Maybe a high/low submission. A carry that includes super premium as well as budget gear. I personally carry a 300+ dollar knife but also a basic bic lighter that costs 2 bucks. Cool to see what gear people want to spend their money on vs where the cheap stuff gets the job done
Dear Taylor and Ricky, thank you very much, that you showed the EDC of my beloved grandpa Willhelm and you liked it. You have given me great joy. Greetings from Germany Gerd PS: A nice theme could be Micro EDC. As a backup, I always carry a Micro EDC zipper pouch 3.74 x 2.75 inches with a knife, flashlight, etc. etc., which fits in absolutely any pocket and contains the bare essentials.
An occupational carry video! A kitchen carry, fireman carry, business carry, and handyman carry. The similarities and differences should make for an interesting video.
Been asking for this for years! I second this idea, and id love the “hows” and “whys” -as in how they ended up with that particular tool and why they chose a particular brand. Love to hear stories behind each tool too bec im sure they have those
Yeah, I'm the senior pastor and the "handyman" of a Southern Baptist Church. My EDC changes on the day of the week and the job. If others have a similar experience, it could be the basis for an interesting video.
I am proud to carry my mother-in-law's favorite pocket knife. She grew up on a homestead in SW Wyoming, hauled water from a spring until they moved into a house with indoor plumbing when she was 13. She raised bum lambs every spring until she died, was an accomplished horsewoman, could fix fence, milk cows, hunt, fish, and smell bullshit from a mile away. I would never want to be the person trying to sell her a horse, but would trust any horse she was willing to pay good money for.
Seconding this! Our kids start carrying a fanny pack outside and when we go somewhere when they are older toddlers. My 3 year old has stuff like a band aid or two, a snack, a small toy, sometimes a tiny pair of pliers, toy pocketknife, and a whistle. My 9 year old has stuff like that, plus her pocket knife, a little flashlight, a safety pin, sometimes a little fire starter necklace, a little notebook and pen, etc. I like teaching them to start thinking critically about what might be helpful for themselves and others, even if their effectiveness is still kid-level. 😂 Always open to cool ideas for the kids to rotate into their packs! They are always so excited to be able to help, even if it is just giving a kid at Sunday School a band aid.
I would also like to see a mid range EDC weekly not super bougie and not super budget. Like a carry that might be expensive together but individually pretty cheap.
Solid episode. Hearing other people's experiences around their grandfather's really warms my heart. I'm sad I didn't make it, BUT hearing all these priceless stories and seeing the plethora of carries was awesome. Hands down, this is my favorite episode.
A sentimental carry video showing off pieces that have a major significance to you personally would be pretty cool. Special knife from a family member, a peice of gear u got to use for weddings/graduations ect.
Wife’s carry? (What your significant other carries on a daily basis) I feel like it could be funny and there may be a few heavy hitters. My wife usually carries a small Sebenza 31 or her Microtech Stitch.
My grandpa just passed away 3 months ago and one of his kids who was supposed to be a Paul bearer just didn't show up and I was selected to stand in. Afterwards I told my father (his son) it was nice to be able to let my grandpa down one last time. So basically I relate. Hahaha
How about an Ultra Minimalist Carry for the next EDC Weekly? Let's see how many people here would actually carry only a handful of gears. And thank you for once again having my photo featured, Taylor and Rikki.
Sorry for so many comments I’m glad that your enjoying the EDC weekly not now Could Rikki join you at the beginning of when you first look at each carry to explain why he chose them? (Rather than other carrys?)
I would like to see a peoples actual carry that could beat the Preparonator 3000 or a (heritage worn, adged, patina, beat up carry (leather, brass, ) )
Best “supporting tools” to edc. Most every subscriber here’s got an edc but lots of us want to learn about the tools that keep our EDC going, grind stones/techniques that have been passed on, fancy screwdrivers with little compartments within the handles, specific oils for knife maintenance, etc. i think that would be really awesome. Also I know someone already mentioned it but pls pls pls do an occupation carry, it would be a fun series
Never knew my grandfather's both passed before I was born but I'd love to see a edc you'd pass on to your kids/grandkids or even a making your kids first edc
I would love to see you do a series on different traits and what they would carry. Dot example woodworkers, electricians, tile, etc. I think this would help show what guys in different trades are caring and why they carry it.
A first responder edc kit. Maybe color coded to the profession, like white/red/black for fire/ems and black/blue or green/brown for police and sheriff respectively. Sleek vs rugged, practicality and durability, simple and small to a larger and complex kit, a kit to carry on your person to maybe something a lil larger for an easy access stow-away in your vehicle
My grandfather was a tradesman til he passed in August, the man wouldn’t ever carry a knife but enjoyed that i carry one everyday i can. He was a flashlight enjoyer, every room had a flashlight in it incase of severe weather.
A carry built to start a legacy! This video got me thinking about how much I enjoy the edc community but really don’t have anything passed down from my grandpas or even dad. I want to see carries that are being built today that are intended to be passed down peoples family lineage! I know I am building carries that I want my 2 daughters to inherit eventually but would love to see what others are doing and building for this same cause!
My grandpa gave me his old Swiss Army knife. I only used it briefly until I switched to the victorinox compact, but I will never get rid of it and keep it in good condition for as long as I’m around.
I'm fairly new to this whole edc concept but i got myself the Leatherman Micra because i "have never owned a Leatherman/multitool" and i love it so much! It literally looks like a miniature Leatherman but it feels absolutely solid and high quality! I might consider getting a Leatherman for myself later this year(my birthday is November)
