Just to clarify some things:
We don't actually know exactly how much money Verbalase spent on the animation.
The animation was meant to be on a new channel he was planning on making where there was going to be more adult content, but he gave up on the idea and deleted the channel and video.
The animation was made 3 years ago, and only now was it reuploaded on Verbalase's birthday.
Verbalase did not go bankrupt from this. He has made a lot of money from his cartoon beatbox battles and is not going broke any time soon as far as I know.
I will edit this comment if I got something wrong, just remember not to trust EVERYTHING you hear on the internet.
I think he all but conformed it not going broke but how much he spent then again I might be remembering another channel so take what I said with a grain of salt.
Those are indeed his claims, maybe evidence to the contrary would arise but as far as i know he showed the dates in his apology while the evidence for it being a personal video is absolute zero and literally just speculation that's wide spread.
He didn't state it wasn't 50k and that doesn't seem absurd considering his other animated works are apparently in that ball park, if it was significantly less that would actually be surprising because his animations in general seem quite expensive, i see no reason for this one to not be the same.
It's sort of irrelevant given the context that it was for youtube, that point only really matters if it were bankrupting him and it was a personal video, neither of which have evidence of being true.
I'm confused because wasn't it CONFIRMED (with receipts) in Saberspark's video that this AMV was purely self-indulgent content and he had no plans of releasing it at all?

He was contemplating releasing the video, and as we know he indeed did release it as that's how it was leaked at all because someone had seen it when it went up.
He says specifically that he's uploaded it to youtube but it's private and he wasn't sure what peoples reaction would be and wasn't certain of posting it.
This makes it very clear he had intentions of posting it and that's why it was made, but he wasn't entirely certain when push came to shove.
You can see in the emails how excited he was by the project and for it to be made, he only really shows any hesitation after it's done and ready to go public.
If you still think it was just a private video for himself, ask yourself, why would he upload it to youtube at all even privated? Why would he of all things unprivate it on that channel and make it public?
It makes no sense for it to simply be a private video for himself, even those emails confirm as much and this lines up with his apology video explanation just fine.
As a transfem I appreciate Pig talking about the weird shit Verbalase said about trans people. A lot of other videos covering the situation don’t even mention that detail and live in ignorance of that, so thank you very much ^^

Yes! It's definitely a great watch imo, and an amazing feat as it's one of the few indie-animations to make it big and get accepted by a streaming service (which Vivzie and co deserve props for)! ^^
It has it's flaws with the pacing and it might not be everyone's cup of tea (but that can be said for almost any movie/show), but it was still an awesome experience to me and worth the watch/support!

I really hope Verbalase is being sincere about the apology because I can definitely relate to that, back in 2016 when everyone was being as edgy as possible I thought making fun of trans people was the funniest fuckin thing ever but then I actually grew up and realized how fucked up that is. We all have probably gone through phases of ignorance like that and listening to other views can be a tough pill to swallow but he seems to have been regretful of his words.
Yeah I'm hoping he's sincere about that apology as well, I didn't even know the guy existed before this but I understand ignorance can draw people to some wild conclusions and misconceptions. Falling into that pit isn't the problem since everyone does it sooner or later with something, the question is whether people choose to crawl back out or double down when they realize they're there, but getting out can happen and I'm happy for everyone that does, though disappointed in those that choose not to. Too tired to hate the latter group though, would rather spend my energy on those that have a chance to change. This from a former transphobe and homophobe who was just parroting what I was taught as a kid before I realized, wait a minute... If I'm not trans I'm gay, but no, I'm panromantic and still trans because who cares to choose, personality first ^^'. Ignorance really does breed fear and hate, it's knowledge that allows us to realize we're all human regardless of how we identify or who we love and for me, it definitely put quite the new perspective to realize it was primarily fear because rejection scares me, but most of my family are completely chill so it was just wasted energy fighting all along and so much easier to accept this new normal ^^
True, everyone goes through times when they're ignorant and mess-up (and some of us come to regret the mistakes we used to make in the past). I remember when I was a teenager, was new to art/drawing, and had uploaded some tracings of other people's artwork while not fully aware of what copyright issues were yet (this was a couple decades ago, back in ye olde DeviantArt times).
I've long since taken down those tracings and regretted my choices, but now I don't post little-to-any artwork out of fear that (even if I take responsibility for what I've done as a dumb teenager), it'd still come to bite me in the ass and kill my art career before it takes off (and I also don't post artwork for other anxious reasons too).
People can sometimes make mistakes, but unfortunately some mistakes are really big ones that are hard to make up for and the Internet/social media isn't often a forgiving place (Twitter may be infamous for it, but it's unfortunately not the only one)... 0_0

I was playing VRChat recently, I saw a bunch of people in Hazbin Hotel avatars so I decided to join them with a new Charlie avatar I found, I wasnt really that aware of this whole situation but everyone imediatly swarmed me, yelling stuff in my ear, it was scary and I had to just get out of there. Sometimes things get taken too far.

I WILL say, the amount paid does make a LOT more sense if he was planning on distributing it because it would suggest that the artist might have taken an upfront lump sum instead of royalties (maybe I’m wrong about that considering it’s sort of animated fanfic??? I just haven’t heard about any legal stuff from the Hazbin team in all my strenuous research of…reading every third post and watching a single video I came across on my TL)
Nothing against the animator but if I were to be paying 50k for an animation of something I would want to go crazy and get a animation company to do it for that money.
Still have to give the animator huge props for doing this project for sure, I can only imagine how long it must've taken them that payout is crazy.

