- This is a new ROM hack I just released, the hardest Ninja Gaiden ROM hack you'll ever play.
This video shows you how to get through the first 5 levels of the hack. - Ігри
This ROM hack needs more attention.
It's pretty good and significantly more fair and less "technical*" than, say, _"Ninja Gaiden in Hell"._
(* I say "technical" because _In Hell_ can be beaten, even though it's not supposed to be since it's a joke hack.)
Thanks man, I really appreciate that
And you basically nailed my goal for the hack
Wasn't trying to make it ridiculously unfair like some of the other ones I was seeing, but was still trying to make something difficult
Actually, I may have been a little hasty in my assessment.
This is somehow *worse* than _Ninja Gaiden in Hell._ You *need* to know the game inside and out to play it, abuse knockback, and just… blaugh. I gave up in Act 4-3. I'm sorry.
@@JoLiKMC I mean I don't blame you, without savestates I myself can only get to about the same spot
(The run you see in the video is spliced)
This was a project over several years and it didn't start as "the hardest ninja gaiden hack ever," but as I discovered more and more tricks you could do with the game, I started putting them in more and more, by the end of level 4 it started getting brutal though and only continued to get worse
At some points I considered toning it down but eventually was like "oh screw it, keep it really hard" and that became what defined it, though if I toned things down it might have been a better hack overall 😂
I only consider it more fair than hacks like Ninja Gaiden in Hell because I avoided enemies spawning out of absolutely nowhere
Getting to 4-3 is actually really impressive so good job
Well… don't congratulate me *too* sincerely. I used save states, too. Heh heh.
If you ever make another one of these, I'd love to see what you come up with! Level design isn't easy. Back when I played _Mega Man Powered Up,_ I made some very… _questionable_ level design decisions. I played my old levels last year and wanted to kick my own butt, ha hah. But, I also redesigned those levels after playing them so they're less terrible. I've come a long way since then, and every level only makes us better at designing~!
@@JoLiKMC I do have more ideas in mind, whether ROM hacking or otherwise
Considering I made this hack inconsistently over the span of several years, hopefully I can take what I learned from it and make some better stuff 😂