I can’t particularly afford it ATM but my Grandfather was a Dutch fisherman and would love to get a custom knife made with a bone handle that has a old ship engraved and then filled blue ink ,kind of like a Dutch plate or mug.Its Great seeing the EDC I weekly back ,I for one love seeing what other people carry ,it inspires me to adjust and refine my carry. I love smaller knives and gear and think a small but mighty carry EDC theme would be awesome.
I would love to see some woodsman edc. The kind of stuff that line your pockets when you go out in the woods for a cup of campfire coffee or whittle a trap. Great to have the edc weekly up and running again.
I run a furniture store and I have friends that have different careers than me but we all have certain tools that we carry daily to make our jobs a little easier and more efficient. So a "Different Damn Career Carry!" Salesman, flooring, carpenter, mechanic, EMT..... there are people from all walks of life that love EDC and are interested in our way of life. When I found your channel it opened my eyes to this way of life. I was like a kid in a candy store.
I never got to know my grandfathers, they both left their families before I was born. My father looked up to HIS grandfather tho, my great-grandfather, he taught my dad the 3 items to always carry are keys, a bit of string and a knife. I still own my great-grandfathers edc knife, it's a traditional bavarian/austrian fixed blade and it's been sharpened so much it's now half the size of what it initially used to be 😅
I think a good idea would be EDC for the office. I love all of the submissions and things that people use in their lives. I think a great idea for the office are things that would be more useful for an executive and wouldn't scare the staff to run to HR and tell on you ;)
This has me thinking about cleaning up some of the stuff in my grandpa’s old toolbox. How about an Active Duty/Veteran EDC? Perhaps a Heirloom EDC or kickstart for the next generation. What would you give your kid?
If you like zippos try looking at the Japanese import market. The Japanese still smoke like chimneys. An they love zippos. So they get some very high-end stuff made by zippo for the Japanese market only. An you can buy and import it back. We're talking lots of engraving and embossing, as well as sterling silver options. Options that range from nerdy anime and video game themed stuff to super classy and classic designs.
I like the ideas already mentioned of a tradesmen carry, or possibly the single most random item you do or have EDC'd Also, GABC countdown has begun 👌, can't wait!
A video about peoples favorite color combinations. I love orange and OD green together. Would be cool to see what other combos people throw together instead of a carry with one color theme
I think a beginners carry would be very cool. Almost like what you would recommend to yourself if you could go back in time to when you first started. Or recommendation from seasoned edc'rs to newcomers.
Super awesome video with lots of solid carries! I'd love to see what guys who carry Leathermans carry. A Leatherman can do a lot, so what I want to see is what else a guy might carry on top of that.
How about a ladies Carry, particularly in her purse, such as, often used things that aren't make-up, notebooks etc... and a focus on purses that may be more EDC type carry than a regular purse. I would love to see Maxpedition come out with a versatile purse with all of the organization as their other packs, with top handles, and a strap so it can be used as a fanny/but pack! So you can go from using a purse right to bug out/get home in an emergency while in town! I am 5' tall and try to carry in a normal purse, while having things for emergencies. I think Maxpedition would make for a great long term everyday purse. Camo pink would be nice! People seldomly talk about a woman's carry options.
I proposed in the comments about two years ago, “my grandfather‘s EDC” segment. I still have my grandfather’s EDC, including his case, knife, sap, and a few other things.
This made me realize that out of my 3 grand fathers, only 1 had knives... And it wasn't the WW2 vet. My dad's dad had a small folding buck in his pocket, while there was another in a case next to a fixed blade in a sheath, both in his sock drawer and never seen him carry.
Just throwing it out there, a modern traditional carry would be cool. I have no idea what that might look like, but I do like the aesthetic. Anyways, thanks!
I have several of my wife’s grandfathers Case knives. I’ve really gotten into slip joint knives. On some level they connect me to my past. I really wish that I had one of my grandads knives. I also have my late brother’s pocket knife sharpener.
When my grandfather passed in '21, one of the things that was important for me to get was his lighter. He was a smoker and, while I don't aside from a cigar here and there, I'm always sure to carry his 1961 Zippo with me to family events. '61 was also the year he met my grandmother, so I like to think that it was in his pocket when he first met her.
Since you are waxing towards the nostalgic, I have a challenge. Obtain and explain all the official Boy Scout knives from beginning till now. Multiple manufacturers, styles, Quality levels. Would make for a lot of content, and anyone who was ever a scout would be interested. Just a thought. Might be a fun challenge. The scouts did sort of create the whole EDC thing after all, even though they didn’t call it that (Be Prepared and all that stuff…)
Excellent theme idea! I'd love to see a 'knifeless carry' video. I'm a teacher, so I can't carry a dedicated knife on me so I'm super interested to see how others in my shoes tweak their carry!
Pocket dump...Spyderco Endura, wallet, 6 ft of 550 cord, and my Android phone. That's it...Grandpa was a seafairing guy and would applaud the Endura and the 550 cord as well. I'd have to explain the phone, and it's multiple uses for communication, flashlight, time piece, as well as navigation. The wallet he'd approve of.
Man I want an older model Old Timer. First pocket knife my father gave me was a little 2 blade one. Lost it when I was young and dumb sadly. They’re made cheap over seas now
My Dad carried a small Ka Bar folder. He also carried a lighter since he smoked. His knife was always razor sharp.I have no idea what my Grandfather carried .
I have carried the small pocket clip flathead screwdriver. They cost 99 cents or in the 80s they were even cheaper at ACE. Literally my fathers "nice seiko" cost less than a pen we might buy today...
Maybe a high/low submission. A carry that includes super premium as well as budget gear. I personally carry a 300+ dollar knife but also a basic bic lighter that costs 2 bucks. Cool to see what gear people want to spend their money on vs where the cheap stuff gets the job done