I lot of artist I know still order art commissions from other artist. Partially to support fellow talents, partially because sometimes you have an idea but don’t want to do it yourself. Or maybe you want to receive it as a “gift”.

The video was intended for a new youtube channel which he ultimately decided to not follow through with, he did upload the video but deleted it alongside that channel because he wanted to make an adult channel but as i said he decided to not go with that idea.
This whole situation is blown out of proportion really, yes it's wierd but the narrative that it's a personal fetish video that he went bankrupt for is incorrect, this video was made over a year ago so the bankrupcy thing makes no sense.

It may not be animated but I'm also a down bad cartoon lover for a certain 'toon. I was blessed by that character's voice actress to give me a personal sound byte of her character talking to me. And on top of all that iv sketched the toon since I was in 9th grade so I can draw her anytime I want(never gross! Mamma raised me with respect) but I achieved my dream for close to free...and it didn't/hasn't costed me no dam 60 thous. Thank you very much!

I wish more allies talked about and educated those who are ignorant of queer and especially trans issues. I've spent a decade having to constantly justify my existence and my right to live as a transgender person to people. I've met a lot of people who were willing to learn and grow but lately its been so difficult because people who I thought were supportive or at least neutral have been sucked into this hate fueled machine. My own grandpa thinks I shouldn't exist when he used to be fine, all because Fox News has rotted his brain out. It's just--so exhausting feeling like you have to fight your way through life when you just wish people could move on. I am in the process of fleeing the only state I have ever lived in because they want to make my existence and medicine illegal. Adding on top of it teaching people how to be better humans... it really is hard at times to be willing and empathetic to people who are there saying really hateful and hurtful things that are letting our rights as humans dissolve all because they want to believe the worst in us. I work with kids every day and I have only talked about sexuality with a teenagers who approached me without knowing I am queer but needing support from a safe adult since at home wasn't. Part of my job has been fighting to get kids out of abusive homes while the people calling us groomers are destroying the avenues that help kids get out of bad situations (a lot of red states have been silently destroying CPS and making CPS as useless as people are told it is because so much abuse happens in really conservative communities and the politicians are trying to protect their voter base that doesn't believe child abuse exists unless it's gay or trans people). I appreciate you not being afraid to challenge hateful and ignorant narratives and be a step in educating people and encouraging them to do better. When allies handle those initial barriers to understanding for us, when they reach actual queer people we aren't burdened with trying to justify our right to live without violence and can actually focus on providing a more rounded education.
At the end of the day all I want is to be able to live without fear of being harmed because someone hates me based on something I cannot control. I want to enjoy life and find a life partner to settle down with somewhere nice with plenty of fun things to do. I'm not a "sexual deviant", I have had one sexual encounter since I turned 18 and it was with another trans person and pretty vanilla. I'm a regular ass person, my experiences and the lens I live my life through are a bit different but most of that difference is caused by how I have been treated and not my identity itself.
Anyway, thank you again for pointing out ignorance and being willing to say something. I watched this video after a really rough day of wondering if I'll ever get to have the quiet life I want and seeing people who aren't directly effected by the violence and hatred we face every day being able to recognize it and challenge it helps me keep going. I hope even just one person will see this and consider actually learning about trans people and our lived experiences. It would make my heart happy to see things move in a positive direction even by an inch.

I am so glad that Pig isn't one of those people blindly hating Verblase. Yeah, what Verblase did and said was totally insane and that's not how I would have spent 50 grand, but he's not a monster. Channels that try so hard to paint him as some deranged loser far attached from reality are the ones really getting clowned on here. Also yea I was really surprised when I saw and started hearing about what Verbalase had did on UA-cam a few days before the first four episodes of Hazbin Hotel came out but I don't think that makes him a scumbag or a gross guy or anything awful like that. Just someone with different taste and should have probably held that taste back(if possible) and hid it better and kept it in the that area for those times.

i had a brief experience meeting verbalase in an elevator at winter NAMM 2020 (a convention for musical manufacturers and music professionals). he performed at one of the outdoor stages at NAMM wearing a ridiculous red outfit with mirrors on it all. he was clearly talented, but the performance was rather cringe. later in the day or maybe the next day i went into the elevator at the convention center and the elevator stopped at the floor before the one i was getting off at. verbalase walked into the elevator with some friends of his or his management and i blurted out “are you the beatboxing guy?”. verbalase’s eyes lit up and he said “y-y-y-yes I am!” and did beatboxing sound effects. i tried to hold in my laughter, but i laughed right in his face. i felt so guilty because i saw his heart break as i laughed. i had no idea who he was at the time, but found out after my friend showed me the thanos beatboxing meme and the tetris meme. still felt bad for a while afterwards, but now i feel so good about it knowing that i (a transwoman) humiliated verbalase in front of his friends or management or whoever he was with.

On the note of educating people when they make honest mistakes, I just wanna let you know that the term "j*pped" (or "g*ped" however you want to spell it) in terms of tricking or scamming people is something you might want to avoid. It comes from "g*psy," a common slur for Romani people. I know some Romani people are okay with that word (as far as I'm aware, it may just be down to individual preference?), but the word "j*pped" as a slang refers to a lot of harmful stereotypes about Romani (aka getting scammed by "the scheming g*psy"). I'm no expert on these things, and I've been watching your channel long enough to know you didn't have any ill intent and likely didn't know (hell, even in this video alone you've proven that). But I just figured you'd want to know for future reference :)
