leather, durable sealed leather, and synthetic leather materials.

    Hi guys, great video as always. I recently heard that all leather has a barrier between the leather and the surface. Is this true and if so is the conditioner reaching the leather? Thanks.

    I got my first fully loaded vehicle with leather 10 months ago and I never cleaned the leather like what is shown in the video (I know...I'm a terrible person). In my defense, I've never in my life learned what I have learned in just a few short months thanks to @chemicalGuys and the great videos they put out. I got my Chem Guys leather care kit recently and I look forward to actually taking proper care of my vehicle. On a side note, I got the leather cleaner, conditioner, and serum. What order do I apply the conditioner and serum in? Also, how do I clean my horse hair brush when I'm done? I appreciate everything you guys do to teach us newbies!

    • @Lukas-io4wt
      @Lukas-io4wt 6 місяців тому +1

      Clean to remove all contaminants, conditions to add moisture to the leather, then serum to seal the moisture in. After using the horse hair brush you can just rinse the brush in water and you should be good to let air dry

    Guys - ‘conditioning’ auto leather seats and the plethora of ‘conditioning’ products on the market is one of the biggest misunderstood marketing gimmicks in the trade.
    Most modern automotive leather seats actually have a very think impregnated coating of plastic, which gives the leather durability and protection.
    When we apply these so called conditioners, in the vast number of cases (unless an old classic car), the conditioner is simply being applied atop of this plastic coating on the leather, and doesn’t penetrate the actual leather itself - hence why the seats feel greasy/oily for a long time after it’s applied.
    A leather couch is typically different and is usually raw natural leather.
    It irks me these companies spruk all these products on the market but are essentially doing little more than applying an oily film atop the plastic coating on the leather.

    Leather seats are treated with a coating from the factory. They don't absorb anything.

    So, I figured this is probably the best place to talk to someone from the chemical guys company. Been trying for almost a month to get a return label that I was approved to get. 2 weeks later I noticed I never received the email for the return label so I call in and get told I will be getting a new one, never got it either. Waited another week and called again and got hung up on after being told I would get "another" email. That never came. I called again the next day and the person responsible for the call back ignored me after I answered and received no call back or email. I am no longer seeking a replacement or my money back, I just want people to know that I would trust a crackhead with my 3 year old before I trust this company again. Thank you