Dear Taylor and Ricky,
thank you very much, that you showed the EDC of my beloved grandpa Willhelm and you liked it. You have given me great joy.
Greetings from Germany
Gerd
PS: A nice theme could be Micro EDC. As a backup, I always carry a Micro EDC zipper pouch 3.74 x 2.75 inches with a knife, flashlight, etc. etc., which fits in absolutely any pocket and contains the bare essentials.
I'd love to see a tradesman carry video! As a new construction plumber i'm always looking for more EDC items to make my life easier
An occupational carry video! A kitchen carry, fireman carry, business carry, and handyman carry. The similarities and differences should make for an interesting video.
Oo I'd love this.
Solid idea

The grandfather EDC theme is definately one of my favorites. Would like to see more of that. Maybe you could repeat it every now and then.
A parent/family-man carry, would b something id like to see. And educational.
Keep it up bud, cant get enough edc vids
A kitchen carry , I used to be a chef and gave it up to be home with my family, there are some truly great kitchen knives and chef edc gear
I got in to edc when i was about 10 years old and joined the cub/boyscouts. A cool theme could be “your kids edc” or “things you edc’d as a kid”
Seconding this! Our kids start carrying a fanny pack outside and when we go somewhere when they are older toddlers. My 3 year old has stuff like a band aid or two, a snack, a small toy, sometimes a tiny pair of pliers, toy pocketknife, and a whistle. Carry that is fun (is entertaining/funny/makes you smile/etc.). Or a nostalgia/nostalgic carry.
I would also like to see a mid range EDC weekly not super bougie and not super budget.
Like a carry that might be expensive together but individually pretty cheap.
It would be awesome to see your carry for the day and how you would put together a carry the same as the EDC weekly that week.

My dad tried for years to make my grandfather proud. If he couldn’t do it, I don’t think anything in my pockets would either.
WOW lol.
Sir this is a Wendy’s
My grandpa just passed away 3 months ago and one of his kids who was supposed to be a Paul bearer just didn't show up and I was selected to stand in. Afterwards I told my father (his son) it was nice to be able to let my grandpa down one last time. So basically I relate. Hahaha
Make sure to let your dad and kids know that you’re proud of them
Just because men don’t show the soy boy emotions of flustering love and affection doesn’t mean they’re not/weren’t proud.

You should do a Mechanic’s Carry EDC Weekly. Or possibly like a EDC Weekly based around people in the Trades.
I like this idea trademans carry for sure mine will also be in the well worn category as well.
customized carry! Things you have either modified directly or purchased aftermarket parts. Pretty cool to see more unique items!
Never knew my grandfather's both passed before I was born but I'd love to see a edc you'd pass on to your kids/grandkids or even a making your kids first edc

3D printed EDC. I have a few items I have printed that have made it into the carry.
My grandfather was a tradesman til he passed in August, the man wouldn’t ever carry a knife but enjoyed that i carry one everyday i can. He was a flashlight enjoyer, every room had a flashlight in it incase of severe weather.
EDC from around the world. Seeing Gerd's carry made me think about everyone outside of the US who must have some pretty awesome pocket gear!
A carry built to start a legacy! This video got me thinking about how much I enjoy the edc community but really don’t have anything passed down from my grandpas or even dad. My grandpa gave me his old Swiss Army knife. I only used it briefly until I switched to the victorinox compact, but I will never get rid of it and keep it in good condition for as long as I’m around.
Nice, Which model was it?
@@frakismaximus3052 im not sure to be honest, but the most similar modern Swiss Army knife is probably the spartan.
Just bought my first pocket knife. Benchmade 945bk-1 mini Osborne. I love it.
Saw this and ordered a Monterey Watch Blacktip 42. Great buy.

I always like seeing the well used carries. Maybe not the most thrashed but stuff you can see is carried and loved daily
A father’s edc for sure. Having my first in November can’t wait but would love inspiration on bags and gear

Matchy Matchy carry. Whether that’s green, blackout or any other kind of coordinated gear.

“At work” carry! Stuff you bring to work every day. Interested to see how occupations might change what people have
Taylor’s rocking that Tony Soprano special
Fall Season Activity. Be it NFL/CFB inspired or Outdoor/Halloween/Dia de Los Muertos would be nice to see.
Since you are waxing towards the nostalgic, I have a challenge. Obtain and explain all the official Boy Scout knives from beginning till now. Multiple manufacturers, styles,

EDC gears that you found on youtube videos and liked it so much that you bought one as well.

Would be cool to see a video about all of your grandfather's knives!
Excellent theme idea! I'd love to see a 'knifeless carry' video. I'm a teacher, so I can't carry a dedicated knife on me so I'm super interested to see how others in my shoes tweak their carry!
a student carry would be really interesting! get the chance to see what tools ppl take with them whether theyre at college, votech, or a trade school
How about another "Complete My Carry" EDC Weekly video? I love seeing what people carry and recommendations from you and the community!
A micro carry, complete carry of small items would be cool 😊
How about an office/salesman carry? Some of us sit at a desk most of the day. I’d be interested in seeing what other salesmen carry.
1. Pocket organiser carry theme. Or
2. bumb bag/sling carry theme.
The next theme should be “back to the 80’s” theme. Bright neon colors, fanny packs, etc😂
Those little screwdrivers are called control screwdrivers, they fit machine control screws and other low voltage bits
Great video
Pocket dump...Spyderco Endura, wallet, 6 ft of 550 cord, and my Android phone. That's it...Grandpa was a seafairing guy and would applaud the Endura and the 550 cord as well. I have my grandfathers japanese gerber small lockback from the 70s that was in his pocket when he died. It's in my collection.
I'm not a grandpa yet, but I'm definitely proud of that coin!
Since you're giving away a Bum Bag, how about what's in your EDC Pouch?
Check out Speidel for that metal but elastic watch bands. They are the original brand and make the perfect version.
I believe a work/occupation carry video would be interesting.
Do a my first edc /my current edc. I'd like to see the evolution of people's carry.
I really want to see a EDC Sling Bag, Tech Case or Pouch carry, I'm a little bit OCD and you can see it in my EDC 🤣🤠👌
Futuristic everyday carry for next theme.
Finally! It’s here!
I work in an office (white collar) job. I would like to see a white collar EDC. I do not believe that you have ever done one of those before.
I’d love to see a sports themed carry.
Great EDC picks.
Bladeville says hello, but also IMO a video about your carry that hasn’t changed for a while, would be nice to see some wear and tear on gear
I wasn't thinking about it, but I have multiple grandfathers EDC from my family and my wife's including my Grandmas boyfriends Zippo!
